so, a little bit of info about our rules:

1: we will not do requests of fictional characters. our style doesnt work with that. sorry!

2: we are not going to participate in any kind of discourse on this blog, and we wont make emojis for it either. that means no anti/pro-endo emojis, no radqueer emojis, no shipcourse, etc.

3: we arent going to stop anyone from interacting, though! no dni here. anyone can interact, including anti/pro-endos/willos, radqueers, and other identities that are typically excluded. just because we disagree with you doesnt mean you dont deserve our emojis!

Those of you who read my journal comic from last August might recall that I met Robinson at a Trek convention! I'd learned from reading these books that Stitch was considered a white whale among collectors, and now I absolutely understand why. If you're a DS9 fan and you want to try any book from the original run of novels, try this one. By which I mean, try the far easier-to-find audiobook version.

So yes, maybe I'm cheating by including Moby Dick since I'm not all the way finished, but Whale Weekly really did end up being a great tool for getting me to crack open my gorgeous Evan Dahm-illustrated copy I've had for a while.

My favorite book of the year is Roadside Picnic by Arkady & Boris Strugatsky. I genuinely did read it the first week of January, but after having it recommended to me for years, I'm thrilled it didn't disappoint. Maybe I am someone who likes Russian novels after all???

Fuck it, we ball.

So, after the disaster, that is this, the Abyss decides that it really can't afford to waste anymore time. It's let them have many happy weeks. It HAS to act.

It sends CPU and Lag to Computer Hell to not only let the inmates out but distract Antivirus enough so he can't stop them. Obviously, he (Antivirus) knows them enough (and has common sense) to know that this isn't them. Unfortunately, the Abyss also sent Phobos as back up, so Antivirus really doesn't have any way of stopping them.

Once those two have completed their purpose? Well, for CPU, it just violently disconnects him from its mind control, causing all of his programs and systems to do an emergency shutdown and throws him into a random server. Fun!

As for Lag, it lets Black Doom decide whatever he wants to do with Lag. And considering there is no way to get the information out of Lag, he just decides to let the Admin go. Antivirus, thankfully, nabs him just in time to get the hell out of dodge and to NWO. The Admin also had the foresight to send a message as soon as those two showed up, so everyone back in NWO is already on edge and getting ready.

Unfortunately, it does do very little against the fact that there was the scouting squad, and its the LITERAL ABYSS AND BLACK DOOM WITH ALL HIS GUYS, PLUS ALL THE INMATES.

So, that's fun for them. Thankfully, with the somewhat early warning from Antivirus, they were able to get all the people who couldn't fight out of there. Just in time, too.

As when the villains arrive?

Turns out the Abyss has figured out the ability to lock down an entire server, so no one, not even Database, can get IN or OUT.

And between all the shit that goes down? They're going to be fighting for their lives.

Plus, on top of all that...

Juliano can only wonder if this is what Princess Peach felt like every time she got captured by Bowser.

Except the difference being it is an Eldritch Abomination that is holding him hostage, trying to break him mentally, and also is that fucking COOKIE??

It clearly is her, but she's freshened up. Her spider legs are back, clearly repaired by the Abyss, judging by how they're pitch black. She's wearing.. different clothes, too. And Juliano has to admit, they are really nice. It's a bit like a priestess outfit, but it's also extremely practical.

He gives credit where credit is due. She looks nice. As does the other Program standing next to her, but he doesn't know that one.

Juliano, also, really wishes he hadn't been snatched in front of Forum, Domain, and Emulator, because he's quite sure they've noticed what the hell is going on with him, and now he really can't deny it.

"Ah- Creator!"

Oh, thank god, it's Abyssal.

In the cramped cage, Juliano turns his head to looked at the pink goddess. Her wings flapped as she landed on the platform, and he feels relief as their eyes meet.

Out of the corner of his eye, as she begins to discuss something, a private message box appears.

She smiles a bit at that.

It's a little annoying that they have to speak in emojis, but at the same time, Juliano is thankful.

The box suddenly disappears, and Abyssal looks horrified as they look at the Abyss. Who had turned to look at him with a grin that spells nothing good.

It melts away, and tendrils drop down.

