Send me ✨ for a random thing about one of my OCs! (Optional: You can specify one!) - Hmm.. As it's you, let's go with Avalon for this!

Since creating Avalon, I have toyed with the idea of them being shipped with either Minoth or Aegaeon in the past - nothing is concrete either way in terms of them ending up with either one in the end, especially considering what happens to Aegaeon in the game's usual events, but it is fun to think about sometimes. Their dynamic with each would be rather significantly different, mainly because - while their personality is not too dissimilar to Aegeon's in some ways - it is very different to Minoth's, ahaha. Anyone would think the two were opposing elements or something! =P

I have had this ask in my inbox since about two months ago, because that's when you first sent this in to me. It was in response to an ask game from multiple months further back in the year than that, if memory serves, because I distinctly remember being baffled as to why you sent me this considering the ask game in question had very much not been a recent reblog =P

I kept trying to come up with a response to it, but I decided to save it as a little bonus present for myself for today. send me a “⭐️” and i’ll use a random thing picker to choose one of my F/Os, and i’ll reply to the ask with a small infodump about my selfship with them! - ..Ah, I'm getting to this one after starting on the previous two, so I'll need to set up the randomisation selection again. This time around, it ended up picking.. Lora! Why is it selecting all my XC2 selfships! I am not complaining but also that's three in a row and I only have four to begin with from that game specifically out of twenty-one in total!!

Lora is a Driver from the Kingdom of Torna who was alive during the Aegis War, 500 years before the main game of Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Her first Blade was Jin, before she later also awakened Haze; both of these Blades are some of the most powerful of all, due to Jin's incredible speed and Haze's powerful ability to restrict other Blades' actions respectively. Lora herself fights alongside them both in combat using battle braids - she was originally a mercenary before accompanying Addam and company to try and defeat Malos, eventually being made a knight of Torna. To selfship with Lora, I use Aline, who is another of my self-inserts for XC2! Or, well, specifically for TTGC. She is a shy young Gormotti woman who originally lived in Torigoth Village, but now travels alongside Lora and the others during the events of TTGC. She's also a Driver, with her main Blade being my OC, Avalon - in my version of events, she resonates with Ursula as well later in the story. As a fun fact, she is also an ancestor of Sapphire!

Lora meets Aline near the start of the game, when she and the rest of the party are exploring the remains of Torigoth Village after it was razed by bandits. Lora and Haze find Aline hiding in the rain nearby and introduce themselves to her, before Avalon also finds her (the two had been separated by the chaos going on), only for things to then be interrupted by the fight against Gort and his group. Aline and Avalon help Lora and the others in this fight, prompting the rest of the group to recognise Avalon's strength and ask the pair to come with them. Avalon accepts because they want to help out, while Aline is much more hesitant - but her desire to support her Blade as well as get to know Lora better prompts her to also join, as does the fact she has nowhere to go anymore. From there, "Team Aline" becomes another playable part of the party as the group continue their journey across both Gormott and Torna. Both Aline and Lora spend a lot of time together getting to know one another, as it takes Aline a bit longer to open up to everyone else by comparison due to her shyness and feeling like she doesn't fit in with the rest of the group very well. We both end up with romantic feelings for each other rather early on, but.. well, due to the overarching circumstances among other things, everyone else ends up figuring out that we're both in love with each other quite a while before either of us realises the other shares her feelings (and can work up the courage to confess those feelings!). Something, something, sapphic disasters, I don't know. It does happen eventually though!! And when we do finally become a couple, I like to think everyone else in the party is really happy about us finally getting together ^-^

Love that Star Trek accurately portrays humans in the future as being DTF practically anything. Works wonders for diplomacy.
