something i just realized about the sages (ignoring how frustrating to use i find the sages abilities overall) when they get their enigma stone they are like wow look at how much stronger i am now!! when its really just a ... clone of them, without the parts that make them interesting- the personality, and they "give" it to you (it doesnt feel like its really yours tho bc, unlike botw, its not intergrated into your moveset- which could have been solved by just adding them to another ability wheel- so it doesnt even feel like they are really yours) but ok i can see why its stronger even if i find it boring to just duplicate the character isntead of actually making their ability be more-
but then at the very end, they join you in the battle and .. dont even make use of it? what where the engima stones even for then? i guess you could bend over backwards and say well its bc their powers cant reach you all the way down there so they have to physical join you- BUT .. when they are right next to you .. shouldnt the connection to them be back anyway? so their clones should return shouldnt they? or is the entire arena just so surpressive of that power that it wouldnt work either way? then again ... what was its use then to get them to have those stones? like how ultra hand is supposedly the focus of the game but doesnt matter to the narrative at all?
(can you unsummon them when they are there?? i havent tried it but i dont think so ..)
like obviously it would be wayy too chaotic if all sages where there twice, especially together with all the ganondorf clones too- but it kinda .. once again... makes it feel meaningless that you even got them the stones? sure they only get to you when you do it but its really just again another check box with no substance, isnt it?
(... actually .. did anyone actually need the stones? aside from ganondorf getting that huge powerup somehow- like even the original sages and sonia and stuff, are you telling me she couldnt rewind ..................................... a tea cup, on her own? or i guess the only time sonia does anythign with her stone is when she gives its power to raurus laserbeam attack he never does again ... and the other sages arent shown to gain anything from it either?? are they?? what even would minerus ability have been bc she wasnt a -utterly useless- mech back then ... the shield she does doesnt seem unique to her either bc rauru literally does it too after sonia gets falcon-punched to death to block ganondorfs .. goo beam .... i mean i guess it doesnt matter anyway bc all we see them actually do is .. stand around and talk, sometimes "hurt" (dirty) sometimes not ... so whatever i guess?)

Looking back to Ewan and Jemma, you find them both tense and glaring up at the enemy. Ewan has given up the partial transformation, fur sprouting along his whole morphing body as his snout elongates and a growl bubbles in his throat. Jemma’s battle-readiness is less obvious, but you feel a crackle in the air and swear her eyes glow, but it could be a trick of her light orb. At your movement, their attention bounces to you. Ewan nods encouragingly, though Jemma’s eyes quickly dart back up to Lachlan and the other vampires.
Briefly, regret thrums at how you’ve pulled the two of them into this fight, but you turn back to Tabaeus. You all knew the potential risks.
Softly, you step closer to Tabaeus and finally take in their state.
Nude and sprawled on pillows, manacles on their wrists and ankles, Tabaeus stares listlessly at the ceiling, seemingly unseeing even the other vampires crowded on the overhead walkway. As you come closer, their eyes swing slowly toward you. A lump catches in your throat at the sight of their red-rimmed eyes, the fresh bites on their body. Something about their flesh seems more sickly.
“Oh, is it feeding time?” Their words are so hollow and distant, it takes your mind a moment to realize Tabaeus is the one who said them. They push themselves upright, languidly standing in a smooth movement.
As they near you, you recall how their height once terrified you. They loomed over you that first meeting just as they loom over you now, but your heart twists as you blink back tears. You never thought you’d see them again. Relief and dismay clamber through your head as you see Tabaeus whole but harmed.
Tabaeus reaches out a hand and you unthinkingly mirror them. Just as your hand is about to graze their shoulder, theirs grabs you roughly by the hair. Pain arcs over your scalp as they yank your head forcefully to the side, baring your throat to them.
“That is not a meal,” Lachlan drawls, though dark amusement twitches at the corner of his lips.
“Is it not?” Tabaeus pauses, their red eyes flickering up and behind you to where the other vampire stands.
“No, this bloodbag seems to think you know them.” That amusement has turned to cruel glee and you hear a barely contained laugh catch in Lachlan’s throat. A wave of titters arise from the other vampires, like a colony of squeaking bats.
“No, I do not know any bloodbags.” Tabaeus blinks before regarding you with an empty laziness, still holding your head at an angle. You’re not even sure they’re trying to remember.
Too many words and feelings gum up your throat. As you struggle to swallow, only three words break through your lips, “Tabaeus, please remember.”

cannot believe I am watching people spit the same rhetoric about Henry that his mother and brenner did. Is Henry a POS now? Absolutely. He’s done horrible things and him being abused doesn’t excuse those things. But acting like he was inherently evil as a child?? What on earth?? No he wasn’t?? You’re aligning with the exact same mentality as his abusers?? Like literally the exact same mentality as Virginia and brenner, the mentality that Henry is inherently evil and broken?? Like I am NOT talking about people saying they hate Henry, I’m talking about people saying verbatim that he was flat out inherently evil and broken and that Virginia and the doctors were right. Did we watch the same show??
Like not to stir the pot by having an opinion and “invalidating” other peoples’ opinion but if you think that Henry was inherently evil from the start, you are flat out wrong based on the text of the show and you are completely missing the point of the narrative and missing the point of the show and ignoring the ways in which abused people can still repeat the cycle of abuse but that doesn’t make them inherently evil like the whole POINT of Henry is that he isn’t inherently evil but rather started out like a normal (save for his powers) child and was abused and ended up repeating that cycle of abuse, it’s about how ordinary people can end up doing horrible things and becoming a monster as the result. The whole POINT of Henry is that he wasn’t inherently evil and wasn’t broken.
Like. Get a grip please. It’s one thing to have a different opinion or to have missed the text of the show & not have realized that Henry wasn’t always evil- it’s another to not only flat out willfully ignore the text of the show but to ignore it AND spread the same rhetoric that abusers use to justify abuse in the show??? Sorry but that’s not just a “ equally valid different opinion” because it’s flat out textually wrong AND spreading harmful rhetoric. Like holy shit I’m genuinely baffled at some of these takes because did ppl not even stop and think for a single second, “hey, I’m spewing the exact same words and rhetoric VERBATIM that the abusers like brenner in the show use to justify their child abuse”?
If you think that Henry has always been inherently evil and broken for the entirety of his life, then you are textually, factually wrong and are misunderstanding not only the narrative but the surface level, text of the show scenes.
Again, this is not about people who missed it/didn’t realize that he wasn’t always evil/misunderstood the scenes or the narrative, I miss and misunderstand stuff all the time- this is about people willfully ignoring those scenes and choosing to actively push the idea that he was always inherently evil & doing so in a way that reinforces harmful and untrue rhetoric about abuse victims.
