I don't talk about turbo duels much, because I think I speak for most people in that I just don't play them often. It's cool that they're here, adds to the immersion of the 5D's World Championship series, but the limitations of Speed Spells mean there's just not as many options for deck building. When I DO make turbo decks though, I tend to play three each of Speed Spell - Overboost and Speed Spell - Shift Down, alongside one copy of the Continuous Trap, Full Throttle. This allows me to gather Speed Counters and draw cards fast enough that the slower pace of Turbo Duels isn't as much of a problem

Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs. 2 OverBoost - Gundam Exia Repair 1 vs Barbatos Lupus Rex
(they really need to stop blueballing with these graphics if they're not going to drop an animation. Cmon man, as of 2025 00 Gundam is almost 20 years old now. At least 30-60 seconds of sakuga, give us something)

no cooling, no shielding, all night, all day, from southern Belius to the wall, from the Watchpoint to Grid 086, from the central ice field to the spaceport, from Xylem to the Closure Satellite, standard, reverse, quad, tank, hover, while I gasp for AP, scream and overboost into the light, kinetic, laser, plasma, melee, and coral

brain full of ac6 thoughts and bouncing off ideas with my good friend fae into an unorganized list of neat things that occur in the rubicon star system:
the boosts and overboosts on ACs are whack. i assume they're in units of km/h and it's really easy to get a light build to shoot over 400, which is heavy forces on a pilot when quick turn exists. all that to say drag races or something of the sort ( or even flying obstacle courses ) exists in both a legal and illegal sense. ripping out overboosts and winning competitions would be a nonlethal way of picking up some cash in between missions and gaining a reputation. all that heart pumping hype but without getting blasted.
old generation surgeries for augmentation still exist as a cheap but dangerous way to obtain enhancements for piloting. new gen augmentations removed the use of coral as the augment, which adds a degree of safety in making sure little to no undesired side effects occur—however, it's an expensive procedure, and typically recipients are sponsored through the corporations they work for. some few could pay out of pocket. although coral has been all but closed off for commercial use outside of rubicon 3, it still circulates in the black market due to it's incredible efficiency as a fuel source, recreational drug use, and also for the more risky augmentation procedures.
the arena exists in both simulation as coordinated by ALLMIND as well as physically as another type of "sport". while the virtual arena exists separately on rubicon 3 to profile mercenaries there either legally or illegally, participants in neighboring stars have their own separate rankings that can be utilized without having to put their AC at risk. however. it's way more cooler doing the arena in person. big boom booms and potential sponsorships to cover wrecking one's AC.
unlike the frozen wasteland that is rubicon 3, the neighboring planets actually have some level of habitable land above ground. although highly industrialized, trees exist. that's a nice plus.
interplanetary travel is a normalized concept, and frequently in practice, especially for corporations that handle weapons manufacturing and parts production. many of them have hubs on each planet for physical fabrication, and transporting commerce is possible. keeping cargo free of obstacles is a pocket change, but work exists for pilots to escort cargo between planets.
corporate wetwork is also it's own underground system. independents and corporate mercs alike can participate if they feel up to abandoning their morals. it's not uncommon to see some espionage occur to keep hold of market shares. anything can be done at the right price. while rubicon 3 is relatively lawless in regards to protecting assets, even interplanetary regulations can't always protect a fab lab from being blown up if a competitor is willing to pay for such an operation ( a common type of mission, especially in the older games ).
how many planets are there in rubicon? well. at least three. could be more!

there's suddenly something I want to talk about the boy ever guel jeturk. in arsenal base, when he does his special move, the line he says is (paraphrased) "this is my fight! mine and mine alone!" while in overboost, one of the lines he says is "what happened to Dad was my sin alone. I'm the one who should bear it all!" both lines are respectively from episode 3 and episode 23 and in episode 23, lauda also called him out on his bullshit and accused him of being so damned righteous
especially since the games exist outside of the scope of the canon, this is all purely conjecture. but I think, with the special emphasis on those lines, I think they do a great job highlighting guel's oldest child syndrome. he must have been about 7 or 8 maybe before he met lauda? which means vim at the least had that much time to foist his expectations on him, not just as his father but as the ceo of the family business, which he became solely responsible for. and him being the golden child certainly didn't help
so yeah I think it's just a cool insight on guel's character. I like how the lines can seem so cool and emotional but at the same time, how they actually highlight guel's weaknesses in terms of his individuality. I have a lot of thoughts and feelings about guel's individuation and the ending he got but just to wrap things up, I just like how the lines give him a bit more depth when you think about how they relate to his circumstances growing up.

