Crown the Pawn: Your ol classic Roleswap Shuake AU but Akechi remembers. goro has to use loki via bluetooth on joker to trigger call of chaos, make him go pyschotic so it maybe unlocks his memory back so they can do shit right. joker isnt very happy with the role he has to play.

Heart of Depth / The Mightiest of Seas (Pirates AU): Ren was a captain at some point and Goro was a pawn for shidos fleet. (its complicated)

Superconduct (Pacific RIM AU): Ren an ex-pilot works on makeshifts jeagers with futaba. Akechi practices solo piloting patrolling and ravaging illegal and unregistered units made outside the corps in the outer suburban areas. The smugglers call him the Black Mask.Akechi finds them scavanging metal components in a discarded unregistered Jaeger(Arsene) in the outer urban areas and he tears Arsene apart. Ren was a perfect Pilot, the best scores, but after something. he starts failing every test. Upon his brief imprisonment and his return his compatibility tests keep failing, he leaves one of the PTs on a comma

Noragami AU: Lowly God Akira, Akechi is Shidos Shinki. working with Nao

Arcana Shuffle AU: NG+ only adults remember, joker isnt fated anymore but like remants of weird power and fate clung to him so instead of waking arsene he wakes the fucking reaper, goro's mother is alive, he has a real life and friends and so makoto is the trickster and haru is the other side of the coin. akechis role here starts when jokers unstable state threatens to break the timeline preventing the main events from happening. Goro awakens Robin and arsene.

HermitFaith AU: NG+ where Akechi and Ren remember, but they awaken memories as soon as the game starts, in the arcana swapped roles of Hermit for Akechi and Faith for Ren. They have to navigate the timeline supervising for the main events to ocur and reach the end of the timeline. Goro has a Palace that happens to look like the Engine room, lol

The Forge (Fantasy AU): Altoi crown prophecy, the cursed throne prince akechi decides he wont be doing and fated prophecy prince duty so he becomes a mage in the Norden lands. Joker is a blacksmith apprentice who is actually a pretty good mage himself, hes from Yongen the Fortress, mining town that legally belongs to Altair. Shido is waging war refusing to doom the kingdom because akechi doesnt want to die for the prophecy lol.(im using an old worldbuilding i really love but i never actually put to action). joker is some sort of ex mage from the velvet ring but his soul-bond died and to everyone in the ring you are supposed to have died with your soul-bond. so he isnt well seen in the Velvet Ring anymore. Lavenza Adopts him as blacksmith for custom catalysts. but like mages are pretencious , and full of shit and joker dislikes them

Sequel covering P5 Strikers is a very distant plan, probably just as some scenes from Strikers and not a whole-ass retelling.

Edit I did because I've wound up roleplaying a bunch of my fic characters, and while teen Akechi from HFAL is a bit too spoilery, baby Goro is not... much XD

Technically his eyes shouldn't be that bright, or he'd be in Hunting Mode, but I figured that for one thing I find it visually pleasing, for another it makes him instantly recognisable as the AU, and for another... kids probably look a bit more obviously Vampire because they can't control their bodies so much yet.

I feel proud to say that I managed a good 1k / half the entire first scene of my rewrite of NFBYL. I'd brainstormed how to fix it with a friend the other day, but earlier I started to get actual ideas of how to start, and it just kept flowing long enough that I had to stop because it's somehow gotten really late.

So! I'm hoping to keep that momentum going into the next parts!

That said, I'm still not promising it'll be posted up really soon, as I'm hoping to get a lot more done first.

So that's the first major scene completely redone, and an estimated approximate 3k in. I still have another half of ch1 to go, and I'm looking forward to how it goes.

Using the previous (still up) chapter one as a base, I’ve now got an outline of how the (new, and improved) chapter one will go. All the same basic beats, but more streamlined and hopefully better written.

I’m planning on re-reading HFAL before I properly start to do the re-write, though, as well as talk through a few things with friends, but it’s all because I want NFBYL/the sequel to be something well worth reading, with the right amount of effort put into it.

If anyone's following me for my P5R Urban Fantasy AU, just to let you know - I'm going to be working on rewriting what I've got do far of the sequel, NFBYL. Because of that, it'll take longer to get it all written snd posted, buy it'll slso be much better when it's done.

I had a go at another one! this one was slightly more difficult because the eyes were bigger and the assumption was, as is expected, that they weren’t going to glow in the dark. So I had to mess around a bit more.

Not canon to the main storyline of the urban fantasy AU, but I’d been wanting to do an edit of vampire!Akira for a while, since there’s a version of the AU where he is one, and huh, this is a great cap for it!

