It's when someone decides to take most or all of the "onceler" aspects out of their onceler OC, so that they become a regular OC without any ties to the onceler. The change doesn't necessarily have to happen instantly either, like maybe they've been rping and making so many headcanons for their onceler OC that over the months or years their onceler OC barely has any connection to the onceler anymore, not in looks, not in goals, not in backstory, not in personality or interests, nothing, and they look back and realize, hey, it might be fun to officially deoncelerize and go nuts with creativity! But the general etiquette is that a onceler OC is a onceler OC so long as the creator still says so.

[link 1] The very first deoncelerized onceler askblogs (we called them onceler askblogs back then instead of onceler ocs). It started in our Thneedville High AU. At the beginning it was just people having fun with headcanons for what their oncelers would be like if they weren't oncelers, and gradually it became a whole movement where people actually decided to change their characters permanently.

Which is funny since one of the big reasons that deoncelerization was proposed in the first place was because the purists in the fandom were very vocal about HATING the fact that some ppl were letting their onceler askblogs deviate too much from canon movie onceler. (The fandom by november 2012 was very divided between AU askblog enjoyers and canon movie purists (i personally have always liked both canon and askblogs tho)) And then people became upset thinking that deoncelerization meant the end of the onceler fandom. 😂 No way!!!

There are people from outside of the fandom who have posted onceler fandom analyses claiming that the fandom disappeared overnight at the end of 2012 due to deoncelerization or due to imploding from too many askblogs deviating too far away from canon. This is NOT true. Like sure, maybe some ppl deoncelerized because they didn't want to associate with the fandom anymore, and we respected their decision if so. But from my experience many deoncelerized characters continued to interact with oncelers or other lorax characters, and people in the onceler fandom continued to follow and enjoy the stories of characters who got deoncelerized. The onceler fandom will always be the friends we've made along the way and I mean this so seriously.

Idk if you ever answered this before but why did Spook talked differently than others? As like why it sounded like it was stuttering or mixing up slight words

i don't think i've answered it on this blog actually. i don't talk about it much in general.

so when spook was originally Spooktre. he had carved up his face and it was still in tatters, never to heal, because of a curse. so when he spoke, he couldn't get his lips to move right to form lip-heavy sounds because of the physical damage. that's why he held Fs and Vs longer. the Ss were just to make him sound spooky

he also spoke in italics to emphasize...spooky. yaknow. he also spoke in rhyme but obviously teen spook did Not do that

anyeeways i kept the vibe with teen spook obviously just to like..yknow it's teen!spooktre! and then deoncelerization happened and then it mostly became for the Brand. i did have in mind it had nerve damage because of its own older wounds and that's why the F and V thing stayed, but not the S. ...idk why the italics stayed. #aesthetic or smth

also!!! it makes me really happy you noticed it mixes up words sometimes!!! that's something i decided to put in mainly when i was thinking of deehawken!spook because i was thinking a lot about its trauma with its dad n all that. it was straight up mute for a lonngg time and when it started getting therapy for that, it still didn't like talking much (or at all) and decided "why say many word when few word do trick" was its motto. and that was especially clear with deehawken spook because its age woulda placed it in active speech therapy. so it's working on it, but not quite there.

i didn't do great showing it on regular teen!spook's blog (there's a lot of times i look back and read something and i'm like damn..can you shut up this is so ooc to be saying so much), but. that was supposed to continue to be a thing. that spook always tries to find the shortest and most blunt way to say anything when speaking to not have to say too much because saying too much = bad feels/vulnerability/just doesn't like to + it has issues keeping up with what its saying vs. what the other person's saying vs. the noise in its head + i didn't go full word salad but that was always something in the back of my mind when i was writing it having a hard time with dialogue and i always thought it'd struggle with trying to make sense + use the right words

Obviously i wasn't the best at trying to represent spook's mental issues and disorders fully and i definitely wrote and made decisions i wouldnt make today that were uhhh... cringe. but not in the cool-cringe way. in the. i'm actually cringing bro how old are you writing this. kinda way. but i did do a lot of research and reading into stuff for it so i knew??? the ideas?? but for some reason i let old cringy takes take over sometimes. but. ya live n learn

but yeah, basically the speech stuff was a mix of physical damage + neurodivergence

for uhhh..spook now? i don't keep anything but the bluntness + issues with words. the italics, long Ss, Fs, and Vs are all phased out because, to be honest, it's tacky LMAO. i get why i did it, but i don't like it anymore.

