No progress report for today. However, I can share this video I recorded yesterday.
For patch 1.4.5 I've been doing a lot of testing with the gamepad.
Turns out that it doubled as training, so my skills with it have improved!

Just finished Year One of my casual, no cheats save :3
Not a perfect or minmaxed game at all, but still amazingly good! Found an ancient seed halfway through Spring and, thanks to a heavily blessed Traveling Cart, managed to get the Greenhouse build somewhere during Winter~
Didn’t quite max out the skills and haven’t started any romance (and heartbreak) yet. Only 5 hearts with their top ten frens... all shopkeepers, romantic targets, and the village moms lol. Religious mom got dropped for the Wizard tho, since she refused to leave her damned house, so I won’t be getting any Tea Leaves until I stalk her later.
BEST THINGS FROM THE UPDATE: Fish Ponds (I have 6!) Stackable Artisan Equipment
the new clothes look rad, too, but I haven’t touched anything I wasn’t handed. I love being able to banish the dumb copper pan by wearing it as a hard hat lmao. Also, a flying skull monster dropped some black pants and a skeleton shirt, so I must have wandered into a Hot Topic at some point. :P

KSP Weekly: The Ghost Particle
Welcome to KSP Weekly! Yesterday, scientists at the US National Science Foundation (NSF) made an announcement to reveal exciting findings from its IceCube observatory at the South Pole. IceCube – opened in 2010 – is designed to detect neutrinos from elsewhere in the cosmos that make their way to Earth. It uses 86 strings of detectors stretching 2.5 kilometers (1.6 miles) below the Antarctic ice to hunt for these particles. If a neutrino strikes an atom in the ice, it explodes in a shower of secondary particles, detected by the observatory, which then works out where the neutrino came from. Now for first time ever, an international team of astronomers has found the origin of some of these high-energy particles coming from the distant universe!
A neutrino is a fundamental subatomic particle just as tiny as an electron, but without any charge. Scientists know neutrinos have a tiny bit of mass, but they can't pin down exactly how little, because neutrinos don't interact with their surroundings very often, which makes them difficult for scientists to spot. However, on September 22, 2017, the IceCube observatory detected an incoming high-energy neutrino. This advanced detector has a real-time alert system, and broadcasted the coordinates of the detection to astronomers around the world just 43 seconds after its discovery.
About 20 observatories including NASA's orbiting Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope responded to the alert, and trained their views on the skies to try to work out where it was coming from. The process was possible because neutrinos, like photons of light, can cross extremely large distances in the universe in straight lines, without being pulled off course. Other types of high-energy particles can't do that because they are charged. The combined observations traced the neutrino's origin to an already-known blazar called TXS 0506+056, which lies about 4 billion light-years from Earth. Blazars are active galactic nuclei with a relativistic jet (a jet traveling at nearly the speed of light), in which the jet is directed very nearly toward the Earth, emitting gamma rays along other particles.
Physicists hope that by studying these particles, they can find clues about some of the biggest mysteries in the cosmos. One of those cosmic mysteries could include an explanation for dark matter. Dark matter has a gravitational pull on regular matter, and it has shaped the cosmic landscape throughout the history of the universe. Some theorists think dark matter could even be a new type of neutrino. We are now in an exciting new era of astronomy where we can study objects not just in electromagnetic radiation, but in the other particles they emit too. Incredible!
[Development news start here]
With an upcoming 1.4.5 patch about to come out of the oven, this week had the team performing various polish-related tasks. The QA team was particularly busy, testing and pushing to the limits all the fixes performed by the devs last week.
Meanwhile, the devs had also their good share of work. For instance, the version checking system has been fully established. This versioning system will trigger a warning dialog whenever there’s a problem with a save, craft or mission file due to incompatibility. Users will be able to load their files anyways, but at their own risk of course.
