Back when Undertale was big, someone in my circle of acquaintance made a post about how it felt like the "fandomized" version of a story with deeper, more complicated characters, that turned everyone into a cute bundle of quirks and awkward-but-sweet relationships.

I never liked that post, for a plethora of reasons, but lately I've been watching my partner play through Dragon Quest Builders 2.

And like, DQB2 came out after Undertale. It's definitely in conversation with it, in ways that older DQ games may not be. But like, the Dragon Quest games were clearly an inspiration for large parts of Undertale's Deep Lore (TM), and...

This is the generic Skeleton enemy in Dragon Quest. It's a mook. You kill a bunch of them. They all have the exact same personality: fighty, a bit uptight, prone to making bone puns.

Do they, perhaps, look a bit familiar?

Papyrus definitely takes some... shall we say, inspiration from the Dragon Quest skeletons. But where they're interchangeable mooks, he's a good bit more fleshed out. (Pun fully intended.) We get to see how much he wants to become Captain of the Royal Guard, how much of a earnest little weirdo he is, how much he loves his brother, how gentle he is and how unwilling he is to hurt you. You get to see a whole bunch of interiority from a character who, in another game, would be a bundle of bone puns.

If Undertale is the fandomized version of a different game, it's the "fandomized" version of a Dragon Quest game. And that says good things about fandom.

Something I've expressed a lot of fondness for over the course of this blog is when rips..."escalate", so to speak. A lot of fantastic SiIva rips are simple in a way that's quite easily conveyed, and usually do what they want to achieve within just one loop. The meme medleys and fusion collabs are of course the obvious examples of rips that go against this: Changing styles althroughout their runtime to reflect a plethora of different jokes and different collaborators' styles of arranging. Yet sometimes, gold can be found in the most unexpected places.

Like often is on SiIva, the source of today's rip is coated in irony - an infamous Undertale parody called "UNDERTALE THE MUSICAL". Rather than being an actual "musical", the original video is a crudely animated parody of Lady Gaga's Bad Romance, depicting a genocide run of the game to the tune of middling autotuned vocals. Being a gaming music video on Undertale, its made its way smoonthly into algorithms of gaming Youtube everywhere, ticking all of the boxes in a way similar to how the Minecraft Parody "Revenge" did way back when. Whilst Revenge lives happily ín our minds as a well produced encapsulation of the time it was uploaded in, UNDERTALE THE MUSICAL serves as a reminder of what kids' gaming youtube really looks like.

With that in mind, Story of Undertale - named after the first line said in the original parody - had everything needed for its success story lined up ahead. Its source, an audio that had spread online like wildfire and infesting Undertale fans the world over with or without their consent. Its ripper, Jamangar, is an absolutely legendary ripper for Undertale rips in particular, with a track record including the fan favorite, 600K-views-on-YouTube, End Point. All that was left then was the rip itself, and Jamangar went absolutely above and beyond.

Due to the channel's standard expectation of most rips not having visuals, rips such as Story of Undertale come with an interesting challenge to overcome: How do you convey the escalation present in the source's animation, without actually featuring any visuals? As UNDERTALE THE MUSICAL depicts a runthrough of the entire game, so too does Story of Undertale. Only here, its entirely by audio. Undertale's distinct themes are used as baselines for every different segment of the rip - The opening plays Once Upon a Time, followed by the first verse using Enemy Approaching and Fallen Down to reflect the beginning of the game, followed therafter by Nyeh Heh Heh and Snowdin Town to reflect the player exiting the ruins and meeting Papyrus and Sans for the first time. Its a perfect play-by-play speeding through the game's key audio moments in seconds, punctuated by the use of the Start Menu theme just after the moments I just described - the moment in which the player in UNDERTALE THE MUSICAL chooses to go down a genocide path.

The entire rips continues this way, excellently rearranging Bad Romance in every imaginable part of Undertale's soundscape in rough chronological order of their appearance. Through both the original Bad Romance's escalation and this everchanging evolution in sound, the joke never gets old: It refreshes itself faster than you can process, and keeps being an absolute bop throughout. Despite most people viewing UNDERTALE THE MUSICAL with distain, Jamangar was able to perfectly wield that attachment into an absolute masterpiece.

