These tags are all pretty self-explanatory ... I love fluff, I love angst that ends well. Hurt/Comfort is perfect for me because you always get both; I will note that I prefer the hurt to be somewhat serious, whether it's emotional or physical. Adds tension, and it's the resolution of tension that's so wonderful.

I love it when Ed and Stede are protective of each other (whether that's like "protecting from a legitimate threat" or humorous overprotectiveness), when they pine for each other, when they misread each other's compliments or self-loathing and feel bad about it.

Canon divergence possibilities abound, whether you use them to make things angstier or to fix them - I'm not sure there's any wrong answers here. Stede and Ed meet younger than they did in canon. Stede avoids Geraldo's trap and they have to meet a different way. Ed kisses Stede in the moonlight. They escape together from the academy. Anything!

One of the things I love about the show is the way Stede goes from an outsider everywhere to a captain whose crew stands up for him and cares about him not dying, as well as the way a crew that starts out at each other's throats ends up a cohesive group. So I would love a fic that focuses on Stede being friendly with the crew, or with Lucius in particular, or intra-crew dynamics! This could be in the canon universe, or a setting AU. "Crew members find out about Stede's past trauma" is always a good trope, but I also like plotless whimsy, members of the crew just having their weird conversations.

Only a couple of things, none of which are really suggested by my requests so it's probably not necessary to list them, but I will just in case. No Ed really hurting Stede in a reunion (unless it's a time loop and it's just one of the ways it goes); no Ed/Izzy, Stede/Izzy, or Steddy Hands.

So I'm kind of wondering something.

People keep saying that Izzy whittled that little shark specifically for Lucius, but I never really saw it that way.

Izzy was still kind of dealing with his own shit there, with the previous episode being the unicorn-leg one, and he made up the shark story to deal and cope with his trauma, which is why he was whittling that thing in the first place.

He only gave it to Lucius after they had a deep conversation about it and noticing that Lucius might need it more than he does at that moment, which is why he blows off the dust (not giving it a kiss as i also saw so many people claim, you can hear him blow air) and hands it off to someone who now has to deal with and move on from their own trauma (and, if i'm not wrong, kind of prompts Lucius to take his future into his own hands and propose to Pete).