The work on KSP Enhanced Edition is also at a similar stage. BlitWorks has been performing a great deal of bug fixes, improvements, and feedback-based additions for an upcoming patch for the console versions of KSP, and we’re getting really close to its launch. So stay tuned to learn more about the patch and its official release date!
Remember that you can also share and download missions on Curse, KerbalX, and the KSP Forum.
That’s it for this week. Be sure to join us on our official forums, and don’t forget to follow us on Twitter and Facebook. Stay tuned for more exciting and upcoming news and development updates!
Happy launchings!

docharvard’s stardew mega modlist v.2
howdy doody everyboody!
my last modlist did pretty well with regards to notes, but there have been some major changes to both stardew and my modlist since then, so i thought it was high time i made a new one! once again, this is mostly graphical overhauls, with a few gameplay tweaks and cheats here and there. most of these mods are fairly popular, so chances are you would already know them, but i hope this compilation finds its use anyway. now, without further ado, the list starts under the cut!
one final warning before i proceed, as of today 21st of February 2020, some of these mod’s official releases do not work with Stardew 1.4.5, but they do have unofficial patches floating around on the forums that update them to work with this patch, and i will be linking to those instead of the official releases for those mods (you will need a chucklefish forums account to download them). if you see this in a few months or weeks time from when it is posted, it is probably in your best interests to check the official releases for updates.
ENGINES/PRE REQS most of, if not all, the mods on this list will require some combination of the following engines to run. i know nothing about coding, so i cannot give an apt description of what they do or how they work, but trust me, you will need them. if you don’t download all of the mods in this list, you might not need all of them, check the requirements segment on a mods nexus page to see which of these engines you will need to run it.
SMAPI - SMAPI is the modding API for Stardew, necessary for all modding (besides old xnb mods).
Content Patcher
Custom Critters
Json Assets
Mail Framework Mod
More Grass
PyTK
SpaceCore
TMXL Map Toolkit
QUALITY OF LIFE mods that don’t change the game significantly, but slightly improve the base mechanics to make it easier/better.
Auto Animal Doors - automatically opens all barn and coop doors at a set time every morning, and closes it once all animals are back inside at night.
Big Silo - increases the hay capacity of silos to around 200k.
Casks Everywhere - gives the player the ability to put casks anywhere, instead of only in the basement of the house.
Crop Transplant - gives the player the ability to move crops and trees without destroying them.
Mod Update Menu - puts a handy-dandy extra button on the main menu that shows you your modlist and whether any mods are out of date. clicking on a mod in the list will take you to its web page, if you want to download the updated version. (sometimes, like SMAPIs console, it is wrong. occasionally will tell you a mod is out of date when it isn’t, but is more often right than wrong.)
No Crows - removes crows, no more losing crops to those thieving corvid so-and-so’s.
No Fence Decay - fences no longer decay and break down over time. they stand for time immeasurable, like the monolith in space odyssey, or the empty shell of a blockbuster video.
Safe Lightning - lightning will only strike lightning rods, or if none are available, it will not strike at all.
Stack Everything - gives the player the ability to stack every item in the game, items like casks can now be stacked instead of having a 1:1 ratio in inventory/chest space.
UI Info Suite - ui overhaul(ish) that adds things like being able to see if you’ve pet an animal that day, whether the travelling merchant is in town, what your luck is for the day, or how many days a crop/keg has until it’s finished, etc. this mod is a must have for any playthrough, even if you’re going completely vanilla. possibly the most useful mod that exists for stardew.
GAME TWEAKS things that add mechanics or change gameplay. immersion (i don’t know what else to call it)
Babies Take After Spouse - makes your children actually look like the offspring of your chosen spouse. also adds some more outfits for toddlers, if you’re into that.
Canon Friendly Dialogue Expansion - adds a metric buttload of new dialogue for all of the friendable characters, in case you’re sick of seeing the same four sentences on loop.
