Did some research on the new Personas! Here they are alongside their respective characters.
Notable details:
Instead of codenames, these characters have shortened forms of their actual names.
All three Personas seem to deviate from the “trickster” theme of P5, instead returning to the general “Greek mythological figure” theme seen in previous Persona games.
SEIJI & LEUCOTHEA (rendered 琉科忒亚)
Of the stories regarding Leucothea’s identity, the most prominent relates that she was once Ino, the human queen of Athamas. Ino chose to take in and care for Dionysus, as he was the son of her sister (Semele) and Zeus. Naturally, this angered Hera.
Depending on which source you read, Hera either struck Ino herself or Ino’s husband (King Athamas) with madness. In the latter version, King Athamas is described as flying into a rage and killing the young Learchus, one of Ino’s two sons. Ino proceeded to pick up Melicertes, her other son, and ran for her life, being chased by her husband to a cliff. In both versions, Ino threw herself and Melicertes into the sea. The gods took pity on them, turning Ino into the sea goddess Leucothea and Melicertes into the sea god Palaemon.
Design notes:
Though it’s unclear why Leucothea has a heavily bird-themed design, it may have something to do with Byssa, a woman who was turned into a bird for refusing to worship Artemis, Athena, and Hermes; the Byssa bird is considered sacred to Leucothea. It may also have something to do with The Cantos by Ezra Pound, in which Leucothea is depicted as a seagull.
Despite being consistently referred to as a feminine entity in mythology, this Leucothea has been given a distinctly masculine appearance.
Leucothea’s in-game model is shown dual-wielding rapiers; it’s unclear why this is not included in the official art.
MONT & TERPSICHORE (rendered 忒耳普西科瑞)
Terpsichore is one of the nine Olympian Muses, specifically presiding over dance and (Greek) chorus. She is regarded as the mother of Sirens, and some accounts posit that she is the mother of the Thracian kings Biston and Rhesus.
Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be much mythology surrounding her…
Design notes:
Though not quite visible here, Terpsichore’s design includes ice skates. This, along with her overall “winter clothing” look, is likely due to Mont’s apparent proficiency in ice skating.
The large feather in Terpsichore’s hat may be in reference to her relation to Sirens.
YUKI & STYX (rendered 斯提克斯)
Styx is the goddess of the river Styx, which divides the lands of the living and the dead in Greek myth. In many accounts, the water of the Styx is capable of granting invulnerability to any who bathe in it – one popular example of this is Achilles, whose mother dunked him in the river by the ankle when he was a child.
As Styx sided with Zeus and the other gods during the Titanomachy, Zeus declared that all binding oaths must be sworn on her, and that these oaths absolutely cannot be broken. Of note, Zeus later swore on the river Styx to grant his lover Semele whatever she wanted, which would directly lead to her death…with their newborn child Dionysus then being taken in by Semele’s sister, Ino. Other surviving examples of oaths sworn carelessly on the Styx result in similarly grim outcomes.
Design notes:
Styx’s purple-and-black half-skirt seems to intentionally mimic Yuki’s purple-and-black cape.
Styx’s overall design bears a passing resemblance to that of Persephone, a recurring demon in the SMT universe. IIRC, the last time Persephone appeared in the Persona series was in Persona 2: Innocent Sin.
(This is just my personal opinion, but it kinda feels like she leans more into the pseudo-robotic vibes of the initial/ultimate P2 Personas?)
Styx’s in-game model is shown with a black chain connecting her wrists; it’s unclear why this is not included in the official art.

The original Phantom Thieves' mask assets from the P5X beta files! Thought they were neat.
I didn't find one for Wonder, but I did find ones for the rest of the new thieves whose designs we've seen as well:

