Clashing patterns and colors

I wore a Jimi Hendrix black graphic tee with a cargo green skirt. A mini skirt in windy 50 degree weather is always a good idea if you wear tights. Only tights I own are fishnets so I pulled the tights through the skirt and overlaid the skirt to include more pattern. My buffalo print wool jacket is perfect for this weather because it keeps me warm without being bulky and it adds a indie sleaze affect to my outfit. Accessorized with a fuzzy multicolored scarf to add more color on a gloomy day. Purple suede bag and tan suede boots are my staples this winter.

HANNAH'S "Who's Hottest?" LONG JOHN SILVER POLL
ROUND 1/7
okay I could add way more, and more obscure Long Johns if I made this a bracket, but I don’t want to lol. So it’s a KNOCK-OUT/ ELIMINATION style poll using only Long Johns from adaptations I’ve personally seen.
Just one day on each poll so we can play together for the week :)
Images with alt text below for reference

Welcome...
I sense you hunger for ever more... For worlds better and bigger. You crave expanded horizons, experience taken to new heights.
So did most whose stories lie within these annals.
So do I.
Let us stay a while together. While it may be futile to try to sate our ever-growing lust, the pursuit is always enticing...
My Posting
Older content: I will be posting my older content on this blog. However, I will be revising it as I go, so expect some changes (hopefully you think for the better). If there are any particular pieces you'd like to see, please let me know and I can move them up in the schedule (otherwise, it's by date of post)
Newer content: While I intend to post older content (especially since a fair amount was blocked), I still want to keep writing new stories.
Frequency: Some people have taken issue with me not posting as quickly as they'd like - and that's not something I'm willing to entertain again. Life is what it is, and the unexpected is around every corner. All I can say is sit back and enjoy what comes, when it comes (while you come, perhaps 😉).
Questions, Suggestions, & Messages:
I enjoy discussion, so go ahead if you have a question.
Feel free to suggest ideas for stories, or to forward images that would fit my writing and, if I like it, I may incorporate it into a post. I've received requests for these before, I want to clarify: No underage or non-con.
Messages are also welcome
Harassment will result in an instant block.
Using my writing:
Feel free to reblog or post my writing wherever you like.
These stories often contain open endings. I would be happy to see any of them continued further.

Fanfic Friday: Three of a Kind
Summary: Deep Space Planet Future Rock ‘n Ride Action! A Trigun 1998 and Biker Mice From Mars 1993 crossover. Vash juggles helping out strangers to Gunsmoke and thwarting Legato Bluesummers’ machinations to further Millions Knives’ plans for the planet and finds more family than he ever dreamed he deserved to have.
Ao3 Chapter Ten
Hannah had taken over the entire suite's bathroom to get dressed, so Vash and Chuck got dressed in their bedroom. She still hadn't come out, so Vash sat at the vanity mirror along the bedroom wall and double checked his chin and jaw. Shaved smooth. He dug his hair gel out of his bag, but it was plucked from his hand as he straightened his back.
He blinked at Hannah, scowling at him in the mirror. She was in a navy-blue dress with short sleeves and a red sash that matched his and Chuck's vests. "We're supposed to be hiding out and not being us," she said. "And you want to wear your hair the same spiky way?"
"Yes," Vash answered.
"No," Hannah said.
Chuck giggled from his seat on his upper bunk.
"That's how I wear my hair. I have worn it that way since Rem styled it like that," Vash explained patiently.
Chuck stopped giggling. "Who's Rem?"
"She took care of me after my mother couldn't. I'm still trying to make her proud." It would happen once everyone on this world understood love and peace. "So give me the hair gel." He held out his hand for the bottle.
"No." She tossed the hair gel bottle up onto Chuck's bunk and grabbed the comb on the vanity. "You can wear it spiky tomorrow. Be different tonight." Her orange hair that she normally kept braided was loose tonight.
"I should've warned you about her fix-it urges," Chuck said.
"You just wanted to give her another target. That's fine. I won't hold it against you." Vash held still while Hannah encouraged his hair to flop forward, but combed it out of his eyes. It kind of looked like he had just rolled out of bed, but a little neater. He frowned at the mirror.
Hannah patted his shoulder on the leather strap of the shoulder harness for his Colt. "You look good. Trust me, bro. And you can spike it tomorrow. Where's your jacket?" She spun around, flaring her skirt as she did so, found the black jacket still hanging in the closet, and passed it to him.