Cat Gifts - bit of a misnomer, makes your pet (either cat or dog) occasionally bring you gifts of random items. it’s pretty darn cute.
Climates of Ferngill - expands the games weather system, as well as tweaking the original one, to add new things like fog, and weather that changes over the span of a day instead of being one set thing.
Eemie’s Bees - adds bees! they hang around your beehives! very cute!
Lunar Disturbances - adds a rad lunar system to the game, including an overhead moon that goes through phases. also adds stuff like eclipses and blood moons.
Mizu’s Flowers - adds so many new flowers to the game. frankly, it’s quite homophobic how few variations are in the base game.
Oasis Greenhouse - completely reworks the greenhouse to be way bigger (on the inside, it doesn’t take up more space on the actual farm) and have more rooms in which to do greenhouse things, like spots to grow trees.
Seasonal Villager Outfits - stardew residents will now change clothes on the reg, including during different events, depending on the weather, and with the seasons.
Slime Hutch Winery - retextures the slime hutch to look Not Garbage, and adds a customisable inside space that you can combine with Casks Everywhere to make a usable winery.
cheats there is only one mod in this section but i couldn’t figure out what other section to put it in.
CJB Cheats Menu - it’s a cheats menu. for cheating. amongst normal cheaty things like infite health and stamina, gives you the ability to increase your movement speed, and harvest crops with a scythe, which i find immensely useful.
AESTHETIQUE who needs the orignal graphics when you’ve got soft pastel versions? most of these are by elle, aka junimods. she’s good at aesthetic overhauls, sue me.
Bathroom Replaces Spouse Room - replaces the spouse room with one of three nicer looking bathrooms, in case your spouse has decided to have an unchangeable hideous colour scheme that does not go with the rest of your house, like all of them do.
Better Artisan Goods - retextures the artisan goods (milk, cheese, fruits, etc) to look prettier/more accurate.
Elle’s Cat Replacements - highly customisable cat retexture, including fur patterns, and the colour of its collar.
Elle’s Critter and Butterfly Replacements - retextures the little critters and butterflies that hang around the valley.
Elle’s Dog Replacements - same as the cat replacements but for dogs. the nomenclature is difficult to grasp, i know.
Elle’s New Barn Animals - retextures of all the barn animals, with a whole bunch of customisation options to choose from for each.
Elle’s New Coop Animals - same as the barn animals one. shocker.
Elle’s Seasonal Buildings - highly customisable retexture of all the buildings on the farm. pick from a bunch of designs and colour palettes to make your farm the best representation of you it can be. or don’t, i’m not your dad, i can’t tell you what to do.
Flippsie’s Alternative Lamp Posts - retextures lamp posts to look a little more victorian and aesthetic-y.
Garden Variety UI - customisable ui colours! let’s you customise the look of all the menus, inventory bar, etc, from a buuuunch of different colours and designs.
Industrial Kitchen and Interior - retextures the kitchen appliances and benches to a softer aesthetic.
Starblue Valley - reshades the whoooole of stardew to make it colour gooder. greens are more green, blues are more blue, and the whole game looks a lot less yellow and harsh. much softer and easier on the eyes.
Wildflower Grass Field - retextures and adds a bunch of variation to the grass that grows around the valley. instead of one grass texture everywhere, there is now over 50 possible combinations, really makes the whole place look much more realistic and varied.
Yellog’s Wood Craftables - retextures and redesigns the craftables (chests, beehives, kegs, cheese press, etc) to have a softer palette, with a rustic wooden aesthetic.
and that’s that folks! i also use these two harvey dialogue expansion packs, but that’s because he’s my favourite bachelor, so i kept them off the general list. i hope y'all found this modlist useful, sorry it took me so long to get around to making/updating it. thank you so much for all the followers on this newer sideblog of mine, it’s really cool to see other people enjoying a game that i love so much. catch y'all on the flipside! ^-^

Terraria Cross Play “In the Works” as Update 1.4.5 Wraps Things Up

One of the most frequently requested multiplayer improvements is Terraria cross play, and the developer of one of the best sandbox games informs players that it is being worked on while the team creates Terraria version 1.4.5. Additionally, he briefly discusses the team's intention to end Terraria as the game's creator, Re-Logic, plans to "launch a new game shortly" in order to "overcome the community jokes around final releases." Development on the next Terraria update began in early January after the Terraria devs took a month-long break through December to relax after releasing the massive, community-driven Labor of Love update in September 2022. Along with a wealth of quality-of-life updates and new features, this patch also finally saw parity between the various PC, console, and mobile editions of Terraria – something the team had long said was a priority before cross play could be considered. Responding to a fan asking whether cross play compatibility between versions is still planned for the future, Re-Logic founder Andrew ‘Redigit’ Spinks says, “It’s in the works.” This serves as a welcome update for fans eager to play with friends on other platforms after Re-Logic said in November that “Crossplay planning is in full swing and we feel pretty good and confident with where we have netted out in those discussions.” It sounds like things are coming along smoothly, then. Re-Logic vice president Whitney ‘Cenx’ Spinks notes that “Cross play is not guaranteed but we really want to make it happen,” so keep your expectations managed for when it might arrive, though it sounds to be a high priority. Redigit also reaffirms that, after many years of updates that were initially suggested to be ‘final’ before more ideas spawned follow-ups, Terraria 1.4.5 is intended to be a smaller project that ties up loose ends. In response to a query about the possibility of boss variants, Redigit says, “It’s a cool idea, but would be a lot of work. We are trying to wrap things up so we can start a new game soon.” Exactly what’s next isn’t clear yet, though there has been plenty of talk about the idea of a Terraria 2, with Redigit sharing a hand-drawn collage of concepts for a sequel prior to the release of Labor of Love that he framed as “Terraria 2 concept art.” In the meantime, Re-Logic says in its January State of the Game that “we do not have a ton to showcase at this stage” for patch 1.4.5, “but rest assured that when we have spoilers to share we will do so. You know we won’t be able to help ourselves!” Regardless of what’s next, it’s been an amazing decade for Re-Logic, with the studio seeing incredible success as Terraria sales reflect years of excellent support. Cenx recently shared a ten year-old photo from “a trip that would change Terraria forever,” when she and Redigit beat Terraria together for the first time while staying inside during a frozen trip to Minneapolis. “Shortly after finishing our playthrough we began designing 1.2 and the snow biome,” Cenx explains – and here we are today. If you’re exploring the Terraria 1.4.4 update, take a look at our guide to all Terraria bosses in order to help checklist your adventure, and make sure you’re getting the best NPC benefits with our Terraria happiness guide. We’ve also got plenty of the best Terraria mods to install in 2023 if you want to freshen up your game with some new tweaks and features. Read the full article

#Stardew valley linux support update
The popular farming RPG Stardew Valley has posted an update detailing whats to come in the games 1.1 patch according to Next Save Point. Foraging for spring onions is a great way to earn money, especially once you’ve got Spring Onion Mastery. Stardew Valley Hints At Content For 1.1 Patch. Note: This was last confirmed to work during version 1.3.32. For those who don’t know, the Galaxy Sword is an awesome weapon with +4 speed and 60 to 80 damage. It may still work on an older version of the game. Note: This seems to have been patched out. This cheat works best when you use multiple Crystalariums. Some of the best cheats let you completely break the boundaries of games, and there’s one in Stardew Valley just for that. Note: This was last confirmed to be working in version 1.4.5. This cheat lets you have infinite energy, so you can get a ton done without having to worry about exhaustion. Fishing’s a pretty time consuming activity, and it’s a long slog to level 10. When the clock hits 2 a.m., your character will pass out wherever they are.
#Stardew valley linux support Pc
ConcernedApe previously said in interviews that it wouldn't get patched out for PC but he had to do so on the console versions due to stability reasons. Note: this no longer works on console versions of the game as of the 1.3 update. If you want to support the project’s development, you do so via patreon. If you want to contact me, whether it be for reporting any bugs or suggesting a feature, you can contact me via discord or twitter.

There are also keybinds and commands specific to some menus so do check out the lists for both in Mod Details page. There’s also a feature which Radar which plays a sound at objects nearby, since stardew valley does not support stereo sound, it is not that helpful in locating objects but this combined with a Path Finding feature in the future will make locating of objects like forages easier. Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, you set out to begin your new life. A feature called Read Tile which tells us the name of the object on the tile, if the object is crop then it will also tell us if the crop is harvestable. Menus are also accessible, although some of them are not accessible at the moment but they will be in the next few updates. There are keybinds that tell us the player’s health, stamina, money, etc. (taken from stardew valley wiki) What can the mod do? With a little dedication, you might just be the one to restore Stardew Valley to greatness!

But the valley seems full of opportunity. The community center, once the town’s most vibrant hub of activity, now lies in shambles. Ever since Joja Corporation came to town, the old ways of life have all but disappeared. Can you learn to live off the land and turn these overgrown fields into a thriving home? It won’t be easy. KSP Weekly: Planum Australe
Welcome to KSP Weekly! Recently, a team of researchers from the National Institute of Astrophysics (INAF) in Rome presented evidence of a vast subglacial liquid water reservoir on Mars’ South Pole.
The team, led by Dr Roberto Orosei used data collected by a radar instrument, the Mars Advanced Radar for Subsurface and Ionosphere Sounding (MARSIS), on board ESA’s Mars Express spacecraft.
The data showed that there was a source of liquid water spanning about 20 kilometers across in a region called Planum Australe, about 1.5 kilometers below the surface. It was detected by sending 29 sets of radar pulses under the surface, with reflections showing a radar signal almost identical to that from lakes of liquid water found beneath the ice of Antarctica and Greenland on Earth, heavily suggesting it is liquid water.
The exact nature of the water is unclear though. The characteristics of this suspected water are complicated by the conditions it is in. On Earth, subglacial lakes reach temperatures of about -60°C. But the intense pressure of the ice above lowers the melting point of the water, to the point where it exists as a liquid in large freshwater lakes. However, under this region on Mars, it’s thought the temperatures drop to about -68°C. In order for the water to remain liquid here, it is probably full of salts like magnesium, calcium, and sodium.
On Earth, a handful of subglacial lakes have been drilled into and we have found bacteria within them, so this discovery is considered as a major step in the hopes of finding past or present life on Mars.
A few years ago, scientists found evidence for water trickling on the surface, known as recurring slope lineae (RSL). However, these features are short-lived, with the water quickly evaporating in the low-pressure environment on the Martian surface.
It’s long been theorized, though, that there may be more stable bodies of liquid beneath the surface, as evidenced in this research. To answer this, researchers hope to use more data from Mars Express over the next years.
Although there is still much to learn and an actual drilling operation is still out of our reach, this is a very exciting discovery. On Earth, liquid water almost always means life. Coupled with the recent discovery of the building blocks of life on Mars, we might end up finding that life is much more common than we thought in the universe.
[Development news start here]
Yesterday we released Patch 1.4.5 and with it, various improvements and bug fixes for both the base game and the expansion have been included. For instance, we have incorporated a quality-of-life feature that lets you dismiss pop-up dialogs with the ESC button. We also fixed several issues regarding the Steam Workshop in-game incorporation, and included a subscribe/unsubscribe button to the Mission Play dialog for Steam shared files on the Community tab for your convenience. Click here to see the full release notes.

