Ditto on the question about where you shop. My gf is obsessed with you and wants to know where you buy your bikinis.
Let me rack the ol lizard brain let’s see:
The white one is from Lane Bryant
The rainbow tie dye looking one is from Shein (awful I know)
I also have a lime green one from Shein
Old Navy
I got a really cheap $5 one from pretty little thing
I got the pink and orange one from Forever21
I would also recommend Boohoo, nasty gal, asos and alpine butterfly (if you have a big ass budget and wanna splurge)!

Summer Essentials (clothing edition)
Crochet-wear
Tumblr media Tumblr media
they're lightweight, breathable, and downright cute. personally, i don't think there's an article of clothing that screams summer more than crochet apparel even though the style can be worn year round.
Bathing suits

summer is definitely not over and you still have plenty of time to go to the beach or lounge poolside to catch a quick tan or show off that summer body you've been working so hard for. 🏖☀️

Going out/mini dress

you know the little black dress? alluring and sexy. its same historical fashion purpose applies here, but let summer be the time you opt for a more colorful option that's suitable for date night, lunch with the girls, or to have a spree around the city in.

Sundress
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this dress is meant to be different from the going out/mini dress, though it can have the same affect. the sundress represents your "lounge" dress -- you should be able to move around freely in it. in my opinion, this dress should be flowy, have a pretty print (optional), and preferably maxi or midi. another representation of a sundress is the bodycon style we've all seen before (2nd pic).

Could you give some recommendations on places to get cute bikini sets on a budget? For context I’m a college student who was looking through all my swimsuits today and realized they’re all ugly and ones I’ve had since middle school.. I just want a cute bikini set, one that makes me feel good. I like Bamba and Frankie’s bikinis but they’re just so expensive
Check out Victoria’s Secret Pink! They have a line with Frankie’s Bikinis that’s on sale for around $10-$20 USD right now, and their other options are relatively affordable. ASOS also has some sales on Frankie’s bikinis, and in general I’ve had good luck with their other options as well. And my favorite swimsuit recently is actually from NastyGal, which has some good sales going as well.

UK Episode Five
UK Hun?
I know I haven't at all talked about Drag Race UK this season, but I have ~opinions~ and my flatmate is getting bored of me so here we are.
First episode back after lockdown! I feel so bad for these queens, started filming, get sent home for seven months, have no idea if/when they're going to start filming again, lose income for 7 months, it must have been so awful. But I'm glad they're all back! Except poor Veronica who got covid - I hope they do a Eureka and invite her back for season 3, I feel like she had so much more to show!
Of course they brought someone back to replace her, typical drag race gag, but nice that someone else got another chance! Having said that, it should have been Astina. She didn't deserve to go home in the first place, imo. I do think it was kind of harsh to throw that at everyone first thing though! Like the eliminated three didn't get to do anything to even fight for it, and for all the remaining queens, like its been seven months! Who remembers things that long?? Not me, that's for damn sure. I think that was kind of harsh, and I think a lot of people did go for Joe maybe as a safe choice, like there's always an argument for the queen who went home first, they didn't really get to show much. You know what I wish, I wish those three had been a group for the Eurovision (I refuse to say Rurovision) challenge, and then everyone got a chance to vote someone back. That would have felt fairer somehow.
Anyway. I was initially really glad we got Joe back, because I really felt like she did have more to show. I was soon to be disappointed, however 😂
I do love the music challenges, and I adore MNEK, I hope he is like the permanent music judge. One of my favourite moments was him, I think it was after Bimini's first take, going "well...its good that we have that..." very like Chrissy Teigen 😬 that was so funny to me, I loved it.
1. A'Whora
Before the covid break I really didn't like A'Whora, but I feel like she's come back a bit more relaxed, a bit more open, and I liked her so much more this episode. I feel like maybe when she came back she was a bit more relaxed because she knew (kind of) what she was walking into, so she felt a but more at home, maybe. Anyway, I think she did really well this week! She's not a singer, but she leaned into this moany sexy thing that some people do do at Eurovision, and hey, sex sells! I think it was a smart choice for her.
