Ok I finished your gay!dean manifesto and SCREEEEEEEEEEEEE!! I am incabible of putting words together and sounding coherent cause my brain is melting from my ears and psalms 40:2 has gone and replaced it. as for the gay dean brainrot... WELCOME BESTIE, JOIN US! gonna preface this all by saying that i adore every sexuality headcanon for dean (except straight—vile energy. evil, even, and wrong) and as a bi person i would be remiss if i didn't acknowledge how wonderful bi dean is. however. HOWEVER.

(under the cut because this got away from me enormously)

i've talked about this a lot on twitter, and i know a lot of people have said this more eloquently than i, but i'll try to sum up my thoughts here.

the way dean is into women is so incredibly performative that often it can't help but be read as an act. there's almost a routine to it: dean meets Beautiful Woman, dean flirts with Beautiful Woman, dean (sometimes, but not always) sleeps with Beautiful Woman, dean pats himself on the back for fulfilling his role of Most Hetero Man In America. it's as if being into women is another aspect of his job, another skill he was taught and forced to utilize, much the same way he was taught to hunt. in early seasons, dean's interactions with woman quickly gain a stale, rote sort of taste. we as the audience expect dean will hit on any attractive woman he sees; dean as a character seems to expect it of himself. there's no anticipation behind these interactions. they're predictable and often lead nowhere—especially if dean thinks the woman is unattainable. dean's hot-blooded all-american cishet lady's man persona is just that—a persona.

we see the cracks in this persona most often during moments that are ostensibly played for laughs. haha, dean likes a show about a sexy male doctor! he gets flustered when he's around the lead haha! he's so masculine and straight and tough but he falls apart when his favorite wrestler shakes his hand and winks at him! he can't form a coherent sentence when he thinks this man is flirting with him, and he's so flustered that he doesn't try to stop it haha! he's psyching himself up for this hookup with a woman because it's funny if he's not confident! look, he likes wearing panties and his comfy bed and cooking for his family and dressing up like a cowboy but those are all things he does in private because he's actually very straight and manly! see? in an effort to make dean seem incontrovertibly heterosexual, his character becomes a parody of himself. these brief moments that we're supposed to laugh at become tragic; watching dean winchester perform his compulsory heterosexuality becomes a waiting game, seeking out those flashes of his true self, his most genuine self, from-moment-to moment.

and then something insane happens: post-season 12, dean stops hooking up with women at all.

his hookups had been waning in the two or three seasons leading up to this point, but after s12 he stops trying completely. it's as if that aggressive need to perform this learned role eventually died out. he just... stops. late seasons dean is a man who would rather stay home and watch lost boys with his husband and his brother and their son for the millionth time than have sex with a woman he's never going to see again. this is who he becomes—and the show forgets to make us laugh this time.

and we all know that supernatural has a disease that almost always keeps them from writing women well—all marginalized groups, actually, but that's a topic for another rambling post—which could be a significant factor as to why dean's most compelling romance-coded relationships are with men, but it can't be the only reason. sam's relationships with women are frequently interesting to watch, and if not groundbreaking, they seem natural. there isn't anything forced or performative about sam being into a woman. obviously the brothers are very different people and cannot be compared one-to-one, but there's definitely something to be said about sam's lack of go crazy go stupid hot girl summer star-crossed lovers cas-benny-crowley situation that dean's got going on at all times.

in my opinion, the best chemistry dean has with a woman is charlie—and while that's very strictly platonic seeing as she's a whole lesbian and probably wouldn't go for dean even if she wasn't, it's undeniable that there's just something intoxicating about watching them on screen together. while i might be biased with this analysis, i think it's worth pointing out: it's like dean's letting out a breath he's been holding his whole life when he's with her. because he knows she's unavailable, he knows there's no world in which she'd be into him, and therefore he doesn't have to bother putting on his macho straight dude persona. he doesn't have to go through the motions of hitting on her, or sleeping with her, because it's out of the question. he can be himself. turns out, "himself" is a huge fucking nerd who likes to pretend he's someone he isn't and hang out with a woman because he loves being her friend and not any other reason. the axe of heterosexuality is no longer hanging over his head.

there's a throwaway interaction way back in s2e11 that sums this up more succinctly than i can:

DEAN: of course, the most troubling question is why do these people assume we're gay?

SAM: well, you are kinda butch. probably think you're overcompensating.

