any pointers for writing fade? neon is my current fixation & i wanna write abt her bc i wanna get back into writing. fadeshock is rlly cute but idk fade all too well 🤍
lobe ur works sm
Oh, this is a fabulous question, I'm going to have a fantastic time answering this, thank you!
First, I want to make clear though that this is just my opinion and my take on Fade's character. You're welcome to write her how you like and if you disagree with my headcanons, that's okay! You're welcome to form your own.
Now, for my answer.
I think when writing Fade it's important to keep in mind that her driving force is loyalty. Almost everything she does is in service to someone she cares about - usually him - and she will pursue this service even to her own detriment.
She blackmailed the Protocol even though they would probably have killed her if she failed, and when they offered to help her and gave her information on how to further her search, she joined them. She throws herself so hard into her work it makes her seriously unwell at times, such as when she got so distressed and sleep-deprived that Brimstone needed to send her on a wellness vacation to Vietnam to recover.
Through her voicelines and additional lore (such as the audio recording of Cypher interrogating her) we can glean that her manner of speaking is informal and "masc". She calls people "abi" in the same way one might say "dude" or "bro". She's friendly with her teammates, offering them coffee and encouragement (and we also know she has a network of friends in the Protocol, with Clove's D&D club for example). She's arrogant and clearly recognises her own skills, but on top of that, we also know that she's heavily depressive, angry, and fearful. She's terrified of losing him, but we know she's beginning to believe he might be dead from when they didn't find him in the Hourglass cells. "You live until you're forgotten, right?"
When I'm writing her I tend to write from the perspective of a woman who's deeply afraid, but not for herself. She sees very little value in her own life, at least when she isn't using her life to serve. She's self-sacrificing and too easily puts herself in harms way if she believes it will protect those she loves, and when she's struggling she isolates herself. From the Vietnam situation, we've seen it takes other people reaching out for her to get the help she needs when things are dire, and when she didn't find him in Hourglass, she was very clearly upset but didn't ask for help, instead kind of solidifying in her resolve to continue the search without giving up on him.
When things are good, I think she's a pretty loving person. A lot of people depict her as edgy all the time but I think that's doing her a disservice, personally. She's depressed and self-sacrificing and I think without help she could very easily fall into dangerous patterns (I imagine she uses smoking, drinking, hookups with strangers etc to cope with how bad she feels).
That said though, she's a good person. She's warm with her teammates and has a sense of humour with them. She can be optimistic in dire situations, too, although likely this is just to avoid accepting the reality of him possibly being dead. I think when she loves someone, she does it in a way that needs communication to work, because she could otherwise love them in a way that could be smothering or overly possessive, but when she doesn't need to be permanently afraid, she'd be a great person to be in love with.
I imagine that love as a concept is very hard for her, now. This is a hc, but I imagine that after the pain of losing him and how close it's come to killing her a number of times now, she'd be terrified of loving people again. I think she'd push people away long before ever accepting she wants them, and it would take a lot of time for her to believe she deserves to love another, especially if she's falling in love before saving him. Loving someone is distraction, it's attention spent off of the trail of hunting him, but it's also shockingly vulnerable. It's putting her heart on the chopping block and hoping her partner won't cut it.
ugh, I love her. Apologies for this really long answer - I really, really love both Fade and Neon and I have a LOT to say about them both, and how they work together. I really enjoyed answering this, thank you so much for the question and I hope this can help a little!

YOUR SKY AND PIPIT COMIC MADE ME CRY
PIPIT NEEDS MORE RECOGNITION🫡
Best SS side character ong
HAPPY TEARS I HOPE???
But yeah! Pipit’s a favorite of mine haha! In my opinion, he’s the most interesting side character on Skyloft! By far! (Groose isn’t on Skyloft anymore so he doesn’t count!) He’s also one of the most underrated characters in any Zelda game.
• He’s an upperclassman at the Academy who actively stands up for Fledge and Link against Groose.
• He’s SO SUPPORTIVE. Every time you talk to him, he has something encouraging to say. He genuinely really cares about Link and Zelda and is one of the few people who believes in Link.
• He’s the only student at the Knight Academy who doesn’t live in a dorm.
• He lives at home, but you never see him there.
• The Worst Mother on Skyloft Award goes to Mallara! (Pipit’s mom). The reason Pipit’s never at home is because his home is a mess and his mother is the WORST.
• Mallara has really nice furniture and ceramics and stuff but it’s all messy. Pipit’s corner of the house is the only clean area, but his furniture is all worn down and scratched up. His blanket is patched. Everything he has is well used and mended.
• I kind of view that as a metaphor: Mallara has nice things but doesn’t care about them enough to take good care of them. She has an amazing son but doesn’t care enough about him to take care of him. Meanwhile, Pipit uses what he has, even if he doesn’t have much.
• ALSO he’s struggling financially. When you clean Mallara’s house, she gives you twenty rupees and tells you to say hello to Pipit for her. (There’s a reason she doesn’t say hello herself. There’s a reason Pipit doesn’t talk to her).
• If you clean her house enough times and then walk by it at night, you’ll hear Pipit yelling at her. I don’t know the exact quotes but he said something along the lines of “I gave you that money to buy bread and you spent it on a housekeeper! If you keep this up, I won’t be able to afford to go to the Academy next year!”