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ Ranking Ice Home
I hit the 7th book of Ice Home, and I want to start ranking them (the rankings will change as I make my way thru the series). I did a ranking for the og Ice Planet too. I love these books, they're so not serious. I read in the next book the couple resonances in a pterodactyl nest, and I don't know how else to explain it than these books are everything I've ever wanted to feel from reading fanfiction. Every time someone bashes these books, I think BAH.
(1) Veronica's Dragon (Veronica x Ashtar)—Yes, yes to all of this. Just yes. Ashtar my beloved.
(2) Lauren's Barbarian (Lauren x K'thar)—I love these two. It was like being taken back to Georgie and Vektal, but in a fun, inspired way.
(3) Mari's Mistake (Mari x T'chai)—This book was refreshing! Dixon went back to short and sweet with new elements added to the world. Plus Mari and T'chai's story is great, and the smut was better than it typically is.
(4) Penny's Protector—(Penny x S'bren) They were adorable and I loved their adventure together.
(5) Devi's Distraction (Devi x N'dek)—It was cool to see both N'Dek and Devi find a friendship and relationship where they felt understood at a fundamental level. Plus, I loved all the jealousy plots. I wish Dixon would have taken them further, but ik it's not really her style. I'm pining for the Bree-shit book fr tho. I want full on enemies to lovers for her and A'tam. All bc his dick is too big. They really are putting the entire tribe through it bc of A'tam's big ass dick. That's crazzzzy.
(6) Angie's Gladiator (Angie x Vordis)—Dixon is in the unique situation of bc they are aliens she can push the miscommunication trope pretty hard, and it technically still makes sense. I wasn't crazy about it, but I did love Vordis learning how to be his own person and Angie supporting him! And I thought it was sweet how Vordis and Thrand reconciled at the end. It was like putting a bow on top.
(7) Nadine's Champion (Nadine x Thrand)—This one is silly. Thrand's goofy, and the nest scene is goofy. It's fun, but a reminder of how unserious everything really is.
(8) Hannah's Hero—(Hannah x J'shel) Hannah was hard to like at first, but by the end I felt like I understood her. And she knew. She knew she was being difficult, but she was having a time, yk? J'shel is a sweetheart.
(9) Callie's Catastrophe—(Callie x M'tok) M'tok didn't learn a damn thing, but it's fine bc he has to endure Harry Potter references for the rest of his life.
(10) Willa's Beast (Willa x Gren)—Willa was hard to like bc it was difficult to be sympathetic toward her when her actions were apathetic toward everyone else. In an extreme way. It was like the only people she could feel anything for were her and Gren.

hi hannah! i saw that you were reading dune and, while i 100% would love to see you do a fashion breakdown of the houses like you do with asoiaf, i was wondering if you'd seen the movie? not the 2021 version, but the silly goofy one directed by david lynch in 1984. if not, i highly recommend watching it after reading the book. it was a wonderful ride the entire way through and i'd love to hear your thoughts on it. anyways have a lovely day!!! 💕
I’ve seen the 21 version but not the campy 80s version though I plan to!! I’m currently reading the book so here are a couple of my ideas so far (bear with me I’m only a few chapters in)

Jessica is a character who has a very sleek and refined quality about her, so I imagine she dresses in such a manner. Silky and flowing fabrics but oftentimes simplistic, a nod to both her status as a concubine and life as a Bene Gesserit. She radiates power and is very comfortable within it, and through this her clothes (especially on Caladan) are both relaxed but also show the elegance and competence in her personality. This choice of clothing is most definitely heightened on Arrakis as she needs to adhere to the prophecy and prove to the natives that she is “The One”

