Gonna rewatch Fruits Basket soon so I can finally write that “Shigure is Bastard Man” essay for my friend who, after we finished watching the entire show, said, “I just don’t see how he’s a manipulative bastard. I mean, he’s an asshole, but I didn’t really get manipulative.” May also write some meta along the way about how Momiji is possibly the most mature and emotionally intelligent character in the whole damn show (aside from maybe Hanajima and Hatsuharu) and yes that includes every fucking adult.

Having a lot of thoughts about this issue 8 skybound Skyfire thing.

I know that the statement is a bit ambiguous, but it really feels implied to me that they chose to keep him in his alt over his root mode because they needed a way to get around. ESPECIALLY because when they teased him coming back, Optimus stated that he had a plan to solve their transportation issue and it showed Skyfire in root mode.

This means that they had to transform him to his alt when they were fixing him. Maybe he didn’t have enough functionality left to move if he was in root or something and would have been paralyzed no matter which mode he was in, but at least he’d probably have been able to see! In that hypothetical situation they should have at least asked ‘hey you’re going to be paralyzed no matter what could we use your body to get around.’ And they didn’t ask! They just did it! It’s awful!

I’m pretty sure this is meant as a parallel for what Starscream did to Skywarp (there are a lot of parallels between Starscream and Optimus in Skybound and I love it) but like daaaaamn man that is a shitty call. Optimus dude :(

i've been on character ai for the past two days and have been creating the angstiest story alive. the basic plot is reader is in a PR relationship with Carlos, but in reality wants Alex(andra). Secretly, Alex does as well. But something terrible happens to Carlos and Reader as they leave an event and Carlos, Alex and Charles have to deal with the aftermath of Reader's death. There are multiple povs, and so much detail. rn reader has just died, and i have yet to plan the funeral. and now i am thinking how good this would be as a series. not that i'd write it👀

I'm quite grimly fascinated by the YouTube pen pal creator sphere. Like… first of all, these people are just putting their full name and address on screen, huh?

Also, Idk, it just feels kind of disingenuous that they're always all "It isn't about the decoration or the extras! A simple heartfelt letter is what's important!" when they've built their entire online brand around elaborately decorated letters—that they, again, show in full on screen to millions of people who are not the recipient—with a bunch of stickers and tea bags and bits of confetti and washi tape samples added as gifts on top of what's used for decoration. Like, I don't know, if you have to disclaim a million times that having a pen pal is Not A Stationery Swap and that people shouldn't expect to be given these things, maybe you could reflect for a moment on what may have created this impression?

Like, personally, I never for a second believed that I needed more than "just an ordinary sheet of paper and any pen at all uwu" to send a letter, so it's sort of baffling to be gently reassured by people spending hours of work designing a visual aesthetic for their letters that, of course, I don't have to do it like that. Like, yeah, no shit, Sherlock.

I mean, I'm all for people having fun with stickers and washi tape and markers and whatever, but I feel like they've created this very false barrier to entry that I'm not about. It's bullet journals all over again.