• Bro’s a full time student and also works the night watches at the Academy just to have the money to put food on the table and put himself through school. He gives some of this money to Mallara and she IMMEDIATELY turns around and spends it on Link.
• THAT’S A WHOLE OTHER THING. Mallara pays Link to clean her house because she’s too lazy to do it herself. She tells him to talk to Pipit because she’s too lazy to do it herself. She expects Link to be her housekeeper and her messenger because she’s not willing to put the work in and do the bare minimum for her home or for her son.
• This whole time I’ve been calling it her house. But the game calls it Pipit’s house. PLEASE did he buy the house too?? So that his mother could destroy it?? Crying.
• He has the sweetest little crush on Karane and the game gives you the option to tease him for it! I will always give the letter to Karane because it makes me happy to see him happy. He deserves it! “You like her?” Such a little brother response.
• He literally says something along the lines of “don’t I deserve to know true love?” about Karane. Like. This guy’s never experienced genuine love in his life. His mother sure isn’t giving it to him.
• Link and Pipit are 100% brothers and I’m writing a whole fic about how Link was adopted into that problematic family and what that means for Mallara and Pipit. Suffice to say, Link and Pip are quite close! For my au, Pipit is the first person to really and truly understand Sky since he knows Link so well (literally grew up in the same house) but also knows Aepon! (Took care of the Loftwing while Link was away on his adventure). In many cases, he understands Sky better than Zelda does. Better than Sky knows himself! There will definitely be more Pipit content from me because he DESERVES SOME LOVE.

Who do you miss the most?
Tumblr media
" ... my father. " The answer likely doesn't come as a surprise; Pipit has all and more that he needs up here in Skyloft, except for the man who had gone missing so many years ago. " I hope wherever he is, he's... alright. "

2. Do you read/reread your own fics?
i...do....unfortunately
i'm generally a bad fic reader so i dont do it TOO often but yeah, i do go back and read/skim my stuff. sometimes for research (imagery used, phrasing choice, etc.) but sometimes just because.
10. Is there a fic that got a different response than you were expecting?
tbh? the mechanic au. chassis is literally fifty thousand words and it racked up so many hits in the first, like, month?? hello?? i was being annoying about a niche au idea that came to me in like...february and SO many people read it? the hit count is just outside my top 5?!?!?!?! that shit is crazy man

Soulmates in the Sky
Another commission!
They asked for the similar Soulmate plot I had for Warrior but make it Sky. this includes beginning context so for the majority/ entirety of the fic, Sky is referred to as Link.
Masterlist
Content under the cut!
When Link was little, he always wondered what it would mean to have a soulmate. Everyone on Skyloft had one. Or at least they had the idea that they had one.
Link didn’t understand it, but he hoped he would have one. There was a time for everyone to go see their soulmate. It was a cave, they said. It was wonderful, they said. It was life changing, they said. Link couldn’t wait for his turn.
As life continued on, Link grew and studied and found his loftwing. It wasn’t long after flying lessons began that the instructor had asked the young student to listen carefully.
They would be going to Souls Cove.
Link could hardly contain the way his little heart swelled up in anticipation.
Zelda didn’t seem to care as much as he did, but he hoped they would be nice and pretty and would love to go flying with him.
“Listen up!” The instructor called them to attention. “You fly behind me and stay above the line of flight. We’re going to go around the main island and then we’ll take a right and go under the torrent. Any questions?”
Link couldn’t stop himself. He raised his hand. “How do we know if we have a soulmate once we get there?”
The instructor smiled kindly. It wasn’t a secret that soulmates were well known among Skyloftians, but the manner of which they were found was kept under tight lock. It was something no one wanted to spoil.
But today was the day they would learn, so there was little harm in explaining.
The instructor pointed in the direction in which they would travel and looked into the distance. “Once there, each of you will take turns entering the cave. You will see and hear your soulmate for the very first time- although it will only be reflections. There would be a magic stone that would connect you to them that whispers their inner thoughts towards you. You collect that and keep it safe.”
“So they’re not actually there?” Zelda tilted her head. “Why bother going then?”
“To learn who they are.”
Link raised his hand again, a small yet terrifying thought entering into his mind. “What if we don’t see anyone?”
The instructor paused, thinking over his words. “Well…most of the time it means that you already know who they are. But you can still collect the stone.”
Link calmed himself down. That’s fine then. Even better if he already met them!
“But what if there’s no stone?” Pipit asked next. He was going to skip ahead next year, Link was sure of it. So Link waited for the answer to his question. If Pipit was smart enough to skip a year, then there was surely a good point to his question. Besides, Link also wanted to know the answer.
The instructor looked nervous then. “There’s never been a case where there was no stone. So I’m afraid I can’t answer that question.”
Multiple students didn’t bother to hide their disappointment.
“Any other questions?”
Pipt raised his hand once more. “What if we don’t hear anything from the stone?”
The instructor didn’t look amused. They deadpan and point to the edge of the island. “Impossible. We’ll head out. Follow me and stay close.”
They run and leap off of the edge of the island. Link is quick to do the same.
He can hear his classmates follow soon after and he whistles
His loftwing comes up soon after, picking him up in what already is practiced momentum. Link has to keep an eye out for the professor- in order to keep their flying skills in check, they don’t tell the professors to wait for the students. The students have to catch up on their own or make their way back to the main island to be collected or redirected and start over.
