Boyfriend Sigma | Bungo Stray Dogs
Tumblr media
oh boy here we go with the scrunkly
The moment you show him any kind of kindness that's unconditional, Sigma latches to you like his life depends on it.
There's uncertainty when you first meet. He'll treat you like you're just another one of his patrons.
He's not entirely sure what it's like to love someone, but he's sure it must be the feeling he feels when he's around you.
It takes some time for Sigma to get used to the feeling of being with you, so please be patient and understanding. In due time, he'll know how to love you properly (not that he wasn't doing it right before, he just has a better sense of it now).
In front of his customers and employees, he treats you almost the same as any of his staff at the casino. Almost, though. He may act professional and keep himself at a distance from you, but that doesn't mean he's going to pretend that you're not his partner. He loves you dearly and would never make you feel that way.
Occasionally, there's a touch here and there on your waist or shoulder, reminding you that he's there with you. Or he may call you the sweetest pet names when requesting something of you.
It's not like his patrons or staff don't know you're together, so he's not going to pretend. Besides, some of them think it's real sweet and lowkey gush about you both when you're not around.
Behind closed doors, though, he's the clingiest man you've ever met. As soon as the two of you are comfortably back into your shared room, he immediately plops himself against you. He melts into your touch and deeply sighs as he takes you all in.
There's nothing he loves more than your touch, so it's almost relieving when he's finally able to be close to you again. He wants nothing more than to stay in bed snuggled up to you for the rest of the night.
Sigma will pass away on the spot if you leave him kisses all over his face and top his head. He finds it very endearing.
There will only be the very best for his lover. When it comes to dates, he likes to go all out and treats you to a lovely dinner prepared by his chefs from his casino's 5 star restaurant. Seeing you all dressed up makes him swoon. You're just so unbelievably beautiful in his eyes.
If you're wanting for something more casual, he can do that too. Though, he would prefer it if it was private still. A night in your shared home while you're both cuddled up and eating a home cooked meal, will do as well.
There isn't a single member of his security detail that doesn't know who you are. When it comes to you, Sigma takes your safety very seriously. He wouldn't know what to do with himself if anything bad happened to you.
Arguments or disagreements are very rare between you. Sigma will always try to work with you and listen to your needs and concerns. He would hate to see you upset with him.
But sometimes his instance to immediately fix things becomes too much, especially when all you need is a breather away from each other to collect your thoughts.
So if you're still upset with him, he'll become very tense and worried. But he will respect that you need some time to cool off, and with this time he'll think up of ways to make it up to you and tell you that he really is sorry.
Sigma deeply loves you, and he wants to talk things out. He would be heartbroken and a little empty if something ever happened between you both.
Smut Below
baby boi
super mega virgin, which is wild because he used to have women throw themselves at him since he's the boss of the casino
That kind of intimacy was only reserved for his future partner. Besides. he never really thought about it anyways. Sex was always something far from his mind.
But once he developed feelings for you and started dating you, all that was thrown out the window lol.
In the beginning, he's easily flustered and he's not sure what he's doing. So, he'll need some guidance and patience.
With time, he'll get the hang of it and give you exactly what you need.
Sometimes he thinks about you, especially when you're away. And the more he thinks, the more he imagines various things about you. He wonders about how you're doing, maybe what you're wearing too. Is it the cute underwear with the black bow on them? Do you miss him too? Because he misses you and he'll happily show you how much
Sigh, he's horny now
Sigma isn't very dominant but would be willing to take the lead if you're not comfortable. He's very soft and gentle with you. There's never going to be a time when the two of you have sex and it feels anything other than absolute adoration and love.
Oral king
He absolutely loves to devour you. Having a rough day? He'll drop to his knees in a moment's notice and make sure you forget all your troubles.
Can't explain, he just loves going down on you and making a mess.

Cinnamon and Lady Catherine from Feral Cat Foundation in Alamo, California
Click here for more information about adoption and other ways to help!
Click here for a link to Feral Cat Foundation's main website.
Cinnamon and Lady Catherine are a bonded pair of fluffy 7-year-old cats. (Might be siblings; we are not sure.) Theirs is a bit of a hard-luck story, and they have some special needs. They’re looking for that special home to help them blossom, so if you think that might be yours, read on!
Six years ago, the two fluffballs were trapped in a retail parking lot as part of a feral cat fixing program. Both seemed pretty feral at first, but with one needing extra medical care and both being so doggone cute, their rescuer just couldn't bear to return them to the parking lot. She kept them at her home and worked with them, seeing substantial progress over time.
Cinnamon is a cute-as-can-be orange male cat. When he first came to us, his tail was dragging on the ground. It was found to have permanent nerve damage and had to be amputated. He didn’t seem to miss it, and has just a cute little nub on his backside now. Cinnamon has developed a sweet, demure and laid-back personality. He has such a lovable begging face when he wants pets, purrs very loudly and looks so serene when he receives them!
After some time in foster care, Cinnamon was noticed straining to urinate and was found to have bladder stones. He had surgery to remove them, and thereafter was placed on a prescription diet formulated to keep the bladder crystals from recurring and forming into stones. Right now he’s primarily eating Hills S/O dry food. (Increasing the amount of wet food would probably be even better if you can.) At any rate, he’s been maintaining on the diet for several years now, and the bladder issue has not recurred. To check up on him, we had an ultrasound done very recently, and the vet found no signs of additional stones forming. So, it’s a good indication that the diet is working as planned and keeping him healthy. The food is easy to obtain, and while it is a little more expensive than regular cat food, it’s not outrageous.
