Feeling a little sentimental today and perhaps a touch melancholy so to solve that I am dedicating this post to my two favorite sisters, they have been with each other since birth, and have continued to grow side by side, with much love and guidance from their parents they are navigating almost early adulthood. It has been a great pleasure to watch them grow and grow along side them. They provide a great deal of encouragement for me, and remind me every day to strive for greatness in all aspects of life.

Discovering Young Royals

So now that I've lurked a bit around the Young Royals fandom I wanna try and be a bit more active ^^ It feels a bit weird to arrive so late because it seems like everything has probably already been said >< So I hope my little thoughts here and there won't just be redundant for fandom people! I've been thinking about it and I think I wanna write my thoughts, and questions and various comments about the show, probably going episode by episode! And I'll add some pretty pictures (I should learn how to make gifs :o)

For tonight though I'll just write up kind of my first thoughts and reactions while watching the show for the first time ^^

ᴥ I'm not proud of admitting it but I started watching the show because I was a bit bored, a bit sick and wanted to kind of "hate-watch" something >< I thought it would be a very elitist kind of show with insufferable royal people! Boy was I wrong...

ᴥ Wilhelm is a cutie pie and made me love the show so much, almost right from the start. His image of angry teenage prince got replaced so fast by just the reality of an anxious (soft) boy, in the span of an episode! His interaction with Simon at the end of episode 1 sealed the deal for me...

ᴥ The show is so so so well made!! It's beautiful and the music is absolutely phenomenal!! All the young actors are incredibly talented (and gosh is Edvin so very good ><) and it's just such a pleasure to watch :o

ᴥ I love love love how "real" it feels!! The actors look the good age for their characters, they look so fucking real, like I 100% believe that these characters are teenagers! I love the choice of not putting lots of make up on them and letting them keep their "real" skin. It's so freaking refreshing!! I don't really know of other shows who do that!! (Also I come from the Glee fandom so: the actors playing teenagers were definitely not looking like teenagers, they all had flawless skins and were ""perfect"" (aka in the beauty standards) looking so having skinny boys and girls with different and real-looking bodies feel so good! Maybe the difference also comes from the fact that Glee was a US show and YR is a Swedish one?)

ᴥ I feel very lucky that I was able to watch season 1 and season 2 back to back! It must have been so hard for you guys to wait for season 2 >< And I'm lucky again that season 3 will probably be there in not too long!

ᴥ August is such a well written character!! A truly interesting "villain" who makes me feel almost some sympathy at times o_o

ᴥ I have very mixed feelings and complicated thoughts about Sara...

ᴥ The chemistry between Edvin and Omar is insane.

ᴥ And Omar is the prettiest human being ever. I am now officially a fan. (He gives me SO.MUCH gender envy...........)

These were all kind of scattered thoughts going through my head while I binge-watched the show the first time!

(Also it made me want to learn Swedish so I've started doing that on Duolingo and I'm now obsessed with this language xD (But gosh, pronunciation is a nightmare...) So if any Swedish people wanna chat, I need training :p)

Gonna stop there for this freaking long-ass post and keep my rantings and chattiness for another post :D

One thing that really endeared me to young royals is the fact that it never seemed to be about physical appearances. Wilmon's relationship wasn't about how they found each other good-looking or anything.

It's so refreshing to see in contrast to other series or dramas (especially straight ones) how there always seem to be the case of how beautiful / handsome etc their love interest is. I'm not saying that's the whole foundation of their relationships but it's so blatant in a lot of romance. That slow-motion effect closing up on someone's face and how the other person will be affected by their beauty. Or how someone (who at first they consider only as a friend) end up having changed something in their appearance like putting on special clothes or getting a haircut etc and all of a sudden they'll be considered a love interest by the person. Not saying they're bad but I am so tired of it. It sometimes makes it feel like you can only find love if you're conventionally attractive. Or if you do something to make yourself look attractive.

But with Wilhelm and Simon, their physical appearance never even seem to matter (even though they're both gorgeous af). They just fell for each other without it being about how attractive the other is. And it feels...real.

And to me, that's the most beautiful thing.

LOOKING AT COLM FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A WHILE MAKES ME NOTICE THE SIMILARITIES IN THE WAY HIM AND DUTCH DRESS.

LIKE... VERY SIMILAR. FORMAL CLOTHING COMPARED TO OTHER GANG MEMBERS, A MOSTLY BLACK LOOK WITH RED/GREEN ACCENTS. (NOT TO MENTION THE PRACTICALLY SAME SHIRT.)

