Scared into acting again, here are some shadow/persona designs I made for Persona Crossroads:

I saw a news article thing for P6 show up on my phone's newsfeed and got scared into acting once more, here are some more persona and shadow designs I made for Crossroads (which I sort of scrapped since I don't want it to be done in the P5 Tactica art style anymore XDD)

First up we got the myth, the legend, Bayonetta!

I actually got pretty far into making the art digital, but as much of a shame as it is, I just wanted an art style change XDD The final Bayonetta design will probably still look similar tho owo

I used Ernesto from P5T as inspo for the gun feet X33 I don't really have much else to talk about regarding her design since it mostly sticks to her canon outfit in Bayonetta 1.

Next, we got Karl Jacobs' TFTSMP character.

I really wanted to lean in on the whole In Between-Other Side-XD's World idea, tho I ended up not finishing the colouring since I got stuck on what to do with the hair lol XDD

The bottom coat part is inspired by a fanart I saw by Cute Studio (I believe their username was...) and the inside of the coat and the hands sprouting from the ends of Jacobs' scarf is a reference to all the versions of him that can be found in the In Between. The last notable note I can think to mention about his design is how his halo is meant to sort of... evoke the imagery of a clock? If that makes sense lol.

I wanted him to look super ominous since Jacobs' was supposed to be a boss.

Unexpectedly, up next we have the illusive, rumoured Istaroth from Genshin Impact!

It's a weird choice since we've never had a confirmed appearance for her, but back in my old notes for Crossroads, Istaroth was supposed to be one of the characters' personas, so yeah, I made her lol.

Her design was inspired by art of her drawn by gierosajie-art and littleblueberryartist! Originally I had her standing, but realised the pose of her sitting down with her hands in her lap to be more iconic.

And here we have Mari from OMORI! :DD

I think I mentioned it before, she was originally supposed to be part of a system of personas that's like... a bunch of personas in one personas because their user was a person with DID. Still not sure if I'm keeping the concept yet, but if not, then she'll just be a shadow roaming around.

Her hair was inspired by a fanart made by k0re_drawings on Twitter. I just loved how they drew her hair in a way that looked like snapped violin strings! If I redesign her tho, I think I might use a drawing by an artist called Hiko (I think) as inspiration. Mari doesn't really look like Something, but if you look at her from the back, the resemblance is there, I swear!

And next we have the Electro Archon herself, Raiden Ei! :DD

This was designed when she was still supposed to be Arilette's persona and I truly regret not making her skin look like shadows :\\

Her outfit is basically just her normal outfit without some of the asymmetricalness and some extra ornaments and armour inspired by the Raiden Shogun boss and a small handful of fanarts. I love how her bottom half has the vague silhouette of a butterfly :))

And last but not least, we got the Anemo Archon, Venti! :DD

So... I don't like his design ._. It's too much. I tried using various fanarts as inspiration to try and make his outfit a lil cooler, but it's just... so... much ._. (I do love the touch of Celestia in his corrupted form owo)

Even tho the name of the persona is Venti, I decided to make his look resemble Barbatos so I could pull a Third Ascension and make it look like his bard outfit while naming it Barbatos owo

Scott - “Prism” - The Star Arcana - Dionysus/Sigyn

Sarcastic yet intensely devoted and loyal, Scott is known for his business “Chromia”. He sells dyed goods along with one of a kind clothing, along with the actual dyes themselves. He’s relatively well known throughout town due to his social media presence, and helps the Phantom Thieves with a calling card utilizing social media. Pearl and Scott are notable for their distaste of each other, which differs from their closeness a few years back. According to him, Scott only really joined the Phantom Thieves for his own amusement rather than agreeing with their goals.

Dionysus is Scott’s persona. Dionysus is the god of wine, revelry, orchards, and madness. I mean, Scott did join the phantom thieves for his amusement, so his persona is one of festivities. Another aspect of Dionysus is his Orphic version known as “Zagreus”. If you played Hades, you probably have an idea of who he is. He is the son of Hades and Persephone, and is the god of rebirth. The “rebirth” aspect of Zagreus can refer to the amount of times Scott barely escaped death from SEVERAL people.

