Watched the end of beginning Carmy edit and all of his “family” forcing him to say I love you and like what if Carmy tells Sydney he loves her first?!?! Like I might die on the spot actually. I really don’t think I could handle that. But I need it

S6 POV: You’re scrolling on Instagram and find Syd and Carmy’s pages.
Syd: “Food mad scientist. Wife. Mother. @chefcarmyberzatto makes big moves at @thebearchicago.”
Carmy: “Food mad scientist. Husband. Father. @chefsydberzatto calls the shots at @thebearchicago.”

the scene in 2x09 where carmy's pulled out of his panic attack by thoughts of syd...
first of all, I don't know how to interpret that in a platonic way. especially when half the scenes he was panicking about included claire?
secondly, it really reminded me of the scene in the RDJ sherlock holmes movie where holmes is getting sensory overload at the restaurant, and he's pulled out of it when he hears watson's voice

listen,
let's say you forgot something at work. maybe it's your pen. maybe it's a water bottle or, i don't know, your everyday scarf. maybe it's your little notebook. In either case, you forgot something at work, but it's that One Thing that pretty much makes you, you. a signature, in a way. it's as part of you as all of your bones; it's very you, like your dna, but made trivial. you don't even think about it like that, like it's something that holds that much significance to who you are.
but your boss does.
your hot boss, the one that now gets on your nerves just in the same intensity you used to adore him. professionally speaking, of course. probably. you think (i mean: with your credentials, you could've been working somewhere waaaay better than... than whatever it is your boss has going on right now). he used to be your inspiration… but It doesn't matter anymore. it shouldn't matter anymore.
your boss... he's great at what he does. he is. no doubt about that. but maybe he's also a little bit too much sometimes. maybe he's a little bitch. a piece of shit, sometimes.
and maybe you're overworked and have been disappointed with him for months now. he's a mess, and at this point in your life, you should've been able to know fucking better. so, naturally, you decide to quit.
your boss kept asking why: why were you quitting. but you tried to talk to him for too long now. and when you quit, you're angry and exhausted and feeling frustrated with life, really, so you leave that workplace in such a hurry that you end up forgetting your signature stuff in there. let's pretend (assume?) it's a little notebook, the one that's very you. you're always carrying it around with such a devotion, it could be your own heart.
then again: you don't think about it like that. but your boss does. you don't think about retrieving this ordinary yet sacred little notebook (it's... whatever. you can get another one), but your boss finds it and, knowing very well it belongs to you, he caress its pages - the ones you've written out most of your creative ideas, the ones maybe you've drawn out, in sharpie, silly faces, when you were spacing out a little bit.
your boss holds your little notebook with such a devotion… he can't take his eyes, his hands, off it. he knows he fucked up with you. he doesn't know how to fix it, tho (he knows he can admit to you he was in the wrong, of course. but how could he have you back? would you even be back? and why would you do that, when now, more than ever, it's pretty clear you deserve more than everything he's been offering to you, which is stress, for the most part).
he's sorry. like, really, really sorry. he's actually pretty sad you left, but because he's feeling shitty all the time, he doesn't even have the language to admit it or articulate this sadness just yet. for now, he's nothing more than a coward. he'll keep your notebook to himself. he'll never say a word about it.

Can we please address to the lyrics of the song used for the table scene!?! The fact that’s it a love song (it’s definitely not about lose of life in this instance), the fact that we got the full rendition, the fact that Syd gets her own love song but also steals Claire’s song during the panic attack 🤭.
Come Home - Pearl Jam
If I keep holding out, will the light shine through? Under this broken roof, it's only rain that I feel I've been wishing out the days Oh-oh-oh, come back
I have been planning out all that I'd say to you Since you slipped away, know that I still remain true I've been wishing out the days
Please say, that if you hadn't of gone now I wouldn't have lost you another way From wherever you are Oh-oh, oh-oh, come back
And these days, they linger on And in the night I've been waiting for The real possibility that I may meet you in my dreams I go to sleep
If I don't fall apart, will my memories stay clear? So you had to go and I had to remain here But the strangest thing to date So far away and yet you feel so close And I'm not gonna question it any other way There must be an open door For you to come back
And the days, they linger on And every night, what I'm waiting for Is the real possibility that I may meet you in my dreams Sometimes you're there and you're talking back to me Come the morning I could swear you're next to me And it's okay
It's okay It's okay
I'll be here Come back, come back I'll be here Come back, come back I'll be here Come back, come back