Her look as well... amazing. You guys it was a bag of chips! She had wooden forks as her earrings! The font of the newspaper was to scale! She was carrying a salt shaker! It was so sick, I loved it. I loved seeing her be fashion and polished and beautiful, but also whimsy and funny at the same time! Great week for A'Whora.
2. Bimini Bon Boulash
We LOOOOOOOVE Bimini Bon Boulash! For me, she was the absolute stand out this week, I just adored her! Her verse was amazing, her lyrics were great, her very East London attitude was everything, I just loved it. And her outfit! That mad pink cowboy barbie? Incredible! Also, so Eurovision. And the jump off the stool! That lives in my head rent free. "Somebody do a death drop or summing!" Perfect. The whole performance was amazing.
Also her runway looooooook! It was so beautiful, so fashion, I was getting Gautier from that lace and the umbrella... everything about it to me was so perfect. I know it was a team win, but to me Bimini absolutely killed it, and she was my winner 🥰🥰
3. Ellie Diamond
I love Ellie, but honestly I think she's too young for this competition. She's so great, but if you give her just a couple more years, she's going to be absolutely unstoppable. I think she did pretty well this week, her lyrics were fun, she is a dancer, she performed great! I do agree with Michelle, she did look a little bit like she was in her head for a lot of the performance, but that just comes with confidence, and when you've not performed for 7 months and then suddenly you're on the main stage, that's got to be super nerve wracking!
I also think Ellie was a victim of a bad group this week. I think the group as a whole didn't have a lot of direction or focus, the choreography wasn't that great, they didn't really feel like a group. It was unfortunate. I feel like she did the best she could.
I kind of loved her runway, I think the seagull thing was hilarious! She was a human size seagull! That's hysterical. The only thing I kind of wish is that she'd had ridiculous padding on. Like, what's funnier than a giant seagull with huge tits in a bikini. I think that's so funny.
4. Joe Black
Oh Joe. I was excited for Joe to come back, but as soon as she walked out to the Eurovision challenge in that dress with that wig and a belt, I knew it was over.
I'll get into the dress H&M/Primark drama in a second, but first let's talk about the actual challenge. Joe's lyrics were pretty good, but the way she performed them was just so at odds with the track. It's cheesy Euro pop, you know? I just feel like she could have done things differently. And then with the choreo...look I don't expect anyone to walk in being a great dancer and doing flips and splits and all that, but I just felt like she didn't even really try with the moves Ellie and Tia wanted to do. Maybe that was the edit, I don't know. I also feel like, as team leader, she could have found some solutions, like they could've had Tia & Ellie doing these amazing moves, and Sister & Joe could have done something more simple, or they could have found some comedy Joe could lean into while the others were dancing, but it just seemed like they didn't even try and find a way around it? It was just a bit weird to me.
And then she came out for the runway, and it was like chalk and cheese. Joe Black had by far and away the best runway look of the night. That's one of my favourite things that's ever been worn on UK Drag Race, it was amazing. But it was also like girl if you can do that, why were you wearing H&M during the main challenge? And like, I'd get it, if that dress was beautiful, or bold, or she'd used it as a base and done something to it, but it wasn't. It was so basic, and she even said she knew it was basic, and it didn't even fit her right. It was just so disappointing.
Honestly, I understand what Ru was saying about not wanting to see off the rack. I can't believe I'm about to be defending Transphobia Paul, but I actually kind of agree. And it's not about money, I don't think anyone has to spend loads of money to be a good drag queen, I think its just about it being a Look. A Moment. Like this is internationally available TV. And you're going to come out to perform in a dress off the sale rack that you just threw on and belted? I just find that disappointing. And I get what people are saying about Astina in week 1 winning with an off the rack outfit, but at least she did something with it. I mean, first of all it at least was a cool jacket. But then she built this outfit, and sold a character, she gave us an East London Moment, and it didn't matter that the jacket was from ASOS.