Link takes to the air like a fish takes to water. This is where he belongs.
He lands next to the instructor with practiced ease tucking into a roll and stopping in a sitting position. The instructor seemed mildly amused at his entrance as he turned to expect the other students to arrive.
“Link, you go first.” The instructor gestured to the cave. “It’s only fair you’ve arrived first. Besides, I have to wait for the other students.”
Link jumps to his feet, his heart in his throat as he looks towards the entrance of the cave. Was this it? Was it truly so simple? The cave entrance itself was simple and unassuming. Yet it held the air of destiny and it’s heavy in Link’s chest.
Link nods, taking the first steps into the cave. It’s quiet and there’s the sound of dripping water somewhere beyond him.
“Why are you so pretty?” A new voice says. They sound annoyed and irritated. “Don’t you know you make it hard to think? Do you have to be this distracting?”
Link pauses. He’s not sure if he should be offended or if he should take it as a compliment. What a strange thing to be annoyed about. At least they like the way he looks.
Link walks further into the cove. He can vaguely hear the other students arriving just beyond the entrance, but the sounds of the cave seem to muffle their outcries and rough housing.
“H-hey… I didn’t mean it like that.” The voice sounds bashful now. Link looks around a stalagmite and into the crystal reflection on the wall. The reflection is not his own- but rather his soulmates. It’s suddenly hard to breathe. He’s never seen anyone like them. On one hand, he’s instantly enamored but on the other….he’s seen everyone on Skyloft. And he’s never seen them before. What does that mean?
“Link!” The instructor calls into the cave- ripping Link’s attention away from the reflection. “Not to ruin the moment….but the others have arrived. They need their turns before we have to head back. You can come back now that you know where it is, but you need to finish up.”
Link runs further in, just so he doesn’t miss anything else. Multiple iterations of reflections pass him. None of which belong to him. They’re from different moments of his soulmate's life. Each memory of his soulmate passes before him- letting him know about them before he’s ever actually met them. He sees glimpses into their childhood- up until he sees them as his age.
He stops at a pedestal of sorts. It’s a broken off stalagmite, protruding from the floor of the cave, but it’s the only one like that. The clearing around it seems purposeful. It looks significant.
There’s a smooth stone sitting in the middle of it.
Something in Link tells him to reach for it, to take it and keep it. He doesn’t fight it.
“I’ll always be on your team.” His soulmate tells him. The stone feels warm. Feeling giddy and ready to take on the world with a new purpose, Link rushes back out of the cave, not willing to risk himself getting in trouble. If the instructor was honest, then Link would certainly find himself coming back here. He doesn’t know where they are, but he can already tell that he’d do anything for them.
He can’t wait to meet them.
***
Zelda gets taken two years later.
When she had come out of Souls Cove, she had looked as neutral as she could. Link had tried to ask questions about what she saw- or didn’t see- but she didn’t seem willing to talk about it. At the time Link had thought it was strange. They were best friends. She was always willing to talk to him.
But it hadn’t ever really mattered. Link would have gone to the edge of the earth and beyond for her. And then he had to prove it.
During his journey he had learned much, seen more than he could imagine, heard more than he was willing to believe. If there was a whole new world to discover, Link was certain that you were there, waiting for him. Even if you most likely didn’t know who he was.
But it’s fine, Link tells himself. He’s young. There’s peace on earth.
He finishes his schooling and moves to the surface ready to begin the next chapter of his life. And to look for his soulmate. Surely they’re somewhere.
***
Years pass and Link finds a strange portal. It reeks of malice. He’s familiar with the smell and he’s emboldened by the energy.
Something is trying to tear apart his home once more. He’s not entirely sure if he can bring back the Master Sword- but that’s not going to stop him from protecting everyone just like he did in the past.
He tells Zelda and Groose that he’s going on a journey again. He’s not sure when he’s going to be back. Link tells them about the portal and to watch for the people he’s about to leave behind. Zelda cries and Groose promises to do his best as he is incapable of doing anything less.
He smiles and packs up his best gear, taking as much as he can before he reaches the edge of the portal. He hopes the settlement remembers to steer clear of it. Who knows what came out of it? He’s certainly going to find out.
Somewhere in the back of his mind, Link remembers his soulmate and how he has yet to find them among the expanse of the surface. But he steels his nerves. If the world is destroyed, there wouldn't be any soulmate to continue finding. They probably don’t even know of the issue.
With their safety in mind, Link doesn’t have it in himself to look back.
***
Link finds a group of heroes. Interestingly, they all share the same name, so they opt for nicknames or titles. They call him Sky. This group, these boys all protect the surface time and time again because of his failure to shut up Demise in the first place. Most are younger than him. Only a select few are older. Many took the blade before they were teenagers- although Link can’t tell who did what. All he gathered was that the average age of taking up the blade is 11. But he has a suspicion that a few of the members were even younger.
It makes him sick.
Still, they have earned his trust and they all have a common goal. Fi seems to like them as well- although he’s not sure how they managed to bring the Master Sword on the journey. They let him carry her the most and for that he is grateful. It feels comforting, although he’s also learned that he perhaps is the only one to think that way.
And then, while he travels, when he least expects it. You’re thrown into the mix up.
