Farklı mesleklerin konu edildiği dizileri hep seviyorum, bu dizi bize yazılımcıların dünyasına kapı açıyor. Genç girişimlerin yaşadıkları mücadele ve yarışı izlemek oldukça keyifliydi. Hedeflerine ulaşmak için başlarına gelebilecek durumları alternatifli olarak bizlere gösterdiler. Bir izleyici olarak birçok duyguyu bana yaşattılar. Teknolojinin farklı yüzlerini en etkili şekilde gördüm. Aynı zamanda insanı motive eden bir tarafı da vardı.

Seo Dal-Mi(Bae Suzy) ve Seo In-Jae(Kang Han-Na) ortaokul ve lise çağlarında iki kız kardeştir. Anne babalarının aralarındaki anlaşmazlıklar ile diziye giriş yapıyoruz. Yaşanılan aile için dramdan sonra Dal-Mi babası (Kim Joo-Hun) ile In-Jae ise annesi (Song Seon-Mi) ile kalıyor. Babaanne Choi Won-Deok (Kim Hae-Sook) ise bütün o kucak dolusu sevgisi ve şefkati ile hem bizi hem kızları karşılıyor. O nasıl güzel bir büyük anne karakteriydi, resmen aşık oldum. Kendine ayrıca mini bir hikaye yaratan büyükannemiz küçük bir yemek dükkanı işletiyor. Bir gün sokakta tek başına kalmış bir çocuğa yardımcı oluyor. Han Ji-Pyeong (Kim Sun-Ho) adına çok zeki ve çalışkan genç bir çocuk sokakta kalmıştır. Anne babası ve gidecek yeri olmayan bu çocuğa büyükanne kucak açar. Önce yağmurda akşam sokakta kalmaması için dükkanın anahtarını verir. Sonra aralarında tatlı bir arkadaşlık oluşur. Ji-Pyeong dükkanda kalması karşılığında büyük annenin işlerini yapar. Bu sırada anne babası ayrılan Dal-Mi’ye üzülen büyük annenin aklına bir fikir gelir. Torunu çok yalnız kaldığı için ona hayali bir arkadaş verecektir. Ji-Pyeong’dan ona mektup yazmasını ister. Bir şekilde Ji-Pyeong’u ikna edince, o günün gazetesinden Dal-Mi yaşlarında bir çocuğun adını alırlar. Ve büyük anneyle beraber Dal-Mi’ye mektup yazmaya başlarlar. Bir süre sonra mektupları Ji-Pyeong yazmaya devam eder.

Aradan 15 yıl gibi hatırı sayılır bir zaman geçer. Ji-Pyeong SH Girişim Yatırım Firması’nın en iyi takım lideri olmuştur. Boy boy fotoğrafları basılmış, parmakla gösteriliyordur.  Yatırım yaptığı hiç kimsenin başarısız olmaması ile ünlüdür. Dergi kapaklarında isminden bahsedilir, ünlü ve zengin bir adam olmuştur. Annesi ile giden In-Jae, üvey babasının soyadını almış, bolluk içinde büyümüş ve üvey babasının firmasında CEO olarak çalışmaktadır. Dal-Mi ise kendi işini kurabilmek için üniversiteyi yarıda bırakmıştır. O zamandan beri kimse kimseyle görüşmemiştir. Dal-Mi ise hala küçükken yazıştığı mektup arkadaşını aramaktadır. Ve bütün araştırmaları onu gazetenden çaldıkları isme Nam Do-San (Nam Joo-Hyuk) ‘ a çıkartır.

Nam Do-San ise Kim Yong-San (Kim Do-Wan) ve Lee Chul-San (Yoo Su-Bin) ile SAMSAN adında bir bilişim şirketi kurmuştur. 15 yıl önce kazandığı matematik olimpiyatlarından aldığı gazla kurulan bu şirket aslında üç parasız gencin hayal kurmasından öteye gitmemiştir.  Durumları içler acısıdır. Bir şekilde bütün karakterlerin bir araya gelmesi ile hikaye gelişir ve böyle devam eder.

