Murderbot is the best example I've ever seen of PTSD where the trauma-haver just. Completely dissociates from its own physical trauma responses. "Oh, for some reason I'm suddenly unable to speak, can't move from one spot, and feel trapped in a specific thought loop or memory. Must be nothing. Anyway, time to fly off on another dangerous mission that takes up all my time, energy, and focus for no reason in particular."

my CoS gm gave our izek hair and made him a quite nice man (it was canonised in our game that his demon arm was influencing his actions/character, but he lost it in battle so hes now a regular guy), so the only image that pops into my head is your izek. hes just so handsome, how could i not! every time you post izek, it makes me love him more

omfg the same thing happened in our game.... Izek just got his arm cut off by our paladin and now he's a (sort of) normal guy in jail HAHA thank you SO much, kudos to our DM who gave him hair!!! it truly changes so much. :-D happy you can envision the handsomeness of your izek strazni in some way hehe oh and definitely go give my co-player @vivtanner a follow, they are izek strazni central and draw him a bunch

*fully sweating bullets and thousand yard staring into space as the king of hearts starts to talk about losing the person you love and what you'd be willing to do to get them back* this better not be fUCKING thematic foreshadowing for what this story is meant to head towards eventually (I say, with little hope and great trepidation). we're just going to be thematically microdosing on that in the main krew right folks. no one's going to be lost forever. right??!?!

(though I must admit that the idea of some of them dying and being brough back because that is someone else's heart's desire -- because 'what would even be the point of being given anything else, if you aren't here with me' -- would render me fully incapable of being normal ever again and forever goodnight)

Late night Wrath of the Righteous rambling:

In the midst of Seasonal Affective Disorder kicking me in the teeth this week, I've been throwing WotR characters at the wall to see what sticks.

Haven't wanted to play my morally ambiguous or evil leaning characters, so I went back to trying to come up with a Gold Dragon run. And right now what I've got is Laura D'Angelo, LG Martyr Paladin of Apsu, initially going Angel path, probably romancing Wenduag... because. The concept compelled me.

I got her through the Shield Maze to Defender's Heart before going, "man I've played the beginning of this game too many times," and went back to some of my older saves.

The result of which is that Delilah Fujimori has now become Jack Fujimori (kitsune Sorcerer, mythic Azata) to romance Sosiel and rolled back to Act 2 to make that happen, Caroline Gemsledge (dwarf Cleric of Torag) and Annabel Ainsley (half-orc Oracle) have made it through the Grey Garrison to the beginning of Act 2.

And then a bit more floundering around, before coming to the conclusion that I just don't enjoy playing full casters in this game that much (I don't in tabletop either, if I do it's a support bitch with utility casting, and utility casting is not really a thing in the computer game). So if I'm shelving Caroline and Annabel for the moment (both of whom were 1) attempts at a merged Angel spellbook and 2) going to romance Ulbrig), I needed a new attempt to romance Ulbrig with a class I actually enjoy playing. (See: my love of 6/9 casters.)

Culminating, before I finally turned off my desktop for the night, with Cecilia, the CN rakshasa-spawn tiefling Skald who worships Gyronna, going for a finesse natural attacking build, aiming for Trickster path because I have enough open Angel, Aeon, and Azata games already.

I think I need to sleep on this before I can determine if this makes any god-damn amount of sense.