The Bene Gesserit themselves have a range of styles bc they’re on a range of planets, but I feel that they always incorporate black in their outfits when they represent the sisterhood. The silhouettes might vary as well, but there’s always a very elegant yet stern way they dress. Just the right amount of decor to appeal to whoever they’re trying to influence. Their clothes are always fine and fit well, but their commanding energy comes more from their personas than their fits (though the fits do help)

The Arrakeen people themselves (but not the Fremen) are really almost anonymous. Unless they’re in their homes, they have to cover almost every part of themselves in loose fabrics to keep themselves cool and protected from the sun. I think this kind of facelessness adds to the criticism of the “White Savior vs. monolithic savages who need saving” trope that Herbert was going for. So not only is it practical but it’s thematic as well! Two for the price of one
#dune#I couldn’t decide whether to use high fashion or historical#so I picked both#since is that not what a lot of sci Fi costumes are#a mix between the known to ground us and the unknown to wow us#wait that’s kinda a bar

had a weird dream where a musical was made that had the Lord's in black as the main characters, and for some reason Wiggly had to be dressed as the sun over his clothes? And Pokey was directing and pissed that nothing was going right? It was some sort of space thing with planets in the style of them in a high school play for some reason?
I have no idea what was happening, I woke up pretty quickly before I got any more context to it, but I think Tinky might have been trying to do something with a planet too. Hannah might have been there?

Mid Year Reading Check In
I compiled this at the end of June, so it's not up to the minute accurate, but a good indication of how my reading year has gone so far. I tweaked the questions a bit to suit my reading style. If anyone sees this and wants to answer them PLEASE tag me so I can see what you are reading!
Mid Year Book Check In Questions:
Did you set a reading challenge; if so, how’s it going? (AKA How many books have you read?)
Best book(s) you’ve read so far?
Best sequel or book in a series you've read so far?
New release you haven't read yet, but want to?
Most anticipated release for the second half of the year?
Biggest disappointment?
Biggest surprise?
Favorite new author? (Debut or new to you)
Newest favorite character (for whatever reason)?
Book that made you cry or saddest book you’ve read?
Book that made you happy?
Favorite review you've written this year? (Can be glowing or a takedown)
Favorite cover for a book you've read this year?
What books are your priority to read by the end of the year?
Answers:
According to GR, I’ve read 239 books (tho I prefer ‘title’ since some are pretty short. I read a mix of novels, novellas, shorts and manga/comics.) My GR goal is 365, so I’m ahead of schedule!
Bests
Manga - Restart After . . . duology by Cocomi
Graphic novel - Mamo by Sass Milledge (ff ya)
Non LGBTQ+ romance book - The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna (still casually queer)
Short book - Bisclavret by K.L. Noone
Standalone mm romance book (there are not a lot of these, lol) - We Could Be So Good by Cat Sebastian (I didn’t want it to be over, so I really took my time.)
3. Three way tie between The Missing Page by Cat Sebastian, Malibu by Emmy Sanders, and Out of the Wild Night by Marina Vivancos. Oh, and Muscle Cub by Slade James!
4. Loads, but I still haven’t read The Secret Lives of Country Gentlemen by KJ Charles and I really need to get on that.
5. I’m looking forward to the next volume of Our Not-So-Lonely Planet Travel Guide by Mone Sorai. Oh, and Gentle Chaos by Tyler Gaga (ghosthoney on IG and TikTok)
6. I was most recently disappointed by How To Say I Do by Tal Bauer - not hugely, just wasn’t what I was hoping for.
7. I was really pleasantly surprised by Show Me How to Trust by Ray Celar. I didn’t have high hopes after book 2, but this one really took the time it needed to with the characters. Not a perfect book, but really lovely.
8. I’ve read a couple of short things by her in the past, but this year Crystal Lacy has become a new go-to author.
9. Sal from The Demon’s Mate by Delaney Rain, and maybe Collin from Off-Ice Behavior by Hannah Henry.
10. Some I’ve already mentioned made me cry, but I Felt a Funeral, in My Brain by Will Walton made me cry no fewer than five times. It’s a weird prose poem YA book about grief and generational addiction, I thought it was so well done. A book that made me cry mostly happy tears was Keep Me by HJ Welch.
11. The audiobook of Heartbreak Boys by Simon James Green made me legitimately lol.
12. Well, the one that has gotten the most likes on GR is my 1 star of The Right Wrong Number by Katie Warren, but I did like my pithy review for So These Rude Grumpy Arrogant Jerks Fall In Love and It’s Gross by TJ Land. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/5353619286
13. The Roger Crenshaw books by Taylor Titmouse have amazing covers, and illustrations inside, too.
Also, Haunt, Heart, Havoc by Freydís Moon has a super striking cover.
14. I’d like to get back to In Memoriam by Alice Winn. I started it, but there were holds and I knew it was going to get very sad. Oh, and this probably should have been listed above, but I also want to get to Something Wild and Wonderful by Anita Kelly soon.

