“Okay, what the fuck?” Patrick asks aloud. He glances around for the source of the voice, and a wave of embarrassment crashes over him when he sees a mother scowling at him and covering her child’s ears. Patrick promptly turns away from her and tries to will invisibility on himself. He pulls out his earbuds and cues up his music, hoping to drown out the voice.

 It doesn’t work. 

Patrick Stump is hearing voices, and Pete Wentz can’t figure out how to finish his novel about a pretty IRS agent that’s doomed to die.

Welcome back for another Peterick creation challenge!

As the slogan might suggest, this time, we are doing something movie-themed - the premiere of a brand new challenge! Here are the rules:

1. As always, it has to be a Peterick oneshot! Whether you want smut, angst, fluff, or everything at once, it’s all up to you! 2. You pick a movie! Now, we want you to have all the freedom you need: Whether you want to retell the movie as a Peterick story, or want to take creative liberties, change the ending, or want to write your own story within the movie AU you choose - you decide! 3. To ensure we don’t end up with the same AUs multiple times, we will handle this challenge similar as the fairytale one - you choose a movie AU, and it will be added to this little Google doc here, so everyone can see what movie has been taken already. Don’t worry, if you notice halfway through that your fic isn’t working out, you can always go with a different movie! This is just to ensure we don’t have 5 Titanic AUs or half a dozen Romeo And Juliet AUs. Message the mod @das-verlorene-kind here on tumblr or write to us on the discord channel to let us know what movie you want to pick!

Posting dates will be from 15th of May to 17th of May, so, plenty of time to come up with and write and direct your own Peterick movie fic... ;)

Hey gang -

I hate to be the kind of author who ghosts their story for months and gives “life updates” that sound increasingly excuse-y but. uh. Here’s some excuse-y life updates.

So after a brief stint of intense obsession with IT and a temporary foray into peterick creation challenges, I was like, okay, cool, time to buckle down and get back to work, but was already hampered by grad school applications. Though slowed, I was not stopped, until, a little less than a month ago, I received a sudden and unexpected notice that I had to vacate my apartment. 

“But that’s weird/illegal/unfair!” yeah there’s some unspoken element of story but the gist is that, mid-semester, I had to up and pack and clean and find a new place and move and I now have a second job to support the new place which has a longer commute and life has just been one upside down smiley after the other.

So, we’re moved into the new place. Not unpacked, but officially living here. It’s a lot nicer, but it’s still crunch time in the semester, and I’ve got a lot of senior year projects I’m working on right now. I’d love to make this update saying that now things are settled and the new chapter is coming super soon, but life isn’t really going like that. Things aren’t yet settled, and the new chapter is not all that far along.

But I have an outline, and a lot of determination, and I promise that I’m still here, still working on it, and still always so grateful that all of you stick around and keep reading, even after all these delays and all these years. As a thank you and a reminder that we’re all still around, I’m hoping to put out at least a drabble in the next week or so, and hopefully I’ll get on track in the next few weeks. (admittedly, I’ve also had some amount of delay because I’m less enthused about the next chapter than I am about EVERY CHAPTER AFTER IT because your no 1 dumbass miscounted songs in fad but sldkfj) As always, asks, drabble suggestions, discord theorizing and whatever else is always more than welcome

challenge #2: merry little peterick

hi everyone!  to start this post off, i’d like to apologize once again to the winners of my previous challenge who have not yet gotten their fic prizes. i promise i am working very hard on getting those finished, but i wanted to start this new challenge before the holiday season passes us by.

the theme for this month’s challenge is an obvious choice on my part, but one that i think will be lots of fun regardless. i’m sure most of you are aware of the peterick creations challenge that takes place every month or so, and that i have been a gleeful participant in the last few collections. this month’s challenge is, obviously, christmas-themed!

for this month’s challenge, i have decided to cut the number of winners from three to just one. this will not be a permanent change. the winner of this challenge will be decided by a poll that will open after all entries have been submitted and will receive the following prize:

these rules are going to be a bit more specific than last time due to the nature of the prize.

to keep things even, only one entry will be allowed per person (maximum one board per entry)

the focus of your entry should be peterick. you may keep it platonic if you wish, but be aware that if you win, it will be used in a heavily romance-based fic!

please keep your boards christmas-related! this is not intended by any means to disrespect those who celebrate other winter holidays, but because of the themeing of my fic and this month’s creations challenge in general.

I Got What I Needed (It’s You)

‘Christmas had always been Patrick’s favorite holiday, ever since he was little. He loved the warm spirit and holiday cheer that always came along with it, even if his family never really understood that dolls and dresses weren’t his idea of the perfect gift. Boxes and bags labeled ‘To Patricia’ never sat with him right; at the time, he couldn’t quite put his finger on why.