P5X ALL Character Traits
Thanks to @p5x-theories for showing me the video with the Persona screenshots, I'm able to get all of the base Passives for all characters.
I won't be going over specific Awareness Level Abilities, but I'll definitely do a detailed character analysis of their skills and such later.
Joker: At the end of the round, for every enemy on the field with lower than 50% HP, Joker gets one "Hot Air" stack. When the stack count reaches 3, Joker gets one extra turn.
Ryuji: At the beginning of the round, when Ryuji's HP is less than 20%, increase his attack power by 20%. If Hp is less than 50%, gain the ["Rebound"] effect, increasing the damage of his next active skill by 10%.
Morgana: Grants bonus to himself depending on how many allies are over 50% HP or under 50% HP. If at least 2 allies are over 50% HP, increases his Critical Hit Rate by 24%. If at least 2 allies are under 50% improves his healing.
Ann: When an enemy is hit by a fire skill, inflict foe with a fire stack. When the stack count reaches 7, Ann enters a ["Painstaking"] state, increasing her attack power by 35% for one round. She cannot enter the [Painstaking] state in the next round.
Yusuke: When taking damage, there is a 50% chance to counterattack, dealing Ice damage equal to 77.8% of Yusuke's attack(Not specified but I assume it uses his attack) to the attacking enemy.
Makoto: Using a skill or taking damage grants Makoto one [Tenacity] stack. Each stack increases her attack and defensive power by 3%. Has a max of 10 stacks.
Futaba: When an ally attacks an enemy's weakness, Futaba gains one [Clue] stack. Each stack of [Clue] increases the attack power of all allies by 5%, with a max stack of 5. When 5 stacks of [Clue] are reached, Futaba enters the [Analysis Complete] state, increasing the weakness damage of all allies by 10%, and restores all allies' HP by 20%.
Haru: Using skills reloads her ammo. Using her gun to attack an enemy who is under the effect of [Special Treatment]*, will deal additional Psy damage to all enemies while consuming one stack of [Special Treatment]. Damage dealt to enemies by consuming multiple stacks of [Special Treatment] is increased by:
100% of Haru's Attack Power * (1 + Current stacks of [Special Treatment] * 30.4%).
*[Special Treatment] is a status effect that can be applied to enemies via her Psy skill.
Akechi: At the end of his round, grant all allies the [Blessing] effect for 2 rounds. [Blessing] restores 1% of Max Health per round.
Closer: After using a skill to damage an enemy, there is a 30% chance to inflict the enemy with [Conductive]. At the beginning of the round, increase attack power by 10%/20%/30% (Changes depending on whether Closer is Level 1/50/70) for every remaining enemy on the field with [Conductive]. [Conductive lasts for 3 rounds.]
Cattle: Using his healing skill on an ally will grant them the [Star Fire I] buff. [Star Fire I] increases their attack power by 4% for one round, and at the end of the round becomes [Star Fire II], which increases allies' attack power by (Cattle's Attack Power/8)%.
Soy: When an ice skill is used on a foe, grant the foe a [Zero Degrees] debuff. Each stack of [Zero Degrees] decreases the foe's defense by 1%. Once the number of [Zero Degrees] stacks reaches 10, they will become an [Absolute Zero] debuff, which will decrease the foe's defense by 12%. [Absolute Zero] can be applied at a max of 1 stack, but through increasing Awareness, will go to a max of 2.
Also, his final Awareness level will increase the power of his Cold Tyrant skill by 10%/20%/30% and the Critical Damage of the skill by 20%/40%/60%, depending on if the foe he's attacking has 0/1/2 stacks of [Absolute Zero].
Leo: When using a skill that targets an ally, give that ally a [Justice] buff. If the target has a shield, they will gain another stack of [Justice]. Each stack of [Justice] increases that party member's damage by 15%, and goes away when said party member attacks. Can be applied at a max of 2 stacks, but through increasing Awareness, will go to a max of 3.
Mont: When Mont or an ally attacks, Mont gains one [Ice Crystal]. When Mont has 10 [Ice Crystals], after she attacks, she consumes them to do a critical hit physical attack on the foe she attacked last.
Yuki: At the beginning of the battle, grant one random ally a ["Benevolence Contact"] buff. At the end of the round, the affected companion gains 13.6% defense.
Seiji: When a skill is used, there is a 40% (45% at max Awareness) chance to gain a [Motivation] stack. Each stack increases his Attack Power by 3% and his Avoid Rate by 2%. This effect lasts for 2 turns and can have a max of 3 stacks, but through increasing Awareness, will go to a max of 5.
Kii: After Kii uses a skill, he gets a [Sacrifice] stack. While he has [Sacrifice], the fire damage of all his allies is increased by 3.5%(Yandex doesn't specify whether it increases for each stack but I assume it does), and using skills will cause Kii to lose 3% of his current health for 2 turns. [Sacrifice] has a max of 5 stacks, with the turn duration for each stack calculated independently.
Okyann: Using support skills causes Okyann to gain a varying number of [Beats] depending on the skill. At 4 [Beats], she will immediately use "Song and Dance" increasing all allies' attack and defense by 25%, and effect hit rate by 33% for one round.
Kotomo: At the beginning of the round, Kototmo gets a number of [Aoba] stacks, corresponding to the number of enemies on the field. Each stack of [Aoba] increases Effect Hit Rate by 5% and has a max of 3 stacks. At 3 stacks, Kotomo gains [Ye Ming Minor], which strengthens her skills..
Rin: After Rin uses a skill, all targeted foes gain one stack of [Forget Water]. Each stack of [Forget Water] decreases the target's defense power by 6% for 2 rounds and lasts for 3 rounds. If [Forget Water] reaches 3 stacks on any enemy, Rin enters the [Meng Po Soup] state. When using a skill while in the state, Rin will exit the [Meng Po Soup] state and gains a 10% chance of inflicting [Forget] on the main target of the skill. This state lasts for one round.
Please note that the names of the buffs are most likely very inaccurate, but i hope I got the actual effects right.