Hii hope this isnt a weird thing to ask but do you have any tips on how to deoncelerize characters from media you dont like anymore? Seeing you talk about it made me feel inspired to do the same with this one game I dont like anymore but have an intense attachment to ceirtain characters from it. Again, so sorry if thats a weird thing to ask, have a good day.

theres no right or wrong way to deoncelerize a character, the hardest part is learning to stop associating them with their source media (though thatll get easier over time!). otherwise heres some tips for oc-ifying them

change up their design to your liking!! personally, i use this "telephone" method where i redraw characters over and over from memory while tacking on extra traits i like to test things out. generally i do this with all of my designs before deoncelerization so i spend less time on this when im actually oc-ifying characters

figure out what you wanna do with them! do you want to give them their own ocverse? do you want to add them into an already existing ocverse you have? wanna turn them into a fan-oc for another interest you have? do you wanna just make them a standalone doodle character? figuring out what you wanna do with them can help figure out how you want to revise them

not always necessary, but change up their character a bit!

i guess this is related to the above tip but you can also change up their name, esp when they have a unique/recognizable name. i changed my benrey deoncelerization to Bert

do Not be scared of mischaracterization when it comes to deoncelerization. the whole point is to disassociate a character from their source, if you dont wanna make them resemble their source then thats COMPLETELY FINE

thats all i can think of right now. you do not HAVE to conform to all of these tips ofc. you can deoncelerize characters and have them look exactly like their original counterpart. it all depends on mental perception of the character and disassociating them with their source. ALWAYS REMEMBER to have fun and play and do anythang u want forever

Hi, i feel like ranting about my hyperfixation on this side blog. You'll see why, maybe, but yk. It will be below the read more in case people dont want to see anything fnaf related on their dash

Ok, so you know how a lot of people will go. "This will be like the onceler fandom again, oh no," to like any character that gets even a smidge popular.

Well I believe what makes the onceler fandom the onceler fandom is these principles:

-creating content of the same character over and over and possibly making different versions of them in aus

- being kind to others and having a strong sense of community (bonus points if many know each other)

- and ofc a strong love of the lorax movie, but that can be replaced with any fandom.

Now, what makes this rant hyperfixation/fnaf related is that I believe a character from fnaf has reached onceler fandom status. The Daycare Attendant. (Aka Sun and Moon)

This character has been drawing over and over in different aus, and different ways over the past 2 years and a half. Over this time I've noticed many of the people following the same trends that the Onceler fandom took. There are askblogs, aus so cit off from the source material that rhey "deFnafized" or whatever their version of deoncelerization would be.

These creators are so kind to each other and inclusive to everyone. They even have fandom wide events too.

Anyway, that's all i really wanted to ramble about bc i just realized how long the Daycare Attendent Fandom has been up and running so strongly as well as more people getting frustrated when some use the whole "they are becoming the onceler fandom" phrase without said character getting like that.

restart completely. this would be epic bc i dont rember what was going on w him. i also want to change his story and personality a little. im leaning toward this one but my only hang up is that idk what to do abt the older posts.. i dont want to delete them and i dont wanna make a new blog so hm

second option is a time skip where hes an aftermath instead which would probs be a bit easier (but not easier to draw O_O) but i do need to think this one out a bit more

hoo boy here we go. this is gonna be a long post.

hi! im lemon, and i started this blog on april 2nd 2012. and today, april 22nd 2021, im posting beanpole’s last message here. its been one hell of a ride.

how it all started i was 15, spending time on tumblr, when i suddenly started seeing people posting about this movie that was about to be released soon, called the lorax. now, im not american, so i had never really heard of dr seuss, but people were so enthusiastic! so i watched a shitty cam-rip of the movie and joined the fandom. 

and then the askblogs started, the first one i came across being swag, of course. i had run askblogs for other fandoms before, so i wanted to join in on the fun. but regular once-ler was already taken... and green suit once-lers, and audrey and ted too... so i had to come up with something original. 

the movie started with the once-ler leaving home and his family showing just how awful they were, and i started thinking, ‘man, his childhood mustve sucked..’ ‘haha what if i made a blog about once-ler when he was my age?’ 

an impulse decision that somehow gained me 100 followers in a week. somehow relatable tumblr teen once-ler was relatable to 2012 tumblr. who couldve known? 