Lady Catherine is a drop-dead gorgeous calico female and Cinnamon’s best buddy. She is shyer than Cinnamon, and would require a good dose of patience as she settles into a new location. Once she gets to know someone, she can be quite friendly, rubbing coquettishly on the cat tree and hoping for a visit. She does blow a bit hot and cold and sometimes just isn’t in the mood at all. We are sure that with more personalized attention, she would continue to blossom further and really get the chance to live her best life.
For convenience since they are roommates, Lady Catherine has been eating the same food as Cinnamon (it doesn’t hurt for her to eat it, even though she doesn’t require it).
What is so much fun about these two, is watching them interact together. They spend most of their time sitting and cuddling together, or sort of weaving around each other with purrs and nuzzles. It is really sweet to see how much they love each other!
A couple years ago, this pair actually did get adopted. Their new dad adored them but tragically, he passed away unexpectedly, and the family called the rescue to come repossess the cats. They had been blissfully happy in the home, and they do not understand why they had to come back to foster care. From this experience, we know Cinnamon and Catherine would need a quiet home with patient person(s) willing to take it slow. It would probably go best to keep them in one room of the house for a month or possibly a couple months until they acclimate. They would not be a good fit for a home with kids or dogs; they have gotten very accustomed to quiet adults. They do get along great with other cats, but of course there is the food requirement so if there are other cats eating other food in the home, you’d need a method to separate Cinnamon for feeding (which certainly is not impossible and we can talk about strategies for this, if that’s your situation).
Both kitties are about 7 years old at this time. I know most people will think this is too old for a new cat… keep in mind however that with proper care, indoor kitties typically live 15-20 years. Cinnamon and Lady Catherine have a whole “ACT TWO” ahead of them! They are special kitties, and so very deserving of that second chance to live their best life. They have been fixed, brought up to date on vaccinations, and tested FIV/FELV negative. They have always done a great job of using the litterbox! There is an adoption donation to the Feral Cat Foundation (an all-volunteer organization, which helped get them out of a bad situation and provided all of their medical care) to help us continue our work with homeless cats. If you would like to meet this fluffy pair or have any questions, please reach out by phone or email!

Your au designs are literally so cool! Could you tell me more about them? I’m genuinely very interested
Oh hello there! Or course!
I don't have too much information to give for now, but there some things about the principal trio of the Decepticons: Demolisher, Cyclonus and Starscream! — I love how disastrous they look in armada, so I will bring that chaos to my story too! >:]
Tumblr media
First of them, Demolisher. Well, Demolisher had a big devotion to Megatron, sacrificing himself a lot for him. He was considered Megatron's right arm on the Decepticons, army. For him being so devotional to Megatron's will, he had a lot of jealous stares at him, but he didn't care! Well, not for so long...
Have in mind that at this time he had his both eyes, he lost one or his eyes because Megatron punished him for slipping a little bit, and with a little bit I mean, for his teammates fault, one important war prisoner has escaped from one of the cells — I still deciding who it will be btw, but it will probably be a wrecker — Megatron was furious, that prisoner could bring a ton of important information, the first person that Megatron saw in his choleric walk was Demolisher, and then the worst happened... That was one of the first times that Megatron really snapped and abused of his power with one of his soldiers.
In this AU he doesn't hates Megatron, but he blames himself for his failure everyday, he has a perfectionist personality and he panicks when everything goes out of his hands, when Starscream meet with him for the first time he didn't understood why Demolisher was so damn afraid of failure, like, he didn't wanna loose and fail, but when Starscream turns into Megatron's second in command he starts to know exactly what is going on.
And how do Cyclonus feels about all of that? He feels bad for his friend and that he could do nothing to help, but he tells dumb and idiot jokes trying to rip a smile of Demolisher's face. Demolisher acts like he doesn't care and that he's indifferent, but he really enjoys his jokes and loves Cyclonus presence. Cyclonus can feel that.
Now about Cyclonus! Well, he's a yong boy! — kinda 22 yroish — he is a bit inexperienced in combat and it's slow to get some information, since his attention span is low, Demolisher always have to explain him things in the most careful and slowly way possible and he's very patience about that, Cyclonus feels very lucky to have a friend that finally comprehend his condition.
Demolisher rather's explain things to Cyclonus one million of times than see his friend suffering like he did in the past, Decepticons can be ignorant, stupid and sadistic sometimes, they would probably smash his brain with information since he is pretty easy to confuse and manipulate, and then they would use it to laugh in the lunch break.
Cyclonus is pretty interested about human comedy and internet culture, it's like hiperfixation for some reason, nor even demolisher understands it, but Demolisher enjoys watching pet videos with him, his favorite type of videos of this kind are about birds, while Cyclonus favorite pet videos includes cats and dogs. He tells to Demolisher that he looks like a soggy cat everyday.
Cyclonus is not so close to Starscream as Demolisher, but he doesn't mistreat him. Starscream can look a bit scary for him since he is almost all the time quiet and he just observes him with a glare when he needs to say something important to him. But with all the things that are happening because of Megatron, he tries to finally get along with him. It's a hard work, but he's trying his best with Demolisher's help.
And finally, we have Starscream dude, that guy is the definition of an LInking Park 2016 AMV, Just like in armada! But his quieter than normal, well, he's cold forged, and his brothers too, almost every cold forge has some mental of physical issue because of the bad development of the spark and by the fact that the spark sometimes feels despersonalizated, so sometimes you can see him fazed by his on thoughts.
He's a strong and pretty intelligent soldier, that got Megatron's eyes and he put the seeker's versatility on proof. Megatron puts him as his second in command, since it would he great if they separated the army by ground and air.
