Aww, thank you so much! I love hearing that people enjoy my work and that it makes them happy. And thank you for asking about my binding policy. Binding has been such a hot button issue in our community of late, and it's so sad that a few greedy folks are causing authors to take down their works and feel as if they have to leave fandom. I hate to see it, and fandom, go this way. For my own works, I do support the creation of personal binds, as long as no monetary gain comes from their creation. I worded it much better in my AO3 profile, where I keep a lot of my permissions:

"I give permission for my work to be typeset and/or bound only for personal, non-profit use. Do not reproduce my works in whole or part for monetary gain, including commissions, reproductions behind paywalls, charging for chances of winning reproductions or using reproductions in fundraising campaigns. Such practices endanger fandom and put authors at risk."

Little update about the artist Lucky_chandl (twitter / IG)

The kind user @tranquil-slaughterhouse let me a link to a tumblr blog under a fanart I shared from this artist. The tumblr clearly looked like the blog of this artist. I had no idea they made a blog tbh, the first time I contacted them a year ago, I asked them if they had a blog and if not, if I could share their works. So I was very surprised to see that blog xD

But to be 100% sure it wasn't an identity thief (bcs there are a lot on tumblr), I asked directly to the artist if it was really theirs and they confirmed it :)

Even though they didn't mind me sharing their works despite the fact they already had their blog, by principle, I'll stop sharing those but I'll definitely follow them and reblog A LOT of their works to keep supporting them <3 (but mostly bcs I love their arts lol)

So if you love their works, please give them a lot of love on their blog HERE <3333

If you're wondering about the state of fandom over in Twitter, somebody said that telling people who scream and cry about AO3's allowed content (aka "you can post gross stuff here") and harassment policies (aka "you can't harass other users") to make their own site is "gerrymandering"

So we're adding that to the list of words people online can't use until they learn the definition.

An OC related art piece I did for my friend was recently used without either of our permission. The situation has since been resolved, but I think my policy regarding my work needs to be reiterated here just in case.

I do not allow the usage or reuploading of any work I've made thus far, or any work I make in the future (unless stated otherwise). I do, however, allow fanart to be used as profile icons with clear credit to “Shimmeryspark” in your bio. This includes content such as Twisted Wonderland, Pokémon, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, etc. Anything pertaining to my OCs should not be used.

These guidelines do NOT apply to my commissions. Commissioned works are intended to be used solely by the commissioner, unless given explicit permission. In this case, this policy was violated, as well as claiming a property that wasn't originally theirs.

I'm very fortunate to not have this happen too often, and I'd like to encourage others to practice the same kindness and respect people have shown to me.  Public spaces obviously aren't a place where everyone is suddenly entitled to each others' property, and there are zero reasons for this not to apply to the digital space. Let's practice common sense, respect and enjoy artists' work on their own terms 💖

I want to do so many things lately with friends but have had almost 0 social battery. I wish I could do things adjacent to other people, like... I wanna play a game while sitting next to someone while they play their own game, or read a book with my legs in someone's lap or vice versa!!

Parallel hobby-ing where we're both doing our own thing, but are around enough to idly comment on what we're doing without having to fully engage the entire time.

Would you hypothetically be okay with someone making a fan-animated series of your rewrite?

Hello! First of all, I'm flattered you'd want to anime my rewrite. I'm thrilled whenever someone decides to make fanart for this rewrite series, and normally I'm 100% open to seeing it.

However, I do have to warn you that if you make a fully animated series based on even the first book, you might run into some issues with Working Partners. A while back, they updated their policy on allowing people to make videos that were animated series of the first Warriors book series, saying that such adaptations couldn't continue.

And while an animated series of this rewrite might be all right, you should also be aware that there are still a lot of similar events and scenes from the original books in my rewrite series that could make Working Partners ask you to stop if you post a fully animated video of them.

So, before you go doing this and especially before you start posting anything, make sure to read the policy about this on the official Warriors website FAQ. As much as I'd love to see my rewrite animated, I also don't want to inadvertantly get anyone in trouble.

okay so i'll split this into two sections:

fanart and fanfic of my fic: incredibly welcome and if you do make them please tag me/send me an ask so i can reblog your stuff!

podfics and translations: please ask in advance, i'm usually open to this but it can vary from fic to fic, and i like to mandate that a copy of whatever ends up made is crossposted to ao3.

generally speaking, if what you're making is transformative in some way (i.e. fanart, fanfic, fancomic, etc. etc.) i am 100% on board. if what you're making is my work and my words in another form (podfics and translations) please ask me before you make it.

Hey all -- there’s been a lot of discussion in our fandom lately around some creative ways folks have been profiting off fanworks (NOT. OK. Read your fandom history!) and even though I am not a big enough fish to be part of these specific circumstances, I just wanted to speak up and throw my official policies out there preemptively. I’ve also updated my bio on AO3 to reflect these.  

Thank you to my dear readers and all the creatives who have taken inspiration from my works to make AMAZING THINGS for nothing but love and the desire to spread joy.

PERMISSIONS AND POLICIES

- I welcome all translations of my works. I just ask for a heads up that you are doing it, credit on the translated work and that you link back to the original version on AO3. I also love to see translations once they're in process/done, so please send me a link! I can be most easily reached via Tumblr DMs.

- I give permission for my work to be typeset and/or bound for non-profit use (and also love to see pictures of any bindings!). Do not reproduce my works in whole or part for commercial gain, including posting reproductions on paid membership platforms.

- If you feel like doing art of my work, GO OFF! I love it so much. Please send it my way and I'll put it up on tumblr and in my Discord server.

- Trans rights are human rights. Gender diversity is fucking beautiful. Queerness is sacred. If you don't understand that, please don't read my stuff or interact with me in any way. You won't like it or me anyway.

ok so. i was looking at pound/shelter cats yesterday and i just metioned to mum that i was and she said i can get any cat i want from the shelter , she said that it doesn't have to be a kitten like she originally wanted 😭 like i was only doing this to make myself sad but gosh, am i even ready to adopt a new cat?? i have no idea, i'm just so lonely without buster but part of me does genuinely feel i could give another cat an excellent life as a pampered king or queen

As usual, and to be the most transparent I can with my permissions, I come with some news concerning the artist MAII - @smaii_i on twitter (previously @cloudsdontcare )

I noticed that on their bio they added since a while that any reposts was forbidden from now on. I didn’t post anything from them since then but was waiting for a reply concerning the arts I had already on my blog.

I got my response today ; they allowed me to keep the previous arts without needing to remove them. And I won’t post any recent arts of course.