i get kinda emotional looking back at it, honestly. people were so fun and creative. id stay up late to keep talking to people (bc timezones are hell). and i had a lot of fun just pretending to be a flawed boy, one who seemed nice but could be rather snarky, who would lie and break promises at the drop of a hat, but only because he didnt know any better, not out of malice. and i couldnt have done it without you all. i never wouldve known that he hates tomatoes, or likes celine dion, or wears the same thneed every dang day just because that happened to be his icon. 

was it silly to get obsessed with a childrens movie? maybe. but i had a great time.  (im also happy to see there are still people in the fandom that are carrying on the legacy... you guys rock)

truffula flu i think most people that remember bp remember him from truffula flu’s camp entre, over at youngbeansprout... a blog ive sadly lost the password to. im a big baby so i never thought id enjoy writing about something as scary as zombies, but i saw my friends doing it so i went in blind, without any idea on a backstory for the au or whatever.  ....which is probably why he wasnt always all that prominent in the story, haha. well, that, and timezones. 

it was probably an even wilder time than running this blog was, because there was actual plot. and people would liveblog it. and make fanart. and cosplay??? someone out there? cosplayed my oc to a convention? its one of those things that make you go. huh. i made something cool. probably never gonna reach that high ever again, but it sure is a fond memory. i still have a folder on my computer with all the fanart and it still brings a smile to my face.

also... i never did get to finish zombie au’s story, but i did plan how it would end. so if youve managed to read this far, congratulations! youve hit the hidden deep lore.

so the thing with truffula flu was that entre made the trees fucked up, right? and those spores would turn ppl into zombies. and of course you could become a zombie from being bitten, but it also traveled through the air...

everyone in camp entre (who wasnt immune or already infected) wore a gasmask, a bandana, something to cover their mouth. bp, who wandered into the apocalypse by accident, did not. he didnt even know. 

so little by little, the spores gathered in his lungs, until he realized. oh no. im getting sick. oh no. oh no oh no oh no. he messed around audrey’s equipment to confirm he was infected, and he got scared. he was a scared kid and he was going to die.

except. ted had handed him a cure for safe-keeping. a cure bp had sworn to protect with his life. but it could save him, right? in a moment of cowardice, he uses it on himself... only to find out there never was a cure.  (now heres the part where my memory gets fuzzy but) the ‘’’cure’’’ was given to ted, who was already slightly rotting, meant as a mercy kill. the people who gave him the cure assumed he would use it on himself.

except ted was a good kid, who wanted to use the cure to help others. and beanpole? his lies and broken promises came back to bite him in the ass, and he died sudden and alone. the end. :)

ANYWAY

the end of an era ive wanted to wrap this blog up for several years now but i never knew how. younger me wanted to give him a happy ending, which back then i thought was getting him a girlfriend. 

but as i got older, i realized... not everything can be fixed with a relationship. he’d have to learn to overcome his flaws by himself, learn his lesson about honesty and sincerity and the dangers of greed. and then, maybe he’ll have a happy ending.

so as he rides into the sunset on this day, imagine. maybe he’ll end up cutting down a forest and regretting it the rest of his life. maybe he’ll become a rock-star. an inventor. a teacher. a gentleman. a cannibal? okay, maybe not that one or maybe he’ll continue traveling forever, singing songs about boredom.

who knows? there’s infinite possibilites out there.

Buckle up and let me take you on a journey of meta, madness, and things going very very strangely as best as I can recall.

March 2nd, 2012: a movie came out. This movie was an adaptation of the beloved Dr. Seuss story, The Lorax. It took quite a few liberties with the story, expanding to fit a full-length movie, and while it wasn’t great it was okay, fun movie for the kids, etc etc.

One of the liberties taken was giving the character, the Once-ler, a face, more detailed backstory, and more personality, creating a beanpole character with a sarcastic streak, hobbies, and so on. YMMV on whether or not these were good changes, but personally I liked them as they gave more depth to the character and story in general. Made watching his fall both heartwrenching and satisfying because he fucked up so badly and was blinded by ambition and greed and anon are you seriously making me dredge up feelings for a character I haven’t really thought about in depth for years

AHEM. That meta has been covered over and over and that’s not what this is about. Anyway, basically he was a really appealing character and fandom does as fandom will and latched onto him. Lots of fanart, meta analysis, excitement, and general newly-born fandom fun. It was just like any other fandom, really, only quite singularly focused.