You were running from monsters, screaming at first before you turned around grabbed a stick and started fighting back as hard as you could.
Link had to remind himself to stop staring once they were patching you up. As you explained your story, Link heard none of it. He took in your every detail, your voice, your clothes. You’ve grown just as much as he has since that first day in Souls Cove.
His fingers trace over the little stone he’s collected on that day. He’s never let it be found missing from his person. He carries it everywhere, just to hear you. But now it’s gone silent. Why would it speak? You’re right here in front of him.
You’re battered and bruised, but it appears that your ego had taken most of the blow. You seem annoyed with yourself as you get more passionate in complaining about the situation you’ve found yourself in.
Someone elbows him, hard. “Close your mouth. You’ll start drooling.”
Link wipes his chin just in case and shuts his mouth with an audible click. He turns to the young man next to him. Blond like most of them and strong hearted. They ended up calling him The Captain for his previous war experience. “I’m not drooling.”
“I know.” He says with a knowing glint in his eyes. “But we don’t need you starting. It’s a miracle they haven’t caught you yet. You suck at being subtle. Are you even trying?”
Link’s face warms. Of course he wasn’t trying. It didn’t even occur to him. “Shut up.”
“Any reason they’ve caught your attention?” The Captain asks, keeping that annoying, knowing smirk on his face. “You haven’t stopped staring since they showed up.”
Link coughs. He hasn’t disclosed to any of them about his soulmate. It didn’t take a genius to realize that they don’t have the same concept. It’s hard to reach Souls Cove directly from the surface anyway. And as much as it pains Link to realize it, he’s embarrassed to share his very common truth.
“They’re the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen in my life.” He admits softly.
His admission takes The Captain by surprise- his teasing mode only marginally dashed. But then it returns. “Then go say hello.”
“What!? No.” Link shuts it down. How on earth is he going to do that? Is he supposed to go up to you and say “hello, my name is Link and I’m your soulmate. I’ve been in love with you since I was fifteen and I know what your favorite childhood toy is, what your dream job is and your happiest memory.” Yeah, right. You don’t know how he is. He’d ruin everything before it even starts.
“Why not? It’s easy.” The Captain begins to push him forward.
“No” Link tries to dig his feet into the ground. “No. No! Warrior!”
His yelling starts to gather some attention from the others. The one they call The Veteran raises an eyebrow and crosses his arms. “What are you doing to Sky? Hasn’t he been spellbound enough by them?”
“If he’s going to stare, he might as well introduce himself.” Warrior adds with no shame in his voice. “I’m just giving him the push he needs.”
“Is that so?” The Vet starts stalking towards the two of them. Sky can feel his impending doom descend upon him.
“Legend, not you too!” He begs.
It’s futile. The two of them push and borderline carry him to where you are and plop unceremoniously in front of you. His footing is weird and he leans a little closer into your personal space than he’d like to and he overcompensates by throwing himself backwards, nearly tripping over Wolfie in the process.
You see everything. Naturally.
Link coughs and rights himself as fast as he can. He makes eye contact and freezes.
You freeze too.
Your eyes widen slightly and your jaw drops just enough to make your gaze as innocent and shocked as possible. Link thinks he sees your cheeks darken but perhaps he is projecting. His face is on fire as it is. The first time he gets to see you in full color, in person, in the flesh and he makes a total idiot out of himself.
He sticks his hand out. “Hi. My name is Link…”
They stare at him just as, if not, more so intently than he was staring at them. The awkward silence stretches on. They don’t react.
Link can feel himself growing more self conscious by the second. Was this how he wanted it to go? No. Was he given much of a choice? Also no.
Thankfully after another pregnant pause they also take his hand. It hangs loosely and limply, almost like a dead fish. It’s not something that Link wants to equivocate it with- but once the idea was in his head he found that he couldn’t fully get rid of it. He shakes it anyway.
“I’m sorry.” Link says and he realizes belatedly that he has no idea where he’s going with this. Think of something. Quick! “...I don’t think I caught your name.”
You blush and it takes his breath away.
He’s never been overly fond of the color red- even if it matches his loftwing but this? This is absolutely lovely. It’s the most perfect color for you. Link can’t think of anything else that would add to just how perfect you appear in his eyes.
You say your name and Link repeats it just as softly as you say it. It’s just as lovely to hear as it is to have it roll off of his tongue. Link smiles and shakes your hand, holding it gently within his grasp. “It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
You shy away curling in on yourself. At first he thinks that you’re afraid of him or that he’s done something wrong to make you uncomfortable- which is more than well deserved, a voice tells him in the back of his head. But instead you smile.
“Link…” You say his name at last. His heart begins pounding erratically. He can feel his smile widen as his eyes brighten.
Someone coughs from behind him and he’s doused with the cold reality that you’re not alone.
“We’re all named Link to be honest.” Four adds with a grin. “But we all have nicknames. Mine is Four or the Blacksmith or Smithy. I respond to all of them. This one right here is called Sky.”
Four smacks his side with the back of his hand.
Link loses his nerve and steps aside. His eyes still follow you even though others have taken over the conversation. By the looks of it, you’re going to be traveling with them since you’ve been dragged along for the adventure.
It makes sense now that he thinks about it. If hadn’t joined this cause, this group, he would have never met you.
He’s been waiting this whole life for this opportunity. He knows that you don’t know him but he can get to know you, be your friend.
