Chapter 15: Collection Day

When presenting their collections to an Ex, Jasper is short and is intercepted by Matt, a cruel Piercor with a vendetta against him.

The group is believed to be Dwellers and forced to take off their masks. However, Callum refuses and runs away. Baxley is forcefully immobilized, but Pyxie runs after him, and Matt throws a knife at her that catches her in the back.

Chapter 14: The Mask

The trio and Jasper reach the Ex's Level, but are separated by an event. An Other has been captured and is shot before a crowd, and its technicolor blood bleeds onto Baxley's shoes.

Baxley emphasizes with the Other.

One of the Piercors notices Callum behaving anxiously and comes to inspect him and Baxley, but they are saved by Jasper.

Pyxie teases Callum about never showing his face, tries to pull off his mask, and is punched in the face by him. Later, she tells Jasper that she at the least can enjoy the pain, because she is a masochist. However, she is confused and saddened by Callum's outburst.

Chapter 13: Stagnancy

The golden trio meet a man named Jasper who belongs to the Ex-Dwellers- a mask wearing society oppressed by the "Dwellers", a cruel group from Outside who live in the depths.

However, the Ex are also tormented by their own leaders, rule enforcers called the "Piercors" who uphold the law violently.

Baxley and co. must disguise themselves as Ex in order to sneak to the next Floor.

Non graphic mention of the Dweller's cruelty, including destruction of homes, robbery, murder, and kidnapping of women. Later this is revealed to include all people with pretty faces
