I have had one or two of this pens floating around the Desk and frequently reach for them for my daily journal and planning needs but really wanted to have more than just a couple colors so I ordered the 2020 New Color 12-color set ($23) from…

In the spirit of Inktober - and a new Daniel Smith dot card, and a couple of new brush liners - I thought I should play around with some sketches.

Here is me and little Matty. Fancy man had never liked outings. He was every bit a homebody and was really shy around strangers.

Then there was this cuddle bug.

Dilly was an absolute menace and he felt the need for 24/7 skin-on-skin contact. Little dude probably knew I was touch-starved.

I enjoyed the brush liners so much.

The smooth texture of this new sketchbook was new to me. I usually used cold pressed - this is nicer for detailing and kinder to the pens too.

Drawing the rats was fun. It reminded me of how they were when alive. I miss them.

for some reason i didnt do a proper cover page for 2022 but heres the quote page. i did the clouds in tombow dual brush pens and the highlights were done in clear sakura gelly roll stardust pens

january 2022 i did aliens bc aliens is cute. i did this setup with various knockoff tombow dual brush pens an artists loft fineliner and a bunch of assorted gelly rolls

february was a rlly fun setup. i was kind of in my feelings so i did doves and burning olive branches. no further commentary. i dont remember which pens i used

my aquarium no longer looks like this so im glad i decided to immortalize it in my bullet journal! it was just a fun and silly theme. i love fun and silly themes

gwins bday is in april and his fave animals EVER are penguins. i dont remember which black marker i used for this setup. it might have been the tombow fudenosuke but dont quote me

i think the soap bubbles theme was my favorite theme this year. this was done entirely in tombow dual brush pens. i messed around with scrapbook paper for the first time and it really added a lot to the setup

no quote page for june bc i barely used my bujo in june. this setup is entirely done in copic multiliner and fluorescent mildliners

i wanted to mess around with low effort setups in july since i barely used my june setup so i did blood. you could adapt this to be goo or whatever if you didnt use red but this was all done in crayola supertips

and then i did a super high effort spread for august. this is in my second place spot for favorite theme. the washi and stickers were a lot of fun

low effort theme. again. i used only kuretake brushables for these

and then i put entirely too much effort into october. the leaves were colored with sakura koi watercolor brush pens the wood was a kuretake fudebiyori the grass was an ohuhu natural brush pen and the pumpkins and flapjack were done in tombow dual brush pens

i was lazy again in november. jam jars. they were super duper adorable but also insanely low effort. i dont even remember which pens i used for all of these. i think the strawberry jam was an ohuhu natural brush pen orange was a staedtler dual ended art marker lemon was a crayola supertip raspberry was a kuretake fudebiyori and grape was i think a kuretake real brush pen. the lettering was done in a pentel fude touch sign pen

and then december was simple and graceful. i loved how the lettering came out. the pinks were done in kuretake real brush pens and the blacks were done in an off black crayola supertip. so yeah. thats my bullet journal for the year. damn.

What do you use to draw?

I mostly use clip studio paint and sometimes procreate on ipad.

Before that i used to draw on computer on photoshop, medibang, sketchbook and gimp and on ipad procreate, medibang, sketchbook and ibispaint.

Most of these programs are free except for photoshop, clip studio and procreate. Unless you know you crack them or something.

And for traditional art i love these for sketching and doodling:

Yoruichi steadily marched through the hallways of the headquarters of the 6th Division, heading directly for Byakuya’s office. Her advance was simply too abrupt and her reiatsu too dialed down for her to catch the attention of any sort of security. No one came out to meet her or tried to stop her. It was only once she was at his door and sliding it open, unannounced, that she let her reiatsu spill outward at its normal background level.

She found Byakuya himself seated at his desk, in the middle of doing paperwork with a calligraphy brush as usual. When he looked up at her coolly as though there was nothing unusual about her presence, a smirk played across her face.

Stationeries

If you have seen my previous post, you might have noticed that I have a lot of stationeries (which I do). 

Before I started to even invest my time on bullet journaling, I was interested in calligraphy and writing notes for my studies. For my high school days, I prefer to write my notes in order to fully understand and memorise what I was learning. Colour coordinating and arranging my notes by colours was one of the things I did when I was younger. As it helps me to acknowledge which colour identifies a certain subject or topic. Therefore, it was not surprising for me to have a lot of stationeries to begin with. 

Over the years, my collection of stationeries have grown and the only picture taken of the collection was only in my early days of bullet journaling. Even then my collection already has been a great quantity. For instance, my green stash of stationeries at that time. 

Before I start to list down my stationeries that I use for my everyday use and bullet journaling. In order to start planning and bullet journaling you don't have to have a fancy collection. You can start with just anything and just go with the flow!

In my case, I actually just started with my usual pens, highlighters and a Daiso notebook. The quality and quantity does not matter when you just started it matters when you already know your preference of style in terms of bullet journaling. For instance, the quality of the paper does not suit your handwriting or the paper is too thin that it bleeds through or even the pen tip preference, etc.

may 2020 bujo setup (w/ quarantine journal)

this month i wanted to try somthing different with my bujo spread, i usually use one colour but for this month, i decided to go with two colours, pink and purple. over the month, ive gotten more comfortable with online schooling but i dont like it as much as actual school. i cant focus properly cause im just sitting in my room all day, or just at my desk. the other journal you see is a journal i started for english (or humanities). i had other choices to choose from to do my journal, but i wanted to make it a handwritten journal that i could customize and decorate myself. ive been going outside more and journaling outside more too, just because its calming but also is another place where i can do whatever makes me feel happy. :))