+ pretty neutral in regards to most things. doesn't even mind that the Player takes control of most of their actions. + will eat literally anything, even if it’s definitely not meant for human consumption. somehow they do not get sick from this. + lost the memory of their life before falling into the Underground.

+ despite lacking a SOUL, there are still some things he can feel with Determination instead. + his body has not aged physically, otherwise his flower body would have probably died or wilted at this point; instead, it’s given a life force by his monster dust and Determination. + babysits Toriel pretty regularly because of how miserably she treats herself now that her life has fallen apart.

"Wanderer. I fell, asleep, please… Do excuse me."

He slowly unclenched his hands, like a butterfly freeing her wings from the cocoon and gripped the armrests, leaning towards his visitor, supposedly to take a better look at him. The chair creaked, echoing his movements. The bulge on his forehead was now apparent, the eye still visibly moving underneath the closed eyelids. Passionary's bizarre mannerisms threw Joey off, leaving him with the thought that he had encountered some covert life form. The passionary softly raised the edges of his lips, suggesting a smile, but his gaze remained pointed. His speech flowed leisurely, leaving you painfully exposed to the passage of time.

"My name is Reefert, and I have lived in these, lands, for as long as I can remember. Introduce yourself to me, stranger, and state the reason, for, your visit."

"I go by Joey, I'm a sailor, and I was sent to you to ask if you are interested in some leftover goods. There are three boxes...

Joey didn't even get to blink before the passionary gave his affirmative response, then dove into an unrelated question.

"Sure. We take everything… It shall not be wasted. Have you ever been, to, Tuavemari lands before, boy?"

Joey shook his head, "no".

"We have an interesting tradition here, which the locals call a "Chawtide". Something like, an annual competition, and an important asset, in, the life of the inhabitants of Tuave."

Reefert gestured at Joey in a suggesting manner.

"Young men living here are engaged in a test, for, strength, wit, and dexterity. Do you wish, to, participate?"

Joey pulled back his shoulders and adjusted his belt.

"Yeah! So what do I need to do?"

"Flying creatures reside here, ruzes, that terrorize the way of life, of, the people. Ruzes are truculent, unbridled, and intrusive. Local youths, having matured, go in search of their hollows in the tree trunks, and tear them down."

Reefert mimicked the motion of ripping something in half, then clutched his fists. Joey took notice of his sharp claws, just like his own. Just then, the fists opened to reveal his pink palms.

"Then, after a successful hunt, people rejoice and prance happily, for, the whole night. People love to celebrate."

Joey silently evaluated the task at hand.

"And what are they, these ruzes?", he inquired further.

"Their wingspan are that of a two-seated shallop. Their flight produces hum loud enough, to, rupture your hearing, and they usually prefer to attack first."

"Oh. And do they bite?"

"My dearest friend, you shall not be afraid, of, the bite, but afraid, of, the sting", Reefert shed light on why right then and there. "If they dive their stinger into you, then if you do not die, from, loss of blood, then poison shall destroy you, from, inside out."

Joey widened his eyes, contemplating his decision to participate in the Chawtide, then concluded, "I still have a lot of questions."

Reefert got up from his chair and approached his shelves, pulling out some kind of big rounded shell, which contained a collection of papyrus sheets inside, just like the ones he saw in the captured cargo the other day.

"I am aware, of, your concerns, Joey. It's never easy, to, develop into a mature being. However, if you can excuse me, I am encumbered with plethora, of, tasks this evening."

He glanced back over his shoulder, holding the shell close to heart, like some sort of treasure. Just this one gesture made Joey incredibly curious for the contents inside.

"At dawn, they will create a smokescreen that will mark the start, of, the event. You follow it to the beach, and I'll be expecting, to, see you at the competition. Do not disappoint me."

Joey got the hint that it was time for him to leave, and went down to the first floor. He looked around the place just once more before climbing the stairs, and got a feeling that he would return here someday.

How lucky that I love talking about it! :D I will ramble under the cut :3

3: What’s your favorite line of narration?