DEAN: (pause) right.

we've got some splendid jacting here where dean gets control of the vessel for a moment and sort of nervously smiles at sam, a sad kind of scoff that just gets me. here's another moment where we're supposed to laugh, but there's nothing funny about the way dean reacts to sam's words. there's no overblown anger, there's no begrudging laugh, he doesn't roll his eyes. he just smiles. looks down. doesn't argue.

Dean stared at the janitor, who didn't react to the silver Dean had just pressed to his skin. If it wasn't the janitor...

"Son of a bitch," he growled, reaching for his phone. It had to be the guidance counselor. The one Cas had stayed behind to protect. "C'mon, c'mon," he whispered as the phone rang to voicemail. He tried again, already leaving the confused janitor behind and rushing through the maze of hallways that made up the high school.

"Dean?" Cas' voice crackled through the flimsy connection.

"Cas, where’d you go?" Dean skidded to a halt outside of the counselor's office. There was no sign of either of them. "Listen, it wasn't-"

There was a shout from down the hall, and it echoed through Dean's cell. He took off in the direction of the sound when the call cut out.

"Cas!" he yelled, and caught a flash of tan as he rounded a corner. Dean followed and then stopped dead in his tracks.

"Stay away," the shifter said, holding a gun to Cas' temple.

"Whoa, whoa, okay take it easy." Dean held his hands out, still clutching his phone.

The shifter snarled. "You're not the first hunters to come after me, did you think I was stupid? I'll take care of you the same way I took-"

Cas interrupted him mid-monologue with an elbow to the gut. It was all the distraction Dean needed to end the shifter with a bullet between the eyes.

Cas stumbled against the wall and Dean was at his side in an instant.

"You alright?" he asked, fingers skimming the wound under Cas' eye where he'd clearly been pistol-whipped.

Cas narrowed his eyes. "I got... played."

Dean chuckled. "Yeah, you're alright." He leaned in to kiss the pout off Cas' mouth. "Let's finish up here and then get you cleaned up."

"Okay," Cas said, but he held Dean close for another long moment before releasing him. "Back to work."

Dean throws his hands up in the air. “How is this my fault?”

“I’m not saying that it is,” Cas says, crossing his arms.

“You’re thinking it. I can practically hear those cogs turning.” Dean throws an accusatory finger in Cas’s direction. “But I am not taking the fall for this. Oh, no.”

“Dean.”

Dean starts pacing across the kitchen tiles, agitation in every muscle. True, Cas hadn’t exactly said it was Dean’s fault, but he should have, since it was. It was easier to fight Cas than himself.

The smell of charred pie hangs in the air. Such a terrible, horrible waste.

“If anything,” Dean says, “It’s your fault. You distracted me.”

Cas frowns. “I wasn’t here.”

Yeah, okay, maybe he wasn’t. Maybe he only showed up when the smoke detector started going off. But that didn’t make him less guilty. He’s been on Dean’s mind since... Since... And those eyes. And that overcoat.

“Cas,” Dean says, and something’s shifted. Maybe he’s distracted again. Maybe he doesn’t really care anymore. The loss of a pie is serious business, for sure, but, well, a consolation prize might make it okay. “I was distracted.”

Cas unhooks his arms. His head tilts ever so slightly. He looks at Dean like he can see straight through him, and whatever he sees makes his features soften.

Emboldened by that softness, Dean presses on. “Do you think we could, uh, do that thing again? Like the other night?”

Cas’s frown disappears entirely, and a tiny smile replaces it. “Will it help with your distraction?”

“I think so, yeah.”

So Cas crosses the distance between them, takes Dean’s face in his hands, and kisses him. And yeah, it is just as good the second time.

The next time Dean makes a pie, he asks Cas to stay and help. They get distracted, making out against the kitchen counter, and the pie burns again.

“Not my fault,” Dean says against Cas’s lips.

Cas corrects him. “No, it’s our fault.”

I’ve been stuck in the 100 hell and now all I can imagine is a destiel the 100 au. Castiel as Clarke, always trying to do his best for his ppl, always wanting to do what’s right and finding it difficult. Dean as Bellamy, beyond protective of his brother, wary of Castiel, not particularly liking him until they’re forced to work together to protect their ppl down on the ground. Becoming so close to each other, trusting and loving each other through it all. Chefs kiss! 👌🏾

“Because,” Balthazar said with a shrug, “you’re the most luminous captain—or, should I say, commodore—on this island. The highest earner, the highest success rate. You’re practically a myth. Even in the short time I’ve been here, I’ve heard the stories about you and your family.”