Why do you prefer the Male MC over the female MC. AREN'T THEY THE SAME PERSON?
Note: This isn't an attack on whoever prefers the female protagonist. The anon asked me why I prefer the male protagonist and not his female counterpart. So please don't go attacking me in my inbox.
No, they are not the same person. Kotone is an alternative version of Makoto. But instead of making her appear in her own game, she was nothing more than a swipe-out in P3P. Their no difference in their backstory, they act differently from each other is the best thing that came out of her creation.
I prefer Makoto because of the simple fact that he was first and P3. The Answer, manga, the movies, dancing, and now the remake are focused on him only because again it is his story and his friends. Had Kontone been first then I'll be the same regarding her.
I wish they treated P3P like they are doing with P5X. Instead of having Wonder replace and live Ren's life and having his back story, they give him his own story and have the rest of the Phantom Thieves make appearances. My problem isn't the fact that Kotone was made but rather her whole life is the same as Makoto Yuki's but as a girl.
I rather play Makoto Yuki in the P3 games. I don't mind if she added in a fighting game.

just a shot in the dark, but…
looking at the design for “Leo”, with the classic superhero vibes it has going on, makes me wonder about how Yuki, Seiji, and Mont are meant to be perceived as characters
The P5X gacha pool is stated to consist of “cognitive manifestations” of the obtainable characters, which explains how the Phantom Thieves can just Be There without needing to be written into the story. Going off the translation that mentions the three of them being “publicly known,” it’s possible that Yuki, Seiji, and Mont are meant to be considered the same way – they’re not real people, they’re just cognitive manifestations of public figures.
Or, in other words: they’re gacha fodder lmao
This could explain why they got codenames that are just shortenings of their real names, rather than actual codenames like Wonder, Cattle, and Closer. With how dataminers have dug up alternate codenames for all three (Tembin, Comte, and Frost, respectively), it’s possible that they were originally meant to be fleshed-out characters before being relegated to a gacha-only existence.
With how the pacing of P5X seems to be following that of P5, populating the gacha pool with plot-relevant characters before their introduction in the story would be a pretty perilous move. Unfortunately, playable characters are often a bigger draw than weapons/etc, so the devs still needed something to get people paying for pulls. The Phantom Thieves were an easy option for this, since people already know and love them – they’re the perfect combination of nonessential and appealing! With the P5S assets for Wolf and Sophie that have been unearthed, it’s possible they’ll be getting thrown in the gacha pool eventually as well.
But hey, if your goal is to get players to keep spending money, pre-existing characters are only going to get you so far. You’re going to have to keep the gacha pool looking fresh and worthwhile somehow, and one way to do that is to keep chucking new characters in it.
(Granted, P5X is still in beta, so who knows how the final game will look. Yuki, Seiji, and Mont still have a chance to escape gacha fodder hell, and I hope they succeed!)

Character descriptions for Yuki, Mont, and Seiji I'm unsure if these were in the first beta as well but I'm gonna post them here anyway.
Tumblr media
Yukimi Fujikawa
A second-year high schooler. Her father died when she was young and since grew up under her mother's cold and uptight approach.
She can't agree with her mother's ideas, but wants to respond to her mother's expectations, and this conflict and pain has made her a cold person on the surface, but soft on the inside.
Tumblr media
Kotone Montagne
A French-Japanese woman who was once a world-class figure skater.
Practicing figure skating since she was a child and being a perfectionist, she was devastated by an accident on the ice rink, and that trauma still aches in her heart.
Tumblr media
Seiji Shiratori
A second-year high schooler and part of a fencing club.
He comes from a rich family and has been receiving cold, elite education. On the outside, he may look polite, but his behavior is very detached. Inside, he longs for genuine affection.