For no particular reason. I am once again listening to the super horny, extremely romantic song they played over Carmy apologizing to Sydney:
If you wanna roll me Then you gotta roll me all night long And if you wanna use me
Then you gotta use me 'til I'm gone
I'm not a fallen angel, I just fell behind
I'm out of luck and I'm out of time If you don't wanna love me, let me go
I'm runnin' for the last train
I'm runnin' for the last train home
If you wanna know me
Then you gotta know me through and through And if you're gonna hurt me
Then you gotta hold me next to you
No matter how you work it, things go wrong
I put my heart where it don't belong So if you're comin' with me, let me know Maybe you're the last train
Maybe you're the last train home
I'm on the last train runnin'
I'm on the last train runnin' And I surrender And I surrender
I would simply not play this over a dynamic I intended to be fully platonic, but what do I know! I would simply not do that, if my goal was besties.

i think i just figured out how i want carmy and sydney’s relationship to go where like they catch feelings for each other and they try to have a romantic relationship but ultimately that crashes and burns as they realize that they’re not right for each other in that way but in the end they are each other’s person and they really are soulmates even if it’s not in a romantic context and they choose to cultivate their relationship through the restaurant and their similar passions for food instead

the thing abt sydcarmy is that it has the chance to prove romance isn’t a lesser subgenre, that you can have two characters that have tangible chemistry and potentially have them together without degrading the narrative and characters.
romance is so fucking ruined by modern pop culture and fandom, but as long as two characters are romantic for the right reasons it doesn’t need to be viewed as a form of bad media.
the reason sydcarmy exists as a really well constructed platonic OR romantic relationship is because the two characters work SO well together. a piece of media is NOT dragged down by romance IF the romance is actually good, makes sense for the characters, and doesn’t bog down the narrative.
in my honest opinion, how could syd and carmy possibly do that if romantic feelings were canon? as long as the writers intend to write their archs in the same way they are doing so now, how would romance detract from it?
maybe it’s just me but i think the audience is supposed to put a little bit in both the platonic and romantic boxes, and be confused as to where this is heading.
i am Excited

One of my favorite media critics analyzes this scene so beautifully in their podcast breakdown of the show and I think about it all of the time!!!
“One of the most intimate scenes between a male/female characters that although it’s not overtly romantic, this scene essentially is the two characters professing their love for each other…”
This is me terribly paraphrasing! But the point still stands! How am I not supposed to ship them after that? HOW SWAY?! 😭🤧

