Always feels weird when ppl are sort of playfully like “sorry your body is giving you a hard time” or smth to that effect. Ik it’s never meant badly and other ppl probably do appreciate that kind of sentiment but for me it always feels sort of weird bc of how much I’ve had to hammer into my head that my body and I are not separate entities and it isn’t doing these things to spite me. My body and I are going through these things together. It’s doing its best to survive. When I first got sick I was really angry with my body and felt hurt and betrayed by it and sort of slowly had to learn to look at it with the same kindness and sympathy that I want to be treated with, since it is me. And also I don’t really like the idea of other people seeing my body that way. My body is me, be kind and understanding to it.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with enjoying particular types of art more than others, but the knee jerk disdain people have towards modern art is disappointing…
I think u have to be ok with not connecting to everything that u see. That’s just fine. Art is like food and there’s going to be some stuff that just doesn’t work for u regardless of if it’s objectively well done or not. There’s a flavour of anti-intellectualism and inferiority complex that seems to accompany ppls hatred of modern art, this discomfort that they “don’t get it” when that’s like. Actually fine. Some stuff u will appreciate once u learn context and others, regardless… u just won’t! I still hate beans & legumes
That being said I also have friends who would rather order the same mac & cheese at a restaurant every single time than risk getting something they won’t enjoy — or won’t enjoy as much. But art costs u very little to try in comparison, so why not try it?

Remembering that two long-running arcs of the Origami Yoda series regarding Dwight were his classmates becoming real friends with him as they stop seeing him as the ‘weird kid’ and connecting with him as a person, and Dwight starting and continuing to date Caroline, the girl he likes. These arcs present to the (presumably neurotypical) audience, an autistic-coded character as someone nuanced and human, who is capable and desirable as a partner and friend, encouraging the idea of looking past dismissive judgements of strangeness and to try to understand people, and even if you can’t, accept them and appreciate them for who they are.

The problem with having puppers is that you start scolding everything out of habit:
Aus post who is keeping my package in customs for 387903 million years? No :(
C-ptsd induced emotional flashbacks with the classic flinch response? No 😓
youtube who paused my song RIGHT before the best part to ask ‘time to take a break ^^?’ even though I never set such a thing and I bet it’s choosing to be annoying on purpose bc I deleted it last week to prevent distractions and it has since been reinstated: Nooo 😡