Anyways, Scott’s Ultimate Persona is Sigyn, the norse goddess of mercy and compassion, and wife of the trickster god Loki. When Loki was caught and punished after he killed Baldr, he was sentenced to be tied under a venomous snake and have it’s venom fall into his eyes, Sigyn shirked his punishment by placing a bowl or basin above him to catch the venom before it falls into his eyes. However, some venom does get in his eyes when Sigyn goes to empty the bowl and Loki’s pained squirming causes earthquakes.

Pearl - “Carmine” - The Moon Arcana - Little Red/Diana

Pearl is a journalist, who often pulls all-nighters and stake-outs to get her scoops. Although chill and laidback during the night, during the day is a ball of feral neuroticism from the lack of sleep. She often finds herself in odd situations to find her scoops, usually seeking out seedy parts or town to report on the criminal activities. This also led her to meet a strange man covered in sunflowers saying she resembles his god in his religion and some oddball bar performer claiming she pushed him out of some godly realm. She is also one of the Pupil’s victims with false memories implanted in her. In this case, she believes Grian is her younger brother. She owns a little dog named “Tilly”.

Her Persona is Little Red, as in Little Red Riding Hood. More specifically, the version she and the huntsman along with her grandmother feed the wolves rocks after the huntsman cuts them out.It then dies either by drowning in a well where the rocks weigh it down or where the weight is just too much for it to handle and it dies. I mainly chose this for the ✨aesthetics✨, with a red cloak and giant terrifying wolf. I suppose it could represent the two sides of Pearl; the chill and laidback Pearl during the night and the feral (albeit kind of sad) and sleep deprived Pearl during the day.

Anyways, her Ultimate Persona is Diana, the Roman goddess of nature, hunters, wildlife, and the moon. She’s often equated with Artemis, but also has an association with Hecate, god of witchcraft due to both of them having crossroads under their dominion. Pearl could theoretically have any of these goddesses, due to their themes aligning with Pearl during Double Life where she goes kind of stir crazy and lonely. Heck, Hecate is even accompanied by a procession of dogs.

Cleo - “Ghoul” - The High Priestess Arcana - Bloody Mary/Durga

A sculptor known for her ornate, detailed, and beautifully haunting sculptures. She was one of the first people that managed to befriend Etho, most likely due to her similarly intimidating aura. She is roommates with Joe Hills, a strange man who often speaks through a puppet on his hand. She had to become more intimidating due to people with less than favourable intentions often flock to prodigy artists. However, if you have her back, she’ll have yours and will always make sure she fulfills a promise or repays a favour.

Her persona in the metaverse is Bloody Mary. She’s most known for her urban legend, where you can summon her via going into a dark room (usually a bathroom) with only a candle and reciting her name three times. Although there are several different origins she may have had, this version is specifically Mary Worth. She was a woman who lived in the woods who was accused of witchcraft. She was burning on the stake when she cursed the village, resulting in the vengeful ghost we know today.

Durga is the Hindu goddess of protection, strength, motherhood, destruction, and wars. She has the ability to unleash divine wrath on those who oppress and is often depicted riding a lion or tiger wielding multiple weapons and fighting demons. Cleo is both someone able to intimidate those into avoiding her and protecting her allies, represented by the combination of the aspects Durga represents. Also the motherhood aspect is calling back to when she was part of the c(l)ockers as the “mom”.

Gem - “Satyr” - The Strength Arcana - Atalanta/Freyja

Gem, although she may not look or act like it, is a former mercenary. She is retired, but not after making herself known through her feats of strength and her near inhuman fighting abilities. As of today however, she spends her days working as a lyricist and LARPing with her friends, as well as regularly bugging Etho. She can crush apples with her bare hands and is both well liked and feared by the rest of the phantom thieves.

Her initial persona is Atalanta, a famed hunter from Greek mythology. She was raised by bears and is the slayer of the Calydoanian Boar after Artemis wasn’t honoured with a sacrifice. She was also possibly a member of the Argonauts, where she fought along side them at the battle of Clolchis. She was a rare example of a female Greek hero in the frat house of the rest of the Greek heroes.

Her Ultimate Persona is Freyja, the Norse god of love, beauty, fertility, war, and gold. She and Odin equally spilt the soldiers who died in war into two halls, one belonging to Freyja. She wears a necklace called “Brísingamen”, obtained through trickery but was broken when she got so wrathful, the hall shook. Thor utilized said necklace to disguise as her to steal back his hammer Mjolnir.

what does IYR/RTG mean?

it means "if you regret, reset the game" and is a lyric from the song Axe to Grind from Persona 5 Strikers! it's a reference to how the roleswap is essentially a 'reset' of the canon game.