ESCAPING INTO A SHIP
So what exactly made me latch onto the Sydcarmy ship like a leech on a water buffalo?
Tumblr media
It was unexpected (for me)! Yes, the very first meeting between Syd and Carm did make an impact. I thought "Oooh, what's this?!" However, Carmy was/is such a mess that I quickly dismissed it. And Sydney just seemed to want his professional approval and a partner in making something great after the soul-crushing failure of Sheridan. So, the first season I personally didn't feel a mutual sexual/romantic tension, more like an automatic respect and shared goals/passions. Sydney nor Carm were obviously trying to flirt. Most slow burns on TV are 100% obvious like a Jeanine and Gregory (Abbott Elementary), Nick and Jess (New Girl), Jake and Amy (Brooklyn 99), Jim and Pam (The Office)...Until Braciole Ep. 8 that is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
S. 1 Episode 8- I won't get into everything but Carmy was desolate. Yes, he became a psycho chef and two people quit in Ep.7. However, he mourned Sydney more than Marcus. She was in his flashback/nightmare (?), then the way he told Tina that she looked like Syd (the poor pup), him texting her before opening the note from Mikey, and finally the most gorgeous locked gaze scene since Pride and Prejudice (2005). The soft lighting, the music, the colors, the mind-reading...magical. I still didn't get it initially. Silly, blind me.
Tumblr media
Mentorship where??? Season 2 Carm and Syd's "mentorship" dynamic is pretty much over. They are true partners and spending more time together. They're dressing alike even when not in uniform, finishing each other's sentences or talking in unison. Sydney is opening up more of herself and Carm is asking to know more. They use the ASL sign for sorry with each other and no one else until ep 10. Then there's that locker scene in ep. 1 or 2, when they almost hang out just cause. However, Carmy misses the moment and there's the return of the kicked pup face. Before being on the ship I was delighted with all of their scenes and was looking forward to the food tour. They just ROCK together on screen.
Tumblr media
Classic Love Triangle- Who's Claire? She's "Claire Bear", the prototypical "cool girl", who is willing to chase an socially awkward, wrong-number-giving man, despite being a pretty ER resident with no shortage of options. Did a CW writer get hired? Anyways, why was her presence used almost exclusively to put strain on Carmy and Sydney's relationship instead of The Bear generally? We could have had scenes with Nat, Richie, and Marcus arguing with Carmy about him being distracted due to Claire. They saved 99% of that for Sydney. They CHOSE to insert her in between or just after scenes with him and Claire. Showing Sydney's tattoos and her getting dressed with the stained chef's coat juxtaposed with them was WILD.
Tumblr media
I LOVE that both believe their interpersonal problems are solely about The Bear/business partnership. In most "slowburns" the characters are far more conscious and actively work to keep things platonic. Jeremy might be a smidge aware that Sydney means more to him after the panic attack, but I bet he's shoved it down. All he knows afterward is that being with Claire feels wrong hence ignoring her call and recommitting to SYDNEY. He could of said "You all/This/The Bear deserve my full focus etc..." He was also nagged into greeting Claire at Friends and Family, seemed anxious when Fak brought her up right before The Table scene, and also while explaining that "she's great" to Sydney. He was at peace when focused on Sydney in the moment below.
Tumblr media
The actors: Jeremy and Ayo's real life friendship is warms my soul and their chemistry onscreen is amazing. DON'T WASTE IT!!!
Tumblr media
Jeremy smolders on screen. I want to see Carmy continue to stare, yearn, fall, then eventually confess and for Sydney to reciprocate his feelings. Anyhoo, does anyone else melt when Carm means business?! They do this twice in season one and it's not good for me. Whew, I need to clean my whole house or run a few miles.
Tumblr media
Finally, there's so many other parallels between these two. They are fearful avoidants, have a missing or dead parent, jacked up stomachs, use sarcasm, but are generally very earnest, they struggle with anxiety, are compassionate, are perfectionists, peace-makers, give people multiple chances, are workaholics...so much more. A lot of that is also ME, lol.
Tumblr media
Sydcarmy is my Roman Empire. I love them as much as you can fictional characters and they deserve the most tender, angsty, triumphant, romantic best-friends to more love story.