*sees that blue-hair student is a Persona User*
*curious to know about his Persona and what it means for the game*
Okay, so a quick search tells me that his Persona, Mandrin, is very likely to be one Louis Mandrin, was a French smuggler/highway man/French Robin Hood (another Robin Hood-like figure!) who was from Dauphiné, located in the southwest of France. Louis Mandrin hated the tax collectors, (which at the time was until the Old Regime that lasted from circa 1500 to the French Revolution of 1789).
In 1753, Louis Mandrin and a friend got arrested for a brawl and Louis Mandrin escaped, for on that same day, his brother was hanged for counterfeiting,  and Mandrin escaped, but on swore a personal war against the tax collectors.
Louis Mandrin then joined a gang of smugglers that was in the Cantons of Switzerland, France, ans Savoy, which at the time its own territory state. The gang smuggled bought the goods in Switzerland, and then sold them to the French population that didn’t involve taxes. Also apparently Louis Mandrin and his gang robbed the tax collectors, especially the unpopular ones. This allowed the gang to get lots of local support, but it had the tax collectors wanting Mandrin’s head.
So Louis Mandrin took refuge in Savoy. Remember how I said it was its own territory state? Well, the French tax collectors wanted Louis Mandrin’s head so badly, they sent in 500 men into Savoy in disguises to do that (help that two of Louis Mandrin’s own gang members sold him out). The Duke of Savoy and King of Sardinia, Charles Emmanuel III, didn’t approve of this AT ALL, and sent a letter to the King Louis the XV to return Mandrin back, but before the message could be sent, the tax collectors basically speed-run the trial to execute the guy.
Interesting here that this Persona goes back to the theming of the initial three Personas we know of: Jánošík, Awilda, and Rob Roy. They’re outlaws of sorts. The second set of Personas we learned of are Leucothea, Terpsichore, and Styx. They’re from Greak mythology.
I think it’s possible the blue-hair student, not using his name because it seems it’s still unknown at the moment due to different possible translations of the kanji of his name, joins after the initial first Palace. Maybe he’s the fourth party member. Or the fifth, for there’s still that unknown female party member left we don’t know about.
That, or there’s two groups of Persona users in P5x that start out as rivals, but eventually have to join forces to defeat in the new threat of the Metaverse. Group One is the new ‘PT’ of sorts, consisting of Wonder, Cattle, Closer, the Blue-Hair Student, and Unknown Female Persona User. Group Two is the ‘Classic Theme’ users, consisting of Seiji, Mont, Yuki, and maybe Unknown Male Star Arcana User.
Or I could be wrong on both accounts. Still, this gave me a lot to think about!

----------
Analysis
As one of the 3 Tanks, and one of the 2 Ice Tanks, Soy fills his role of protecting the party very well. Compared to Yusuke, who is much more offensive focused, Soy has much more party support, with his Max Health buff working well with character such as Key to increase his [Holy Fire] DOT damage, or with Yuki and Akechi to make the most out of their Blessing buffs. His defense decreasing effects help him provide good support for DPS, even if it may pale in comparison to specialized defense debuffers such as Rin. At max investment, he can even serve as an off-healer, with a potential 100% chance to heal the ally with the lowest health with his [Wild Savior] recovery. He fits very well into squishy teams that need a lot of help surviving, something that Yusuke may not provide due to his focuses on counterattacks. As a free story based character, he will be very easy to train, so I'd recommend upgrading him to a decent level.
Recommended Teams:
Soy - Yuki - Akechi: Yuki and Akechi already work well together with stacking Blessing buffs, and Soy just makes the team have even more survivability. Yuki's shields and defense increases helps Soy survive when getting attacked by enemies, and his natural aggro draw + increased aggro from Wild Savior helps with consistently making sure Akechi and Yuki don't get hit before thay can set up their gameplans. Lacks as much pure burst damage compared to other setups, but it is very reliable and can help sustain through long or grueling fights.
Soy - Key - Ann: Replacing Cattle with Soy in the Mono-Fire team does lose out in Burn consistency to help Ann's attack buffs, and loses the Attack + Fire Damage increases from Cattle's [Star Fire] and Highlight, but it grants not only more survivability, but his max health buffs will help increase the DOT damage of Key's [Holy Fire], allowing for more sustained damage over longer fights. At high weapon investment, Soy's defense debuffing can almost match Cattle's pure attack increase, and his off-healing can help to mitigate the health loss from Key's [Sacrifice], even if not at the same rate as a dedicated healer.