It was unusual in the hyperfocus on a single character, but other than that it was actually nice and an enjoyable experience in those early days.

And then it was realized that, unlike so many other fandoms, there was no one to ship the Once-ler with. Well, okay, not true, but I mean as in following the standard shipping formula in fandoms (i.e. major characters who interact on screen and both look good, etc.) So like… this was a problem? I guess? But a ‘solution’ was found, and that was to take the Once-ler, and double him. More accurately, take the Once-ler as he was pre-success and ship him with his slightly older, insanely successful self, easily identified by the clothes they were wearing. Kind of ignoring that his personality never really changed so it was basically selfcest and just all around was very confusing and odd.

Thusly was the (often of dubiously consensual nature) Oncest born.

At the same time, another alarming discovery had been made: because there was only one character everyone focused on, there was only one character you could actually RP or make askblogs for (this is an exaggeration, there were other characters from the movie who did get RPed and askblogged but everyone wanted to be THE Once-ler on tumblr) How do you stand out? Slap on an adjective or make a gimmick for your askblog. Swag Once-ler, One-ler, Creep-ler, Insert-Word-Here-Ler. It got so out of hand that people started seizing URLs to prevent an askblog from being created.

You think that’s an exaggeration but it’s not. It really is not.

So what happens when the two inevitably collide? Askblog shipping. So much askblog shipping. AUs upon AUs upon AUs crashing into each other, each a variation of the same character, increasingly more loosely so, eventually drifting so far from the canon material that they were Once-lers in name only. It was an oversaturation.

I have to admit, at the time I enjoyed following the shenanigans of the askblogs, and even really liked some of the AUs (Truffula Flu was actually very well done and emotional), but it did get to be too much. And for those of us who got into the fandom because we liked the movie character, the dwindling focus on canon was a disappointment. And though my personal experience in the fandom wasn’t too bad, there were… incidents of hostility towards some members of the fandom, to the point where a notable divide appeared between certain BNAFs. The BNAFs, to their credit, were not hostile to each other, but their followers did not always hold to such grace.

Honestly, a lot of stuff that pops up in fandoms in general, but exacerbated in the Once-ler fandom due to everyone focusing on the same character and how limited the source material really was. And, I don’t know, it just got a little too much for a lot of people. Was it really the Once-ler fandom anymore? Or was everyone just using the label to describe the fandom for the OCs that had developed (because so many were practically OCs at that point).

Not to mention AUs of AUs. How about teenaged high school versions of the askblogs? This was probably the breaking point, really, when the main askblogs realized that they were hardly Once-ler blogs anymore, and so the high school AUs were 'deoncelerized�� and made into proper OCs, while the original blogs were left behind and rarely updated anymore. Which was actually sad in a few cases, because at least one of the main blogs did make attempts to stick to canon while interacting with the other blogs, but so it goes.

Eventually the fandom faded into the background noise of tumblr, until now.

So there you have it. A crash-course on the Once-ler fandom, as told by an ex-Onceling.

Oh, did I mention that one time where some genius told Ed Helms (the voice actor of the Once-ler) about Oncest? And someone else explained it to him? And this got broadcast online during an interview from Funny or Die? Because that happened.

One last note, to keep from ending this on the negative note of the last paragraph: I, personally, still like the original 2012 incarnation of the Once-ler. He was a fun character, and honestly I think a large part of my drifting out of the fandom had to do with the fact that there just wasn’t very much canon material going around after a while. The stuff I got into the fandom for just wasn’t being produced anymore.

So really, if the Once-ler fandom returns as it was in those early days, for the character from the movie and not the many AU incarnations, then honestly, how bad can it possibly be?

Please oh wise one who was here before me, I beseech thee to tell me of this Onceler and his fandom. I hear tales of great and mighty horror of this character and the havoc he wrought upon the great Hell Site. (Seriously what was up with the Onceler fandom that made it so infamous?)

Well, fellow crablet, it was mostly because there was just so MUCH of it. Onceler fandom generated a meteric poop-ton of art/fics/aus by itself. There were probably over 100 individual oncelers over the whole run, if not more (I made more than 20 myself) and people LOVED each of them individually. Like there were Oncelings (fans) that liked Gent (gentleman onceler) for example, but they HATED or didn’t know about Eatler (a onceler who ate oncelers).

