So my brain realized that Wyatt's initials are "A"&"W"...and now I headcanon my protag having Wyatt's contact name as "RootBeer" (along with the heart, of course). Seriously, Wyatt has such a hold on me it's not funny 😭 Thank you for this wonderful story 💝
This is so adorable! 🥺 For the non-US crowd, it's this.
By the way, you don't have to keep it as headcanon! After you see the following text in the game:
INFO: your contact list has been unlocked.
you can go to the stat screen and you will see this option at the bottom:
Continue to edit contacts and you will see the option to rename your contacts to achieve this:
You get to specify the sentiment behind the contact name (friendly/flirty/neutral) and that will be brought up at certain points in the story.

Ordering Pizza In The Olden Days
The phone book was the resource for almost everything including pizza. For those of us of a certain age, this brings back some fond memories.

I'm pretty sure my subconscious mind is trying to remind me just how old I am getting.
During a dream last night, there was a part where I was reading the yellow pages. Yes, that massive book of phone numbers that every household still gets, yet no one actually wants or needs.
I wasn't exactly "reading" it per se, more flipping through it, similar to how most people would read a newspaper (something else that few people look at anymore) simply skimming the pages and stopping to check out anything that caught my eye and seemed of interest.
At no point in that dream were there any cellphones or computers noticeably present. Merely that giant, outdated physical form analog information distribution.
Just as I'm about to get another year old, I think my brain is making sure I do not forget just how far I have come (and how many years have passed) from those pre-internet days frequently using that piece of old-school "technology" during my childhood.

It's crazy to me that when I was younger a big book would just appear in the mail and inside this book you could find the phone numbers and names. Like all of them in town. Wouldn't that mean you'd be getting calls from strangers?what if a disgruntled customer decided they wanted tonl yell at the person who made their burge? Who thought this was a good idea

Phonebook
And I sunk,
but it didn’t even feel like
the rug was pulled out
from under me.
I was too busy looking
at you to notice my feet
were no longer on solid ground.
My world— cascading
And you never offered a hand.
For months,
I couldn’t find anything to hold.
My hands too calloused
to find a good grip
In the meantime, you held on to many things—
Conner,
Dylan,
The boy who lived down the street.
The first boy I ever kissed—
On your couch in your house,
I felt like I was growing up
And you saw me for what I was,
naive and primed for picking.
Do you remember what you said when your friends asked why we were?
You fumbling,
I asked myself the same
We lived and breathed and
died in purgatory
You promised that you were looking
for what I was looking for.
Easier to
catch when you
both think
you’re searching
for the same thing.
And over time,
that promise of long term
became shorter and shorter
until floating became impossible,
for we were dry by October

A Crafted Phone Book
A Crafted Phone Book
Jepson Center for the Arts-Savannah Georgia
Here’s an example of how everyday folks use their creativity to design a piece of art. Take notice that Ms. Addie Reeves even took the time to punctuate after the abbreviation for Georgia. (Ga.)
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a happy day 🙂

I got the teensiest tiniest phone book I’ve ever seen before in the mail today. Just really tickled me how this thing that used to be ubiquitous has transformed over the years. I used to use these things as doorstops and now they’re barely the thickness of a couple of coins.