From Rags to Runway: The Thrifting Revolution of GenZ
Introduction
Ever walked into a party and felt like everyone’s wearing the same outfit? Yeah, me too. But what if I told you there’s a way to stand out, save the planet, and not break the bank? Enter: thrifted couture. That’s right—GenZ is turning second-hand shopping into high fashion, and it’s never been cooler. Who needs a trust fund when you’ve got a thrift store?
(Image 1: A stylish GenZ person wearing a thrifted outfit, captioned: "Thrifted Couture: Slaying Without Slaying Your Bank Account")
What is Thrifted Couture?
Thrifting has been around forever, but lately, it’s gotten a glow-up. What used to be just about saving money has turned into a full-blown fashion statement. Thrifted couture is all about taking second-hand clothes and styling them in ways that make you look like you just stepped off a runway—not out of your grandma’s closet. (Okay, sometimes it might look like you raided your grandma’s closet, but in the best way possible. Think: pairing a 90s blazer with ripped jeans and chunky sneakers. It’s like time travel fashion.)
Why GenZ Loves Thrifting
GenZ isn’t just about following trends; we’re setting them. And one of the biggest trends right now is sustainability. Why buy new when you can buy pre-loved? It’s better for the planet and your wallet. Plus, there’s something thrilling about the hunt—digging through racks to find that one perfect piece.
According to Refinery29: Why Gen-Z Loves Thrifting, thrifting is a defining aspect of GenZ life. It’s not just about fashion; it’s about making a statement. We’re saying no to fast fashion and yes to unique, eco-friendly styles. Stats show that 46% of GenZ shopped secondhand in 2019, and the resale market is booming, worth $24 billion that year. Platforms like Depop have 15 million users, 90% of whom are under 26. And on TikTok, #ThriftStore has 92.7 million views, proving just how popular this trend is.
Take Olivia McCafferty-Cable, a 17-year-old from Santa Barbara, who’s been thrifting since she was 13. She finds unique, affordable clothes that help her express herself. Or Hannah Valentine, 19, from St. Louis, who not only thrifts but also sells her finds on Depop, advocating for inclusivity with sizes up to 3X.
Specific Thrifted Fashion Trends
GenZ is all about reviving the past with a modern twist. Here are some specific thrifted fashion trends that are hot right now:
’90s Grunge: Think flannel shirts, ripped jeans, and combat boots. These staples are easy to find at thrift stores and give off that effortless cool vibe.
’70s Chic: Bell-bottoms, flowy tops, and platform shoes are making a comeback. Thrift stores are goldmines for these retro pieces.
’60s Mod: Bold patterns, mini dresses, and go-go boots add color and flair.
Vintage Sportswear: Old-school Nike, Adidas, or Reebok gear, like a thrifted tracksuit, becomes a statement piece.
Statement Accessories: Oversized sunglasses, chunky necklaces, and vintage hats, often cheaper when thrifted, elevate outfits.
DIY and Customization: Many GenZers take thrifted clothes and add their own flair with patches, paint, or even print-on-demand designs. It’s all about making it uniquely yours.
The Social Side of Thrifting
Thrifting isn’t just about the clothes; it’s about the community. On TikTok, #ThriftTok has millions of views, with users sharing their hauls and styling tips. It’s a place where we can all appreciate each other’s finds and maybe even trade tips on where to score the best deals.
Ever thrifted something and then seen it on a celebrity weeks later? It’s like we’re trendsetters without even trying. Case in point: I bought a plaid skirt last month, and now it’s all over Instagram. Coincidence? I think not.
How to Thrift Like a Pro
For those new to thrifting, here are some tips:
Know Your Size: Thrift stores can be overwhelming, so knowing your sizes helps narrow down the search.
Check for Quality: Even if it’s second-hand, make sure it’s in good condition. Check for stains, tears, or missing buttons.
Be Open-Minded: Sometimes, the best finds are in sections you wouldn’t normally look in. That men’s shirt could be your new favorite crop top.
Wash Before Wearing: Always wash thrifted clothes before wearing them. You never know where they’ve been. (And by wash, I mean throw them in the washing machine with some detergent, not just spray them with perfume and hope for the best.)
Conclusion
So, next time you’re looking to update your wardrobe, skip the mall and hit up your local thrift store. Who knows? You might just find your new favorite outfit—and save the planet while you’re at it. Remember, one person’s trash is another person’s haute couture.