Speaking of Eat, there were a lot of different facets to the fandom as well. There was a creepy side where Oncelers like Eat, Mons (my personal favorite, basically a giant man eating creeper possessed by Gluttony himself), Oneler (general cannibal), and Heinousler (a sweet but horribly disfigured and magically body-twisted guy) lived. Then there were more normal oncelers like Gent and Swag and even Steam (steampunk). There were joke ones, too, like one (still around in fact) who’s basically just a duck in onceler clothing and body. Also, if it existed, there was a Onceler version for it. Like there was a Onceler for Bioshock, I did one for Wreck-it Ralph, there’s one that exists right now that is Jurassic World, etc,etc.

AUs were a big thing (as in the Undertale fandom now). We had Thneedville High (highschool au) and Truffula Flu (zombie apocalypse au). Both had their own stories and were separate from the main blogs but with mostly the same big name players in them.

There were even spin off fandoms. Like the Gluttony that possessed Mons was actually his own character, part of the Personifications fandom. Then for a while there was a personified drinks fandom that was separate too. they got into a life of their own. I think both of those are pretty dead now as well, sadly. I was Imagination for a while in the personifications, for example.

And there was a lot of drama going on. The more famous blogs (One, Swag, Entre (entrepreneur), 76 (the onceler from the original 1976 short cartoon) ) would always get asks and M!As and do these big story lines while the rest of us would get nearly nothing. And this carried over to AUs as well, though I think some of the smaller blogs got more views there. And the ship wars and fights between various mods were horrible.

Also, after the original Truffula Flu ended, a lot of steam left the fandom. We tried to get an AU up of War Against Oncelers (a dystopian sort of AU where oncelers are persecuted) but it didn’t even get off the ground.

Most people moved on after that, either deoncelerizing (making their oncelers into the OCs by just stripping the onceler look and lable) or dropping it altogether. There are a lot fewer now, and we’re all relatively happy, I think, and without the Onceler fandom, I would never have come to Tumblr. I met my best friends through that fandom, and we have mostly fond memories of it. 

Essentially, the “oh noes oncelers” usually comes from those who were not there for it or were not part of it at the time, or maybe the ones who had bad experiences. Sans is good, Tama’s no where even on the same planet as him, and Oncie is still one of my treasured faves.

How did you manage to stay dedicated to one fandom all these years?

1) There was never anything strong enough to pull me completely away from the fandom, like nothing has compared to how happy, excited and obsessed I was in 2012, though you could say I've shifted to just stuff surrounding my Audrey oc now, but I suppose that's still within fandom boundaries.

2) I've had a lot of little shifts over the years though, because the fandom kept creating new AUs, askblogs and content. 2012 had Camp weehawken au, thneedville high au, truffula flu au, the latter two kept going in 2013, and thneedville high (deoncelerized to Thornville high) kept going through to 2014, then 2015 saw a fandom revival and many new askblogs were made, then camp weehawken came back full swing in 2016 and 2017 and I participated this time with my first actual rp blog (lunchladymiru), then in 2018 truffula flu got revived in a small discord community so I joined that and started developing my Audrey oc more, then the discord server moved to beach au in 2019, etc. And within all those years I haven't even mentioned the side projects I completed including my Audrey askblog, my fandom newspaper Thneed Times, my 7212 archive blog, my beach au archive blog, all of which kept me busy. So you see, there was always something to do.

3) Another follow-up to my first point: fandom culture in general has changed over the years imo, making it hard to feel a sense of genuine community anywhere anymore and therefore hard to go as deep into a new fandom as I did for the onceler fandom. A lot more minors now, a lot of cancel culture, a lot more ironic memeing. If I watched the lorax for the first time right now I wouldn't join the fandom because I've grown out of fandoms in general. I joined the onceler fandom in 2012 very naturally because it was a prime time for ppl to be cringe and free.

4) I'm familiar with it and it's just what I know. I don't have to even stay a fan of it. I can see a fanart from 2012 that has been stolen and reposted somewhere without credit and still be able to tell you "Oh my friend [Onceling A] drew that for their friend [Onceling B]! It was to cheer them up after [some event that had upset them]" like I can't really get away from the fandom even if I want to? It's just ingrained in me by now. Onceler fandom is my culture.

5) Friends. The most important contributing factor of how and why I'm still here. People outside the fandom (or people who were only in the fandom for less than a few months) will make analyses saying how oncest and askblog shipping kept the fandom going. They're wrong. It was friendships and the longing for friendships. I wouldn't have lasted if not for adding fandom friends to skype, and later to discord, and talking to them everyday, creating together and supporting each other thru good times and bad. I'm not the only OG fan who is still here.