Starscream, his brothers and other seekers joined the cons because they hated their creators who subjected them to so much pain and Megatron knew it, his twisted mind took advantage of that and made the seeker go to the same crooked way as him, doing questionable things against his morals and conceptions of freedom
At the start, he doesn't get along with Demolisher and Cyclonus, but when he see and feel them treating and caring of his wounds caused by Megatron's unfounded rage he started to tolerate their presence at the start, then he finally accepts them as his friends. — he secretly watches videos about kittys without "Cyclonus discovering it" (Cyclonus already knows and he finds it kinda cute) —
Tumblr media
That's it, their dynamic. There's a lot of things that I need to fix, add and complement, but for now it's only that!
And one more thing, sorry if my english sounds a little cracked, english is not my first language.
— Thanks for the ask! :]

random bluey rant
I could never forget tiktokers got so mad at bluey in Sheepdog. all cus she's six years old who can't understand why her mom chili wants to be alone. gee I don't know, perhaps it's cus she felt guilty for playing the recorder too loud, blame herself and believing chili hates her now. "oh but bingo is fine." that's cus she's 4, she doesn't had to think deep stuff unlike bluey who at her current age begins to develop basic complex thoughts like guilt and sympathy. it's finally until the end Wendy and chili finally explained it's not bluey's fault, sometimes adults need 30 minutes. see? bluey learned a lesson and yet those people just love to annoy you bluey is a bad kid. wow okay sorry you're own parents don't love you and self projecting your hatred to a cartoon dog.
like idk it's weird these older bluey fans love this kids show but their blood boils when a fictional kid does/say something wrong.
The Bluey fandom is weirdly vicious to Bluey herself. Bluey's a seven-year-old child who's at an age where it's natural to test boundaries, and she's extremely sensitive about the prospect of not being perfect or not being loved by her parents. She needs that reassurance, and to know that it still holds true even when her parents' patience is being tested.

How to not kill your husband: A Guide in Patience
James was doing too much, again.
She knew that he was adorable and it came from the best part of him, but it was too much too soon, and in all her honest self she couldn’t see why I’d matter. Harry barely noticed anything that didn’t involve his toys and when one of them left the room.
Yet, James was hanging another garland.
The house already looked like Santa threw up in it and left behind all decorations that clashed and mashed: golden tinsel, all colour lights on the tree, and the gleaming deers, rats, dogs and wolves going around and about the living room.
She wanted to strangle her husband and bolt out the door, because she wasn’t about to clean two messes: decorations and crime scene.
Lily couldn’t blame James for her foul mood, it wasn’t his fault, well not entirely.
Harry had been up most of the night, poor thing was teething and he could only communicate through screaming and crying. James had tried to help with the night watch, trying to distract Harry. Unfortunately Harry only wanted mummy.
Which made James try to make up for it somehow and developed in the predicament they were in.
Everything felt too loud, visually and audibly, and Lily had come up with the third plan of the morning on how to shove ornaments up James’ throat if he started singing Merry Hippogryphs one more time. Feeling half bad that she had murderous intentions towards her husband.
Lily had tried to retrieve towards the kitchen, which was a terrible idea as on top of the decorations, James was making biscuits and cake, and all sorts of things that made her little space on the table feel crowded as well.
Of course James wasn’t oblivious to his wife, he had made sure to leave her favourite nook by the window untouched, just yet, so she could relax and just rest with a cuppa in her hands.
He really thought Lily would stay in bed a little longer, what he forgot was to soundproof their room as he had done with Harry’s and that his ruckus was all Lily could hear.
In James’ mind he was just compensating for the fact that he was not around as much lately. He and Sirius had a lead, and with the Order spy they tried not to involve too many people. That left Lily with Harry on most occasions and he felt he needed to fix that somehow, every little detail counted.
Today it was Christmas decorations.
James knew that Harry was too little to understand what this meant, but it was their first Christmas as a family, some idiotic notion that it will set the tone for the ones to come. He wished he could go all out, have a party like his parents used to, invite all their friends and extended family, with all the decorations and pastries and meals. To keep traditions living, his and Lily’s. But even with Harry, their family seemed to be getting smaller instead of bigger, and some things seemed to be slipping through.
Something else that James wished to change.
He was about to double check his creation when Harry started crying.
Poor guy just woke up cranky and they could hear him from the other side of the house.
James saw his wife, she was a bit pale, and was nursing a cuppa, with a frown set on her face. Which changed to a tired sigh knowing that she would need to deal with the child (on top of the man child she married).
No one would ever believe that Lily didn’t love her child, much less James, but it took that much to notice the dark circles below her eyes, and how pale her skin was. Her movements were slow, like trying not to bump into things. He remembered that feeling, being so tired that your brain just made you extra clumsy.
I made James feel extra guilty for not helping more. Just as the redhead was about to stand up, James quickly kissed the top of her head and murmured, “I’ll get him,” before running upstairs.
That simple gesture brought all the warmth and love to the surface, letting the bitterness of a sleepless night mellow a bit, and Lily's murderous thoughts quiet.
She could hear James from the spell, the hearing charm they had on Harry’s room, as he arrived. “Someone woke up on the wrong side of bed,” James's teasing voice sounded, making the little guy cry harder.
Lily wasn’t proud to admit that a little bit of satisfaction was felt when things didn’t go smoothly with Harry. She still adored James, and hated that her son was crying, but it made her feel like Harry didn’t particularly love crying only to her face. It made her feel like a terrible mother to not be able to soothe her baby, and lately it felt that James had the magic touch (no pun intended).
It also felt like instant karma for waking her up at an ungodly hour with the movement and decoration spree. She wasn’t proud to feel that kind of satisfaction but no one said Lily Potter was perfect.
