Circling back to kiara/pope/jj as a poly here’s my headcanons for it:

-jj and kiara love to drive pope crazy by diving head first into dangerous and stupid situations , pope trying his hardest to get them out of it

-when alone they like to cuddle and listen to music and banter like old married couples

-they don’t invite john b or sarah out with them and use the excuse of it being a date night which work every time

-when they first asked jj to be with them he laughed in their faces for a whole minute

-but cried right after he figured they weren’t joking around, they hugged him and assured him that they were in fact 100% serious

-it took a whole day for john be to understand that his friends were in a Polycule relationship and what a Polycule relationship actually means

-he fist bumped jj and started his rant about how lucky jj most be to bag two of the hottest people he knows, leaving jj a blushing mess

-pope like to see jj and kie wearing his clothes so he always lending them his sweaters, jj never gives him his clothes back and kie like to wash them and drench them with her perfume before giving them back to pope

-when jj get angry with them he give them the cold shoulder, kie scream and yell far away from them than feel guilty and try to make them talk, pope shut down and hide away in his room

-kie and pope drag jj to the couch to talk to them and it usually ends with him close to tears

-when kie is angry they give her space to work her emotions out and then they talk it out and it usually ends with them cuddling

-when pope shut down they leave him alone for a while then he himself will call them to talk and it ends with him apologizing

-sometimes they forget they’re in public and start kissing and all of a sudden people’s eyes are on them

-if two of them are having a moment the third have to be boomed with love right after so no one is left behind, it usually jj who has to run from them before they can kiss him senseless

-when they hangout jj and kie get high together while pope is watching tv, they like to tease him by flirting with him till he gets flustered and decides to leave

-“no don’t go!” “Pope baby please don’t go “”you guys aren’t in your right mind” “we gonna make out and you wanna go back to your books? virgin!” “virrrgggiinn”

Oh I have to send another ask to talk about more Jiara how much did you love how both times JJ dropped the treasure hunt and the trip with John B and Big John to save Kiara? Everything with Jiara was amazing this season all except no second kiss and the finale didn't have as much with them. The reunion had to be my favorite where he was asking if they hurt her in a soft voice. How are we going to get through this hiatus? I could barely wait when we had a week left.

i have literally not stopped thinking about jj consistently choosing kiara over the treasure since i watched. JJ's line in the first episode when they are looking at the painting of the burning boat - "it's about the gold, not kiara. it doesn't help us." like WHAT. it so clearly shows where his head is at and what he considers important and it makes me want to SCREAM. and in episode 9, when they are waiting to go save Big John, he was so antsy and he was so upset that everyone was literally, like, five minutes late and he needed to go but then kiara's not there and he KNOWS something is up. He goes from not waiting to wait even a second longer to delaying his whole trip by 8 hours and telling the other pogues to go on without him because he needs to save kiara. LIKE.

i do wish we got a second kiss in the finale but i think s4 is going to serve. i also LOVED the reunion on the dock scene - it's between that and the high five after they get on the plane to South America for my favorite scene.

hiatus is gonna be something for sure alkjdsfhlkasjdfhsdf but here's to hoping early renewal means early filming means early release!!!

I can't say I feel bad for Pope he kept forcing her to be with him and wouldn't stop I still don't get why the writers made them get together made no sense for me other than her grief of Sarah and John B. Now I have a question why did nobody really care about JJ when finding out what his dad did to him? I guess they thought it only happened once but getting him away from his dad should of been their top priority I keep thinking he felt like nobody really cared about him all that much.

I don't think Kiara Carrera can be forced to do anything, but Pope definitely acted entitled and ridiculous a few times that may have had certain effects on her. I think she was genuinely grasping and wanting to feel something that simply wasn't there. Also the added coping she was trying to do as you mentioned. She loves Pope and he made his affection clear so...maybe? Only to find out nope, no...definitely not.

There's only one person she never had to try to feel anything for - it simply just is. The person she chooses.

AHHHhhhhh. The whole debacle with what the Pogues know/didn't know, what the show did or didn't do with JJ's situation. It's hard. Another thing @plutotwenty has some great insight on that we often spiral about. They're essentially sixteen year old kids who may or may not have true knowledge of JJ's reality. We know that JJ would do anything in his power to conceal or deflect from anyone feeling sorry for him. At Midsummers when Pope notices JJ being banged up, as well as in the hot tub scene when they're horrified at his bruises, it seems like they're sort of seeing the severity for the first time. Could be that it truly is ramping up in real time too with the restitution being part of that. I don't know if they know what to do, and we know getting authority involved in any way would be JJ's worst nightmare. He's entrenched deep into Cut culture, for better or worse. The Pogues are JJ's family and I think he knows they love him/care, but I would like to see more of that being overtly addressed! We started getting some of it S3 with Kie's "I'll help" and insistence on being there for him through his trauma.
