i recently made a post j updating that pamela anderson went to paris fashion week without makeup (which is so so great!!!) and I see a lot of people reblogging saying she looks so beautiful, and like maybe im being way too nit picky but I feel like that kind of misses the point ?
like yes she looks great, but what if she had looked awful? what if she had looked really genuinly rough? like yk ?? the point is that she doesn't have to look beautiful. she doesnt even have to have "natural beauty". she doesn't have to look good at all (and she'd still be worthy of love and respect).
I imagine some of the people saying she looks beautiful probably would still say it anyway even if she looked unattractive, but that just goes back to the whole like "the solution is not to expand the definition of fuckable" thing yk?
not to mention, not everyone looks like pamela anderson (she's had cosmetic surgery which definitely plays a role in her appearance even makeup-free), so I can only imagine other women seeing people STILL putting any weight or importance on how she looks, and how they might feel abt themselves and their own bare-face. like isn't the point that she doesn't have to look beautiful at all?? pointing out how pretty she looks without makeup is kinda doing her and other women a disservice yk?
and maybe im misunderstanding and its like a "beauty on the inside" thing but the comments/reblogs/tags calling her beautiful or stunning or whatever do seem to be talking abt her appearance
