“First presented in 2011, carriage trade's Social Photography exhibitions have become both a tradition and an ongoing survey of cell phone camera use. What began as a novelty medium seven or eight years ago now provides currency for the $100 billion picture mill of Instagram, which funnels 95 million images a day through its social media network via opaque algorithms that determine the order and context of what we see.

Unlike social media formats on our phones which encourage endless scrolling through a "bottomless bowl" of images, Social Photography cell phone pictures exist both online and in the gallery. Faced with a group of photographs in the exhibition space, any of which can draw one's attention or focus, accidental associations present themselves through proximity (their order is based on when images are emailed to the gallery) underscoring the alternative of seeing cell phone images in a physical setting free of social media filters.”

I've just found a forgotten WIP in my folders. It's only 400 words and I really can't remember where I was going with it but it's clear it's good old peter/scott trash. I have a feeling it's going to be easy to finish so that's my goal before class starts again.

This whole cult thing stressed me out and I rewatched the first spisode of Teen Wolf for for some reason and I had a weird dream that was a fucked up abo cult au? And scott was raised by agent McCall because he fought Melissa in court for custody and won because of his connections. So he procedded to be the worst dad ever and literally shattered poor Scott’s self esteem. Like it was terrible. Then Peter just rolls into town with his silver tongue and charm and very easily seduces Scott with promises of freedom and happiness. And of course he’s worst for Scott than anyone could’ve even imagined and it becomes this crazy abusive situation that further destroys Scott’s already non-existent self esteemI and the more the abuse escalates physically and mentally the worst Scott’s physical and mental health deteriorates. Till he’s having multiple panic attacks per day and even his asthma medications don’t help the way they should. Then, he gets pregnant and Peter puts all these restriction on Scott’s diet and medications. Which goes pretty well at first until he suddenly decides that Scott doesn’t actually need his prenatal vitamins.

Then decides to lower his caloric intake by 10 every 2 days which of course leads to malnutrition and the degradation of his mental and physical health. But Scott does his best to hide some of the worst of his condition so that he will not be angry with him or think that he is wavering in his belief. But it takes too much of a toll on his body so he ends up in the hospital in desparate need of serious treatment but cannot be covered under Peter’s insurance so Melissa is called in (Agent McCall has effectively disowned Scott and will have nothing to do with him). Melissa catches on very quickly as to what is happening between Scott and Peter and curses him the fuck out despite the fact that she’s way smaller than him and that he’s an alpha. She damn near instantly takes full control of the situation, threatening to sue the hospital if they don’t begin treatment immediately and severely restricting Peter’s access to Scott whenever possible. It takes a very long time to get Scott better again too. He has some very close calls and miscarries early on and it takes a very long time for him to recover from the emotional pain of it as well and the physical realities of his condition but under Melissa’s expert guidance he starts to improve. Things are slow between the two of them at first as it’s been like a decade since they last interacted in any meaningful way but her tenderness and motherly love is the perfect salve for his bruised soul and the two become close again, deciding together that Scott should move in with her, at least until he’s 100% better and has a good therapist. Peter and Scott sometimes talk in secret but Scott can’t bring himself to actually go back to him. “I don’t want to die. If I come back you’ll kill me, you almost did this time. Who’s to say that next time you won’t succeed? ” And they gradually talk less and less until Peter is completely out of Scott’s life. That doesn’t sound like a good reason to ship Scott/Peter I know but in the dream the passion between them at first was quite lovely. Also there was a daydream that I will post soon that looks like it could blossom into a promising relationship with Peter actually being fucking decent to Scott. I will write a beautiful sex scene when I have the chance.