Joe didn't give us anything with that dress. She did nothing with it, and she didn't give us a character or a presentation, it was just an ugly dress. But then she came out in that incredible runway look, why such a disconnect? And I know that it was covid, and everyone had a loss of income, but girl the filming started before that. Like Joe should have already had the wardrobe for the season all ready before the lockdown. And if she didn't, she had 7 months to do literally anything with that dress. Stone it, glitter it, paint it, dye it, wreck it with bleach, make it a top, make it a jacket, do SOMETHING! You know? Also, that runway look? Idk if she made it or commissioned it, but baby that was not cheap. That took time, and energy, and effort, and money, so I'm calling bullshit on "maybe she could only afford a sale rack H&M dress 😔". Bullshit, Vivienne.
I was just so disappointed in Joe. I'm glad she went home.
5. Lawrence Chaney
I was worried for Lawrence this week! She's not known for being a singer or a dancer, and she was the only plus size girl in her group. As a big bitch myself I know it can be intimidating to be surrounded by thin people, especially when you're doing things you're not confident in.
But bitch she fucking turned it out this week! She wrote good lyrics, she kept up with the choreography, but most importantly, she performed the song. Like she leaned into not being a good dancer, she didn't look unsure or awkward, she just did it. I love that about Lawrence, she always just gives it her best, and I respect the hell out of it.
Her day at the seaside look was cute. It was a little bit obvious, a little bit literal, but it was well made, it fit her beautifully, and she looked fantastic. She did the assignment, and tbh I'm happy with that. She did a good job, and I'm proud of her!
6. Sister Sister
Honesly, the fact that Tia Kofi was in the bottom two when Sister Sister was right there is a fucking hate crime.
I genuinely forgot Sister Sister even existed. Like the only memorable thing she has done all season is her Morning Talk Show goth, and that was painful to watch. And she spends all her confessionals just bitching and moaning about other people! She spent the whole Talk Show episode complaining about Veronica and saying she didn't wanna work with her, but bitch what did you do?? If you think someone else is boring, you should have no trouble out shining them! And then she didn't!
I'm over it with her. Her performance wasn't that good, her lyrics weren't that good, and then her runway look was like the Wish version of A'Whora's.
I'm not totally certain that I buy that Sister stole it as a concept from A'Whora, but... maybe? Like, if Sister had really seen A'Whora's when they were filming the first time, and Sister had something totally different back then... I can see that maybe she thought "oh, thats a way better idea". All I know is, if you're gonna do the same look as someone else, you better leave them in the dust; and she didn't. She should have been lipsyncing this week.
7. Tayce
Tayce really pulled it out this week! Her rap was one of the best performances in the whole show, she killed it! Her lyrics were great, she really delivered them like a rapper, and them she performed the hell out of the song! Loved it. The only things I had to say about Tayce was that she seemed like the odd one out in the group in terms of outfits? Like everyone else went very Eurovision, cheesy pop pink, and she went with a very cool, edgy, darker look. Like, she looked stunning, and I looooved her hair, but it just didn't quite fit with the rest of the group. But that's a real nitpick, in terms of the actual performance, she was amazing!
Tayce's runway look. It was okay. It was a little bit literal for me, she went for shells and netting. It was cool, she looked beautiful, but it wasn't like a knockout for me.
8. Tia Kofi
Tia got a raw fucking deal this week. She was the best performer in her group by a country fucking mile, she had the best lyrics, she was the best rapper, and I think she looked the best out of the four in that group (during during challenge). I could not believe they put her in the bottom two.
Okay, her runway look was not great. It was a long way from great. But at least she had a unique concept (*cough* Sister), and she gave us some form of presentation. It could have been a lot better, but there was potential! I really wish that she'd had a much more defined look, I wish the skirt had been a high waisted pencil skirt, with some kind of cone-like texture somehow, really fitted and beautiful. And then I wish the top had been really big and over the top ruffles, maybe tulle, just something BIG. And that wouldn't have had to be expensive, you can buy cheap pencil skirts, she could have dyed one brown herself, and then she could have bought that cheap mesh that looks like tulle and made a really big rounded ice cream top out of it - I'm just proving my point about Joe Black and the off the rack thing now btw. But I wish it had just been a bit more considered than it was. And I also wish she'd had a flake head piece instead of a cherry, because when you buy those ice creams at the beach it's always a 99.
One thing I will give Tia's runway this week is that her face was stunning. I think that's the best her face has looked all season, the makeup was beautiful.