And maybe you’ll love him too someday.

Chapter 14 - Surprising Truth
“Ok, I got the keys, Pipit,” Link spoke into the headset that he’d grabbed from his apartment along with Zelda’s keys and his weapon holster. He awkwardly fumbled with his fur jacket to buckle the holster around his waist, all while running up the stairs. He had ripped the hat and the mask off but there hadn’t been time to change into his usual armor. If this incident ended up being more than a minor inconvenience, he would ultimately have to admit that he’d blown off his duty. Maybe he would get away with everyone thinking that the fur jacket was part of his Hero-role, but the ice was very thin.
He jumped the last few steps, half hauling himself onto the landing by the handrail, and slid around the corner. He heard the shriek seconds before the collision but he couldn't stop his momentum.
“Link, what are you doing?” Pipit squawked through the headpiece but Link was too preoccupied to answer.
He had run someone over. Blinking, he scrambled back, offering his hand on pure instinct to the poor person he'd crashed into.
They didn't move and Link took a second look. Oh shit!
“Pipit? Uh, I, uh, found her.”

hii pipit! for the ask game
8. ♻️A scrapped idea for your current WIP
for my cardcaptor alex/magical cat charles work """"in progress""" (😭)... i have a very self-indulgent coda in my brain where they adopt a bunch of kittens....... it will never be part of the main story (if i ever actually... finish... it....) because it really is just self-indulgent silliness, but some notes:
charles and alex find a box of kittens at the side of the road... obviously it is raining and the poor things are meowing so sadly that they have to take them back to alex's apartment!!!
alex is trying to be rational about how they can't keep them (small apartment, single income family--)
charles tells alex very seriously that he is going to start looking for jobs so they can keep their little kittens and a million thoughts go racing through alex's head about charles's legal status and lack of work history as a centuries old magical being
anyway of course they keep the kittens. they make it work. alex teaches charles how to read alex's budgeting spreadsheet. charles only accidentally deletes the whole thing once (thank god for revision history)
before this (in the main story), charles used to be a relatively small cat in his feline form, but now that he has to take care of a bunch of little kittens, his cat form suddenly grows bigger
alex is flabbergasted the first time he sees cat!charles curled up around the little baby kittens.
all this time charles could have been a bigger size and he chose to be a tiny little cat constantly meowing at alex to help pick him up and carry him around?????
charles explains very seriously that he has to be big now!! [glee voice] he is a mother!!
also he adds, somewhat absentmindedly, before it was better to be small because it was good for making speedy escapes & to hide from bad people, but now it's okay. he goes back to grooming the little baby kittens, unaware of how alex is staring at him with his heart uncomfortably in his throat
anyway now alex doesn't complain when charles sits on his chest in his bigger cat form. or at least. he only complains a little bit (alex is incapable of not talking), but his hand always sneaks up to pet charles's soft fur
charles also starts making friends with the young neighborhood mothers (of human children) at the park while asking for advice on being a new parent (of small kittens) and he doesn't realize how odd some of his answers are
so now there is a small cadre of neighborhood ladies who think alex is like. a deadbeat dad.
one day alex is going for his morning run and as he passes the playground he feels a row of death glares aimed at him...
alex doesn't understand what is going on... he's a good neighbor... he always sorts his recycling properly... why is he suddenly being treated as public enemy number one...
he tries to tell charles about what's happening and charles is also very confused bc the ladies at the park are very nice, alex!!
this is all very silly asdfkljslfjl

Happy STS!
What is the story of some of your characters scars, and how do they feel about them?
If your character doesn't have any scars, how WOULD they feel about them? Can they scar or do they have something about them that prevents scarring?
Hey, happy belated STS!
Answering for Nightjar WIP because everyone has scars there and most of them are interesting :)
Nightjar herself is covered in scars from fighting cursed creatures and her own cursebreaking backfiring. Some come from the claws and teeth of cursed creatures, others come from swords, arrows, broken glass and splintered wood. Sometimes she gets burnt by fire, other time acid. She mostly doesn't care about the scars, the first few she got on her face bothered her when she was younger, but after over a decade of getting at least one new scar for every monster fought and curse broken, she doesn't even really see them any more. They do make her almost unrecognisable to those who knew her before her cursebreaking days, but that's a them problem for the most part. The larger ones, and the ones that keloided, sometimes ache and itch, but usually Nightjar is aching from travelling and fighting anyway, so that doesn't bother her much either.
Siskin has one, large burn scar on the right side of her body that stretches from her upper forearm all the way to her face where it cradles her chin and cheek. This happened during a cursebreaking gone wrong, when one of Nightjar's alchemical bombs exploded near to Siskin and Pipit. Pipit bore the brunt of the explosion which caused her severe hearing loss, but Siskin got severe chemical burns while trying to protect Pipit. The way the scar looks doesn't bother Siskin, though it still needs moisturising regularly and sometimes does tug and itch. However, it bothers Nightjar a lot. She blames herself for injuring her wife and child, and it still causes a rift between Nightjar and Siskin whenever Nightjar gets too introspective and remorseful about it.

just saw the 1st warriors game post and i cant believe it generated the name "lightfall" thats SO gorgeous??? "palepuddle"???? anyway im cvurious abt what names like prefixes n suffixes ur using!!
