my favourite bit of pop culture trivia is that Natalie Holt (composer of the Loki TV soundtrack) threw eggs at Simon Cowell that one time

bonus: This is the only correct way to respond - propose marriage on the spot (i don't know what I would do if Noel Fielding proposed to me, pass out probably)

Why is Taskmaster the only panel show with lore and spin-offs? Every panel show should have lore and spin-offs. Suggestions for panel show lore and spin-offs:
Would I Lie To You special episodes but they’re set in the Evil Universe where truth and lies are reversed and also everyone has little fake goatees. There’s an extra special episode where Evil David Mitchell, Lee Mack and Rob Brydon compete against their normal selves for control of the show
Have I Got News For You? detective procedural spin-off investigating why such a popular tv programme has such a high turn-over rate of hosts. Is it blackmail? Some sort of white collar tax crime? Aliens? Tune in to find out
Big Fat Quiz of the Year episode in which it becomes increasingly clear that a member of the panel was responsible for every world event discussed throughout, not only that year but all years previously
QI docudrama about a mathematician who has actually worked out how the scoring system works

Conversation
The First Five Minutes of Every Taskmaster Episode
Greg Davies: Hello! I’m Greg Davies. I’m tall and my eyebrows can slice through diamonds. Noone knows whether my last name has an E in it or not. Sitting next to me is an absolute wet diaper of a human. A man who cowers at the thought of women’s ankles and wets himself in two ways at once if he hears the word 'bosom'. A disgrace to his family name and a human hate crime against all of England. A worm that hides underground not because he is wanted there but because he knows that should he dare to poke his spineless pink little body above ground that he will get bisected, disemboweled and mercilessly digested by the garden’s resident robin that is me, Greg Davies. It’s LITTLE ALEX HORNE
Little Alex Horne: 🥺
Greg Davies: Shut up Alex, Kevin Bridges has brought in a bowler hat with a taxidermy rabbit head stapled to it.

what I particularly love about QI is that regardless of whether I’m familiar with the other panelists, or whether they are my favourite comedians or not Alan Davies will be there which always guarantees a good time

Coco Khan: When the rumors started to surface just before the weekend that Channel 4 were going to broadcast a potentially career-ending expose...did you know who it would be?
Nish Kumar: Yes, this is a well known open secret from the comedy circuit. It's been something that's been talked about certainly to my knowledge for at least the last five years. It's something that's been pretty openly discussed in the comedy industry. I think I remember first hearing about it in mid-2017. Subsequent to Dispatches and the Sunday Time expose, Deadline ran a story about an incident that happened on a TV show called Roast Battle where jokes were made referencing Brand being an abuser and they were removed from the broadcast... from that point onwards it was common knowledge...It was discussed by multiple comedians in Edinburgh Fringe shows the following year, in 2018. It was that well known.
Coco: But when you say it was well known like what was well known?
Nish: to be completely honest with you the story that I had heard was relating to a sexual assault it was not covered in the documentary, so it was a very specific and serious allegation. I was not aware of any of the stories in the documentary. I was surprised watching it how far back this had gone.
I think this is a real moment for everybody to consider how this was allowed to happen and how this was allowed to go on for so long.... I think if you look at Russell Brand's IMDB page you see that his television work in Britain starts to dry up around 2018, 2019 and that's simply because increasingly people were just not willing to work with him. Everyone was afraid to talk about it because of the threat of lawsuits... Watching it as a cisgender heterosexual male comedian you feel a certain sense of guilt and a certain sense of complicity because you've been working with production companies and producers who are providing an infrastructure that allows predators to thrive.
There are still people working in comedy who are the subject of open secrets...there are still people working in comedy who people will say 'oh we don't send young women into their dressing rooms'. Now at that stage for me you should be sacked... if you can't have someone be around young women they have no place in any kind of workplace.