There was kind of a lot of drama this week with the whole off the rack thing, and then the A'Whora vs Sister Sister conspiracy, and I kind of loved it! I also really enjoyed this challenge, I feel like they've had much better and more interesting challenges on the UK series than the American one. Also UK Hun is going to be in my head for weeks.
I'm picking my top 2 of the season as Lawrence Chaney and Bimini Bon Boulash. Veronica Green would have been up there for me as well, it's a real shame that she got sick and couldn't finish this season! I really really hope they bring her back for season 3!

Requested Little Mix Inspired Bathing Suits
Firstly, I would like to point out that I did get confused over the meaning of `Bathing suit` I did not know if that meant swimsuit or bikinis...Initially at the beginning I was looking for bikinis when I realised this, Had a look on Google that wasn`t much help, So I went for a mixture of bikinis and swimsuits. Hope that`s ok
Jade
NastyGal Two Sides to You Leopard High Leg Bikini Set: $37.50. This bikini was already saved in my favourites as I was going to use it as a dupe, but then saw it was more expensive then the original one. Well, it`s lucky I had it saved because now I can put it to good use. Same pattern, Just a different brand. Jade`s original bikini in this print doesn`t have the high waisted bottoms. For those people who are insecure or have low self esteem I would definitely recommend high waisted bikinis, I myself would go for them. They synch in your hips and tuck in your love handles, This creates a slimmer silhouette as well as a longer body. They can also make you look curvy and having curves is nothing to be shameful of, embrace your body.
ASOS Kulani Kinis Rainbow Stripe Swimsuit: £20. Wouldn`t be a post without symbolising Jade`s love for the LGBT community. So we picked up this swimsuit from ASOS. I love this print so bright, colourful and fun and the best thing about it is that it`s only £20. I would team this with white trainers and a casual shirt.
Boohoo Petite Control Halterneck Swimsuit: £11.25. Back when Jade went on holiday too Mykonos last summer she wore this gorgeous swimsuit with floral embroidery in red and I remember in every photo that was taken of her (Lots were taken) I remember this bright red vivid swimsuit was standing out so much and I loved it. So I have gone for similar this time from Boohoo. The material around the stomach will gather you in and also create a slimmer silhouette. I`ve also chosen this swimsuit because of the plunge, Don`t be scared of that word your not plunging off a cliff or taking a plunge into deep water..This plunge is daring but safe, I would say people with bigger breasts would struggle with this as they would struggle to keep everything in and would even get a bit of side boob. Where as people with smaller breasts, You have it easier. Place the strap where you would want and it would stay their, No faffing about means more drinking time.
Jaded London ZEBRA DISC SEQUIN SQUARE NECK SWIMSUIT: £60. Oh we all know I love a bit of embellishment and so does Miss Thirlwall. Jade`s style when it comes to swimwear is fun, quirky, playful etc. Unfortunately, Their wasn`t really any swimsuits about that had more subtle embellishment. But this one makes up for it. Now the area around the breast and shoulders is kind of like a bandeau type of swimsuit, Anyone with bigger breasts would struggle with this as it wouldn`t fit but I`m pretty certain this would fit someone of a much smaller build.
Topshop Snake Print Straight Swimsuit: £26. Jade doesn`t tend to wear a lot of animal print, Only once or twice she`s worn animal print casually, But it seems as though when it comes to swimsuits she goes for it. Inspired mainly by her leopard print bikini she wore to Thailand we decided to go for this subtle, neutral animal print swimsuit. Some animal print swimsuits are very brassy and loud and they arent too everyones taste, In fact they would be more suited to someone who has a loud personality, who is very confident and assured in themselves. For people who don`t want to make a scene or a statement then this is the one for you.
Jaded London DIAMANTE HIGH LEG BIKINI: £11.50/£12. So we got a embellished swimsuit and now we have a embellished bikini. This one is more subtle in it`s detail but it`s edgy and fun. I would go and out buy this if I had a social life. Also, I`ve noticed with most of these swimsuits and bikinis that most of them have a high waist cut, If you don`t know what I mean I`m talking about how short the actual thong is. Not many people are confident to show parts that shouldn`t be shown, But some are. If that was me wearing that kind of thing I would be paranoid something would slip out and that would ruin my holiday. So continue reading if you would like to know how to combat this.
