Okay, minor spoiler for the Octopath Traveler 2 demo and Osvald/Thronés story, but I love how they changed the way the existing gang meets new characters.

In the first OT you just meet the character in their home town, talk to them and then you can play their first chapter. Perfectly servicable, not always really logical but nothing I would complain about.

But in OT 2 there is a small prelude to that meeting. With Osvald you find him laying unconcious in the snow and you decide to wake him up, meanwhile you meet Throné because you save a dog she knows and likes from two scoundrels.

And it's not only more natural than just them talking to a random stranger about their own private problems, it also adds way more logic and debth to the story and characters. After everything he went through in the last five years, Osvald wouldn't just trust anyone without a good reason. But after realizing that you selflessly saved a random stranger from freezing to death, it makes sense that he would consider you an ally. And even though I don't know if the dog will have some important part in her story (which would make it even nicer), Thronés connection to it immediately makes her appear more approachable and kind. Even though she's a thief, it makes sense why the gang accepts her offer to come along. Who can be a truly bad person if a dog loves them that much, right?

Once again it's a small change, but not gonna lie, I really love it.

Hate that I have to go back to work tomorrow and work thru Tuesday (for no fucking reason. Monday, I get! Cleamup from Sunday plus I have an order to write. Why do I have to be there on tuesday????) (Also my boss is so bad at making schedules he constantly puts 2 people on Tuesdays and 1 person on Wednesdays despite the latter always having way mote product coming in than a Tuesday And being busier. Make it make sense.)

On the other hand the rain stopped and it's bright out and dry now I guess?? So a) hopefully the garden center delivery didn't come earlier and comes now instead, and b) this means sales will do better on the outdoor now that the rain has stopped. So hoping it'll be more of 'some rain but some dry+sunny/clear moments' this week instead of 'constant pouring rain and also thunder' like I was worried it'd be.