Hi! I saw in your posts that you play FF7EC. I've been having difficulties playing the story mode because the battles get super hard like super early in the game? Like in CC I got stuck in hojo's mission thing after Lazard's task because the minimum battle power requirement is like over 25,000? 30,000? (forgot orz) and I only have Zack alone in the party. Do you have any tips? Should I max out all the chara's levels? I do not want to spend any money on this. At least Dissidia OO's story mode is super easy and grinding up the characters are easier, I didn't need to depend on the gacha too much. In EC it looks like I'm doomed if I don't have the 5+ stars overboosted weapons & gears.
(Also what's up with this combat power thing? Is this turning into dragonball now lmao I feel like Vegeta with a scouter..)
They are supposedly lowering the difficulty this month. SUPPOSEDLY being the key word here. Most of the time, they are expecting you to max out the character levels, which is bullshit in my opinion because no one but hardcore players have the time to endlessly grind their characters for hours on end.
As for me, truth be told I stopped physically playing the game. It was too frustrating and I don't expect the gameplay to get any easier, regardless of what they say. It's kind of ridiculous. I mostly stream now for the content so I can get it out to you guys asap. But now that I know there's that alternative, I'm no longer actively involved. I'm sorry. Wish I had some useful tips. I hope it works out for you.

vague idea about a variable (ie. transforming) fighter combat flight action sim where you gradually unlock the ability to bypass safety systems, enabling things like faster transformation, mid- or partial transformation manoeuvres, or repurposing inertial compensation systems as a temporary overboost energy reserve instead of just gradually bleeding out absorbed g-forces, basically starting with something that "mostly" works like an advanced fighter jet and then incrementally taking the laws of physics and breaking them in half over your knee

You know, if Armored Core 6 does turn out to not please a large amount of the existing AC fan base's expectations with the whole hard lock drama, they could make their own. Hell, I expect them to. Go ahead, make an armored core game with hundreds of parts to customize with. Make it so that you have the agility of Armored Core 4 and the FCS lockbox, alongside the overboost and orbital cores of Gen 3/3.5.
I'm not an AC player by any means yet, only having played early missions in any of the games, that would definitely like to see what the fan base makes using the things that they seem to like best about the older games. I can understand why they don't like the hard lock and feel like there are probably some things to make it so that you have to fight to keep it in AC6. I'm not complaining about that drama in any regard, I'm just saying that if it doesn't line up with what the fan base wants then the fan base should make their own game separate from it, especially because with the prices of retro games and the difficulty of finding out of print stuff affordably, It would be important to make a fan game/successor to remind people of those "good old days" of trying your best to keep your opponent in the lockbox while keeping yourself out of theirs.

Kaxen Tries Other ACs
Oh god the control scheme in Armored Core 4 is different and my brain is still calibrated for Armored Core 6... might need to swap everything around....
Not me zooming off the map because overboost is where the left hand weapon is for AC6
Apparently this game considers weapons bay a default feature and I never learned how to use weapons bay in AC6 because I am too fucking stupid.
Even with the auto-swap feature I am like…. AM I HOLDING GUN OR SWORD I DON'T KNOW MAN
Need to change the color of this AC I don't know what I am looking at with a mostly black build
Rayleonard Aaliyah is a lot prettier as a model kit.
Low-key surprised the tutorial mission didn't murder me repeatedly lol
I also tried Ace Combat 7 since it was like $10 and I crashed my jet 2 times and took nearly 20 minutes to finish the tutorial mission…….. on Easy Casual mode klhdfglkdjfgh

The Ace Combat cutscenes are too damn long