Kawakami now works at Crossroads part-time rather than the maid service. there is no maid service in IYR/RTG.

Crossroads is also the place where Haru winds up spending most of her time due to the high number of confidants there and their lax rules about having birds in the bar

there's also a new waitress at Crossroads called Ren!

Shido is a complete nobody in the AU and is not relevant to the plot at all

the confidants that have been swapped out are either dead (sorry Sae) or they no longer need their confidant chain doing due to the lack of Shido in the AU

Ohya is now having a great time with her reporting partner and probably drinks a somewhat reasonable amount now maybe

Haru's dad is alive and well and still a complete asshole

Dragon! Sir Theodore Ramblings from the Discord

*Charlie Kelly voice* Can we talk about the Dragon! Sir Theodore AU I've been dying to talk about the Dragon! Sir Theodore AU all day-

Okay so in a discussion on the JATD Discord, me and @thelightfantastik talked about an AU where Sir Theodore was secretly a dragon in disguise, and I love it so, so much, so here's some/most of it.

Yeah this AU is by no means concrete (yet?), it's mostly just a bunch of ideas that were floating around.

In my head, there are two versions of the AU: the "He Forgets" version and the "He Remembers" version.

Okay I'll stop with the intro and actually get to the meat of the matter now lol

-By some magic (possibly from a wizard or the Castle Wizard), Sir Theodore, born a dragon, is turned into a human. While this could be for any number of reasons, the most plausible of which seemed to be that it was enacted as a punishment, possibly for killing a dragon (or multiple).

-This is where the AU reaches a crossroads. In one version, he remembers his life as a dragon. In another, he has total amnesia of his time spent as a dragon and/or false memories in its place.

The "He Remembers" version.

-He remembers that he was once a dragon, but keeps it a secret from everyone. At first, he had no problem with this-why would he just walk around announcing willy-nilly that he's a cursed dragon? But when the titular Dragon of the series enters the picture, things start to get more complicated. Does he tell Dragon the truth and tell him he's not alone? Or does he keep hiding it, too afraid to upset the peace or to properly reckon with the weight of his punishment for murder? If we're going closer to the series canon, where he initially came to Kippernia to apologize to Dragon for being descended from dragonslayers, maybe he went to Kippernia explicitly ready to come clean and confess everything, but something delayed him from doing so. (Note: I'd also tossed around the idea of the dragons that he killed being Dragon's direct family, so...yeah, that definitely would add another layer to it.)

The "He Forgets" version.

-For whatever reason-an extension of the punishment, or a way of keeping the location of dragons secret-Theodore's memories were stripped along with his form as a dragon. He would probably only be left with really hazy, dreamlike leftovers of memories, which he would use to craft a new life and persona for himself. Maybe if he was turned into a human as a punishment for murdering another dragon, then that's why he would believe he was descended from dragonslayers.

-But then *something* happens, either the spell weakening over time, or something else more sudden, and his memories start to come back. He starts to think he's losing his mind for good, but then realizes his old memories are the truth.

The Reveal

-At one point I pondered that Sir Theodore's suit of armor was actually his silvery scales, but then I came up with another idea (not that the scale idea is a bad one)

-What if his suit of armor (or at least a part of it, as Thelightfantastik suggested) was the enchanted object keeping him in human form?

-Now it's really easy to joke: "Wouldn't people be like: 'why do you sleep in your armor?'" Armor is so impractical! But that could add another layer to it. If he was imprisoned in human form for killing another dragon then he could decide that the armor was a symbol of him fully committing to the life of a dragonslayer. If it made it easier for him to become a knight (or be seen as one) then it would be his tether to the human world and his new duty to it. It would be a sign of how he could never dismantle his emotional armor and never let anyone get fully close to him due to his inhuman nature. If it was simply an arm cuff then he could see it as a shackle, chaining him to his crimes, maybe even one he never meant to commit.

-And then the armor gets damaged.