"fixing" the panic attack scene to be more platonic ™
im extremely active on twt and have been noticing a sydcarmy tweet go viral multiple times a week (like w thousands of interactions its crazy), and its really great to see how much people love and see it for this ship. recently carmys panic attack scene went viral again, and naturally, some ppl gave their piece about how we are all dumb for interpreting it as romantic. that sydney represents his love for his job or his duty to the restaurant (*sigh*).
this scene imo, is the most concrete proof of this ship. i can excuse (not really) interpreting every interaction between them thus far as platonic but this scene....i just refuse. this is gonna be a long post, not analyzing the scene per se because i can't possibly say anything that hasn't already been said but more "fixing" the scene to fit the narrative of antis, and i hope in doing so really shows there's no other way to interpret this scene as other than romantic. again its gonna be a long post bc im just ranting and i think i will lose my mind if i dont type this out.
lets go.
Tumblr media
so first off i like to think of this scene as an equation/experiment. simply a problem that needs to be solved.
problem/reason of panic = ...we will discuss this...
solution # 1 = claire -> failed
solution # 2 = sydney -> worked.
Problem/Reason
s02e09 opens up with carmy and claire finally consummating their relationship, with an interesting song choice might i add and carmy dissociating, looking sad, or broken (???) after. because many have said carmy pulling memories of sydney from his psyche to calm down have to do with work i always remember that, it really doesnt make any sense?
carmy is clearly having a panic attack due to him not being "fixed" as soon as he made it official with claire. he felt pressure from his family both currently and in the past to date claire because she is amazing and perfect. add mikey also being a part of that crowd, and carmy so desperately trying to connect with him when he cannot, is why i think he looks so despondent after that scene. i truly think he thought he would be a changed person after everything with claire and when that didn't happen he flipped...
we know this is the reason bc his panic attack starts with their sex scene and the lyric "I dont know" from strange currencies by REM.
this isn't to say that he isn't nervous or stressed about the soft open but its clear that he's not having a panic attack about work nor have we ever seen him have a work-related panic attack (correct me if I'm wrong). in s1 he has one or two due to him greiving his brother.
platonic fix: To make it about work I would have added scenes like when Carmy started that stove fire in braciole, his meltdown in review, some scenes of his horrible time at EMP, and him grieving his brother. i think these would represent his fear of failure, falling back into old toxic habits pertaining his career, the fear of fostering a toxic work environment like the ny chef and also the idea of "failing" mikey
but theres a reason why none of this occurs bc its not about his job or the opening of the bear. this is explicitly about his personal and romantic love life.
Solution # 1 : Claire
carmy proceeds to try and calm down by thinking of claire through literal rose-coloured glasses...
Tumblr media
the music is distorted, he's thinking of his abusive family, he remembers every one pushing him to date claire bc shes a #goodthing.
again...this is not about his job and wouldnt make sense to think of sydneys place in his work life as a soultion to his clear personal problem....
platonic fix: in the story of carmys love life claire and sydney act as narrative foils. they have been compared and contrasted for all of s2. my platonic fix for this would be making the NY chef this first "solution" of a work-related panic attack. he represents a horrible time in his life but also represents a time when carmy was at the height of his career. when carmy gets locked in the walk in and has his monologue, its alluded to that he will revert back to that mind set in order to not let everyone down.
NY chef abused him for so long, it makes sense that carmys psyche would readily go back to his insults and the time he himself was an isolated 'psycho' bc it yielded results.
nothing is black and white and i DO think sydney represents a healthier approach to the toxic mess that is the culinary world and does represent that for carmy. if the show was invested in that, sydney and the NY chef could be overtly contrasted like sydney and claire have been.
BUT again this isnt about his job and dedication as a chef...thus why he tries to think of claire to solve his personal problem, and it fails.
Solution # 2: Sydney
LMFAOOO.
carmy then in a crazy plot twist starts thinking of his platonic work bestie sydney adamu....the love song dedicated by the show to his relationship with his girlfriend is then made clear highlighting some pretty damning lyrics about desire and love.....all platonic btw. yes you are dumb if you think otherwise (*wink*)
Tumblr media
I actually have two platonic fixes for this...
platonic fix # 1: if we only wanted to focus on sydney as a person who calms carmy down because shes his work bestie who represents his responsibilty to the bear and the postive change they are trying effect in the culinary world, i would add scenes where they are...you know actually cooking???
i think its pretty crazy how the memories carmys immediately jump to are ones that have little to do with their jobs. when they first meet (would also like to note that when carmy first laid eyes on Sydney, he forgot she was there for a job, so this is his raw reaction to seeing a pretty girl lol) and when she comes back after she quit and their break up fight.
i would add their scenes in carmys kitchen (even tho this is extremely damning bc they were flirting DOWN - they don't make this easy at all). this represents their collaboration skills and the way they WORK and bounce ideas off of each other seamlessly. specifically the scene about him wanting to give her a star, representing his duty to her and the restaurant.
*and no shade to carmy but if his responsibility to the bear/syd as a co-worker was bothering him this much and calmed him down wouldn't he have just immediately called the fridge guy.....anyways*
platonic fix # 2 (the best one): if i was chris storer and joanna calo and i REALLY wanted to sell it that carmy isnt in love with sydney then i would put every single member of the OG beef crew + Nat to calm him down not just Sydney.
im talking to them laughing at family, carmy giving tina his chefs knife, richie in his new suit, carmys one on one w Marcus/trying his donut, nat telling carmy shes pregnant (signifing rebirth/wanting to rid all the toxic abuse from his family), carmy trying sydney risotto, and her face when he said it was tremendous etc etc...you get the gist
and honestly?
even as i type this out im tearing up a little bit bc that would have been really beautiful. carmy is changing. he can and is getting rid of old toxic habits from his family and the mess that is the culinary industry. things are changing for the better....that would be beautiful....IF his panic attack was about any of these things lol.
and to even look at this scene without this need for symmetry and we entertain the idea of carmy thinking about his job as a solution for his personal problem...carmy has said himself (s02e01) that this isnt fun for him. i dont think that means he hates cooking i kinda disagree with the ppl who think he isnt passionate about it. i just think currently its something that doesnt bring him joy but i do think its something hes starting to or at least could have started to enjoy if he just committed to working with syd...
conclusion
theres a lot of....delusion? denial? straight up bias? yes all of that, going on.
idk what is happening bc this show is really great at being subtle. but i dont know whats more in your face, dumbed down, even a toddler could understand, than this scene. if you dont come out of this understanding that carmy is falling in love/currently in love with Sydney...and i hate using this term..but you just arent media literate.
Tumblr media
bonus: bc it makes me laugh and connects the purpose and solutions.
i think we need a Snyder Sydcarmy Cut™ of bolognese and omelette.
the start of the episode is when sydney and carmy fight over claires inclusion in the menu, and also when sydney randomly asks him to define his relationship with Claire. the episode would continue until we get to the table scene.
i think its WILD how as soon as Sydney asks him to define their relationship, carmy starts calling claire his girlfriend. then the show proceeds to insert sydney in their romantic montage, shows her tattoo about heartbreak and someone getting in the way of your relationship...THEN proceeds to have carmy compare these two women in his mind and only calms down after seeing Sydney.
i could talk about this scene for AGES. wheres the straitjacket....

