The crew definitely makes fun of Shanks to this day for forlornly singing love songs about being abandoned tho

Dude. Shanks is the biggest ABBA fan in the world. I just know he'd sing The Winner Takes It All and Fernando like his life depended on it and he'd just start crying so much mid-song Benn would have to get him out of there. Also, making it about Shuggy bc I can, Marineford happens and Buggy gets into the Red Force because Shanks won't stop begging him to party with him at least once and somehow Shanks ends up singing Lay All Your Love on Me. They actually invented Mamma Mia.

There is quite literally nothing more painful than reading a Hangster fic with past Icemav and Maverick comforts Rooster’s panic about falling in love with his and Iceman’s love story, like the cut to the most beautiful love story you could ever imagine and having to read it knowing how it ended is something just so painful

marjan who fought for the 126 and hated the thought of being abandoned by the people she loves most being terrified she’d die alone so she thought of herself in the other worst moment of her life when she was alone and scared and effectively saving herself by staying strong and keeping herself moving until she feels that relief of realizing of course her family would come for her. marjan saving herself in more way than one as she works through the guilt and fear and remaining old scars of surviving the unthinkable and working through that pain only to grow up and save others.

I think that police scene with Gabriel and TK is probably one of the best acting scenes from Ronen within the whole show. Him and Benito both. The slow realization, the thousand yard stare at the end. Gabriel's eyes as he slips from ranger mode, to father mode, to father in law mode, back to ranger mode- amazing.

And dont even get me started on should be emmy nominated Rafael L Silva.

absolutely. i am personally hand-delivering every possible acting award to rafael right this instant.

and with this scene….i completely agree. it’s so perfectly in character for tk to lash out but it’s his slow realization of what gabriel and detective grier aren’t telling him—that carlos could be dead by now—that really hits. like….

HELLO? the way it all hits tk like a truck because these are faces of long-lost women, faces of women with loved ones of their own, faces of women who are more than likely already gone. and he doesn’t mean to take away from their need for justice but there’s a chance for carlos, until he starts spiralling, until he imagines carlos’ face, here, and pieces together what gabriel isn’t saying—what he’s trying to protect tk from—and he just shuts down.

and we’ve seen this before!! we’ve seen him shut down in bad call, we’ve seen him shut down after gwyn dies, but here he’s suddenly completely and utterly alone. if this is goodbye….he’s lost his lifeline, he’s lost his safe space, he’s lost the love of his life, and he didn’t even get to say goodbye. until gabriel sees tk and the pain he’s feeling and probably feels this moment of blinding realization of how much his son is loved—and maybe also this moment of seeing tk for his bravery in letting himself feel these things out in the open.

this tiny moment of gabriel touching tk’s shoulder, trying to pour so much reassurance into this physical touch because if he speaks he’ll properly lose all of his composure. because gabriel has probably had to tell countless relatives and loved ones of someone’s disappearance and being found dead, and this time it’s his boy’s partner, and his son, and how is he supposed to handle that?

this is the real killer for me. tk realizes he’s alone, now. he’s accepting that carlos is gone. he’s accepting the worst case scenario because it’s how he’s lived his adult life—why be hopeful when it’s easier to immediately sink into the nothingness? everything is fading into white noise around him, everything is turning grey, and then gabriel turns away from the detective and their board and you can see his heart breaking because he isn’t just losing carlos, here, he’s losing tk, too. if carlos is truly gone, tk will be too. he’s just getting his son back in his life and he’s seeing him live authentically with the love of his life and gabriel’s accepting the fact that it might be too late—but how does he handle that at all? how is this fair in any way?
