common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about: That because of his world on fire speech, Matt can see. Stop it he can't. He can sense, he can take in information to help navigate his surroundings, but he is blind.

part of canon you think is overhyped: K-redevil. The whole time it felt like something was missing. Sure they looked cute together but it felt like they were just ~-suddenly a couple-~ because of forced heterosexual plot lines. Also it ended SO abruptly so it felt like it all happened for no reason. You cant tell me that KAREN wouldn't ask follow up questions after seeing Elektra. who was obviously ill in his bed holding his hand, and they weren't even alone in the apartment. idk how you'd equate that with sleeping with her exactly but it annoys the shit out of me. Not saying that she and Matt would be BAD together I just don't like how it played out. K-rdevil would work better as part of an ot3, KarenxFoggyxMatt. The dynamic of them all together,figuring things out, is what made the show so charming. Foggy brings out the sweetness in both of them, and it would be a better balance.

Aside from the many things I love about it, there's one thing in particular that upsets me about the entire daredevil series: The main trio (Matt, Karen, Foggy) does not interact enough. Or not in the way I would've wanted them to. They do at the beginning of season 1, but Karen is still new to their little gang and Matt is still lying about, well, a lot of things.

Then as soon as shit starts to get serious, identity revealed, tension tangible - a moment at which other shows start to increase interactions between characters in intensity - , their interactions become much less frequent. They spent the rest of season 1 and almost all of season 2 arguing or ignoring each other and the ignoring only gets worse in season 3! A lot of the time they're all just doing their own seperate things and I just wish I could see them being a team and friends more.

They often throw in a little scene at the end of the season to insinuate that it's cool, they're talking to each other again (hoo-fucking-rray), but they never really solve the tension, the arguments that seperated them in the first place.

Those three had such a great dynamic going on and the series doesn't utilise it nearly enough.

“This is a terrible idea even by your standards, Matt, and you have a lot of terrible ideas,” Foggy says, crossing his arms over his chest.

He’s trying to look disapproving, but the expression on his face is no deterrent for a blind man, even if Matt can probably sense what he’s doing from the tone of Foggy’s voice. Karen stifles a laugh beside him and he elbows her gently, ignoring the way Matt’s smirking at them both. There’s something intimately satisfying about that smirk, something Foggy doesn’t want to think about too hard while they’re in public if he can help it. Matt’s still looking soft and lazy from the morning they’d spent in his apartment, sleeping in and enjoying the comfort of being together again. The worst of his injuries have healed under Sister Maggie’s watchful eye and now there’s just the one neon green band-aid on the line of his jaw where Foggy had stuck it as a joke, and the bruising they’d left on Matt’s throat where it’s just visible above the collar of his shirt. It’s good, so good to see Matt with them again. It feels like the world’s righted itself again. Nelson, Murdock and Page, Foggy thinks giddily, and the words settle right in his chest under his heart.

“Hi. Matthew, right?”

Matt turns his head in the direction of the red-haired receptionist, smiling at her. She looks suitably charmed, and Karen rolls her eyes and tucks her arm around Foggy’s waist. It’s a little possessive, almost, but he kind of likes it. He leans back into her and watches Matt tuck his cane away, taking the receptionist’s arm when she begins leading them into the studio.

“A blind guy getting a tattoo. Now I’ve seen everything,” the artist says in greeting when they stop at his station. Matt’s lips curl up slightly and Foggy guesses there’s a silent quip there about seeing everything that Matt isn’t saying out loud.

oh my god i feel u. i sat and watched a compilation of daredevil fight scenes like 2 hours ago when i have a Big Ass Presentation due at 8 am. the hallway fight scene from s1 is Still god fucking tier.

i want to rewatch daredevil but i also don’t want to see anything from s1e10 onward because i want foggy and matt to Still be Good Friends. also i remember absolutely nothing from s2 or s3 so i feel like i should rewatch. BUT if i rewatch ill just get really sad it got cancelled. 

i did watch s1e10 aka nelson v murdock at like 6 am a few nights ago and cried the entire time. avocados at law, man. fucking avocados at law!!!

Lashton? Also Matt Murdock and whoever you ship him with

Hello Kassie!! First, love that you asked about Lashton and then I finally showed you a photo. Anyway heres one for them!

Lashton soulmate:

Tattoos. Namely, matching tattoos. Little symbols (music notes? florals? Florals. Florals for their shared birth month, larkspur). Luke has his on his right rib, Ashton has his on his left hip. Complimentary pieces of each other, matching tattoos, oppose sides, perfect harmony. Luke cherishes his tattoo, wants it to be special, like his parents' tattoos are. He takes great care to hide it from the world, until he's sure it's the right person.

Ashton hides his because he refuses to have his heart broken. So he makes sure to hide his from the world, covering it with clothing and other tattoos, so the idea of which is his soulmark and which is something he added blurs together.

Eventually one of them catches the other undressing, sees the tattoo, and agonizes over it until the other figures it out and they kiss it out

Daredevil:

Okay, so I ship Matt, Foggy, and Karen in a classic ot3. I asked for help with this one (sorta) and nik provided me with the idea of a tactile sort of soulmate marking bc of matt's blindness.

So, what about the idea of like, matching marks with your soulmate, but they happen to be more tactile than the average tattoo. Little matching marks splattered on Matt, Foggy, and Karen. Matt has his on his hip, hides his, because he's Daredevil duh, and private and he makes a point of not touching other people and finding out what their marks are. Foggy has his on his wrist, easy to spot, easy to know, that he keeps covered because he thinks it just makes him look a little sad that he has a visible mark and no soulmate. Karen has hers right behind her ear, covered by her hair, not quite seen, but not quite hidden either. The shape of it isn't important, just that it's theirs and it's hidden.

And then Foggy finds Matt bleeding out on a couch and in the rush to stop the bleeding and save his friend, Foggy finds Matt's soulmark, but he's too mad and hurt and betrayed and confused about his old comfortable feelings for Matt with his new feelings for Karen so he shovers it done and doesn't mention it.

And then Karen notices Foggy's mark while they're drinking together, grabbing onto his wrist and laughing, thumb brushing over it and she recognizes the shape of it, the feel of it, but she chalks it up to drunken coincidence and forgets about it in the morning.

And then Matt brushes Karen's hair back behind her ear, pulling her in for a kiss, thumb brushing over the mark he's traced on his own skin over and over and over again. And then Matt grabs onto Foggy, begging him to stay and realizes that all the years he's avoided touching Foggy and the mark is right there. And then Karen finds Matt, but he's Daredevil, but he's Matt and she realizes that he's got the same mark as her, as Foggy.

And the three of them are a little slow to the punch, but they're Nelson and Murdock and Page and they get their eventually, but they belong together as a unit and they always have.