First things first, I am a TRUE SydCarmy shipper OK. The slow burn, the subtle yearning, I'M THERE. BUT, I can't help but see sentiments of how Sydney and Marcus were giving platonic, when I feel like they weren't.
Sydney was vulnerable in a special way to Marcus, I mean, she invited the man into her home and made a meal for him!!! Some might say it was because she felt bad for him but knowing our avoidant girly, she could've just sent him a quick text or call and moved on. But she didn't, because she cares about him. Before she had that talk with Carmy, behind the restaurant in S01E03, she had that moment with Marcus in the fridge, after she accidentally spilled the veal stock. The two of them from then on, kinda looked out for each other.
We go into season 2, the first episode when Tina and Sydney are discussing good good and Marcus comes in and they have a little conversation, there was tension there. THERE WAS AND IT WAS GIVING ROMANTIC. Cut to, Marcus's episode, after a long day of staging with Chef Luca, he's in bed, face timing Sydney. He shares a recurring nightmare about losing his mother and Syd assures him that all is good and he should enjoy himself. AND THEN SHE SAYS SHE MISSES HIM, I mean come on. What a sweet moment. 💞💞💞
Sydney has had this special ability to bring the best out of Marcus and inspire him and I don't blame him for falling for that women with the big, brown, beautiful eyes, who is quirky like him and funny like him. Sydney might have this magnetic connection with Carmy but Marcus was the first one to really welcome her into the kitchen, into The Beef/Bear. Their dynamic is one we see often in real life, two people getting along and it seeming romantic, but it ends up one sided. That's not a bad thing, just a little sad😔. Marcus is open to love and lowkey, so is Sydney and that's a beautiful thing. I hope they both find love and keep their friendship tight!! 😤💪🏾

