Peter and Paul always appear together, and this is appropriate, for both received a call by Jesus to be an apostle, but at different times and ways and for different purposes. Peter was the apostle to the Jews, primarily in Jerusalem, while Paul was an apostle to the Gentiles throughout Asia-minor. This we know thanks to Saint Luke. Yet, what is more important is that both responded to their call, although not perfectly, but they did so well enough, so that we have a chance to grow in our faith. This occurred because they both recognized the authority of Jesus to his Father and through the Holy Spirit, which Jesus also gives to us, for he is calling us as well. Therefore, let us look to Peter and Paul’s example and respond as they did for each received their heavenly reward.

Food for Thought. Shakir Mumtaz.
A fallacy believed by Christians and Muslims alike is that Jesus died on the cross in AD 30-33; Christians believe that Jesus had resurrected, but Muslims believe that he will return before the end of time. None of these
[Distortions in Christianity and Islam]
Hanifism, Sabianism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are developmental or evolutionary stages of monotheism. Before Islam, prophet Muhammad, Qura’an, all the religions, Prophets, and scriptures were provisional for a specific people. Qura’an testifies that these religions and their scriptures changed, and except for Holy Qura’an no scripture is extant in…
Simon Peter there on the shore, without a catch after a long night, fisherman whom the unknown caller makes a fisher of men: pray that our gifts may also have purpose and measure in Christ, that your zeal may burn in us and our hearts may recognise the Lord.
Simon Peter, often tormented by weakness, fear and failure, you, whose word and purpose are broken when the Lord chooses suffering: pray that we may feel remorse when we lose Jesus' way, that we may not trust our strength and look to Christ in the storm.

I saw Peter and Gordon’s debut 1964 album in a shop today and the first song on it is Lucille.
So I just listened to it on YouTube. I wonder whether Peter and /or Gordon was also a Little Richard fan or if it was Paul’s influence (although I think they might have actually been doing a cover of the version by The Everly Brothers?).
I also wonder what Paul thought of it. The production and instrumentation is good (better than The Beatles on Live At The BBC tbh, but then it is a studio version so it should be), but their voices are totally at odds with it.
It’s funny that it’s the first song on the album though, I wonder if that’s why The Beatles never recorded a version outside the BBC live ones.

Saying that, it’s better than when Cliff Richard did it on his tv show in 1961 and definitely better than whatever the hell he was trying later on in, inevitably, the 80s.
Most of the apostles and lots of saints have their own feast day, but how about the two most famous saints of the early church? There is February 22nd in which the Church celebrates the “Chair of Peter” the sign that Peter was the first among the apostles and the one designated to lead the early Church after Jesus’ Resurrection and Ascension. But there is no “Feast of St. Peter.”
St. Paul,…

I should start by pointing out that this blog post has nothing to do with the Britney Spears song by the same title, so if you landed here looking for insight into her lyrics (or anything else about the song), you might be lost. Having said that, though, maybe you didn’t end up here by accident after all, so feel free to stick around.