My favourite name that got randomly generated is Bluebranch ☺️ so pretty that I might have to steal it to make an oc with! To answer your question, currently, Warriors: Generations uses a traditional naming system*. The player will be able to name cats or rename them, but the game will also randomly generate a name for some. When that happens, their prefix will be selected depending on the cat's appearance, and their suffix will be randomly selected. The github repository (raw code) of the game is linked on that post, so if you'd like, you can go poking around to see what names I'm using yourself! But here's a list of every prefix and suffix currently available in the game. Suffixes are limited (the classic traditional naming system usually has a very limited amount), so at some point I would like to add in some more, but it's not really a huge priority at the moment.
*Traditional naming system, for those who may not be aware, is a method of naming warriors that aims to follow more in line to the first arc books. If you'd like to learn more, I would highly recommend reading ailuronymy's blog.

F1 Hallmark Fest: Day 6
Tumblr media
On the sixth day of Hallmark, my true love gave to me...
a christmas reel by @pipiteer / pipwrites
Pierre/Charles | [T] | 5.7k
When his girlfriend had first told him she wasn’t coming with him anymore to Nicolas’s wedding, Pierre had been confused, worried even that something urgent had happened—a death in the family, perhaps. It had only been when she had failed to answer, unusually hesitant, that it had become clear to him that there was nothing wrong—except them. It’s not just this, she had said, unusually somber, and Pierre had understood. So Pierre had come home the night before with just a single suitcase and a long garment bag holding his best suit.

You Make Me Happy by @pitstopwontstop / Lavender455
Daniel/George | [T] | 9.1k
“George, slow down man! You’re gonna get us in a ditch!” “I thought you brought me here so that I could enjoy being free to do anything.” “Driving like a mad man was not part of the plan.” Suddenly, the car starts slowing down and George barely has time to park it to the side of the road before smoke starts coming off the bonnet. “Blimey, what did I do?”

I’m wondering if any of the chain members have any dietary restrictions and if so how do they deal with food while travelling I’d imagine some wouldn’t exactly need to eat ( wars, wild and time) but also most of the other might need to have different diets then the typical hylian. ( honestly only twilight and maybe four might be the only with a more typical diet)
This is a great question, and one that I’ve thought about at length. Sorry I took so long to respond, I’m so incredibly busy with my classes! I hope this answer is sufficient haha! (Under the cut because long)
Wild: Surprisingly, he does need to eat! Just, not for the reasons that you or I do. Wild does not feel hungry. His body does not consume energy (it’s not… physical, really). But his magic is based in the natural world, so if he’s hurt, he must strengthen bonds to nature. The easiest way to do this is to ingest things that come from nature. So like… any food ever. He gets hurt a lot (the little chaos gremlin) so he tends to eat a lot! And he may be a silly little guy, but he has standards. He’s an excellent cook, surprisingly.
Wars: Doesn’t eat. Can’t eat. Is a sword.
Time: Time doesn’t need to eat, but after spending his life as a mortal, it’s a pretty tough habit to break! He’s nostalgic about food, almost. While he doesn’t feel hungry, he doesn’t typically feel full, either. So eating won’t make him sick or anything. If he smells something tasty, he’d ask for a serving! Other than that, he doesn’t have any dietary restrictions.
Hyrule: Vegetarían! And he LOVES sweet things. He fills up on berries and then will go days without eating again- it doesn’t take much to sustain his little body. (Like Wild, he’s not exactly physical, either. Most of his body mass is just magic). Sugar water? His favorite. Jelly? He loves. He’s such a little guy, I love him.
Sky: Pescatarian! As Link, he was vegetarian, but Aepon really liked fish. To this day, Sky’s favorite meal is pumpkin and fish soup, which is a weird combination. But Pipit made it for him once and it’s been his favorite ever since! (A combination of Link and Aepon’s favorites). He’s not against eating meat but his body isn’t really equipped to handle it. Same with dairy- but no one knew that until they gave him a bunch of milk after hearing that he has fragile bones. He is morally against eating eggs.
Legend: He has to absolutely douse all of his meals with a bunch of salt or he’ll die, but he’s vibing. He prefers seafood, but he’s been living on land (and has traveled enough) to be able to stomach the plants that grow above water. He has even developed a preference for certain meats. He’ll take whatever he’s given, usually, and add his own salt haha.
Ravio: Literally the exact same as Legend. (Except he’s been neglecting the salt thing for pretty much his whole life. Someone help him, he’s not doing well).
Wind: Literally the exact same as Legend and Ravio, except he doesn’t need all the salt supplementation… at least not nearly to the same extent.
Four: Eats a typical diet! Nothing really to say here. Typical three meals a day, meat and vegetables and dairy and all that. Four will mix their food before eating, which the others might find odd. They prefer to have everything in every bite. Soups are good haha!
Twilight: Typical diet. He eats meat and vegetables and dairy and all that jazz. Lots of protein. He eats… more than you’d expect, and that’s because he has different forms to maintain. It doesn’t cost him anything to shift- it takes no energy- but if he only eats enough for a Hylian, he won’t be able to last long as a wolf or another large animal.
This post might offer some more insight!

✏️, 🖊, 🌝, 🍰?
✏️ Do you write every day? HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHA.... no :V I've been trying to write at least for 1 hr each day, but that hasn't been hapening ;w; 🖊 Post a snippet from a current WIP. Beware!