Nam Joo-Hyuk’u “Weightlifting fairy kim book joo” dizisinde eğlenceli ama biraz itici bulmuştum. “Twenty five, Twenty one” dizisinde ise nefret ettim. “The Bride of Habaek” dizisinde biraz ısınır gibi oldum. Ve son olarak bu dizide tekrar normal seyrini yakaladım. Biraz olsun o nefretimi kırmamı sağladı. Yaşına rağmen kızlarla vakit geçirmemiş, nerd olarak büyümüş bir adamın çekingenliğini çok güzel yansıtmıştı. Karakter gelişimi de aynı şekilde güzel anlatılıyordu. Ama ne yazık ki, nefretimi kırmış olmama rağmen dizi boyunca benim favorim kesinlikle 2.adamdı. Resmen izleyiciler olarak ikinci adam Kim Sun-Ho, esas adam olsun diye imza kampanyası başlatacaktık. Kim Sun-Ho’yu Hometown Cha Cha Cha dizisinde ilk kez izlediğimde bu kadar beni yakalayamamış, idare eder bulmuştum. Burada keşke başrol olsaydı. İlk bölümlerden son bölüme kadar Han Ji Pyeong'un büyükanneyle iletişimi efsaneydi. Öyle güzel bir sevgi vardı ki aralarında dizideki en güzel aşk oydu bence. Yanlış ve geç anlaşılmaları bir o kadar dokunaklıydı. Bayıldım, ikisine de bayıldım.

Dizide başarı hikayelerinin o insanı heyecanlandıran kimyası sonuna kadar havasını korudu. İçimiz kıpır kıpır izledik. Hatta 12.bölüme kadar çok güzel bir ivme artışı vardı. Ve son 4 bölüm… Neden diye haykırasım geldi. Koreliler bunu neden yapıyor neden, neden? “Aradan şu kadar zaman geçti” muhabeti neden bitmemiş. Neden bu kadar takılmış durumdalar bu mevzuya. Tekrar hatırlayınca bile yoruldum. Ne kadar gereksiz olduğunu söylememe gerek bile yok.

Toparlayacak olursak, güzel bir başarı hikayesi diyebiliriz. Karakterler son derece doğaldı. Kimsenin hayatında görmediği o para babaları ütopik zenginler gözlerimizi kanatmadı. Güzel mesajları arka planda gizleyip ilham veren bir hikayeydi. Duygusal yönü ağır basmasına rağmen bütün diziyi himayesine almadı. Dizide beni tek rahatsız eden, aslında rahatsız demek doğru değil, mutsuz eden demek lazım, ikinci erkek sendromuydu. Öyle naif bir ikinci erkek izledik ki, gizliden ağır travmatik olduğunu düşünüyorum. Ve o ikinci erkeğe bence yeterli bir son yazılmamıştı. Keşke ikinci erkek ikinci olmasaydı diyerek izlediğimi tekrar söyleyeyim.

Bence şans verilebilir bir diziydi. Dizi müzikleri içinde ufak bir yorum yapayım, kendi adıma müzikler o kadar diziyle uyuşmuştu ki hiç ön plana çıkmıyordu. Sonrasında dinlediğimde ayrı ayrı beğendim ama izlerken sahnenin önüne geçmediği için fark etmedim. Bu hem iyi hem kötü olarak düşünülebilir. Ben başarılı buldum.

While You Were Sleeping (2017) Overall Thoughts

I'm convinced that I would have enjoyed this drama a lot more if I was watching it while it was airing as it just feels a little dated now. It's a good drama but not a great one it's biggest flaw is that it doesn't maximize on any of its strengths thus doesn't pack as much of an emotional punch as it could have. For example, it employs some great tropes such as the protagonists being neighbors and kind of becoming a found family of sorts as they share breakfast and stuff but I think it misses the crucial part of why found families are so appealing because it fills some sort of Gap that the protagonists were missing in their life. However, this drama fails to capitalize and emphasize on the emotional bit and it just feels like they are having breakfast together because two out of the three protagonists suck at cooking.

This weakness is further exemplified as the three protagonists all share the ability of having dreams that correctly predict the future, the drama cuts the chase and the protagonists find out fairly early on and help each other out using their dreams. However, again you have a news reporter, a prosecutor and a cop and your entire drama kind of revolves around cases yet, we only see them working on three cases across the entire drama together? That number just feels way too low I'm not saying they should have rushed the cases but it just feels like they wasted a lot of opportunity for them to use their professions to the fullest capacity and make it sort of like a crime solving trio.