-Something causes a conflict. Dragon snaps and breathes fire on Theodore while someone (Jane watching, probably) screams. The flames die down and he's fine, but he manages to grunt out a warning. Everyone is confused. The heat from the flames causes the armor to crack, a fatal crack, and boom.

-His true form is released.

-Dragon and Jane, too stunned by the extent of his secrecy to react, fly away. He slumps in rejection, lamenting the loss of his human form. For years he wanted nothing more than to be free of it, but now that it's gone he grieves it. I can imagine him clawing at the remains of his armor like "No! No! Turn me back! Turn me back now!"

-Next episode: Okay everybody we don't know where he fled too after we left in shock and we need to find Sir-Theodore-turned-dragon NOW before some villagers go after him with torches and pitchforks or far worse The hunt for him leads them to some important secret location for dragon society.

-So yeah that's the AU so far I guess

SO HERE'S HOW EVERYONE MET AKIRA IN THE PHANTOM QUEERS AU

In chronological order

Futaba!

Futaba was already living with Sojiro when Akira got in trouble in his hometown. Sojiro was reluctant to take in a second kid while trying his best to parent Futaba, but they assure him he's doing great and they don't need all his time and attention

So Akira comes into their lives, and when he catches Futaba struggling to make ramen at 2 am, he gives them a hand and. Siblings for life

RYUJI

They met on the train first! They were standing beside each other, did the bro nod, went about their day. Then a day later they were both at the same beef bowl place. Another nod. Then the DVD rental. The restaurant. Fishing-

After a week they both decided destiny wanted them to be bros! Ryuji was crushing a bit at first too ngl

ANN

Ryuji introduced them! He invited Akira to Girls and Gays night (their night out drinking during uni) and that's when they all first found Crossroads! Akira was taken immediately and would return each night until Lala agreed to hire him, and it also cemented his friendship with Ann

Yusuke!!

He was wandering around looking for inspiration for a new portfolio piece between his first and second year, the theme being queer identities and young expressionism. So. He wandered into Crossroads and met Akira, or rather Aki-chan. Very early into drag too

After a night long conversation and a date set up for Akira to do a little modeling for Yusuke, he had him meet the others and it was history from there

GORO

There was a police investigation at Crossroads one fall. One of the regulars- an older business man -had been caught doing some insider trading and pretty much everyone associated with Crossroads had to be spoken to to see if they'd been spilled to

Akira was interviewed by the PI on retainer. In drag. They didn't get along at first, but once Akira dropped his Aki-chan act and was Stinky Crime Boy persona, well. Goro was quick to agree to meet up another time for a drink on the house

MAKOTO AND HARU!

So. This one is a little longer? And this is the. Angst part of the post but just a bit

Makoto was out with some of her classmates after a tough exam in their course when she runs into some old, acquaintances from middle school. From when she was just starting to transition. You can probably see where it's going

She ducks into Crossroads to get away, hands shaking as she texts Haru the address, with an apology for interrupting her later cooking class when Akira kindly guides her to a back table, getting her a glass of water

He's in drag, lays on the usual attitude but a little lightly, and Makoto mumbles out a "sorry I have a girlfriend" and he just "great. I have a boyfriend. Wanna gush about her to feel better?"

And when Haru bursts in looking for a shaken Makoto she finds her love half sloshed in a back booth with Akira, both half in tears as they share photos of their partners

They end up keeping in touch and even remaining friends!

And of course, Hifumi wanders into Crossroads trying to find herself. But that's been knew

MIRROR WORLD BASICS

Some useful information regarding the Mirror World itself for reference in regards to RP and other items.

How to Enter

Outside of general multiversal hopping, of course, since there are characters who don’t require the normal method. If Persona 4 uses TVs as portals, then the same can be said for mirrors in the AU. Of course, you’d have to have clearance in order for the ability to be used; not everyone has access for obvious reasons. You’d either have to be shown the way by someone who has done so in the past or for the whims of fate to have you stumble in. The latter makes it easier for RP threads where someone ends up in the Mirror World out of nowhere to happen. From that point on, you are able to go through mirrors to enter.

What is its purpose?

It’s a cognitive based world connected to the multiverse at large, acting as the embodiment of the concept of creativity. Any idea or concept is born here, no matter how large or small. Once formed, the idea or concept takes the form of a wisp that eventually travels across the highways within the Mirror World in order to find a use in whatever world desires it. Some of these wisps, however, can become more fleshed out before they enter and transform into a person, building, and other things small. Without the Mirror World, the concept of creativity would not longer exist. And since ideas are a part of creativity, it would become impossible to recreate the concept. The whole of the multiverse becomes stagnant, no longer able to progress... And slowly dying out.