6) I'm just a dedicated person.

🍀 - What originally inspired the OC?

so when camp entre (truffula flu) was in its death throes, i kinda saw the end coming over the horizon and was already thinking "well, i'm really attached to a lot of the things we've done here what if i made an original webcomic based on that" and so i had to start populating it

well originally i made andrew to be in entre's spot and he was literally deoncelerized entre (until 2019 when he rly became his own thing w just some similarities) and i'm literally swagtre-obsessed til i die so i was like well obviously i want to recreate a similar dynamic so i literally made ace to be andrew's love-interest and foil. that's why i include swag as one of his inspirations and it's..kinda obvious too. but trufflu swag-mod was fine w the obvious inspiration so it's all good

now we get to the next part of ace's development. so when i made him he was kinda just..on the backburner but! i got the idea to try and put him in thneedville/thornville high and develop him there, but i Also wanted there to be more girl charas in the au and i was like "well i think his personality would be really interesting in a girl chara" so i made him a girl for my concept for that au

him and his twin (was gonna be run by spike/rocky's mod) they were Ace and Anna (i think..) he still has the kinda original look here even if i made it a bit more feminine. he also doesnt have a twin anymore. i joke he absorbed her in the womb and that's why he's so lucky.

bc the thing i kept was when i originally made him (cis male), his name was gonna be Dwayne and he just chooses to go by Ace bc its a cooler name. and when i made him a girl his name was gonna be equally embarrassing so he..still ended up going by Ace. (i kept it. it's his deadname now LMAO) bc after the highschool au was a Flop for me, i was like well no i want him to be a guy again but decided to make him trans bc i didnt have a trans chara yet and i thought it was Time, especially as a trans man myself, to have a chara with those sorts of experiences like me :3

i was attached to the name Ace bc 1. its fkn cool 2. i always knew i wanted him to be asexual so. the puns 3. there's a lot more puns to be made w a name like Ace and it just fit his demeanor and stuff and the way he loves doing stuff with cards (cardtricks, poker, etc) there's a lot of weight on his name being Ace and i love it

his full name is Ace Dale Miller. and it was meant to sound redneck af. being someone born n raised in mississippi, i know the culture very well LMAO and so his middle name is bc his dad (regardless of being born afab) gave him that middle name bc of Dale Earnhardt. and Miller comes from the beer of the same name. bc that was a thing i wanted was his discontent and disconnect from his roots but never fully escaping them

in his mainverse (zombie apoc comic whenever that happens) i keep him early-mid 30s and typically that's the age-range i default to and have done the most to Set Up for. i like him being old enough to make a name for himself and be Set (before whatever plot happens to tear it all apart) and also being in that age but having the tendencies of a manbaby. it's funni to me

however in the cult au i want to eventually get running on a blog, he's going to be a senior in high school and being a teen is the general age-range i go for for that au

i'm a chronic multi-shipper especially with my own ocs, so he's had flings with a lot of my friends' and former-friends' ocs, but the main chara i default to (and is canon in his canon universes) is Andrew :3

his favorite things to do: be right, be correct, other people be wrong but not him, mobile games like candy crush, poker, card-tricks, darts, billiards, blackjack, craps, you get the idea he likes to gamble and do stuff you find in bars, he also likes singing, he also likes getting his way by any means necessary like it's a thrill for him to outplay and even manipulate other people so that things end up in his favor when luck isn't already working for him, he likes to show off but only when it works and people fawn over him for being so cool and skilled. oh yeah he also lowkey likes pranks and trolling ppl but he doesn't do it a ton? so i wouldn't call him A Prankster, but he does enjoy it.

he hates doing things that are the opposite of all that. like he hates being wrong, loathes losing, he hates being bored, hates getting dirty, hates too much manual labor, hates being inconvenienced especially in the smallest ways (but he does like a Challenge so this isn't the same thing as that), he hates emotions especially confronting or even recognizing his own that aren't happy good time emotions, he hates crying (him or other ppl)

the thing about him is he complains and bitches and moans about the smallest shit but if something Big and Serious were to happen to him either emotionally or physically, he'd play it off like he's fine. he's okay (he promises). like he'll whine about a paper cut all day but catch him with a mortal wound tearing through his middle and he'll hide it and march on til the blood-loss gets him. he's just That Guy.