PrettyLittleThing WHITE CRINKLE SCOOP NECK BIKINI TOP: £12. I`ve noticed with every girl that they like to keep some of their swimsuits plain and simple and that might be because they want to re use that bikini or swap it around with another. I saw this bikini and thought of Jade`s luminous tan, It would radiate off her. You asked me to look for bikinis for smaller breasts and I thought I would give you some advice as I looked into this for you. So If you wanted to make your research more quicker and simpler keep in mind that if you see the product have the words `Fuller Bust` in then simple move away as it`s not the one for you. You also might find words that you have never heard of before...Such as Balconette bikini, Balconette bikinis are similar too push up bikinis and you should stay away from these as well as most come padded and often need bigger breasts to make the bikini look right. If you had smaller breasts and chose one of these things would look uneven and it would end up in either you wasting money or not getting what you want.
ASOS DESIGN metallic wetlook cross back high leg swimsuit in pink : £26. We forgot about this one...Oops. Inspired by the one she wore in the SOTME video this is a fun, glitzy, colourful, bubblegum pop swimsuit best suited for fun times in the pool. You will glitz in the sunlight and maybe attract a few more eyes then expected. Jade`s is sadly no longer available but their are many alternatives on the market.
Leigh
Boohoo Petite Eyelet Detail Plunge Swimsuit: £11.25. Have you seen this somewhere? Leigh wore a identical one back at Summertime Ball last year. Hers is now sold out, But luckily Boohoo have one in stock just for us. You can also buy it in orange
PrettyLittleThing SHAPE BLACK V NECK BUCKLE WAIST SWIMSUIT: £20. Last year whilst on holiday, Leigh wore a similar bikini to this one from Oh Polly. We call this style the `Scuba` style (I`m not making this up). With it`s sporty style It`s something that is sexy but sporty at the same time. It`s for someone like myself who doesn`t like bikinis or showing my body, But wants too wear a swimsuit and go swimming. You never know you could win a triathlon in this. This is also available in orange and green.
ASOS DESIGN mix and match crinkle high leg high waist bikini bottom: £14. There was a notable time when Leigh wore a bandeau bikini just like this one...She had her hair in plaits, sunglasses on and a beautiful tan and when I remember Leigh`s swimwear this one is one of the ones I remember most. A bandeau top is nothing to be scared of, People with bigger breasts certainly wouldn`t be able to wear this kind of top because it would all fall out. Also notice how high cut the thong is? Well we found another similar bikini brief that isnt that open and isnt that high cut but is still high waisted. Have a look here. Of course you just don`t have to get the bikini in black, You can also buy it in red, Green, Yellow, Orange and white
River Island triangle bikini top with embellished detail in black: £24. I did get to the point where I could find nothing more for Leigh, So I had another look and found something. I found she likes to wear bikinis that are bandaged underneath or taped. So I looked around and found this one from River Island. It is another style of bikini top, but because this one is straight down it means it gives plenty of space and again nothing will slip out.
Zara BANDEAU SWIMSUIT: £19.99 Yeah, I was fully at the end of the line here and couldn`t find nothing else. As seen before she likes wearing swimsuits that have the style of a bandeau. So I found this plain and simple bandeau swimsuit from Zara. How cool would this look with some braids, some lace up platform sandals, a beige kimono and a sun kissed tan?
Perrie
PrettyLittleThing crop bikini in porcelain print: £14. This bikini is inspired from one Perrie wore last year, When Perrie wore the white floral bikini last year everyone went into overdrive and wanted one. This bikini is the same style (If not it isnt), It`s got that top which to me resembles a sports bra, Which for people with smaller breasts is a huge thing, Not only does it keep everything in, but it makes you look slimmer and in line and also gives you boob coverage. I hope this makes sense by the way. Too top it off it`s in this gorgeous porcelain print, How gorgeous is it, makes me want to buy it.
PrettyLittleThing WHITE PLUNGE HIGH RISE BIKINI SET: £20. I think Perrie absolutely dazzles when she`s wearing a white swimsuit, It complements her skin tone and goes with her hair shade. I can just imagine Perrie in this bikini, Can you? I think this bikini would compliment someones body so much, I can`t speak highly of this bikini. Pair this with a black sarong and you will be swaggering onto the beach with your cocktail.