I think this resurgence of punk is a reflection on what’s happening in the world. Politically we are angry with our government. Socially we just want to stand out. Grabbing whatever is in our closet and throwing it together is the ultimate goal. Having a diy and sustainable attitude to how we dress proves we are conscious and are individualistic. The youth has captured this messy look by regressing to what our inner child wants. Colorful, bright and what our idea of glamour truly is. That’s the key to this look.

Laughing by the Stars: The Zodiac Traits Behind Comedic Genius
An astrologer can say that comedians need these three abilities; the ability to wit, know just when to pull the punch, and, ultimately, the entire premise of humor bonding with their audiences.
So here is an elaboration of the primary astrological traits involved in talent and achievement in comedy.
Mercury: Planet of Wit & Communication
Mercury in Gemini or Sagittarius: They’re sharp, quick, and witty. Gemini plays with words; Sagittarius exaggerates and philosophizes.
Mercury in Aquarius has an unconventional type of quirky humor that opposes the standards (think absurd or satirical comedy).
Any aspect formed between Mercury and Uranus: Crazy, spontaneous humor, improvised to the max.
Example: Robin Williams with Mercury in Gemini thought and cracked clever jokes at a rapid pace.
Moon Sign: Emotional Resonance
Moon in Leo: The best performers who really know how to make people laugh (e.g., Kevin Hart).
Moon in Libra: Charm and observational humor about relationships and social dynamics.
Moon in Pisces: Absurdist or self-deprecating humor that masks sensitivity.
Example: Tina Fey has Leo on the Moon, sharp and theatrical in her wit.
3. Rising Sign: The Stage Persona
Gemini Rising: Smooth talkers full of life- Mr. Funny Guy himself- Jim Carrey.
Sagittarius Rising: Loud voices and larger-than-life energies depicted by John Mulaney.
Leo Rising: Confident enough to grab the attention of most in the room.
4. Jupiter: For All Things Good & Lucky
Jupiter in the Fifth-House: These shining lights, real entertainers enter the world of comedy, theatre or even improv.
The aspect from Jupiter to mercury or sun gives an optimistically- humorous nature and opportunities for fame.
Example: Dave Chappelle blends Jupiter in Sagittarius qualities of wisdom tempered with career-unconventionality.
5. The Third House: Mode of Expression & Humor Style
Generally, the planets placed here tell of individuals with great storytelling prowess and observational humor.
From Mars in the 3rd House, this person would be bold, edgy, or confrontational in their comedy (like Bill Burr).
6. Uranus: The Rule Breaker
Unconventional style, shock value, or anti-establishment humor with Uranus in the 1st, 3rd, or 5th House.
Uranus aspecting Sun, Moon: Eccentric personas (Bo Burnham’s Meta-comedy).
7. Venus: Charm & Likability
Venus in Leo: Charismatic and playful humor that wins over crowds.
Venus in Gemini: Witty bantering flirting-style jokes.
Example: Ali Wong (Venus in Gemini) sharp, relateable, and funny about worldly issues.
8. Mars: Timing & Edge
Mars in Aries or Sagittarius: Bold, fearless, and physical comedy.
Mars aspecting Mercury: Quick comebacks and roast.
9. Saturn: Discipline and Longevity
Saturn in the 5th or 10th House: Structured, long-lasting careers akin to Jerry Seinfeld’s work ethic.
Saturn aspecting Mercury: Dry, sarcastic humor developed over time.
10. The 5th House: Creativity & Performance
The Sun, Moon, or Mercury in the 5th House indicates natural entertainers who love making people laugh.
The Neptune in the 5th House: This may lead to absurdist or character-based comedy (ex. Sacha Baron Cohen).
A lineup of comedian charts
Amy Schumer- Sun in Gemini, Mercury in Cancer (perceived humorous and relatable).
John Mulaney: Mercury situated in Virgo, pertaining precision in his storytelling, with Sagittarius rising indicating exaggerated style.
Hannah Gadsby: Pluto in Libra, Mercury- a conjunction with a transformative and boundary-pushing humor.
Reason: These placements can hardly be considered as the only determinants for comedian positions.
Well, astrology shows promise, as they say, not destiny! Potent 3rd or 5th house placements or Mercury-Uranus aspects may signal some comics, but life experiences, cultural contexts, and one’s own input will really decide how the sigil manifests.
To spot: Mercury in air signs (Gemini, Aquarius), bold Leo or Sagittarius Moon/Rising, Uranian aspects denoting originality, plus strength of 3rd and 5th houses representing storytelling. What would be the funniest placement in your chart?