A muscle in Dean’s jaw jumped, his entire body coiling. He knew the stories. He didn’t need them recounted, but Balthazar did it for him anyway, as if it was a tale on par with Odysseus and Hercules.

“How does it go? That Poseidon fashioned your father from reef and seafoam—his agent on the land, tasked with defending the god’s kingdom by feeding as many of its adversaries to the water as he could? But he needed a weapon, so the king of the ocean sent him a woman, and that’s how you came about. Half-man, half-sea.”

Airily, he continued, “It’s quite charming, isn’t it? The belief the others have in you, the so-called Sword of the High Seas.”

Dean hated the fairytale. He was just a regular guy, nothing more. But pirates would believe anything, and Sam always said it was good to let them spread the story. That they could use it as a shield against their enemies—but Dean wasn’t a shield.

That was the second half of the story, the one that Balthazar hadn’t seemed to have heard about yet. 

That one day there’d come another, a protector; and that together, the two of them would unite the Pirate’s Republic. That no one would ever have to worry about empires or shackles or colonial rule ever again. Some people even said this newcomer would be Poseidon himself, raised from the water.

It was a bunch of bullshit. Dean was no savior, and he certainly would never fight in the service of a god or a king.

“Yeah, and what does that make Sam, huh?” Dean answered dryly. “A musket ball?”

What’s your thoughts on momochako xxx

I’m gonna be honest, I’ve never thought about momochako before this ask…but now that you mention it…

Ochako LOVES to cuddle!! Her parents always gave her lots of hugs and squeezes to make her feel better as a kid, and now that she’s older she still loves just plopping herself down in her girlfriend’s lap when she needs comfort. It’s especially grounding because when there’s someone hugging you tight, there’s almost no chance of, say, accidentally activating your Quirk on yourself and floating into the stratosphere.

Who makes the bed? That’s a good ass question. Momo probably had staff to do it for her for most of her life (oh god…what if she thinks the bed literally just makes itself? that’d be simultaneously hilarious and sad), while Ochako gives me strong “I don’t have time to worry about my BED, I got more important things to do!!” vibes. In conclusion, the bed just doesn’t get made.

Momo gets up earlier because (according to Ochako), “sleep doesn’t cost money”.

Momo definitely has the weirder taste in music, just cuz it’s definitely not what everyone else their age is listening to. Probably like, exclusively classical music and Queen or something. Idk, what do rich people listen to?

Momo is absolutely the more protective of the two. Ochako is more aggressive, yeah, but if you get between Momo and someone she cares about? Get ready to catch hands and also exploding matryoshka dolls, bitchboi

Momo sings in the shower cuz she’s got the time. Ochako was probably conditioned from a young age to take shorter showers, use less water, get in get clean get out kinda deal. Momo is working on it.

They both cry during movies. They’re too pure not to.

Momo ABSOLUTELY spends more than Ochako does when they’re shopping together, and it drives. Ochako. NUTS. “Why get that here when there’s a knockoff two blocks down that’s 70% cheaper? Why get that now when there’s no sale on it? Where are my cOUPONS???”

Neither one kisses particularly rough, just cuz they’re both babies with little to no experience. They’re tentative babs. Smol. Must protecc. And then ofc they get more confident and Ochako kisses rougher than Momo.

Momo is more dominant than Ochako

My rating of the ship: 6/10 for unfamiliarity, 8/10 for maximum squish potential

I know about Midnight but what’s wrong with Pixie Bob as a character?

Pixie Bob makes a comment about calling dibs on Iida, Todoroki, Bakugo, and Midoriya and makes kissy faces at them while saying shes gonna groom them, which clearly implies she wants to be in a relationship with them, especially by Mandalay’s following line “It’s gotten worst lately, she’s at the age to mate” after being asked by aizawa if shes always like this. This is in the english version of the anime, however I read the manga and there is still elements of this as well as in the anime normally though obviously with different wording. It was a one off line so many people dont really keep it in mind especially since Midnight is more clear with her uncomfortable comments, but I believe this was inappropriate regardless.

Two separate points! I saw a asks in this but I saw a post about Uraraka using a shield cause it’s both offensive but more importantly defensive and protective and now it’s the only thing I can think of. I also wanted to ask what are some of your favourite Uraraka and Momo ships

also uhhhhh tsuchako is a big fave! momojirou too! i really love all the wlw ships with the girls. and not specifically wlw but i do love bi!izuocha cus i think theyd be cute and they suffer from The Source Writer Sucks Writing Disease which is very tragic :pensive:
