馃煢 Patchwork Friendship Bracelet 馃煪
Back to your regularly scheduled bracelets! This one was a half-done bracelet from a few months ago. It doesn鈥檛 seem like much, but I鈥檝e been pushing myself to improve my technique, and I鈥檓 glad I won鈥檛 be leaving half-done projects lying around now :)

The perks of working at a fabric shop
Last summer, I got a bunch of surplus fabric samples from my boss, saving them from the trash.
I knew I wanted to make a blanket from them right away and spent a good bit of time counting, sorting and planning the arrangement. I tried to spread the colours and different patterns as evenly as possible and went for an otherwise simple approach, as this was my first time quilting anything bigger than a pillowcase. It was at times super difficult to wrangle this under my sewing machine and handstitching the binding all around took forever. I might add some more intricate stitches on the individual rectangles at some point, but for now I really like how it turned out and it makes for a fun cover for my couch.

Another MSQC pattern made with a batik layer cake (or four charm packs). It鈥檚 a little short for a twin, but not by much. I mean, it鈥檒l do the job LOL
I free motioned quilted it with spirals in each center and orange peels on each corner using my Husqvarna Topaz 20 and green glide thread.

The week of maximum baby quilts continues!!! Shades of green quilt 1 is in progress
45 minutes in and I鈥檝e ironed and cut out the fabric for two quilts*, laid out the quilt top pattern so it鈥檚 ready to sew, and cut the scraps down to useable** sizes as I went
*past me did not know how much fabric a baby quilt takes to make. I will make two baby quilts with the fabric I bought to make one lol. This one is a 6x6, the other will be a 6x7
**I have a set of sizes I鈥檓 currently using for my scrap quilt, and I鈥檓 trying to stay on top of cutting scrap down to size while it鈥檚 already ironed from cutting out quilt pieces. So far, I鈥檝e done it for this quilt and the buttons and butterflies quilt!

Do I need more clothes? No, probably not.
But I've got all these squares now. And I did math and adjusted my skirt pattern. And the bodice pieces are already cut out.
And, and... I would have to turn these into an actual quilt if I don't, and I'm pretty much out of materials to do that.

Remember when I used to knit? Lol. I still do, but I just get distracted by my pile of sewing projects sometimes.
Here is a little patchwork in progress. I am using up a lot of my flannel scraps to eventually make something with them. Mostly I just wanted to try out patchwork and see if it would drive me crazy to make enough fabric to sew a pair of shorts with... jury is still out on that one.

Last thing I'm spamming you all with. I scanned and uploaded a how-to Granny Square Crochet book from 1976. Its very informative, full of easy to follow illustrations, and has a few free patterns. (180 pages worth). Its all on my public google drive :)

I don't have a witty caption for this tbh. Get Zooble'd or something I guess.