MissGuided white lemon print mix & match strappy bandeau bikini: £12/£12. I`ve noticed Perrie likes wearing prints in her swimsuits, So along came this jolly little number which goes with her hippie/boho style. You wouldn`t be leaving a sour taste in anyones mouth. Incase you don`t like lemons, We also have a orange to satisfy your taste. Orange print swimsuit, You can also get it as a bikini.
MissGuided neon orange crinkle scoop neck bikini: £12/£12. Inspired by her bikini she wore recently on Instagram stories. Again we have the sports bra bikini top with the high waisted briefs which sucks in your hips if you don`t like them. Peach to make the boys wink
H&M Swimsuit with smocking: £24.99. Ok, So I didn`t realise this was sold out already which is very annoying. But I struggled to find the last piece to the puzzle. Perrie is a fan of H&M swimwear, having previously worn some of their bikinis before and it goes along with her style. The bikini has a smock design at the top and the smock design is very favoured within the boho/hippy styles. This cute but classy little number would be one to stay in your wardrobe for a long time.
Accessorize tie front swimsuit in red: £30. We forgot to add this one when we was creating this post, We simply forgot it was in our favourites. Inspired by Perrie`s bodysuit when she graced the cover of the ASOS magazine along with the other three girls. Her one is from ASOS but is no longer available..However Accessorize has a identical one in stock in red. Same style, same taste.
Jesy
Boohoo Boutique Lace Up Front Tie Side Swimsuit: £15. Can you guess where this swimsuit is inspired from? If you take a look back at the SOTME video you will see in one of the shots Jesy wearing a a very similar swimsuit to this one. If I remember correctly hers was a bit more expensive and was a bit more daring lets say. This is a edgy but safe swimsuit, So if you didn`t want to be plain Jane then you can be happy Harry. Jesy teamed hers up with big black heavy platform boots which I don`t recommend. So if you teamed this with black lace up sandals, black sunnies and a pearly white smile i`m sure you could look just as good as she did.
PrettyLittleThing cami bikini top with contrast panel in pink and white: £12/£10. Jesy has actually worn this bikini before, She`s worn the top on a night out. But I don`t know if most of you realised the top can come in a range of colours including khaki and of course black and white.
New Look scoop swimsuit in black: £14.99. Jesy`s swimwear was hard to pin point since she doesn`t wear it a lot or we don`t get enough coverage of her in swimwear. But I thought back to her style and went for this simple and classic swimsuit from ASOS. Not everyone is confident in swimwear, Not everyone has the confidence of someone in a really bright bikini. So along came polly. Of course you got no worries about this swimsuit if you wanted to join your siblings in the pool and have fun on the obstacle courses and waves.
ASOS DESIGN recycled mix and match sleek triangle bikini in black: £8/£7. What I also noticed is that when Jesy wears swimwear, she wears neutral/plain colours such as black/white/Blue. ASOS do a lot of bikinis that are plain in colour but are also good for the people with smaller breasts.
ASOS DESIGN mix and match broderie rope detail triangle bikini top in white: £12 Of course you don`t have to stick with the traditional colours you can also venture out and find your find your fun side in orange
PrettyLittleThing NUDE & LEOPARD THREE TONED BIKINI: £12/£15. I struggled with the last one, Then I came across this bikini. Do you remember when I said some animal print bikinis can come across brassy and loud? This is a perfect example of keeping it classy, low and simple. You`ll be a Instagram star for sure as you sip your champagne and soak up the sun. You can team this with a long white kimono, a straw hat to keep the boys at bay and some lace up platform wooden sandals.
Finally, As I was talking about earlier about the high rise cuts in the bikini briefs, I did some extra looking around to combat this as not everyone is confident about showing off that much skin. So too combat this you don`t have too wear your jeans again. You can wear shorts, or a skirt or a dress over it. But we think it would be cuter to wear a longline sarong and guess what we did just that and have found multiple sarongs in a variety of colours and prices and styles for you. So enjoy.