My biggest gripe with the drama though has to be the fact that they made the protagonists dream prophecy powers to function like a free get out of jail card when they hinted at the fact that changing things may actually make things worse we never actually got to see that play out. We never got to see any consequences of them using their powers to get better outcomes for themselves and those around them. Fate was never like I'm the ultimate bitch and you can't escape me even though it was heavily hinted at. All this just puts a damper on investigator Choi's death because why he try to change it since he knew was going to happen we've seen characters do that with no negative consequences so I don't get why he had to die.

I get that it was his choice and given everything that has happened to him so far it is fitting for the character but without establishing consequences for using the powers for what essentially amounts to self gain it just makes his ultimate choice seem like a bolt of extreme noble idiocy, which in my opinion is like the worst k-drama trope there is.

I am most likely being overly harsh on this drama and like I said at the very beginning of my post I would have most likely enjoyed the heck out of this drama if I watched it while it was airing or a few years earlier perhaps. But I suppose my expectations were too high? It is definitely the weakest Park Hye Ryun drama I've seen. So if you want to watch a Park Hye Ryun drama pick either Pinocchio or I Hear Your Voice those are far better examples of her work in my opinion.

And now I've seen every notable Park Hye Ryun drama except Startup and I'm definitely not in the mood for that one and probably never will be as I really don't want to get into the love triangle drama. But I'm totally looking forward to her next drama starring Park Eun Bun so Diva of the Deserted Island please be good!🙏

TL;DR: one of those shows that I would have totally loved if I watched it a few years earlier. Didn't pack the emotional punch I was hoping for. It was fun seeing so many familiar faces and that they have all deservedly become such bigger stars in kdrama land. 7.5

We begin our story within the Springtime of 2006 and are introduced to many high school classmates who are friends sitting within the same classroom together every day. This drama was made previously by the Chinese, but after seeing this glorious Korean version, there is no way it could compare on behalf of me to the current fine delectable concoction of Korean production. Really, the chemistry between all of those actors was just dynamite and helped carry the show into the Excellence A+ Category on behalf of me. The show wouldn’t are identical without them. the most supporting characters, played by Cho Hye Joo and Jeong Jin Hwan, were also a complete blast to look at, too, and had me giggling quite a lot throughout the series. His character was just more awkward in expressing his feelings for the feminine lead character, more standoffish initially, but as time went thereon was clearer to the audience that he had fallen head over heels for her, and my heart softened toward him. I also had quite a case of Second Male Leaditis (what I call the phenomenon of liking the second male lead character over the primary male lead character) in actor Yeo Hoi Hyeon ( “ While You Were Sleeping“, the film “ The Last Princess“), but because the story progressed I did warm up to the primary male lead character, played by Kim Yo Han, quite a bit. She was superb at playing a shy young thing, and she or he ended up being my favorite character of all. I could tell she was in her twenties in reality, but the makeup artists did an excellent job transforming her into an adolescent for many of the drama. I used to be particularly entranced by the actress, So Ju Yeon she may be a fantastic actress, and she or he had me smiling and laughing throughout most of the story. Most of the young cast here was new me, which was nice, too, to observe some fresh faces for a change. So refreshing! The main characters of “A Love So Beautiful”įrom left to right: So Ju Yeon, Kim Yo Han, Jeong Jin Hwan, Cho Hye Joo, Kim Yo Ha, So Ju Yeon, Yeo Hoi Hyeon If I could make an analogy to American television dramas, it absolutely was like going back in time to clean-cut teen and family-oriented shows just like the Waltons or Happy Days within the 1970s. With the planet under such stress thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic it had been sort of a breath of fresh air to observe a show so clean and old-fashioned, with good morals seen throughout, and characters who remained friends during all their youth into adulthood. Frankly, this one made me realize how tired I used to be getting off all the darker-themed K-dramas the Korean show business has been making lately. 🙂 that’s the best compliment I can play any Korean drama. The drama will make you feel relax because of the young castĪ darling, upbeat blast into the past, reflecting a time when Korean dramas were still sweet and innocent and just plain FUN to look at, “A Love So Beautiful” (2020-21) captivated me immediately with the exuberance of its perfect cast, who all had terrific, sublime chemistry together! Because I’m older I usually tend to avoid the youth dramas, but I’m so glad I made an exception and checked this one out: it had been so great that I ultimately couldn’t follow the other Korean drama running at the identical time, and that I put several on the back-burner to look at later.
