i recently replayed penpals and aaghhh it makes me so sad that its an abandoned project... like no shame no hate on the creator, thats not how i feel nor is that what im trying to say, i just wish there was... more. the vibes were immaculate and i wouldve loved to see the horror themes expanded on, almost like it were a pastel-grunge space funeral.
the hidden chase scene in the apartment building comes to mind. as well as the ending, i wish that was explained/elaborated on. idk. i guess im just going to dream about it for the rest of my life

What got you into game development and the RPG Maker MV engine? Was it hard to do literally everything yourself, and find the right coding resources to get things as you wanted them to be?
And, would you recommend that engine to others?
The game Pen Palz (which was made in RPG Maker 2003) got me into RPG Maker.
It was mostly just time consuming doing everything myself. I found drawing sprites to be hardest because I'm not an artist and don't find much pleasure in drawing (pixel art especially).
I'd highly recommend RPG Maker MV. I've heard MZ is newer and better. SWOLLEN TO BURSTING would probably run better if I'd made it in MZ. MV was cheaper to buy though lol.
RPG Maker is really easy to use and the community plugins you can download for newer versions allow you to do really cool stuff.

Remembering Pen Palz exists after 3 years is quite the experience. Especially since it’s a pretty obscure indie RPG Maker game.