“Home! I need to get home and help look for Sidon!”
“I know that, Link, but you can’t just go and search for him!” The blond chuffed at such a ridiculous statement. Of course he could just go and search for him. He could already be doing that if Pipit would just let him! He turned away from the brunet, as if to prove a point, and managed to take only a couple of steps before he felt Pipit’s hands hold him in place once again. “Link you can’t!”
“I can and I will!”
“No, you can’t! We’re on duty, Link. You’ll be a deserter! A traitor!”
“I don’t care!” Link felt the hands on his arm release him in an instant and, just as he thought the brunet had finally understood his urgency to leave, a sharp, burning pain coming from his scalp morphed his angry roar into a pitiful yelp. The hand grasping at the base of his ponytail pulled his head backwards with such strength that he could only throw his head back and follow its movement until his gravity center shifted and he found himself falling backwards against the wooden floor.
“Well, I do, and you should, too!” Pipit shouted from above. His enraged face put an immediate end to whatever stream of colourful language was about to come out from the blond’s mouth. Link was not used to seeing Pipit with such an expression, and by the looks of it, he was about to learn not to summon it again any time soon. “ A deserter, Link! Do you even understand what that means?! Is your fish-brain big enough to comprehend the meaning of it?! You’ll get court-martialed and probably imprisoned, since there is nobody here who can say you were being forced to leave your post! And even if I were to speak for you, what am I gonna say?! ‘Please, Your Highness, have mercy on this idiot. He suffered from a stroke.’?! You’d still get banished from Hyrule, at the very least! And where are you gonna go after that? You can’t go back into Zora’s Domain, so what’s your plan? Run away for the rest of your life, hoping to not be captured while trying to survive by eating nuts and berries like a squirrel? Go live up the volcano with the Gorons? Dress in fucking drag and get lost in the desert?!”
“I-I just-”
“No! You can’t possibly think you can ask me to just sit down and watch you do this. You. Just. Can’t!” Pipit stomped his boots against the dock, so close to the blond’s head, Link found himself flinching every time the sole made contact with the creaking wood. Blue eyes braved taking a look while the brunet struggled to catch his breath after the sudden outburst. He saw Pipit bit his lip and press a thumb and an index against his eyes, the fingers pulling on his sin as he dragged his whole hand against the side of his face. A deep groan left him, his usually energetic voice sounded as if he had aged ten years in the last ten minutes. “You can’t ask me to let you do this to yourself. You can’t…I hate nuts…I look awful in drag…” 🌝 Who is one character you haven’t yet written for that you would like to? To ot duplicate my answer, this tim I'll saaaaaaaaaaaaaaay... Gildan. I know he's an oc, but... I need to write him as an actual talking character. I NEED IT! 🍰 Name one of your fave comfort fics (doesn’t have to be your all time fave). These Tasks Three by @only-by-the-stars ! It gives me happy feels!

" Good boy " for Pipit (from Link, of course 🤍)
Self Explanatory - [ ACCEPTING ] ;;
Tumblr media
" ... s-sorry, what was that? " Despite his freckles being a normally PROMINENT feature on his face, they are overshadowed, and swiftly, by the fluster that soon settles 'pon his cheeks. The star student is staring at Link as if the hero has grown a second or third head, and all Pipit can do, after several seconds of awkward staring and pregnant silence, is cover his face with a hand and look away. " Y-You sound like my mother... jeeze... " Yet the effect is vastly and noticeably DIFFERENT for reasons Pipit cannot quite put into words, despite all his studying and wealth of knowledge.

(Yeah, I wrote a post SkSw angst oneshot...ENJOY!)
****
"Link? Link, did you hear me?"
"What? I'm sorry, I didn't hear what you said."
"I ask if next Sunday will be good?"
"Good for what?"
"For our baby shower, sleepyhead!"
Link noticed Zelda patting her baby bump, which had recently started to show. They've been putting together plans for a baby shower party for the past several days. Something that Zelda had been very excited about.
A flush grew on Link's face, embarrassed that he had not been paying attention to that. "Sunday is good!"
"Wonderful! It would be perfect for Father to come since that's his day off." Zelda wrote on a notepad. Not before she gave Link a concerned look. "Are you okay, Link?"
Link nodded his head. "Why would you ask?"
"You seemed distant today. You like to daydream but always had a time and/or place for that. You've been eager about the baby shower too. Are you sure you're alright, honey? Zelda holds his hand. "You know you can tell me anything."
Link opened his mouth to say something but a familiar instinct forced him to stop.
"She can't know. You know it would devastate her if you told her the truth."
"Link?" Zelda called out to her husband again, her concern lingering in her eyes.
He kisses her cheek. "Just having one of those days. Nothing to worry about."
Zelda seemed to accept that answer. She knows what he meant by that. There were days when she was out of it. Probably reflecting the time of their fateful quest.
"If you say so, but if something is troubling you, let me know so I can help."
"I promise, Zel."
"Good. Now try to stay focused. This is your baby too, you know."
"I know that. I helped make it."
Zelda groaned and playfully rolled her eyes. Link could only chuckle at her reaction. "After all these years, you're still such a shithead."
"You married this shithead."
"Don't rub it in." Zelda lightly punched his shoulder. "Now knock it off and focus!"