WIP Wednesday

All Vash wanted to do was show off. But not in the way things happened.
Vash parked their car on the deserted street. “Here we are, Jeneora’s Rock. Hannah, you wanted a lesson on alternative energy?” He waved his hand at the windmill mountain looming above the town.
Hannah idled the motorcycle behind the car. “Mamajamming,” she muttered craning her head to take in the windmill mountain. “That’s taller than the Sears Tower. It’s one thousand four hundred fifty-one feet high, not counting the antennae.”
“Should count the antennae,” Chuck scowled as he crossed his arms. “I’d be taller if they were counted.”
“Jeneora’s Rock there is two thousand feels counting the end of the blades.” Vash grinned over his shoulder at her. “Ready to hike?”
“Will they let you in to explore?” Meryl asked as she pulled her bag out from the front passenger seat foot well.
“I hope they do,” Vash answered. “I’d hate to pull the ‘hey I helped you build it about eighty years ago’ card when there’s probably nobody left alive that remembers that.”
Chuck uncrossed his arms to pull himself halfway over the front seat. “You built that!” He balanced on the seat back to point at the windmill mountain.
“Helped build it. I had some engineering knowledge the town lacked.”
Chuck groaned. “You said the E-word.”
“Well, you don’t have to come but it is the biggest windmill on the planet.”
“We will need you to pull Mr. Vash and your sister out so we can eat,” Milly said with a laugh. “We should get hotel rooms first.”
Hannah climbed off the motorcycle, leaving her helmet on it, and joined them as they got out of the car. “I don’t see any hotel signs on this street.”
“That’s okay,” Vash said as he headed up to the swinging doors of the next building on this side of the street. “The bartenders always know where to send guests and is likely to know who to ask about windmill tours.” He thrust open the swinging doors and his foot kicked a bottle with its neck broken off. It rolled into the dim interior and stopped against a dead man’s body on the floor at the same time blood and gunpowder hit Vash’s nose.
“Verittok!” Hannah exclaimed right at his elbow. Vash backed out of the doorway so she wouldn’t see, but she was already mashing buttons on Chuck’s helmet.
“You’re not supposed to say that word!” Chuck yelled. “Wait, vacuum setting?”
“Trust me, you don’t want to smell that much blood.”
Vash’s stomach roiled. It was a massacre in there just by the smell alone. What happened? Who had done such a thing and drove everyone else in the town into hiding?
An echo of Bluesummer’s mental voice came out of Vash’s memories. “The power of death is intoxicating.”
Hannah’s green eyes stared up at Vash. “They can’t arrest you for this. We just got here.”
“What’s wrong?” Meryl asked sharply.
Vash glanced around the empty street. A business across it should have witnesses. He ran for the door under ‘Hair Styling for Men’ door.
“Everybody in there is dead,” Hannah answered, pointing at the saloon doors.
“How are you so sure?” Chuck asked.
“Because that much blood smell doesn’t come from a wound you can bandage. Trust me.”