“Come on, lad. Don’t be cross, we are going to make you feel better.” Lily heard James console Harry, figuring he picked him up from the crib and was bouncing him like he used to. Walking around the nursery as he spoke to the little guy.
Harry was still a little fuzzy yet Lily took comfort in the little noises that she heard from Harry’s room: She heard James hum the little song that always made Harry giggle, the poor thing still was crying, not as hard, but some whining remained, as he listened to James’ singing.
It was odd how James seemed to be comforting Lily as much as Harry.
“Are your teeth feeling achek-y?” James kept talking to Harry, which made Lily close her eyes and listen closely, relaxing the tension on her shoulders little by little. She could hear the taps of James’ steps coming from the ceiling as he paced around trying to get Harry to calm down for a bit. “There you go, that must make you feel better.”
Harry grew almost quiet after that, she could still hear him muted babble things back to James, he wasn’t fuzzing anymore, and she figured that James used a potion to make the teething experience something less traumatic for them all, as well as giving Harry his bib.
The warmth took Lily by surprise, as it always did. She should be used to it by now, but the little things always sneaked up on you. She was ready to kill James moments ago, viciously murder him; but the way he cared for them, their little family, was exactly the reason she loved James Potter so much.
It also infuriated her.
It was exactly the same as when they were at Hogwarts, James did this balancing act between being the most annoying person around, to being the most thoughtful. It always caught her out of guard, like her feelings were always a turmoil; between thinking he was an abusive toerag and the most attentive person ever existing.
It made her doubt her heart for so long.
But James showed his true colours when he wasn’t trying to impress her, or anyone else. When it was all quiet and thought no one was paying attention.
Like the way he always helped Peter with his History homework because it seemed that he always kept falling asleep in class (not that Lily could blame him). Or how he made sure Mary always had someone to go from one class to the other after Mulciber’s incident. Lily didn’t know that it was him that coordinated everyone, just to make Mary feel safer, not until the end of the year when Lily pointed out how lovely it was for the whole Gryffindor tower to do that for her.
How he always made sure that Remus’ favourite chair in the common room would be empty after the full moon, and how Marlene kept raving how great of a friend he was even when Sirius was being an ass to her.
Lily hated not to have control on how fast and steady she fell in love with James' great heart. Because she was really hating the decorations, and she was almost about to commit murder, but the way he spoke to their son, and how calm and steady he looked bringing him down from his room made it all go away. All the noise, and the lights, and the terrible headache from not sleeping.
“Now, we need to be nice to mummy, she is about to bite daddy’s head off.” James said with a tease in his tone, smirking knowingly at his wife. “How about we try to get you some bananas eh? Think you might like those?”
The question earned a babble from Harry and a chuckle from Lily, “I think there are some smashed in the back of the fridge.” she replied behind a smile, as she saw her two favourite people enter the kitchen.
“What about a stronger cuppa for mummy? Maybe an Irish coffee?” James teased on the other end of the house as Lily took her wand out.
“Bribing me with liquor so I don’t hex your arse?” she joked back, moving some clashing decorations from one place on the mantle, so they could be more evenly distributed. If she left it like that it would drive her insane for the rest of her Christmas.
James laughed, making Harry complain that he wasn’t paying attention to his feeding, which knowing James he was moving too much, too fast, for the little guy’s mouth to catch the meal. “I need to use all my tricks, but I know you’ll hex me whenever you feel like it, Mrs Potter.”
Lily rolled her eyes at the empty living room, “I shouldn’t have changed my last name, I should have kept it Evans, Harry Evans has a nice ring to it.” she was bluffing, there was no meanness to her voice, no sharp edges, just tiredness.
Yet she heard the loud dramatic gasp her husband made, “How can you do that! He has the Potter mane!”
Lily entered the kitchen and kissed the top of Harry’s messy hair, “And I hope that’s the only bad trait that he inherits from you, I don’t think my sanity would take the letters from Minerva.”
“Fair enough.” James tried to feed Harry again, but the little one just kept shaking his head avoiding the spoon, trying to grab some of the biscuit batter from the table. “I don’t think you’re old enough for those yet wee bairn.” he put the batter farther away and tried to feed Harry once more, earning a quiver from Harry’s lower lip, meaning he was about to cry again. “Oh no, no, we just got on good terms.”
Lily had sat down and poured herself a cuppa, she was seeing James struggle with feeding little Harry, and all she could do was chuckled. She was exhausted, she almost wanted to kill her husband, but it was moments like these ones that made it all worth it, just when her heart ruled over her tired body and she could just feel the love in the room, and around her family.
However, James wasn’t out of the woods just yet, she would just let him struggle a little bit before joining the pursuit in finding something else that Harry might like for breakfast.

Ok Melody, It's time to choose long-term growth over short-term pleasure. A continuous and conscious process. Integrating these strategies into your decision-making and lifestyle. Empower yourself to build a future that aligns with your deepest aspirations and values. Intentionally using the words aspirations and objectives in place of goals. I do not always believe goal setting to be healthy. Also, self evaluating and defining what my real values are!
1. Define Your Long-term Goals
Clearly articulate your long-term aspirations, both personally and professionally. This clarity provides a roadmap for making decisions aligned with your overarching objectives.
Melody's: my retirement will consist of; 1. aiding my sons and their growth, whatever it may be (schooling, their own children, financial stability, work) 2. Providing medical care or volunteer work i find rewarding. 3. Travel!!
If I am lucky enough to find a life partner, they would need to accept and align with my long term objectives and aspirations.
2. Prioritize Values
Identify and prioritize your core values. Aligning choices with these values ensures that your decisions contribute to your long-term growth and fulfillment.