KSP Weekly: The Eagle Has Landed
Welcome to KSP Weekly! On this day, in 1969, Neil Armstrong and pilot Buzz Aldrin landed the Lunar Module Eagle on the Moon’s surface during the legendary Apollo 11 mission, and so fulfilled a national goal proposed in 1961 by U.S. President John F. Kennedy. This mission effectively ended the Space Race and remains unparalleled as one of, if not the greatest achievement ever accomplished by humankind.
Apollo 11 was launched by a Saturn V rocket from Kennedy Space Center on Merritt Island, Florida, on July 16 at 13:32 UTC and was the fifth manned mission of NASA's Apollo program. The Apollo spacecraft had three parts: a command module (CM) with a cabin for the three astronauts, and the only part that returned to Earth; a service module (SM), which supported the command module with propulsion, electrical power, oxygen, and water; and a lunar module (LM) that had two stages – a descent stage for landing on the Moon, and an ascent stage to place the astronauts back into lunar orbit.
After being sent to the Moon by the Saturn V's third stage, the astronauts separated the spacecraft from it and traveled for three days until they entered into lunar orbit. On July 20, 1969, the Lunar Module Eagle separated from the Command Module Columbia. Pilot Michael Collins, alone aboard the command module, inspected Eagle as it pirouetted before him to ensure the craft was not damaged. As the descent began, Armstrong and Aldrin found that they were passing landmarks on the surface four seconds early and reported that they were "long"; they would land miles west of their target point.
Five minutes into the descent burn, and 1,800 m above the surface of the Moon, the LM navigation and guidance computer distracted the crew with the first of several unexpected "1202" and "1201" program alarms. The program alarms indicated "executive overflows", meaning the guidance computer could not complete all of its tasks in real time and had to postpone some of them. After analyzing the situation, the Mission Control Center at Houston greenlit the descent.
When Armstrong again looked outside, he saw that the computer's landing target was in a boulder-strewn area just north and east of a 300-meter diameter crater (later determined to be West crater, named for its location in the western part of the originally planned landing ellipse). Armstrong took semi-automatic control and, with Aldrin calling out altitude and velocity data, landed at 20:17:40 UTC on Sunday July 20 with about 25 seconds of fuel left. Charles Duke, CAPCOM (Capsule Communicator) during the landing phase, acknowledged their landing by saying "We copy you down, Eagle."
The astronauts used Eagle's upper stage to lift off from the lunar surface and rejoin Collins in the command module on July 21, at 23:41 UTC. They jettisoned the module before they performed the maneuvers that blasted them out of lunar orbit on a trajectory back to Earth. They returned to Earth and splashed down in the Pacific Ocean on July 24 after more than eight days in space.
The landing was broadcast on live TV to a worldwide audience. Armstrong stepped onto the lunar surface and described the event as "one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind."
[Development news start here]
Yesterday we released the second patch of KSP Enhanced Edition on both PS4 and Xbox One! Within this patch many bug fixes and improvements were packed, as well as a few quality-of-life features. Click here to see the full release notes.
On the PC development front, this week we continued polishing and preparing the final details for the upcoming 1.4.5 patch. If you have been following our weekly updates you’ll know that this minor patch contains several bug fixes related to the in-game implementation of Steam Workshop, plus other bug fixes for the base game and the Making History Expansion.
If you are wondering if we’ve only been doing maintenance and support work lately, you’d be wrong, but you’ll need to be patient, we’ll reveal more details after 1.4.5 is out.
By the way, with the intention of providing more guidance for new players regarding the Making History Expansion, and the Mission Builder in particular, we started a new section in the KSP Wiki. We included the foundations to create a Manual, but we want to encourage the community to participate in the enrichment of this section, so feel free to add any content you believe that needs to be expanded upon.
Remember that you can also share and download missions on Curse, KerbalX, the KSP Forum and the KSP Steam Workshop.
That’s it for this week. Be sure to join us on our official forums, and don’t forget to follow us on Twitter and Facebook. Stay tuned for more exciting and upcoming news and development updates!
Happy launchings!