Vash pounded on the hair salon’s door. “I need to ask you something! Open the door!” No one stirred inside. He gritted his teeth. Please no, not the whole town.
Meryl hurried across the street after Vash. “We should report it. That’s the right thing to do. Wait, Vash!”
He didn’t wait for them but took off running up the street looking for any sign of life.

I 100% subscribe to the belief that Cody has one hell of a sense of style. He and Fox both do. They're confident, they know what they like or at least what they Don't like, and they seem to have left their fucks-to-give behind in their decanting tubes.
The kicker is that it's also like Alpha-17 with the saddlebag pants in that it is Unique. You could not find this style choice literally anywhere else if you tried. Even among their brothers, who have a wild and uninfluenced-by-media-and-culture relationship with fashion styles as it is.
Fashion followers make a sport out of trying to figure out where each piece came from when they're spotted in civvies. Fox has a jacket that's exactly 278 years, 5 months, 3 days out of style. Everyone's confused at how it's in such great condition, given whatever it's made out of is definitely a natural material, not synthetic. Cody has a love affair with a specific pair of pants he got on a campaign on some half-forgotten outer rim planet, and literally no one can figure out what style or origin these pants are.
There's a Space Reddit exclusively dedicated to attempts to name what their style is. Is it fast fashion? Is it goth? Is it punk? Is it space pirate? Is it "fell into a dumpster and kept what stuck"? Nobody knows. What everyone can agree on, though, is that there is enough consistency and pattern to it that there is, in fact, a legitimate style happening.
Fox wears the style 24/7. Cody can and will wear go out looking like a half-asleep university student fresh off an exam-season study binge. He gives exactly -2224 fucks. It's just that it's such a wild divergence from his usual clothes that literally no one but the Jedi, his batchers, and the 212th officers believe that it's him. He Hannah Montana's his way into moments of anonymity via sweats and a hoodie that he doesn’t even use to cover his head, and I love that for him.
I'm working on something in the back round, and I couldn't decide which headcanon I liked more. On the one hand, Cody, being the undisputed style king of the 212th, fits his personality so well. But on the other hand, him being a hoodie and sweatpants defender/lover in his civil life is hilarious to me. Like yes, he is all professional business while on duty, but the second he gets home or is in private, he is in the softest hoodie imaginable. And then there is the third option my friend suggested, that being that he is just 100% business and professional all the time. Which, okay, yeah.... I guess that fits his character. A bit boring in my opinion but if any of y'all like it....
"Sets up a microphone"
The floor is yours.
If anyone else has some neat ideas or headcanons, I would love to hear them.
Peace out. Y'all.