The Bear Season 2: And Why I’m Fucking Annoyed (Full Spoilers below)
*Long Post*
The Bear is something truly special. When it dropped in June of last year it wasn’t a major hit right away. It was a sleeper and it grew its fanbase over time. If you were here this time last year you remember how small the fandom was posts on every platform could barely reach 200 interactions, but with the Golden Globe wins and the word of mouth this fandom began to grow and expand, because season one of the show was just so good.
Season 2 however is an interesting piece of media. I am well aware that I have some bias in this department and I can’t view this season objectively, but neither can the rest of you so I’ll say what I want.
To start off I really enjoyed some of the episodes this season, the first two? Excellent. The Marcus Episode(with my husband Will Poulter at his side)? Fantastic. The Richie Episode? Perfection. And let’s not even talk about Fishes, which was beyond words. I genuinely went into this season wanting to like it and praise it the way I did the previous season because I thought it was good. The writing—which is spectacular in nearly every other place—takes a nosedive with this romance plot. I still do think it’s good, but I can’t act like this whole season hasn’t left a sour taste in my mouth, because it has. Because the show runners are lying racist misogynistic nasty assholes who bullshitted us for nothing.
Toward the end of last year/beginning of this year Chef’s Kiss fans words made their way to some journalist who then asked about the potential for it with the actors and the writer( in an article stupidly named “don’t worry the bear doesn’t want carmy and sydney to kiss, either” the writer of which goes on to ship carmy and marcus so clearly they have excellent taste 😒) who all shut it down. Fine. That’s fine. That’s their opinion and it doesn’t affect us. What bothers me is the words of the co-creator Chris Storer who said this 👇🏾
Tumblr media
He went on to say the show was also just meant to be focused on these people doing their jobs. So fine. We said even if it won’t be canon there’s no way they would bring in a new love interest cause that’s not “the vision” they have for the show, right?(He also goes on in the pic above to act like we couldn’t separate our love of the plot of the show from the ship which is…infantilizing and annoying) continuing on though, he also said this
Tumblr media
He thought it would be cool to see a show with no romantic plot. Mind you this statement was made in January and the show starting filming in February. So unless they want me to believe they added this romance plot as some last minute thing (which very well could be the case as Claire has quite literally no personality outside of being pushy and being Carmy’s girlfriend) they knew they were having a romance plot in the second season and chose to lie about it. So the actors, the creator, basically everyone who was apart of this project said that Syd and Carmy were a weird ship (a strange thing to say to your, at the time, small audience even if that’s how you felt) just for them to turn around and have Carmy with a new love interest from school and have Sydney and marcus develop feelings for one another in the second to last episode? can y’all be fucking forreal for one minute?
Tumblr media
Suddenly all you “yesss let men and women be friends, not every show needs romance” ass bitches want to ship something. I can tell you know Syd and Carmy have chemistry otherwise you wouldn’t have been shaking in your boots hoping the writers wouldn’t get them together. There was some dumb post i saw rooting for Claire and Carm but then adding ‘no one was better than platonic Sydcarmy’…
I see you.
I spoke about this before, but this constant sidelining of black women in these types of shows irks me. Sydney is basically hunting Carmy down for 85% of the season because he can’t do his fucking job he’s so consumed with Claire. And I know people are gonna say i’m being overdramatic, but it’s so clear they just did not want their main white boy to be with a black girl. Something that happens over and over and over again so many fucking times you can just lose count. Carmy, who in season one was so in tune with Sydney’s emotions he quelled his own anger and anxiety to ask if she was ok now ditches her at their restaurant to go help some girl he hasn’t seen since high school. He ditches her to go to a party then has the nerve to bring up Claire’s helping to inspire him.
Tumblr media
Like yeah no shit Sydney is sorry that she’s there, y’all are opening a restaurant together which could fuck both your lives if it fails and Carmy is off doing god knows what instead of his job!
WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED?!? And yeah, Carmy fucks it up at the end with Claire but that doesn’t negate the rest of the season. Chef’s Kiss shippers are strange and delusional and the show doesn’t need romance and then Claire is half naked in Carmy’s apartment? Look Carmy deserves happiness, his life has been basically nonstop stress and trauma since he was a kid and him ending the season thinking he doesn’t deserve fun or love is heartbreaking because it isn’t true, he deserves all the love in the world especially since he is actively trying to break the cycle (along with his sister). That doesn’t negate the fact that he agreed to being partners with Syd and then left her to make decisions on her own about a business they agreed to start together. Which is why he apologized and rightfully so.
And I know for a fact annoying Sydney and Marcus shippers are going to be like “well ackshully they are clearly setting up Sydcus this season so how can they hate black women.” I love Marcus as much as the next person and honestly after I saw where the writing was going I was like fuck it why not at this point, but if Sydney and Carmy’s shippers were living off crumbs Sydney and Marcus shippers were living off the memory of food. But sure that ship had development.
also no i don’t fuck with that syd and marcus ship because why the fuck are you snapping at sydney cause she rejected you and it wasn’t even really a rejection that was very incel core and it’s not about being upset half the kitchen is always screaming about something, it’s why he snapped at her.
I’m just angry so yeah fuck this show.
I’m genuinely contemplating if I want to watch the next season at all. I said if they wanted to go no romance, fine go no romance, but to not only lie about that but bring in some whole new girl we don’t know and throw the black girl to the closest guy despite the fact Sydney and Carmy are more alike than anyone else? You clearly need to do some introspection and think about why you can view Sydney and Carmen as friends but get sick at the thought of them being more.
There is a possibility (a slight possibility) that they are playing the long game we wanted, but i am wary because they lied and put a manic pixie indie girl in as a love interest this time and it sucked. But then I remember the scene with Syd and Carmy under the table and how open and honest they were with each other and even though their relationship wasn’t the best this season I can see it’s potential, because that one scene had more chemistry than all of that other ships other scenes combined. I don’t know.
This got me thinking though Will Poulter romcom when? I will be seated. Also the consensus on twitter is that people really didn’t like Claire and thought the show should have ditched their plot all together so that’s nice. A lot of people seem to think this is a setup for sydcarmy and idk, maybe i’ll rewatch when i’m more calm.