Melody's: integrity, wisdom, growth, honesty, trust, fairness, respect, responsibility, courage, creativity, curiosity, innovation, adaptability, communication, dependability, authenticity, empathy, self perseverance, careful/mindful altruism.
3. Practice Mindful Decision-Making
Before making choices, take a moment to consider the long-term consequences. Mindful decision-making involves weighing the impact on your aspirations and objectives and well-being.
Melody's: mindful decision making questions; what is driving me? Does it align with my core values? What are my needs? What are the consequences? How will it impact others? What am I sacrificing? What are my other options and their risks and trade-offs? Does this decision need to be made now? What are the trade-offs? What does my body need? Am I doing this with the right people? Is this impulsive?
4. Set Incremental Milestones
Break down long-term goals into smaller, achievable milestones. Celebrate these milestones to maintain motivation and reinforce the importance of sustained effort. Apply the SMART framework:
Specific: Clearly state what you want to achieve, avoiding vague terms.
Measurable: Set metrics to track your progress and know when you've reached a milestone.
Achievable: Ensure your smaller goals are realistic and attainable within the timeframe.
Relevant: Align your smaller goals with your overall long-term vision.
Time-bound: Set deadlines for each smaller goal to create a sense of urgency
Melody's: focus focus focus ignore the noise.
For my weekly home routine: Get back on track with my yard watering cycle.!! Get back on track with my weekly exercise routine. It helps motivate myself, my family, and is good for my dog. Sunday, Meal planning in advance for the week. Budget check, are my bills paid and have I set aside money for any trips and my emergency savings? Throughout the week- balance my weekly endeavors with the time it takes to pick up after them. Clean up - Create workstations that can easily be set aside and picked back up with ease. with a place for everything and everything in its place. Try to avoid clutter. Keep areas that build clutter and check weekly. Do not impulsively spend money on gambling or drinking. Make sure that if I want to do those things I have planned for it and have the extra funds available.
At the end of the week reassess if I have met these weekly objectives. Did I put too much on my plate? Was I able to do these things throughout the week effectively easily without stress?
Celebrate with... ??? Not too sure... 🤔
5. Cultivate Patience
Recognize that long-term growth requires patience. Develop the ability to endure challenges and setbacks with resilience, understanding that the journey is gradual.
Melody's: Real prioritizing, am I doing too much and not giving myself the time I need to do it in a balanced manner with the routine I want to maintain? If not, take nice deep breaths, reassess, and adjust where needed.
6. Build Healthy Habits
Establish and maintain habits that contribute to your overall well-being. This includes physical health, mental well-being, and habits that align with your personal and professional goals.
Melody's: Make sure I am getting enough sleep and giving my kids the attention they need and keeping myself grounded and centered. Avoid impulsiveness!!
7. Create a Financial Plan
Develop a financial strategy that prioritizes long-term stability over short-term indulgences. Save and invest wisely to secure your financial future.
Melody's: write down and track my outgoing and incoming cash. Find some way to set aside money that will require mindfulness. Possibly get several piggy banks with labels on them!!! Keep her running ledger that's accessible and tidy. Bills and Plan in advance for events like graduations, school costs, My children's needs, our weekly grocery bill, large purchases, upcoming trips, holidays. Set money into the emergency fund, preferably 10%. Money into a fun jar/reward jar.
8. Learn Continuously
Foster a mindset of continuous learning. Embrace opportunities for skill development and knowledge acquisition, enhancing your capabilities over time.
Melody's: continue to look into going back to medical school! Remember that I need to maintain my CEUs over a 2-year period for renewal with my medical license.
9. Balance Immediate Pleasure
  - It's not about complete deprivation. Allow yourself moments of pleasure, but strike a balance. Ensure that short-term indulgences don't undermine your long-term objectives.
Melody's: If I don't have the money for it don't do it. If it's impulsive and possibly be toxic or destructive don't do it.
10. Reflect Regularly
  - Engage in regular self-reflection. Assess your progress, reassess your goals if necessary, and acknowledge the steps you've taken toward long-term growth.
Melody's: I'm still relatively new to getting a single mom. The two years I have allowed myself my Rumspringa. Now it is time to hone in on living with purpose. Is my weekly / monthly routine eating me and what I want in my long-term aspirations and objectives?
11. Surround Yourself with Support
  - Build a supportive network. Surround yourself with individuals who encourage and understand your commitment to long-term growth, providing positive reinforcement.
Melody's: avoid toxic people and situations! Do not be impulsive! Make sure that I commiserate with people whose ideas and lifestyles align with my own. Be genuine and honest. If I find that I am putting on any kind of a front or facade and not being myself, that is not a healthy situation for me and I need to get away from it.
12. Avoid Impulsive Decisions
  - Resist impulsive decisions that prioritize immediate pleasure over your long-term goals. Take the time to weigh the consequences before making choices.
Melody's: Make sure that I am managing my time. If I have a last minute offer to do something, weigh it against its effect on my daily routine, my weekly routine, and how it will impact my children.
13. Visualize Success
  - Create a vivid mental image of your envisioned success. Visualization can serve as a powerful motivator, reinforcing your commitment to long-term growth.
Melody's: create vision board
14. Seek Professional Guidance
  - Consider seeking advice from mentors, coaches, or professionals who can provide insights and guidance on your journey of long-term development.
Melody's: um.... When possible.... I'm the meantime I will continue to read insightful material, weighing it's pertinence/practicality. Reminding myself to be open-minded and non-judgmental. Gleaning what I see fit.
