Are there any Team Green/Team Black pairings you think would’ve been ok?

as in, like, work together to prevent the war? serious answer: i don’t really think any of them could’ve stopped it. maybe (and that’s a heavy maybe) an aegon/rhaenyra marriage could’ve stalled it but the whole point of that marriage wasn’t to keep the conflict from continuing, it was to ensure that alicent and otto would still have power. once viserys was dead there was no way they were going to allow rhaenyra to rule in her own right. she would’ve been reduced to queen consort, and alicent/otto would’ve ruled through aegon. i’m also of the firm belief that a dance of the dragons was inevitable, so even if that marriage succeeded in stopping it from taking place then, it would still occur further generations down.

crack answer: the most serious pairing i think could have worked out would be jace/helaena in the show. they’re cute together, and jace is the definition of a gentlemen, so they would have had moderately happy lives if there wasn’t a war. the only other black/green pairings that would be allowed in the universe would be between baela and rhaena with one of the green boys, and the only one of those that i *might* let near my girls is daeron. aegon and aemond can go be lonely stinky bachelors somewhere else, preferably far away from kingslanding. if i had it my way i’d keep helaena away from them too but alas, her family sucks.

now, hear me out, rhaena/helaena. you dig?? girly pops being cute together with their pink and blue dragons respectively and hellooooo dreamfyre is totally able to sus out a fellow homo when she sees one. her first rider was the og targaryen lesbian. plus another rhaena being close to her? that marriage would single handedly save the dynasty which is why it was cut rip.

also jace/baela/helaena/cregan. i’m not commenting on this one.
