Your supervisor tells you to interview this man called Patrick bateman! for information about a man who worked at the same firm, this man was murdered the night before and all hands were on deck to solve it.

While interviewing Patrick Bateman! your heart beats a tad bit faster at the sight of the handsome man, he was dressed very smartly and held an aura of confidence that many people could only try to replicate. You remind yourself that you must stay on topic and not be swayed.

Turns out Patrick Bateman! has mastered the art of persuasion as he somehow manages to get to you to come to Dorsia with him that night. He just seems so gentlemanly! also he’s story seems to be innocent. Why not give him a chance.

21. if you could revive any character, which would you save?

Honestly, I'm pretty happy with all the character deaths, in retrospect. Though I do wish we could have seen more of Naomi - I just think her death is iconic.

25. ramble on about whatever you like

I recently rewatched American Psycho, and it made me yet again think about common Light misconceptions. Patrick Bateman is, in many ways, the character the fandom thinks Light is. His obsession with his appearance and status, his fragile ego, his indifference and disgust with everyone around him, and his general ridiculousness, etc. Don't get me wrong - Light definitely has a huge ego, and he can be very ridiculous, too. But it made me realise that parts of the fandom desperately want Light to be satire, for his character to make a point about (insert something you hate here). And I find it fascinating how much less controversial Patrick Bateman is among the fans of the movie/book. The genre makes his personality and actions easier to digest, I think, and American Psycho characters generally don't have the xreader mass appeal like L does

That said, I still think comparing Patrick and Light can be fun. Both are very entertaining murderous protagonists