I THINK IT'S A SILLY PARALLEL BETWEEN THE TWO. THE GAME DOESN'T MAKE IT HARD TO POINT OUT THE SIMILARITIES WITH DUTCH AND COLM, WITH KIERAN'S TALK ABOUT HOW SIMILAR BOTH GANGS ARE AND THE CAMP INTERACTION WITH HIS TELLING ON HOW COLM ACTS AND THE ALMOST IDENTICAL WAY DUTCH ENDS UP ACTING IN CHAPTER 6.

(I LOVE LITTLE DETAILS LIKE THIS. I EAT THEM UP AND CHEW THEM IN MY MOUTH UNTIL THEY'RE ALL SOGGY WET AND SQUISHED LIKE A CHEWED UP PIECE OF PAPER.)

Im really really hoping the theory about Wille having a birthday in s3 are true because i want Simon to give him a gift SO BADLY. I want it to be something sweet and whimsical and soft bc Wille deserves whimsy in his life. Even if it is a gag gift that Wille actually ends up keeping. I really want the stuffed animal frog like i mentioned in my unhinged s3 list bc its the opposite of the snow globe with the hard (now jagged) edges. Like a soft stuffed frog (no crown) it would be so cute :(((((( But really Simon giving Wille any kind of sweet simple gift would be so cute to me.

Love you for asking me this question!!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰 I recently found some picts of Felipe that I adore with all my heart, because I love the man to death and he is my favorite father figure 😭😭 I am going to try to keep this to a minimum of five photos but we shall see what happens.

I came across this one recently and have loved it to death because Felipe was Leo’s age in this photo😭😭 and Leonor is so similar to him it makes my eyes cry happy tears. Every year since he was a kid king Felipe participates in the Copa del Rey race during the summer in Mallorca. It’s a very special tradition that the king follows. So it was wonderful to see him young in this picture and participating in the race.

It’s the eyebrows for me….🤣🤣 there really is no further explanation

I had never seen this portrait/message before. It was written by Felipe to the Copa Del Rey race I believe in the late 80’s to 90’s. But I love the pose and hope Leonor will do more portraits like this.

There is a running joke in my family, my mum always calls King Felipe “the smiley king” because out of most of the royals I see, Felipe always has a smiley happy face. So this is a picture dear to my heart.

Going to put these two together because there is nothing I adore more than a father who truly loves being a father. Felipe has been a great example of one and I honestly love his relationship with both his girls. And how different they both are. Leonor and her father will always have a deep bond because it a relationship of a father and a heir. It a mentorship almost. A I teach and you follow. Sofia’s relationship is also just as important. We saw that during her confirmation a couple months ago and we were able to see her with her papa.

I read somewhere that Felipe was a very hyper and inquisitive child, as someone who was also quite a hyper and inquisitive child I love seeing pictures like these of his childhood🤣 he looks very inquisitive and maybe just a tad wee too energetic for being in a classroom. 😂😂 Although I am biased and have been known to be the first hand raised In university.🤣

royal leaves akechi's fate unknown because you don't know whether the faceless person walking by the train window in his uniform is real or not because of joker in the reflection, and if it is, whether it's actually akechi - but the main reason i think he lives after royal, or even vanilla, is because he would hate it, and that's exactly why the world would save him

he wanted to make one choice for himself, and that choice was his death. he wanted to sacrifice himself for the thieves in the engine room so for that once in his miserable life, he could use that life to save someone instead of killing them. thematically it makes sense if he dies here and stays dead - and if the third semester true ending occurs, this is where he would die.

but with the way he's written, almost every choice he makes is not his own. it's either in the hands of a god or made for other people, either to manipulate them or save them. what he eats. how he dresses. who he spends his time with. even his supposed revenge was already a stacked deck in shido's favor. he's not even alive by his own choice in maruki's reality, and he has to work with the thieves out of necessity, not because he wants to.

so the way i've always interpreted the ending of royal is that yaldabaoth, before he hits the dust in december, keeps akechi alive as one big "fuck you", ripping that last chance out of his hands. forcing him to suffer again for the crimes he was guided to commit, in police custody for the foreseeable future and working for them against his will

because even though it would be a fitting end for him to make one last choice that actually matters, i think it would be a far greater cruelty to make him reap what he has sown. because he was never meant to be happy.

RWRB Movie: Themes

I think I found Alex's theme in the soundtrack

This track "Soft Side" is when Alex looks at Henry talking to Cladette in the hospital, but the guitar melody from 0:20 to the end of the track can be heard in "Pillow Talk" and "We Won" with a few variations at the end, and in "Tell Me to Leave", the same melody can be heard played by a piano, which is Henry's instrument

Haven't found Henry's theme yet, but "Runway Goodbyes" and "No Turning Back" share a piano melody (basically the entire track for Runway Goodbyes, 0:00-0:36 for No Turning Back, but the rest might be a variation)

I paid more attention and effort in finding their themes than I did for my piano aural exam lmao