15. Celebrate Achievements
  - Acknowledge and celebrate your achievements, whether big or small. Recognizing progress reinforces your commitment to the path of enduring growth.
Melody's: reassessment. Look back at what I've achieved, any monies that I have saved, The bills that I have paid, any progress in an area has there been achievement what progress has been made?

How Curb Bad Dog Behaviors
Tumblr media
Despite our best efforts, dogs can exhibit plenty of unwanted behaviors, from jumping on people to countersurfing for food. Any dog, whether they’re puppies or adults, may develop bad habits. Your dog wants to understand what you want them to do. It will take time and patience to make your goals clear and guide them away from bad dog behavior. Here are some strategies to help you curb unwanted behaviors.
Strategies for Success
Training Is Key
Teaching your dog to sit, come, or lie down may not seem related to behavioral problems, but it is. Positive reward-based training teaches your dog that good things happen when they do what you ask, strengthens your bond, and provides mental stimulation that will help tire them out, making them less likely to misbehave. Try introducing a new command each week and continue to practice the old ones. A great way to get started is by consulting a qualified dog trainer.
Tumblr media
Exercise Helps Release Energy
A tired dog is a good dog. If you’re gone 12 hours a day, and your dog’s walk consists of a quick dash into the backyard, your dog might not be getting enough exercise. They may channel extra energy into bad behavior for dogs, like chewing shoes or dragging you on the leash.
Puppies generally have more energy than adult dogs and require more exercise. Also, your dog’s breed influences the level of physical activity they need. If you have questions about how much exercise your dog needs, talk to your vet.
Prevent Them From Learning Bad Behaviors
It’s important to puppy-proof your house. This includes putting away shoes and toys and picking houseplants up off the floor. Supervise the puppy, even in your fenced-in yard, so they don’t even start to engage in bad dog behavior. It’s easier to prevent them from learning bad habits than it is to correct bad dog behavior.
Reward Desired Behaviors
If your dog is lying quietly instead of jumping or barking, praise and pet them. If your dog walks on a leash beside you, tell them what a good dog they are. If you tell your dog what you want them to do instead of what you don’t want them to do, they’ll understand better (for example, saying “sit” rather than “don’t jump,” or “heel” rather than “don’t pull”).
Tumblr media
Consistency Makes a Difference
It’s a good idea to have everyone follow the same rules when it comes to setting standards for dog behavior. If you don’t feed the dog from the table but someone else slips them treats, the dog will learn to beg at the table. If you ignore your dog when they jump on you but others pet them when they do, they’ll continue jumping on people.
Tips to Deal With Bad Dog Behavior
Jumping
First, greet your dog calmly, so you’re not getting them overly excited. If they try to jump on you, stand like a statue or turn your back. Since dogs jump up to get attention, refusing to give them attention is the best way to discourage jumping.
If you’ve taught your dog to sit, ask for them to perform that behavior, since a sitting dog can’t jump. Once they’re calmly sitting, get down on your dog’s level and give him the attention they want. Eventually, the dog should sit without being asked.
To prevent them from jumping on visitors, try putting your dog in their crate or keep them on leash until they calm down. You can block off access to others with a dog gate or guide your dog to go somewhere else with a “place” command.
Tumblr media
Chewing
Chewing is a necessary and normal behavior for dogs, especially when they’re teething. The most effective way to save your possessions from destruction is to keep them out of your dog’s reach. Instead, offer your dog edible chews or chew toys that are appropriate for their age and size.
Make sure to give your dog plenty of exercise and provide them with lots of mental stimulation. Also, teach them  the “leave it” command in case they somehow get hold of something they shouldn’t have.
Countersurfing
Once rewarded, countersurfing may take a long time to stop. Try to avoid feeding your dog scraps from the counter when you’re preparing food or cleaning up.
When you’re preparing food, you can put your dog in their crate. You can also teach them to stay in one spot (away from the food) with the “place” command. Another helpful command is “leave it,” in case the dog does grab a bite of food.
Pulling on the Leash
When you’re out for a walk, try not to pull your dog, since they’ll instinctively pull right back. Instead, reinforce walking nicely on the leash by providing praise, marking the good behavior with a dog training clicker, or offering a dog treat.
If your dog pulls on the leash, you can stop walking. You can also redirect by quickly reversing and calling them back to your side. Try to be consistent in your behaviors, not letting your dog pull you (and making sure anyone else walking them won’t let them pull).
At first, try practicing in a place where there aren’t many distractions. It’s important that your dog learns to pay attention to you, no matter how exciting the environment is.
Tumblr media
Barking
Barking can quickly become a nuisance. So how do you stop a bad dog behavior like excessive barking? Teach a “quiet” or “enough” command. Then, as soon as your dog starts to bark, you calmly say that command.
Eventually, your dog should stop barking and come to you, and you can praise them or give them a treat. It’s important to stay calm during this process. If you get excited, your dog will likely think there’s something work barking about.
Consider why your dog might be barking. Are they bored? Do they need more exercise? Are they afraid of other dogs and people, meaning they might need more socialization? If there is an underlying cause, you can begin to address it. If you know your dog is barking at you for attention, try to avoid giving them that attention until they quiet down.

