Randomly found this on my external hard drive - dunno why but I've always had a soft spot for Pierre 😅 I find his bio kind of funny because it talks about what a psychotic murderer he is and how he likes to toy with his victims. Y'know, the guy Lara scared of a cliff by going "boo!" 😂

Year 1685
TW/CW: Child Death
The remaining ward of the Carlisle home, Milo, celebrated becoming a teenager that January and the joy that came with a milestone birthday continued for Giovanni Cesare as he learned that to Torricelli couple welcomed a daughter in Tartosa and his cousin Luisa was seriously courting in Newcrest.
Vivienne's younger half-sister celebrated her sixth birthday as well and it seemed like a good time for Milo to move in with his sister leaving his former step-father's home.
In Newcrest, the Carlisle family was recovering from the loss of their brother as the younger children grew closer and Luisa tried to distract herself from being too occupied by thoughts of her love.
But it didn't matter too much because her love, Pierre Dupont, quickly proposed and the pair was wed by May.
Sadly, just as his sister began to show with her pregnancy, the overbearing heat from the summer claimed young Clement.
In Tartosa, Salvador celebrated his sixth birthday and not too far behind Camilla also celebrated her sixth birthday.
The came to a close as back in the Carlisle home, little Susana was finally able to toddle around after her older sister and Giovanni Cesare's daughters.

there were protests and some supermarket got its windows smashed & shit and the news did a vox pop about it and one of the guys said "it doesn't make sense to associate a supermarket with capitalism" so if you want to know the degree of understanding of society the average french person has. Here
#supermarket owned by multimillion euros national company. literally withholding goods everyone needs in exchange for profit.#jean-pierre-paul-jacques dupont-martin : ah mais zis is not le capitalisme of course enfin voyons

But that convention thing was precisely what infuriated me when I realised - Dupont had negotiated just as well and had been granted precisely the same thing for his men, free return into France. If that bit was enough to exonerate Junot, why not Dupont?
From what I have read here and elsewhere also Junot bore a lot more personal responsibility for the situation he found himself in than Dupont; Junot over months had neglected to carry out Napoleon's orders that demanded a full disarmament of the country, but been very keen on pressing as much money out of the country as he could - of which much did not go into the imperial coffers (or at least that's what Hérman claimed later). Whereas Dupont had been sent to the South, alone, isolated, without support and left to himself, and then was blamed when things went to hell.
I cannot help but see similarities with Soult's situation in Portugal a couple of months later (Soult even being blamed for the fact he had not asked for help after Joseph, Jourdan and Ney had each done their utmost to make sure communications with Soult would be interrupted). And while the Convention of Cintra made it possible for Napoleon to pretend that nothing had happened, it does not explain the level of indulgence for Junot's behaviour earlier.
It never truly occurred to me but
the defeat of Bailén and the defeat of Vimeiro happened barely four weeks from each other
and both conventions/capitulations were almost identical and stipulated that the French army would be allowed to return home freely
Except that at Bailén, the convention was broken (apparently on British insistance?).
I also can't help but notice how very different the guys in charge were treated: Dupont not only at the end of his career but publicly humiliated, together with all his staff and the generals having served under him. He in person incarcerated and only released by the Bourbons. And best buddy Junot ... not even a slap on the wrist.

asking stuff about ocs, let’s hear some hcs/ silly things about Pierre or another of your choosing
First of all I love the url!!! Secondly, some silly things about him :]
- Pierre has pica, he will eat small/soft rocks often or anything chalky
- Loves to dance and will sometimes even do little dances when there's not even music playing just because he feels like it
- Despite literally eating rocks he doesn't like Nuka-Cola. He thinks it's too sweet and syrupy
- He's pansexual and technically genderqueer, gender is like an afterthought to him and while he mainly uses he/him since he's read as masculine by other people he's fine with being referred to as whatever
- Didn't actually know a lot of English till his teen years (his first language is French) because he was kept extremely isolated as a kid. Because of that he has an extremely noticeable accent
- Forgets to blink sometimes. Freaks people out especially since he has blue eyes
- Can't draw for shit. Can only make stick figures really
- Likes to try his hand at poetry though. Whether it's good or not is largely subjective
- Loves animals, especially dogs. He used to have one as a kid
- Has a pair of binoculars and will sometimes just sit around watching anything for hours. People, animals, clouds, even
Thanks for asking about my ocs, I love rambling about them since I spend a lot of time thinking about them :3
#theres a lot more to him but these are just more lighthearted ones#vinny rambles#ask#fallout oc#fallout#pierre dupont (oc)
