I made an image of my OC Ranmaru inspired by the Overblot Abnormalis AU by @takeachillpillshawty (sorry for the surprise tag lol (⁠;⁠ŏ⁠﹏⁠ŏ⁠)) - the image is of Ranmaru if he was infected, inspired by the art of infected Ace ✧⁠◝⁠(⁠⁰⁠▿⁠⁰⁠)⁠◜⁠✧

I tried to make his neck look unnaturally long and strained, like the infection is forcing him to stretch that way. The background was pulled from the game wiki and crunched up with the editing available in IbisPaint X

This was my first time drawing horror art in general, I was kinda worried that it would end up looking goofy but I think it turned out well. (　＾▽＾)

there are four stages of the infection.

I already elaborated on stage 1 Discortion, look at some past post if you didn't catch it.

Stage 2: Lunaniacal (Luna-nia-cal)- this stage is where things ramp up, dark veins are visible on the infected. This is the stage where the body starts to change, in this case it's internally, at this point the infected's blood is fused with blot making it harder to flush out. This is where the body is most weak as the blot slowly starts affecting the organs of the body, slowly turning it to blot.

The person will start experiencing hallucinations, seizures, and aggression, think of it like rabies. Unfortunately the infection will cause them to have a negative reaction to food, except for meat of any kind( side note: if the infected at this stage tries to eat food like fruits or vegetables the infection will see this as a threat and forces the person to vomit it all out, even if they're starving). The difference between this and stage one is that the infected are visibly weaker, pale skin and dark circles around their eyes, this also affects their magic as well rendering the infected magicless for now.

Stage 3: Nullied (Nul-lied)- the point of no return, this is where the change happens physically. Now this can vary person to person, but the common thing is that their faces look uncanny. Like a mask of flesh about to fall off any second. The infected starts to violently lash out, now drained of all of their nutrients they need to feed...now... And how do they feed? Magic and blot. They need the blot and magic from other people to feed them, the blot from another infected person is basically poison\ rot to them.

The infected at that point loses their humanity, and sense of self. Only priority is to feed and hunt. At this stage they are extremely fast and agile making hunting much more easier.

Stage 4: Abnormalis (Ab-nor-ma-lis)- the final stage, this is where the infected most powerful. Now a distorted monster, able to use their unique magic to their fullest abilities. What makes this final stage so dangerous is that...they look normal, like they were never were infected in the first place. They will use psychological warfare to lead in more victims for the feeding, mostly targeting the infected's close friends and family using their likeness to lure them in a false sense of security to go in for the kill making the victim see their horrifying true form.

Note: the infected are fully aware of what's what's happening but can't do anything to stop it.

But quick question:

What kind of apocalypse is the au based off? Cause I just finished watching some uncanny valley videos and I thought that maybe the students turn Into horrifying mutated monsters

and also, will any of our home boys get infected?

Ok, wow. That was quick, firstly I'm still thinking of where the plot of the story may go. A person commented on the Jack post I made saying how this reminded them of the MLP infection aus, and I'm just gonna say it straight up....it's inspired by it.

I just wanted to make one of those but for Twst, 'Overblot Abnormalis' is the name of the Au and infection.

I still working on the story \ plot of this lil project but I can confirm some things

This is going to be dark, I want this to be scary not in a disgusting gross gore blood way but something that will stick with you and have meaning behind it way. So I will delve into dark subject matters, and do some research on them so it won't come off as offensive or gross.

The characters won't act like their game counterpart, I can't promise they'll be accurate (I mean I don't know how they'll react to a student being mawled to death.), but I'll try to work with what I got.

There is gonna be angst. Lots of it, I'm not letting these boys rest.

There will be some ships involved, it won't be outright but implied.

Where will I take this au?

I have two options,

option 1: Just make it a semi fanfic with drawings

Option 2: if this gets enough traction and attention I'll let you guys decide on how the story progress with the polls. Like a game of some sort.

Please keep in mind

I'm busy with school and home life, there will be times I post and times I won't have the motivation to even draw. So hiatus will be inevitable, I'm not the best artist and I'm doing this project for fun. Thank you for understanding.

Is Yuu in the au?

Yuu Prefect will be in the story, I wanted to put my self in but that sounds like a Mary Sue move....

Basically Yuu found a way back home at the end of book five, it's also an alternate timeline where the group won the SDC instead of Neige and the dwarves.

The infection happened a week after they left, and instead of them finding Grim and getting scratched it's Ace. Making him the first person infected.

I don't want to give away too much, but Yuu will be summoned again to Twisted Wonderland. It will be a 2 year time skip from the current character cards I'm making, so characters will be aged up. And NO, there won't be any NSFW of the aged up first years ( I hate fanfics like that.) The only I can confirm is a little cuddle and kissing.

It will be hinted that Yuu\Prefect will be the cure for what the hell is going on.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to make an update to the Overblot Abnormalis Au. It's kinda hard to find the motivation to draw right now... But don't worry, I will still be continuing the Au. I have to admit, I'm not the best at drawing poses or anatomy and angles, despite drawing for years I still have some more learning to do. Hey maybe when I'm done posting this I'll have the motivation to draw again, but I doubt that. I just wanted to keep everyone updated, thanks for sticking around.

Can the infected be saved?

It depends on what stage of Overblot Abnormalis

Stage 1: can be saved when cure is found

Stage 2: will take time to recover when given the cure

Stage 3: a 50\50 chance of turning back to normal

Stage 4: gone. Just gone. Not even the cure can save them now, they lost all sense of humanity and sense of self.

I have a question, that being what is Grim doing in the Infection AU? Is he in the same state as Ace, or is he the same as before? Is he even alive?

Do he and the others know that he is the cause for this, or will they ever know?

(Also, I really like your AU, even if I generally don’t like horror. I very quickly got invested.)

Grim is being held at S.T.Y.X after biting Ace and being the main cause of the outbreak. Idia and others are still working on a cure but the virus is spreading fast.

I already confirmed that Ace is the first infected student. His whereabouts is unknown at this point. If seen it's recommended not to come in contact with him, but to report any sighting of him to the head mage.