I think that vampire eyes tend to reflect a stronger/more metallic version of whatever their natural eye colour is, so for Akechi his darker red eyes turn bright red, and Akira’s grey-black eyes turn outright silver. Quite pretty, but you don’t want to walk in on Futaba raiding the fridge... or make one of them angry.

I’d imagine it’s possible for them to control this a little, to add to a pretence of humanity; however, it’d be a lot like squinting all the time, or choosing to read in the dark. So, rather uncomfortable.

Okay so in my urban fantasy/vampire au fic, the vampires’ eyes kinda glow in the dark like cat’s eyes, and the other day I saw this screencap and I was like, “I wonder if I can edit that to fit Akechi as he is in the au” so... here it is, not the most amazing because I’m more a writer than a photo editor, and all I changed were the eyes (to make the one in the dark reflective and glowy, and the one in the light actually look the red it’s supposed to be).

Persona Urban Fantasy AU Directory

Named “Persona” rather than “P5R″ because I have ideas for characters from other games as well.

On Vampires in the AU-

It comes up as early as chapter one, but in the urban fantasy au I’ve got, vampires are a mix of traditional and non-traditional ideas.

Warning for spoilers for the first fic.

There are both traditionally made vampires, but there are also born vampires, who can grow up at a normal ageing rate up to adulthood and then have a drastic decrease depending on how much human blood is in their direct family tree; a full vampire, born or made, might be anywhere up to several hundred years old, while someone like Akechi really is just eighteen years old, and while he’s going to live longer than most humans, he’s also probably not going to reach those heights.

Vampires in the au are not any more or less affected by religious artefacts than any other non-human being or entity out there. If the deity or demon doesn't like them, they’ll get a reaction no matter what. Vampires aren’t universally Christian and that’s not the default here. Especially in a Japanese setting, it’s more the Kami they’ve got to watch out for, which means that most vampires are, funnily enough, probably quite observant to Shinto beliefs!

In fact, Shinto is probably a lot more prevalent here, because of the rule of “well, we can’t say we don’t believe in the gods, because they’ll show up and cuss us to our faces if we’re too rude.” Atheism therefore takes on more of a form of “well, they say they’re gods, but...” among other things.

Vampires can eat garlic. There’s not really anything they’re allergic to more or less than normal humans. All vampires, however, can eat/drink blood, and if they can’t then there’s a failure to thrive and the child or new vampire doesn't survive.

Vampires can go out in sunlight! Akechi says at the end of chapter one that they don’t burn like it’s assumed they should, and that very warm weather makes him lethargic. I’d actually say that it’s more like they’re biologically driven to be nocturnal predators, and there’s a bit of them being somewhat cold-blooded (or having similar side-effects) which results in the sunlight and warmth making them drowsy.

Vampires do, indeed, have super senses (hearing, eyesight, smell, etc) and strength. In chapter four, if Akira had chosen to duel Akechi and not accidentally triggered off Akechi’s poor voice control in that moment, Akechi may well have lost control physically during their fight and due to the difference in strength, Akira may well have died instead. Let’s... not go there, huh? 

Vampires can and will glamour themselves to look human. This can even affect other vampires at times, leading it to a sort of “are you open about yourself, and if so, who with” situation sometimes. The glamour can fail under a few certain circumstances; if the person in question is too low on energy/too tired to keep it up, if the person they’re with sees something that cannot coexist with the idea of this person being a human being, if the person they’re with has the ability to read auras/spirit energy. Sae points out how tired he looks in chapter 8 because it’s affecting his glamour, and she can see it. Same idea in chapter 10.

A vampire’s complexion tends to look vaguely human in colouration, but running on the pale side. If they’re low on blood and need feeding, however, they’ll appear pale in a feverish way, with their skin taking on an unhealthy pallor. They may appear somewhat flushed right after feeding.

All vampires can have a connection of sorts form during a bite, specifically when fangs hit “lifeblood” - AKA, blood that is still flowing, and that has gone through the heart, so to speak. This connection, if it happens, can be empathic to the point of near telepathy, due to their naturally psychic/magical nature. 

“Marking” is what happens when a vampire wishes to tell other vampires (or predators in general that would react to a mark on someone’s aura) to steer clear of their prey/food source. This is done by acupressure on a person’s neck with their fangs. This mark can be “washed” off by anyone with the ability to manipulate an aura. The mark can be placed without the vampire needing to know what they’re doing, as it can be instinctual.

Vampires are capable of a form of audio hypnosis or suggestion. This is part audio and part psychic, and in general there should be some sort of solid idea of what they want the other person to do, and a lack of direction or putting too much strength into it can cause traumatic psychic damage (as in, what happened to Akira, and Futaba got the latter). This exists not purely to “seduce victims to be fed from” (as that would be a jail-worthy offence) but as a side effect of how they get their family’s attention as children.