There are a ton that I'm so fond of, but here's a fun little parallel that most people don't pick up on! Here's Black on reaching the Surface:

For the first time in his life, Sans thinks that he may possibly survive. Not just tomorrow, not just the latest attempt on his life—he may survive to old age. Or at least, long enough to honestly expect to have a future. He will need to do things, make plans. Build a life for more than just a moment.

He has the means to do it intentionally this time, instead of pouncing on every opportunity and forcing things to work out. He will do it perfectly. He has the luxury of perfectionism, now. And so very much that he would like to do perfectly.

He is the well-adjusted, capable guardian of a new teenager—a guardian with status and experience to back him up, instead of a technically-adult child panicking and scrambling to hold on to his equally frightened brother. And as an experienced guardian, he can provide all sorts of teenager things which he and Papyrus never managed to have for themselves. The list is as long as the concept is delightful.

Schools, for one—humans do education entirely differently from monsters. He will need to attend meetings with Frisk’s educators, to ensure that they are adequate for Frisk’s education and personal betterment. There will be trips to chaperone.

Museums. Frisk has confirmed that those are real. He will have to take his brother to a museum—no, to every museum.

Not just museums, either. There are art stores. Sans knows of them. There are whole buildings with a plethora of supplies for something as precious and frivolous as colors of paint and different types of paper.

Each new thing he thinks of seems equally impossible on its own. The idea that all of these things exist—that he is equally able to experience any one of them, or several in succession, just because he wants to—is…beyond comprehension. And yet, it is his reality. Now, abruptly, it is all too real.

The gist of it is: the world is, briefly, full of possibilities. This is the last chapter of WT, immediately before losing Frisk and the end of the fic. And then Just, in the first chapter of WWU, has the revelation that he may be experiencing brief linear time between Flowey's loops and the end of the world:

If today is today, and not any day before, then the flower’s loops are done. Sans has a precious few hours of real time when what he does will matter, set in stone before the next loops begin. He’s probably slept through half of it, but he’s got the whole rest of the morning and early afternoon of actual, real time to use however he wants.

He can remake his notes, if he chooses, and they’ll be guaranteed to be back to a decent starting point in every future RESET. He can get a calendar for the sheer depressing irony of it, and it won’t go back to being un-bought. If he wants to take his mail in so his box doesn’t look like a mess, he can do that, and the end of the world will see him with a clean mailbox. Take down the lights on his house. Put up more lights on his house. Make Papyrus a new outfit as a present, so he might change out of the costume he’s been wearing for…however long it’s been.

Yep. He’s got all sorts of stuff he could do. The world is full of possibilities.

I just think it's a ton of fun that they have this parallel of doomed hope and doomed despair. Both are just before a huge twist of fate related to Frisk's dimension-hopping, and it's so interesting to me that Black considers the world open to him in a moment of insane hope, whereas Just considers anything possible in a fit of despair just before his presumed death. And then they each make actual plans after this to just plod right along and do the next thing they need to; Sans goes home and does laundry and Black decides to buy a house. Both plan to spend quality time with their respective siblings.

5: What part was hardest to write?

oh boy. WT just came fully formed out of me, I feel like--I rarely struggled with inspiration or desire to write. I had the most trouble rewriting chapters 1 and 2 honestly, trying to get them to meld better in their current form to what the story had become. What really tripped me up is trying to change what easily came out of my head, so making things fit together and polishing up character arcs, remembering little details...actually I remember a recent chapter in which I completely forgot Black's daddy issues and he had complicated thoughts about frisk being his baby without acknowledging his complicated thoughts about parenthood. Normally he's fine saying Frisk is his ward/sibling/occasionally his child, but only with the clarification that he would never be something as awful as a parent to them. So that was a whoopsie.

7: Where did the title come from?

Aha! My secret is that I just take a line from a Tolkien poem every time I can't think of anything to title a fic with. So Whither Then is from a poem, and The Road Goes On is the title of that poem, and thus the series title. WWU's title is just a pun. Whither without you (Frisk asking where they're going to end up alone, without Red, without any of their family); wither without you (Just starting out isolated and dying, Frisk's fear of abandonment); with or without you (the ultimate questions of what to do with Red, and whether Frisk wants him in their life).