He even hears Cookie suck in a breath, Cluster mutter an "Oh that's too far.." and Abyssal just looks horrified as her wings flare out.

But Juliano can't hear them as he stares at what the tendrils hold, eyes pinpricks.

Are these familiar? the Abyss mocks in his head.

Juliano can't even answer. Because there's tears falling down his face, and there's a desperate aching need for him to GET THOSE AWAY FROM IT, GET THEM AWAY NOW.

But he can't.

And so he's forced to watch as the Abyss carelessly dangles the two things he wants the most, the plushed Cody and Mandy made for him, right in front of his face.

All while it cackles.

(As she watches, Abyssal sucks in a deep breath. Suddenly, beating back the Abyss just became a lot more personal.)

OK!!! Time to ramble about auditor and how they would handle grief

(ANOTHER READ MORE BECAUSE THIS GOT REALLY LONG AND MAYBE KINDA INCOHERENT )

Mentioned briefly at the end of my last ramble but I'll reiterate here

Employers arent exactly built to feel grief. Its better to not be built with grief as well they're immortal and will see countless mortals rise and fall, so it would just overcomplicate things.

BUT i already mentioned how Auditor is the most "human" out of the employers as due to him being the one who interacts the most with mortals he picked up their behaviors/habits. Which would largely expand their emotional captiability and emotions are a central part of human life

And a thing with Auditor is the main emotion he usually feels is anger, rage, frustration. They're quite literally a flaming figure and its the emotions that command the most power and control. So its usually its go to emotion in their worst moments.

And well with Phobos' death, its their first experince of grief. And despite the fact their relationship ended on a sour note, they very much still cared for Phobos and are grieving horribily. And since its their first time feeling such an emotion, its incridbly intense. But not only that they're incredibly conflicted with it, that burning hatred and frustation they felt with Phobos stubborness in not letting go of his foolish goal is still very much present, so they're angry, they're pissed off, a part of him should be glad that hes gone. But they're not, they miss him immensly, they're geniuely grieving, and they just dont know how to react to so much grief. And of course their go to emotion being anger, they're pretty mich exploding.

Being a stoic figure they try to keep it under control, they still have to keep face in front of the Employers so they try to remain calm and composed like the rest. But they cant and they hate the fact they're feeling so much. Not helped by the fact by seeing how much Sun is suffering with handling Phobos' death. They see Sun epxressing their anger so freely, so publicly, but Auditor refuses to the same. Which only further distances them and causing more lashing out from the 2.

So basically Auditor is trying to hard to keep calm and composed, but the grief and the anger and frustation he feels with the grief keeps on bubbling. They only let it out alone with no one looking because they cant afford to let anyone see them like this.

And ermmmmm then with Sun gone, its just a complete breaking point. HUGEEEEE HUGEEE pile of emotions, more grief, more furstation and anger towards to that grief as they dont just understand grief because it only showed up after Phobos' death and only continues to worsen with Sun's death!!!! Anyways this guy is just in constant conflict with his emotions now thumsb up emoji (AGRHJJKJ)

It was dark Limgrave, with the night offering a cloak to someone who hadn't owned one. Venomous, vitriolic movements scattered the bushes into having their own shuffle along his, snaking through the blue lush with a sickening pace, and a dagger sleuthed right into a brutish palm. Patches had a tendency to devolve a golden soul into a heartless gape in the chest when the chance for money had arrived, furthering his greed when setting predatory eyes on Phobos, somewhere in the groves.

And his presence suddenly stills, silencing his existence, to breathlessly stalk.

Bracing herself against the trunk of a twisted oak stands a rather familiar Nox, one gloved hand pinning a handmade map to the surface of the tree while the other tries its best to track which way she'd wandered. (And failing quite spectacularly, it seems, scribbling over the marks she'd made with a murmured curse or two.) Ironically, to Phobos, Limgrave is harder to navigate than Liurnia or even the Altus Plateau.

It seems Patches' greed has found a rather distracted target, and at that, one who seems to have recently acquired a rather fancy new staff. Made of carefully carved wood with inlaid, glimmering glintstone and lined with decorative silver, surely it could fetch a pretty penny.