Patrick is nineteen years old, alone on the streets after coming out as a trans man to his mother went horribly wrong. Not even his boyfriend had offered him shelter, disgusted by what his ‘girlfriend’ had become. When he’d tried to seek solace at a nearby hardcore show, he’d been caught and humiliated by security for sneaking in without a ticket, but ultimately allowed to stay. He was lucky the band’s bassist was so understanding.

Pete Wentz, said bassist, had more in common with Patrick than either of them realized until a long talk backstage saw them opening their hearts to each other. A relationship quickly blossomed between them, and now they’re spending their first holiday season with someone who loves them for who they are.’

this is so sweet, anon, thank you so much! there’s no pressure. i know it’s been a while, but that fic hasn’t been abandoned, i promise. it’s about halfway done (tho admittedly has been about halfway done for a month now). i’ve been working on a summer fic for the peterick creations challenge so my attention has been focused elsewhere, plus i just needed a bit of a break from it tbh. but i’ll definitely be coming back to that fic soon. probably after the summer challenge, which is in late july. so, i’ll say, tentatively, maybe an update in august? sorry, i know that’s a while. thank you so much for the nice message, i really appreciate it <3

Be my Peterick Valentine 2020

Hello everyone, friends and fellow writers, and welcome to the roaring 20s! It might be a new decade, but the challenge stays the same - Valentine’s Day is ahead, and with it, all the Peterick romance (or perhaps heartbreak?)!

So, if you’re new to the Peterick Creations Challenge, or just want a refresher, here are the rules:

1) You write a Valentine’s Day-themed Peterick fic! You can write angst or fluff or smut, romance or heartbreak, your favorite tropes from coffeeshops to “there was only one bed!” to anything else you can imagine!

2) Please do a one-shot (or, if you want it chaptered, please post the full fic in one go, for fairness). It doesn’t matter if it’s 1k or 10k, the length is up to you!

3) That’s it!

The posting date will be February 14th - so, still a month to sit down and write your story. If you need any help, inspiration, or have questions, please message @das-verlorene-kind​ or come to our Discord server!

Trick or Pete 2019!

Welcome, ghouls and goblins, to the third annual Trick or Pete edition of the @peterickcreationschallenge! It’s time to scare up a storm with all of your best Halloween-themed Peterick fics. 

Can we all take a moment to appreciate the utterly divine artwork by @the-chaotic-panda please? Holy crap!

In case you’re new to the group, the idea is that we collect together fics as part of a writing challenge and post to a collection on AO3. There is no minimum skill level. This can be your first fic, or your fiftieth, we really can’t stress enough that every single writer is welcome!

Interested? Well, the rules are really very simple:

1) Your fic must be in the spirit of the holiday. It can be grizzly horror or cute trick or treating or anything and everything in between, but it must be themed towards Halloween in some way. If you’re unsure, please give one of the mods a shout and we’d be happy to talk over your idea with you.

2) It must be Peterick. No gen fics. No other pairings (except as side pairings, of course). No OT3s or moresomes. Only Peterick. It’s kind of our thing. Don’t worry, though, if smut isn’t your thing, you’re under no pressure to write it and fics of all ratings will be lovingly accepted. (But if smut is your thing, then like... do not hold back!)

And... that’s it. No, really! No minimum word counts, no prompts, no training wheels! You get to do whatever you want!

If you’d like to take part, please let one of the mods know @sn1tchesandtalkers @das-verlorene-kind or @the-chaotic-panda just so we can add you to our Totally Official PCC Spreadsheet™ and keep track of who’s in. This is just so we know to give someone a nudge if they haven’t posted by the deadline which is, in case you’re wondering, Thursday 31st October! The collection will close at midnight IDLW. The mods will also be happy to talk over ideas with you, provide motivation AND, if you’re interested, provide links to the Peterick Creations Challenge discord.

Merry Little Peterick 2019!

With December almost here, it’s time to say Merry Christmas everyone! Good news, the Merry Little Peterick challenge is back for the third time! Last year, you guys pulled together and contributed over twenty amazing Peterick fics to celebrate the holidays and we’re so stoked to see what you’ll come up with this time.

So, if you’re new to the Peterick Creations Challenge, or just want a refresher, here are the rules:

1) You write a holiday-themed Peterick fic. Literally, the floor is yours. You can write angst or fluff or smut or futuristic dystopia (Yes! We got one of those for a previous Christmas challenge and yes! It was AMAZING). Any fic is welcome as long as it’s Peterick and holiday-themed. No word counts. No excluded tropes. Go nuts!

2) That’s it. 

The challenge will be open from December 20th - 26th so plenty of time to post over the holiday season. Everyone is welcome, if you’ve been posting from the first challenge or this would be your first time. We also have a discord, if you’d like to come along and chat over your ideas, post snippets or just hang out.