A little info on my most standard interpretations of Edge and Stretch since I get really intense about visualizations for whatever I’m reading and don’t really describe them much in-fic plus just some fun facts <3

Stretch

The older of the two, but not by a lot (a couple of years by human standards)

Stands at 6’7, doesn’t slouch too terribly, but rarely stands his full height. The most slim of the Papyri, but still has a similar build to Rus (UT Papyrus)

Predominantly orange magic, very true orange, like the fruit or a sunset, but can use blue magic, and often does when feeling lazy

No eyelights, usually has at least mild bags under his eyes, it’s just his natural state of being

Low energy, even when being bratty or excited he’s more muted than, for example, Rus

Not a huge fan of practical pranks, prefers silly jokes more than anything, loves a good (or bad) pun but doesn’t make them as often as the Sanses

A sweetheart by nature, but he has Anxiety(tm) and it gets the better of him at times

Depression </3

Loves animals, loves kids, disrespects authority but mostly because it’s funny

The youngest of all the Papyri (again, not by much, but enough it can be a point of teasing)

Stands at 7’6, perfect back breaking posture, still got that whole soldier strut thing going for him

Broader than the others, sturdy bones, a ton of scars, including most noticeably the damage on the left side of his skull.

His left socket has two large cracks running through it, as well as the top of his jaw where it connects under his cheekbone being damaged, then further back behind it, there is a chunk missing on the bottom left side of the back of his skull with thin cracks spiderwebbed out from it. Not the only damage to his skull but usually the most noticeable.

Can still see out of his left socket, but not well.

Eyelights go out when incredibly distressed or when very calm and content

He has larger, predominant fangs but all of his teeth are sharp

Bright red magic, somewhere between blood and cherry red, very strong, and you’ll never meet a monster with better control over their magic honestly. Also has purple magic that he very rarely uses, and his healing magic is purple, too, though functions differently than the other purple magic. Also also has blue magic, which he doesn’t use very often either

Clingy. Giant clingy man. One of Stretch’s many and most used nicknames for him is teddy bear and that is not without reason

Loves cats, they almost always have a rescue or two to take care of, and he’s very good with animals in general

Purrs, and not discreetly either. Stretch would describe it as sounding like a harley davidson starting up. He’s capable of purring softly, but when he’s just letting it out, Edge’s purr is very loud and very ragged, but it’s full of love <3

Excellent chef, loves cooking and baking and experimenting, has a weird thing about feeding others and not letting food go to waste

Doesn’t sleep. Should, but doesn’t.

Loves Stretch so much it is definitely unhealthy (not in a creepy way, just very co dependent) but that’s okay, frankly he’s just got a lot of love in general, he can’t help it ✌️😔

Media Evolution and the Changing World: Its Implication to Communication and Education

What is media

Communication is the foundation of what makes us human, as well as a vital component of our societal structure. It essentially allows us to instill vision while communicating ideas and information to a diverse range of people. And evidently, without media, conversing relevant information which involves news, and our various experiences would indeed be unattainable to share across separate regions and to individuals who reside in distant locations. The media will remain a component of our daily lives through having a huge impact in our nation. 

Media can be classified in divergent ways. In general, media is the plural form of medium, that further refers to any communication method. This includes everything from printed paper to electronic data, along with art, current affairs, educational content, and a wide assortment of many other types of information. Furthermore, according to The Penguin Dictionary of Media Studies, it entails disseminating texts and messages to a large number of individuals while also carrying some intellectual baggage or currency. What's more, in the field of education, the media brings knowledge to a plethora of distinct topics, bringing children and teenagers nearer to a variety of information sources and developing inquisitiveness about what they would like to learn.

In line with this, there are also four different categories of media. First is the Media Modality where it refers to audio, video, graphics, and animation. Next, Media format which talks about being digital or analog. Third, the Ways of Transmitting that specifically means the electromagnetic or the radio waves. And lastly, the Mass Media Form or the TV, radio print Internet, telephone, or mobile. Additionally, because of global connectivity, the relevance of media is increasing daily. As a result, each of us must become cognizant of the media's power since it thus enables us to be skeptical of all the data we get on a regular basis. We, the media users, should further remember that our responsibility is to constructively critique the data we gather so that our perception is not influenced by the interests of others.

