I know the Charthur Bandwagon (me included) never shuts up about this interaction but it's so DIFFERENT guys it's different I swear. There's just some moments between these two that are frighteningly personal and soft.

"...and Dutch was worried" Meaning Charles probably wasn't following Dutch's orders, but instead offered to look for Arthur himself, just mostly on account of Dutch's concern.

Or (and I like this one a lot better) he set out on account of his own worry, not really telling a lie, but still using Dutch's name to prick Arthur's ears and let him know it's time to come home. He wanted Arthur back himself.

"Soon, I promise" is UGH. I honestly think there's enough physical contact just in how they speak to each other. How Arthur's voice gets softer when he says it, like he's pushing Dutch out of the conversation and cupping his hands around just the two of them. Promising— like a vulnerable admission— in the sole attempt to ease Charles and his concern. The shift in his tone is so natural and secure and warm it hurts.

I know it's not canon and never will be, but you gotta admit there's a (arguably intentionally) blurred space in their relationship and it's affections that is terribly intimate, romantic or not.

If one more person misconstrues Arthur's journal entry about how he should have married Abigail as genuine romantic attraction I will actually lose it. OBVIOUSLY IT WAS TO SUPPORT HER AND JACK AND FILL THE ROLE JOHN RAN FROM!!! Marriage for the sake of convenience and support is nothing new folks. It was not lust nor love. I personally don't even think Arthur had anything with Abigail at any point. They were just two troubled souls that had leant on each other in a desperate situation. Y'all are stirring a hollow pot talking about how John would've felt reading that entry. He probably didn't even give a damn because he knew well Arthur's insistence on giving Abby and her boy at least some semblance of stability.

When I first played this mission I couldn't stop laughing because it felt like the closest we could've gotten to the "only one bed" trope.

This is worded so beautifully. I think about it so much. I'll watch him in his tent or in front of the campfire or even amongst the gang and there's never a second that goes by where he isn't shifting in place. Even his little cat naps when you open the game, his hand twitches, and he takes that big sigh, over and over.

I just want him to be content 🙁

If you leave Arthur Morgan to relax in the bath, his hands fidget.

They flex, curl, and release on the edge of the tub, like they're unused to sitting idle. His head keeps lifting and his eyes glance around, not able to relax or leave himself unguarded, before he slowly sinks back against the tub. He repositions how his head rests a few times before he truly settles, like he doesn't quite know how to make or let himself be comfortable. He heaves deep sighs like he wants to put a burden down, but never truly lets any weight off his shoulders.

If you leave Arthur Morgan to relax in the bath, he can't. He doesn't know how.

Charthur's the type of couple to have their first kiss already believing they've kissed a hundred times before and they only realize afterwards that it was their first. Physical intimacy was the very last milestone cause theyve already been makin out with their eyes and words.

I love the Charthur where Arthur's still grappling with his weird thing with gender roles and despite both of them being providers and generally fitting into a traditionally masculine/husbandly archetype Charles just puts up with it anyways as if he were cheering on his husband's little hobby. Arthur "I Love My Wife" Morgan and the Wife in question is a burly stubbled man in his 30s like Very Nice Honey

Arthur's devastating first impression to St. Denis because What do you mean he JUST got here and he's already slipped and fell onto his ass in front of an entire market of people. I actually tear up every time. I can't handle it. And the scene where he walks into the Bastille Saloon and every skngle person in the fucking building stares at him in silence for three seconds like ohmyg od😭😭😭h mygodt.

Said it before I'll say it again the only two people who kissed Arthur in the game being named Charles and Charlotte is Not coincidence there was 100% a queer person in that Rockstar HQ Script Writing Wing who was The First Charthur Truther. And yes I believe they were responsible for every Charles and Arthur moment also. The canoes. The cornfield. The 'always'. I must find them. There's just too much evidence.

Whenever I'm at a low and I have to force myself to clean up or do chores sometimes I pretend I am a Modern Arthur Morgan in a one-bed one-bath apartment living off tv dinners and beer and prozac and just trying to hold my life together

I will never EVER get over that scene that happens if you fail to pull up the snake oil salesman from the cliff because Arthur seems genuinely distraught that he wasn't able to save him. He immediately scrambles up with a gasp and hunches over with a choked-up "sorry" and it's such a fleeting yet strikingly open moment I just cannot get over it.

I stopped playing rdr2 for a few months due to the dissolving state of my ps4 and other life stresses. Decided last night to pick it up again and risked a house fire to give you all some lovely photos of Charles, and a sprinkle of Charthur.

I had some grand plan to linger around Charles and watch his morning routine like a creep. This particular time he went and removed last night's stew from the fire, then washed his face from the pail behind Pearson's wagon. He then walked all the way to the edge of camp to look at nothing for about a minute.

When that was done, I ended up sitting right beside him on a log for a good while. The interaction went like this:

C — "You okay?" (he spoke first!)

A — "Hi, Charles." (very insightful)

To which Charles responds with a very, very earnest smile.

The rest of the time I watched him roll his own cigarette and smoke it to a stub. Of course that's when I took all the photos— because, y'know, vague homoeroticism and cigarettes. All the while trying to turn Arthur's damn sights away so Charles would stop glaring insistently back at him. I mean, I'm aware that it's just game mechanics, but there was some serious eye-contact happening. Initially I felt it was interrupting my photoshoot, but on second-thought, I'm certain I was actually the one interrupting.

Anywho. During this enthusiastic interaction I kept thinking about this post by @arthursfuckinghat. I can't think of a better comparison. Finally being able to sit knee-to-knee with Charles for longer than ten seconds was a life-altering experience.

Also, I learned that he loves to lean back on the log a good bit. In comparison to Arthur's despondent (yet somehow immensely tense) shrimp posture, it was kinda silly.

I love how often Charles says Arthur's name when he's talking tohim mostly in the small camp interactions but also in general just Arthur Arthur Arthur Arthur like it's the most natural thing in the world

Do you remember your first impression of Arthur?

Kid you not the first thing I noticed was his stupid little suspenders. Immediately fascinated. Charmed, even. I remember walking into my sibling playing this new Rockstar game we'd bought. They were in wardrobe mode, dressing him up at his tent in Horseshoe. I see this idiot and his goofy cowboy getup. I learn his slightly unfitting name for such an outlaw: Arthur, like a teddy bear. We go through a few missions and I'm transfixed. His accent! His wit! Obviously the only choice I had was to make him a little one-bed cabin in my heart. He just never really left.

Arthur moves like he's got a carrot on a stick. He's the embodiment of snooping around to me. He just. Sticks his head everywhere. And his beautiful nose is like the leading point. Intrigued and nosy and always curious. But also like his legs just cannot keep up with his head. Terribly similar to a dog, either way.
