Here is an interview i did with Andréa Frayssignes from @perceptionrecordings the Studio is based in Toulouse SM: What brought you into the business of recording/producing/mastering? PR: I think it's like most of the sound engineer that I know. I was in a band and we wanted to release our own songs but we haven't enough money to go in a recording studio so I decided to bury myself in all those process and in the end… I LOVED IT ! SM: What do you prefer classic and analog sounds or the modern style with lots of protools to twitch the raw material? PR: I was formed with both analogic/numeric and hardware/software but I used to mix all in the box with plugins. It makes my job easier as we arrive in an era where plugins emulate better and better hardware gear. SM: Which bands did you work with along the way? PR: I worked mainly with french bands like Born Criminal, Upon Us All, Vaginal Digestion, Highest Falls, Triumph Without Glory but I really want to change this and work with bands all aroud the world. SM: What is your favorite producer and why? PR: My favourite producers are Brian Hood, Joey Sturgis and Taylor Larson because I really like how they work with band and I learn a lot from them as they're always sharing with their community. SM: Which bands and their sound inspire you? PR: I really like bands like Bring Me The Horizon, Memphis May Fire, Wage War, Asking Alexandria, Architects and all the modern metal scene more generally. I follow those bands since my childhood and it's really interesting to see how their song and their sound has evolved over time. SW: Which record has , in your opinion, the best sound?