The Hub

A large, circular tower within the center of the Mirror World, the Hub acts as the crossroads with the ground floor being similar to a open mall. The floors above are for travel purposes, similar to airport terminals in a way. Various shops adorn the hub including the ones used by the Mirror cast (weapons, armor, accessories, consumables). There is also a teleport station leading to something called the Practice Grid. If you know about training mode in fighting games, the Practice Grid is much similar... Except it also includes features that help train one’s movement skills. Platforming, agility, sneaking, the sort. Since it is the center of the world, the Hub is also the main focal point of power. If you take out the Hub, then the rest of the Mirror World becomes vulnerable to anything. Luckily the Hub and the Mirror World at large, thanks to its status as creativity central, can easily adapt to anything. While it may still struggle against the Static, it now has much more improved resistance thanks to the efforts of the Mirror cast.

Residents

Some fleshed out concepts, as mentioned above, can decide to be a Mirror World resident rather than traveling to a different world. Those who don’t have a home to go to (whether due to circumstances in their home world or their home world is destroyed) can also find new home in the Mirror World with ease.

Do only Persona-based mechanics work here?

Thanks to its connection to the Multiverse, more than just Persona abilities work here! If you have a power of any kind, you are able to use it. A BIG exception to this are powers that can erase an entire universe or multiverse in an instant and similarly destructive powers. Another big exception are abilities that can take full control of a world’s workings. Any ability that falls under these exceptions will be nulled completely for that person’s duration of their visit. This helps prevent the world from being destroyed or being manipulated for malevolent intents.

Why is the Mirror World immune to those powers but not the Static? The Static is a force born from the collective desire to give up. The biggest weakness that creativity has is giving up on something. You can’t produce more ideas if you end up giving up, right?

Persona designs I made for Persona Crossroads some time ago

While I was cooking for my Persona Crossroads story idea, I was also working on some persona designs for the persona users in the story!

These are just drafts however, and I can't say for sure if any of these guys will stay in the final story since I'm reworking their users, but since these guys have been doing nothing but sitting around in my computer, I might as well show them off X))

This one is my design of Ghostbur from the Dream SMP if he was a Persona. I will admit, this one is probably one of my favourites alongside his user, so he's probably staying on the keep list ^-^

According to my notes, he inherits Nuclear skills, reflects Psy, absorbs Curse, resists Nuclear and Wind, and is weak to Water (yes I added Water into this), Ice, Slash (and brought back the three types of physical lol), and Pierce.

I understand that that's not how starter personas work, but...

but yeah. Instead of making Ghostbur's attributes the typical persona way, I wanted to assign them in a way that reflects actual attributes of the character Ghostbur. Inherits Nuclear because boom boom, reflects Psy because of his selective amnesia, absorbs Curse because I don't remember (probably having something to do with Alivebur?), resists Nucleur because of persona laws and Wind because... also can't remember, and is weak to Water and Ice because they melt him, and Slash and Pierce because his (and Alivebur's) deaths were from being stabbed by swords and pierced by arrows!

The design was heavily inspired by catzgam3rz's Limbo designs!

I also made a Revivebur counterpart to Ghostbur :))

For... um... reasons.

According to my notes, he inherits Nuclear and Psy (Because boom boom and child manipulator), reflect Psy (don't remember why lol), absorbs Curse (dk why lol), resists Nuclear and Wind and is weak to Slash and Pierce, so... Ghostbur, but better.

Moving on to a non-Minecraft character, I also drew Aesop Carl from Identity V as a persona (specifically his Rorschach Physician character from the White Tombstone fan game). This particular persona was designed to be a navigation persona which ngl, felt kinda tough to make. I'll admit... he's visually not the favourite child XPP

Back to turning Minecraft characters into personas, here's Scott from Empires SMP season 1! This one... is probably tied as my least favourite alongside the next one XPP The idea of it was nice, but my execution was... not as nice.