"Alright, alright. I'll be an adult."
"Good, now then."
They resumed talking about plans for their upcoming baby shower. They wrote out invitations for their loved ones. Well, Zelda did. Link tried, but he never was good with writing. Zelda was better at the subject of field. After that was taken care of, they gave the invitations for their Loftwings to deliver, with Link's bird giving them to their friends that lived in their settlement, while Zelda's bird delivered to those who remained at Skyloft.
"I can't wait for our baby shower." Zelda beamed while she and Link watched their birds fly off with the letter. "All of our family & friends will give out great gifts for our baby. I know Karane is going to make a lot of knitted stuffed animals. Probably has some extras from the ones she created throughout her pregnancy. Who knew maternity leave would give her a spark. Orielle told me that Fledge may be sewing something up. He has always knack for sewing amazing things like that pouch he made for you, Link. I hope Groose doesn't try to make us a 'mini Groosenator' like he did at Karane & Pipit's baby shower. I swear I thought Karane would pummel him right there, and I wouldn't blame her. It looked so dangerous!"
Link gave a small smile as he listened to his soulmate talk with such excitement. Despite being Hylia reborn, it hasn't gotten rid of her bubbly personality that Link adored so much.
As much as he tries to listen to Zelda talk, Link finds himself tuning out her words again. Not because Zelda was boring him. Far from it. He, too, was excited about the baby shower. Link always loved to hear his wife talk in general.
Link should feel happy. There were many reasons why that is. So much had changed since their fateful quest that saved their world.
He and Zelda had built a life together on The Surface with their respective Loftwings. They were also part-time Knights, both for the sky & land. With aid from the Sheikah Tribe, they had created a settlement down here. And they weren't alone.
Many of their friends have settled down here along with them. Pipit & Karane, now official knights like Link & Zelda, have built the village. The couple also got married and are expecting their first child next month. Fledge, after many months of rigorous training, finally achieved knighthood and moved down to The Surface alongside Orielle, with whom he had recently tied the knot. And Groose, a former Grade-A Asshole, has turned around his life the most. Since the quest, he had become a great knight, been a big help in building their community, and even married the Sheikah Chief's granddaughter. A sweet girl who did not judge him for his past. Most of all, he had become Link & Zelda's most prominent supporter and most loyal friend. Big enough that Zelda asked him to be her baby's godfather.
Life was good for Link, and he knew that. After what they had been through a few years back, he and Zelda deserve such a good life.
However…
On certain days, one factor brings a damper to his happy life.
"My hate…never perishes. It is born anew in a cycle with no end! I will rise again! Those like you. Those who share the blood of the Goddess and the spirit of the Hero…They are eternally bound to this curse. An incarnation of my hatred shall ever follow your kind, dooming them to wander a blood-soaked sea of darkness for all time!"
Demise's final words sang inside Link's mind on these particular days. Those last words of The Demon King haunt him. Words that he never shared with anyone.
Not even with Zelda.
When everything had calmed down after the battle with Demise, Link wanted to tell Zelda what Demise had said. He was Hylia's mortal enemy. Zelda had every right to know.
Yet…seeing how happy Zelda was that Demise was gone. Link never forgot the sounds of Zelda crying with relief that Demise had been vanquished. The weight of the world and her duty from her days as Hylia were finally off her chest. To her, the battle she had spent two lifetimes fighting was over. No way Link could ever damper her happiness. He knew Zelda was tired of the fighting. All he ever wanted was to see his friend, the love of his life, happy. She earned a life of peace.
And so he decided never to tell her about Demise's Curse.
Most days, it was hard to carry this secret. There was nothing more Link wanted to do than tell Zelda about the possible future in store for their family and those who come after them. But seeing how much Zelda had accomplished in the last few years brought her joy. Zelda had such high hopes for the future. She wanted to expand their settlement. Build new relations with the other inhabitants on The Surface. She wanted to rebuild what Demise had destroyed in her previous life as Hylia.
Link could see the joy it brought to her. He knew how passionate she was about her goals. The last thing Link wanted was to have it all crumble down. If he told Zelda about the curse, it would absolutely destroy her. Everything she is trying to build, what she had sacrificed, would've been for nothing. That is something Link will not allow. The Hero promised himself that he would do everything possible to ensure Zelda had a happy life.
That promise is the only thing holding him from not telling her about the curse. The only thing helping him cope was getting on with his life. Things such as helping their Surface village, spending time with friends, performing his duties as a knight, enjoying his married life with Zelda, and preparing himself to become a father kept him sane.
And who knows? Maybe Demise was lying. He was a literal King of Demons hellbent on death & destruction. Wouldn't it be reasonable to believe that Demise said those words just to get under Link's skin? Was Demise bluffing?
Frankly, Link was more willing to believe that possibility. Demise's existence was fading away when he uttered his final words. Could his power even carry on beyond that point? The Demon King had to be merely lying just so Link could spend the rest of his life with worry. If that were the case that it was successful on days like today.
"I love you, Link. I only want you to be happy." Zelda told him at one point
Link tried his best to keep his smile, "I know, dear. And…I do the same for you."
If Demise wasn't lying…Then Link was more than willing to carry this dirty little secret to the grave. If it meant seeing Zelda happy, it was a price he was ready to pay.