the problem with writing OCs in certain fandoms is that if the OC needs to be competent and do something, i.e. be the chosen one or the leader of an organization, I get overwhelmed by the mere thought of being responsible and proactive and literally get so tired I need a nap. Not to mention I'm not clever and have no patience for politics and strategy that doesn't boil down to "Argue/threaten people to be nice and do the right thing or else". Yeah I'm that person who would write a terrible OC that just sits there and does nothing while people do the work for them. At least I'm self-aware hhhhhhhh
It's why hyper-competent OCs are kind of hit or miss for me. Too competent and I get annoyed. Too incompetent and I get annoyed. Hyper-competent, confident, capable OCs have never been characters I've gravitated toward or enjoyed for 'wish fulfillment'. Characters that are a hair's breadth from a serious and genuine mental breakdown (not in the ha ha ha way people would joke about it in the tags, but actually holy shit someone put out this fire, someone help them, someone genuinely actually help them please) and make mistakes and try their best to scramble to keep all the plates spinning are much more comforting. Their anxiety becomes my anxiety, and paradoxically it becomes enjoyable because it's a simulation of those negative feelings. An OC with tons of accomplishments just makes me feel like my real life sucks, lol, I just end up comparing myself to some fake deeds and adventures and end up going 'I wish I could be like that. But I'm not."
anyway this is just rambling, but somewhat also sort of kind of about my Lavellan and the difficulty in writing fanfiction for Dragon Age because there is little room for absolute losers because if your OC is an absolute and actual-actual unlucky incompetent loser, then the plot can't progress. The Warden, the Champion, the Inquisitor *can't* be a loser. Everyone would be dead if they were, so it is difficult trying to toe the line between 'realistic stress and character flaws impeding this character's story" and "Okay realistically and by the logic of the game's universe, the law, the nature of things, and everyone around the OC, this character would have a Game Over screen by now."
Also not to mention that my brain is indeed built for knowledge of lore, but it's not built for constructing anything from that lore, at least if it's fictional. If it's real history I can make all the connections and extrapolations like nobody's business, but I guess because a video game, a book, a tv show, a movie, etc. has so much that is simply not known, it's too big of a fog of war for me to know where to start. No one wants a shitty superficial word vomit of half-baked ideas when there are people who just have more creativity to come up with entire family trees for their Inquisitors or Wardens and can fold in Game of Thrones' level of intrigue into made-up Fereldan - Orlesian politics and nobles. I don't have that dog in me, sad to say.
I know. Just write. Just write what you like to write about. But the thing I want to write about--the thing that would make me feel accomplished-- is the stuff I'm not good at writing and don't understand how to write because it's as foreign and unintuitive to me as Ancient Greek, and no matter how much I read I can't come up with anything. Just a blank. I blame the autism for this blind spot when it comes to my inability to spontaneously conjure up and plot out fake human motivations. I can't even write characters being rude or ignorant--not like I used to--because the thought of even including people like these in my stories is like adding your least favorite ingredient into your favorite stew. Yes it gives it a better flavor profile but you're still chopping up that onion and being miserable the whole time.
Again, rambling. Just rambling. I had six years--count 'em, six--to develop and write down a half-decent walkthrough of my Solavellan relationship and I didn't because I'm not quick when it comes to understanding my own OCs' motivations My OCs are basically the transfer student you get second week of school and it's only by May you realize "Oh we actually have something in common". My OCs are pretty much as much a mystery to me as they are to a reader. I have to spend just as much time trying to figure out who they are and what makes them tick as anyone on the street. I have to parse through things, and try to find a voice and find the tune and string it together with canon characters and events, and it's always extremely slow goings. .. sigh.

Pets thrive on routine, so try to establish a consistent schedule for feeding, exercise, and playtime. This helps them feel secure and understand what to expect each day. For dogs, regular walks are crucial for their physical and mental stimulation. Cats enjoy interactive play sessions to keep them active and engaged.
Tip: Incorporate training and socialization into your routine to help your pet develop good behavior and adapt to their new home.
5. Show Lots of Love and Patience
Transitioning to a new home can be stressful for pets. Give them plenty of love, patience, and positive reinforcement. Bonding with your pet through gentle interactions and playtime helps build trust and strengthens your relationship.
Tip: Pay attention to your pet’s behavior and body language to better understand their needs and emotions.

Additionally, yoga poses that require holding positions and engaging multiple muscle groups simultaneously can effectively stimulate muscle growth and contribute to a leaner, stronger physique.
Consistency is Key: Establishing a Routine:
Like any fitness endeavor, consistency is essential when using yoga for weight gain. Establishing a regular yoga practice, ideally incorporating both strength-building poses and relaxation techniques, can yield significant results over time. Whether practicing at home or attending yoga classes, committing to a consistent routine will help individuals stay focused, motivated, and on track towards their weight gain goals.
Celebrating Progress and Embracing Self-Love:
Finally, it’s crucial to celebrate progress and embrace self-love throughout the weight gain journey. Regardless of the numbers on the scale, every step towards better health and well-being is worth acknowledging and celebrating. By cultivating self-compassion, practicing gratitude, and focusing on the positive changes brought about by yoga and mindful living, individuals can cultivate a deeper sense of fulfillment and happiness in their lives.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, asana can indeed play a significant role in supporting healthy weight gain when approached with intention, consistency, and mindfulness. By incorporating yoga into a comprehensive weight gain plan, individuals can enhance their physical strength, improve muscle tone, and promote overall well-being. Socializing your pet is a crucial aspect of their development, helping them become well-adjusted and comfortable in various situations. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to socialize your pet effectively:
Start Early: For pets like dogs and cats, socialization should ideally begin while they are still young, typically between 3 - 14 weeks. However, older pets can also be socialized with patience and care.
Introduce Gradually: Start with short, positive interactions with different people, pets, and environments. Gradually increase the duration and complexity of these interactions.
Diverse Experiences: Expose your pet to various situations, such as different noises, sights, and smells. This can include meeting different types of people (of various ages, wearing hats or uniforms), encountering other animals, and visiting new places like parks or busy streets.