According to my notes, Scott inherits Ice and Bless (because of canonical ice powers and being the champion of the good stag god), reflects Ice, absorbs Bless, and is weak to Fire, Curse, and Slash (because stabby stab)

And I also made his brother, Xornoth! Looking at him again, I think it's safe to say that Scott loses the visual competition XPP

Him and persona Scott were meant to be opposites in both design and attributes.

Xornoth inherits Fire and Curse, reflects Fire, absorbs Curse, and is weak to Ice, Bless, Slash, and also Psy (because mans spent 99% of season 1 possessed by an evil stag god)

And also here are some gross unfinished concept art for persona Bayonetta.

Originally I was going to go with the look she has for most of the first game, but I decided to leave that for a third awakening instead and use her old look for the first awakening, but even though I had a vision I was satisfied with, I just... couldn't make it work -_-

If I were still going with Bayonetta as the protag's persona, I probably would have used Ernesto from Tactica as reference XPP

Tho I did really like the idea of her coming out of a coffin... would make a wicked awakening!

According to my notes, her attributes were that she inherits curse and pierce (because witchcraft and gun), resists Curse, Bless (thanks to dear old dad), Pierce, and Wind (because these witches have never been taught the concept of gravity), and is weak to... Water and Earth? I do not know why I chose those weaknesses for her...

Lan & Mega are walking down a forest covered road, as it's a shortcut to the next town, when they find some sort of tent, when they approach the campsite, they see a strange oldman sitting at a table, playing with a deck of cards. When the two of them get close enough, they see that the tent in queation is blue in color, qnd seems to be made of velvet, the old man has a very long nose, and bugged out eyes.

???: Welcome, welcome. It's not often i have guests here. Why don't you sit dow, and enjoy some,,, curry.

Lan: Curry you say?

Mega gives Lan a weird look

Mega: (lan, you know better than that!)

Lan: but it's curry!

???: No need to be alarmed, my name is Igor

Igor: now then, why don't you get a bowl of curry, and read your fortune.

Lan: *excitedly does as Igor suggests*

Mega: *sniffing the curry to try to detect something funny, there is none*

Igor: hmm, The Lovers, normally a choice down a crossroaded path, often it's signifies the choice of Love, but it can mean other kinds of choices, and,,, death. Normally this one involves significant change in one's life, but people misinterpret it to mean death is imminent

Lan: huh?

Igor: simply put, these 2 cards together means you lost someone you care about. But there may be something i can do for you.

Lan & Mega: *look at each other, then back to Igor*

Igor (thinking): that Cofagrigus has a Human soul, usually they forget upon evolution. But, if there's enough human left in him, then maybe this spell will work.

Igor then gets out a bag of powder, and sprinkles it on Mega.

Lan: ??? What did tou do?

Igor: simply put, I cast a spell on your Cofagrigus. If he desires to be human again, he'll transform into his Human form, but should he desire to turn back into a pokemon, then he'll stay as or turn back into a pokemon. After all, the Human heart is very fickle.

Kinda strange we're making Igor from Persona into this wizard dude but alright. I know all this is crack AUs in the first place, but I'm not making this one connected to the other Pokemon AU posts. It's going to be an AU of an AU

Mega: Ack, it's in my eyes! Lan help!

Lan: Hang on... Geez, that's a lot more than I thought. And transformations? What are you talking about old man--HUH?! Where did he go?!

Mega: I don't know, I was getting that powder stuff out of my face

Lan: Weird, he just up and vanished... At least I got some of this curry

Mega: What did he mean by me transforming back into a human?

Lan: Not sure, but you heard what he said. If you desire it, it'll happen. Do you want to be human again?

Gosh I do not know about how I feel about Robot Haru.

Like on the one hand! More Haru Content! Especially during Okumura's boss fight where Morgana kinda takes over for some weird reason.

But on the other hand... there not being a Cognitive Haru was kind of... the point? Like Okumura's so obsessesd with his money that Haru doesn't even register in his mind. They point out how odd it is that Haru isn't there and what it could mean.

Granted, that point was undercut somewhat by not having a Cog!Makoto in Sae's palace because then Haru not registering isn't something unique to Okumura (the counter argument here being Sae probably has mo reason to see Makoto at her place of work, thus we can assume there's just a normal cognitive Makoto at their house chilling and doing homework but that's a whole other discussion).

Idk what I'm trying to say here, I'm just excited and disappointed.
