- The poster has Prepare to have your ship wrecked as a tagline. - We had some bts info about a big naval battle - Apparently the finale is heartbreaking but also Jenkins has said it will end in a way that is satisfying if they don't get s3.

What if the heartbreaking thing is the Revenge getting destroyed, which I think has been discussed as a theory before. BUT it gets destroyed as a parallel to Ed giving up his pirating career/Blackbeard for the Act of Grace and to save Stede's life. But now, Stede is deliberately giving up the Revenge/his new home/dreams of a pirating career to save Ed's life.

Because from a Genre Romance POV, the Grand Gesture is a big deal. And Ed has made his Grand Gesture in s1, giving up Blackbeard to be with Stede, and he did it in front of Stede. So I've been expecting Stede to do the same, because yes, Stede giving up his wealth is a big deal to Stede, but also, it was something he wasn't very attached to. Ed wasn't there to witness it.

Stede is attached to the Revenge. So him giving that up where Ed can see it and know it's to save his life? 👌

It also lets Jenkins end s2 in a way that is satisfying (Ed/Stede together, with their crew) but in a way that leaves us with a big What's Next?
