Butch Self-Esteem
Sometimes feeling good about yourself is an uphill battle when you are butch. I often feel like I am not enough by anyone's standards. All of the insecurities I have about my body (being short, curvy, too soft) are confirmed by other people on the internet when they run butches down, call us ugly gremlins, 2/10s, compare us to men, etc.
I'm tired and I've had enough, so here are some things that I've been doing to build myself back up:
I refuse to make self-deprecating jokes anymore.
When I say something bad about myself in my head, I must say something positive to counter it.
I follow people who look like me on TikTok and notice positive attributes we have in common.
Before leaving the house, I say one good thing about how I look.
When I find myself sizing myself up against someone else, I remember that person has insecurities too and that we can look different and both still look good.
I exercise and make good choices for my body.
I spend quality time with people who make me feel good about myself.

Been picking watercolor back up recently, and wanted to try another flock member. Thalia from Unthinkable (by @ii-thiscat-ii ), right after the attack. (Design based on her description in Static Worms)
Sketch:
Final:
The colors don’t appear very well through the screen, so they look a bit dull.
I’m still not sure about the blue blood, but I chose it bc of the term “blue blooded” initially meaning being descended from literal gods, and therefore being higher life form than mortals. You can see where I used to have red blood instead.
I honestly don’t know if i like the sketch more, but I’m still very proud of how the watercolor turned out, with the attempted shading and pose

So we all know Luis has a scar from Las Plagas, which implies he needed surgery to get it out... but who did the surgery? Did he do it on himself? Did this man perform a major surgery on himself to remove the parasite pieces after he killed it (I assume that he needed to remove the parts that died, as Leon and Ashley seemed to only need the laser machine to do kill it in the game)? Or was his not at an advanced stage yet so he only needed to stun it/mostly kill it before going in a removing it? How long did it take him? Did he have to break because he was worried he was going to pass out/actually pass out from the freakiness of it all/his hands were shaking so bad/he got bloody and didn't want to drop his tools?

The way this makes it sound and the reaction of the comments is so silly. Like as much as i hate certain wingers in the n*h*l we know geno respects the guy's skill and wouldn't consider 'winger' a demotion. And even ignoring that guy i hate, there's other guys on the wing who are stars - just look at artemi's season mr #3 in points. Geno was just saying he plays center and not wing - two different roles. Putting geno on the wing regularly would look about as silly as watching the rare occasion when poor artemi tries to take a face off if troch gets himself kicked out lol. Like there's shuffling lines and ice time, but shuffling roles in a game feels like a much more significant difference. It also completely ignores the main function of a center - to be the play maker which i imagine requires a lot more awareness of the game as a whole, and leadership, and that thing called 'hockey sense' or whatever. Geno has that - he's proven it over and over through decades at this point - that doesnt go away even if speed or endurance shifts with age.
Tldr - geno had every right to 'bristle' at that suggestion

whats your favourite sculpture youve made
That's a hard one. Lunaspis maybe? But I'm not sure if I like this one so much necessarily because I made it or just because "Fishy :)", ya know?
Scratchy is my masterpiece though, as far as technical achievements go.

One issue I personally have with WOF that I don't see brought up often is the tonal inconsistencies. It's especially noticeable in TFoH for me. Freedom felt like a tonal mess because one second she'd be explaining how she had been trapped with her tormentor for five thousand years and the next she'd be making some qUiRkY quip or joke. Idk, just something I noticed
Yeah it's really quite annoying. In the ladder half of arc 3 I feel it's most apparent. One chapter it'll be a baby babbling to themselves or CAPS LOCK SCREAMING and the next it'll be "I have been in unimaginable amounts of pain and suffering and there is no way for me to escape" before then going instantly back to something else.
Freedom is such a messy character in of itself. You can't introduce a character like her halfway through the last book, spend most of her screentime having her yell at Luna and Dusky, then suddenly make her character do a 180 after seeing Gay People and want to be good now. Yeah yeah "oh it's so sad that she gave herself up for the greater good" and all but like...she's not a great character.
I think it's mostly because it seems like Tui is really burnt out on WoF. Like she gets bored constantly and tries to add in jokes or hold down a single key for a bit longer than she should. It really is quite jarring when it's all silly and wacky before then instantly being hit against with a character calling somebody a "bozo".