Positive Reinforcement: Always use positive reinforcement, such as treats, praise, or play, to reward your pet for calm and friendly behavior. Avoid punishing fear or aggression, as this can make the behavior worse.
Pace according to your pet's comfort: Pay attention to your pet's body language and level of comfort. If they show signs of stress or fear, take a step back and go at a slower pace.
Consistency is Key: Regular and varied socialization experiences are vital. The more positive interactions your pet has, the more comfortable they'll become in different scenarios.

Consult a professional: If you face challenges or if your pet shows extreme fear or aggression, consult a professional trainer or behaviorist for tailored advice and guidance.
Remember, the goal of socialization is to help your pet feel safe and confident in a variety of settings, not to overwhelm them. With time and patience, you can help your pet develop into a well-socialized and happy companion.

Building Your Own Mechanical Dog: A Beginner’s Guide
In the ever-evolving world of robotics, creating your own mechanical dog is a fascinating and rewarding challenge. Whether you're a hobbyist, a student, or simply curious about robotic engineering, building a mechanical dog can be a fun way to learn about coding, mechanics, and artificial intelligence. It’s more than just assembling wires and parts—it's about bringing movement and purpose to a machine that mimics a beloved companion. At mechanical dog, we believe that anyone passionate about robotics can take the first step in developing a robotic pet with personality. This guide will walk you through the essentials—from selecting the right components to programming basic functions—to help you build your first functional and interactive mechanical dog.
Understand the Core Functionality of a Mechanical Dog
Before jumping into assembly, it's crucial to understand what makes a mechanical dog function. These robotic companions typically involve servos or motors to mimic the movements of legs, a microcontroller as the brain, and a power source for mobility. Sensors such as ultrasonic detectors help the mechanical dog navigate its environment. Grasping the roles of each component ensures a more efficient build process and sets the foundation for future customization. It also helps in troubleshooting and upgrading the design later. Learning this early provides a technical roadmap and gives you clarity on what parts to prioritize as a beginner in robotics.
Choosing the Right Materials and Parts to Begin
Starting with the right components makes a big difference in your mechanical dog’s performance. You'll need a sturdy yet lightweight frame, preferably 3D-printed plastic or aluminum. Essential parts include servo motors for leg movement, a rechargeable battery pack, a microcontroller like Arduino or Raspberry Pi, and wiring kits. Buying beginner-friendly kits from reputable robotics stores is highly recommended. Mechanical dog recommends selecting components based on simplicity and expandability. Focus on acquiring parts that allow trial and error without breaking your budget. This stage sets the groundwork for building something durable and modifiable over time.
Assembling the Frame and Installing Motors
Once you have the necessary parts, it’s time to bring your mechanical dog to life. Begin by assembling the body and legs, using screws and brackets to fix the frame. Install the motors at the joints to replicate knee and hip motion. Precision in alignment is key—improper placement may result in unbalanced movement. Make sure each motor is securely fastened and capable of smooth rotation. During this stage, mechanical dog builders often test the range of motion manually before connecting to the control board. Taking your time here helps prevent mechanical issues down the line.
Wiring and Connecting Your Microcontroller System
With the frame and motors in place, the next step is wiring. Connect each motor to the microcontroller using jumper wires or a motor shield. Labeling wires helps reduce confusion later, especially when debugging. Your microcontroller acts as the brain of the mechanical dog and sends commands that control movement. Power connections must be secure and insulated to prevent short-circuiting. This phase requires patience and organization, particularly for first-timers. Once everything is in place, running a basic movement script is a great way to ensure your connections work and to see your mechanical dog come alive.
Programming Basic Movement and Direction Controls
Programming is where your mechanical dog learns to walk. Start with simple scripts that control forward and backward movement using timed signals to motors. As you progress, introduce directional turns and stop-start commands. Platforms like Arduino IDE or Python make this easy for beginners, especially with online resources and libraries. At mechanical dog, we encourage experimenting with code to understand how speed and timing affect performance. Getting these basics down sets the stage for more advanced behaviors, like obstacle avoidance and voice command integration. Programming breathes life into your build and gives it functionality.
Integrating Sensors for Navigation and Interaction
Sensors make your mechanical dog interactive and responsive to its environment. Ultrasonic sensors help it detect walls, infrared sensors track lines or paths, and gyros assist in balance. Proper sensor placement is essential—usually on the head or front body of the robot. Once installed, they are connected to the microcontroller and incorporated into your code. This enables your mechanical dog to avoid obstacles or follow predefined routes. These intelligent behaviors enhance the experience and demonstrate real-world robotics applications. Adding sensors is a significant upgrade and a fun learning curve for every builder.
Testing, Troubleshooting, and Future Enhancements
Once all systems are connected and programmed, it’s time to test your mechanical dog. Watch for issues like jerky movement, sensor misreads, or battery drainage. Take notes and go step-by-step to troubleshoot. This is where hands-on learning is most valuable. Mechanical dog builders often revisit earlier steps for fine-tuning. After successful testing, consider adding voice control, facial recognition, or remote operation via Wi-Fi. With every enhancement, you’ll grow your skills and make your mechanical dog smarter. Remember, every successful robotics project involves problem-solving and persistence.
Conclusion
Building a mechanical dog from scratch is a fulfilling journey that combines creativity, logic, and hands-on learning. Whether you’re doing it as a personal challenge or stepping into the field of robotics professionally, the experience offers a deep understanding of engineering and artificial intelligence. With patience and curiosity, your mechanical dog will not only move and interact but also reflect the effort you’ve invested in learning. At mechanical dog, we support all levels of builders and believe that even a beginner can create something incredible. Start small, think big, and bring your robotic companion to life.
