You know, sometimes a family is you, your wife who sees ghosts, an optimistic scout leader who got shot in the neck with an arrow at a camp, a poet from the 1700s (maybe) whose poetry sucks, a astonishingly cheerful and oblivious woman who likes everyone, a very gay and very repressed WW2 officer, a decapitated head and body who are separate entities, a woman burned for witchcraft, a caveman with a vague grasp on the English language, a disgraced politician who did not die fully clothed and the old rather judgemental and traditional ghost of your wife's distant relative

And some ghosts who died of the plague who live in the basememt

And also a ghost pigeon

yknow….where tf were the plague ghosts before there was a basement. I mean i assume they were all just hanging out in the field with robin and then the basement came along and they were like “oh cool lets go there”

and the less reasonable option being they’re all just. Ghosts in the dirt and the basement was dug out and they’re like “oh wow i can see”

Alison: young woman somehow manages not to have a stress induced breakdown every hour after dealing with nine clingy, childlike ghosts and the restoration and upkeep of a literal mansion

Mike: malewife contemplates launching himself from a window in order to be able to communicate with his wife’s dead mates

Annie: lesbian indulges in her god given right to slag off men after being killed by bread

Barclay: rich white man turns out to be the nosiest man in Britain and is despised so much that even a disgraced Tory MP shudders at the thought of him

Plague Ghosts: iconic basement dwellers who cannot deal with being called smelly died due to the power of friendship

Lucy: basically just a massive bitch

Sophie: aforementioned badass Frenchwoman discovers conspiracy and plotting regicide as coping mechanisms to deal with loser husband

Havers: hot military man makes his CO fall head over heals in love with him by simply breathing and causes the audience to go insane because he said a name

I think what's funniest about the plague ghosts is that they most likely didn't die in the actual pit, like the pit was just where you threw the bodies right? Maybe some where still dying and put in prematurely (a la Monty Python sketch) but most would have died in their homes scattered on the site that's now the house. But they all decided "hey let's all group together to hang out on top of our bones, and stay there no matter what gets built over it."

I'm still not over the Plague Ghosts comparing Thomas to a flamingo in 4x01.

Like, how do they even know what flamingos are? Did Alison or Heather leave an ornithology book lying around in the basement, conveniently opened to a page about flamingos? Did one of them venture upstairs at some point and watch a documentary? Did one of the other ghosts tell them about them?

But most importantly: has anyone drawn Thomas as a flamingo yet?