Media evolution

Because the ear is the predominant sense organ during this time, McLuhan refers to the Tribal Age as the first historical era. Because the senses of hearing, touch, taste, and smell were far more fully developed than vision, this period is also known as the acoustic era.  The development of hearing, touching, and scent occurred in the Tribal Age.

According to McLuhan, in an acoustic environment. Hearing visualizes something beyond seeing in the tribal age because it makes you fully aware of your environment. In the period of the tribe, the senses of hearing and smell provide us with a perception of the world we cannot see. The hearing was more significant at this time since it made it possible to be more quickly aware of your surroundings, which was crucial for hunting. Because everyone hears at once, listening to someone in a group becomes a unifying act, strengthening the sense of community. Everything is more immediate, and present, and encourages more passion and spontaneity in this realm of surround sound. By hearing, it was believed during the Tribal Age.

Pre- Industrial Age (Pre -1700)

Clay tablets (2,400 BC), which were created in ancient Mesopotamia, were in use for more than 3,000 years. Scribes imprinted inscriptions in wet clay using a reed stylus. The tablets were frequently sun-dried and occasionally heated in kilns. In order to preserve them for millennia, documents were frequently kept in libraries.

Papyrus(2500 BC) 

Out of the many uses for Egyptian papyrus was more significant than its use as a writing surface. The majority of these sheets were fashioned and sold as scrolls, while occasionally individual sheets were offered for record keeping and lists. 

Roman Acta Diurna were essentially daily gazettes that contained official notices. They were displayed on message boards in open spaces like the Roman Forum and were carved on stone or metal. They were also known as Acta. During the Roman Republic, Acta originally appeared in its original form around 131 BC.

People established iron production, created machine tools, harnessed the power of steam, and produced a variety of goods (including books through the printing press) In short, this time period is characterized as the result of utilizing machine power. With the invention of the portable printing press by Johannes Gutenberg, the printing press greatly increased visual dependency.

A typewriter is a mechanical or electronic device used to create characters that resemble the movable type used by printers. Keys on a typewriter push against a ribbon to transfer ink or carbon impressions onto paper. Typically, each key push prints one character.

The term "telephone" was previously used to refer to various innovations before the electric telephone was created, and not all early researchers of the electrical gadget dubbed it a "telephone." John Taylor, a captain, created the telephone in 1844 as a means of communication for sailing ships.

One of the best panoramic cameras of the time was the Cyclographe (right), which could capture 360-degree images. A pointed punch that would strike and therefore mark each new exposure on the roll before it passed in front of a slit at the shutter was part of the flexible telescopic camera.

Electronic Age (1930-1980)

The electronic era began with the creation of the transistor. Transistors' power was harnessed by humans, which resulted in the transistor radio, electronic circuits, and the first computers. Long-distance communication became increasingly effective in this era.

Among the many advantages for adopting electronic media is the ability to sell oneself as well as other things like businesses, products, and services. The usage of media platforms and networks, as well as social media sites like television and the internet, are just a few of the numerous ways you may take advantage of electronic media to communicate effectively with others. Because franchisees can purchase commercials to be shown to millions of people, television is one of the most popular electronic media devices. This increases revenue for the franchise owner. 

Human emotions can be learned by machines due to the development of artificial intelligence and machine learning. THIS empowers them to do actions like humans would, facilitating production.

Diversity of Society 

The world evolves as people make it happen. Many inventions were made from the past that were modified and were reinvented into more accessible and convenient to use. Today, media is being spread around the world meant to be an outlet of communication to spread information to people. Back then, people had limited resources in the media as a way of communication. They had telegraphs as a communication instrument to transmit information less hassle than hiring someone to send messages or information manually to the person. Today’s generation has the advantage of using media and acquiring information from it as it is available anytime. Moreover, this not only provides information to masses, but it also lets people express themselves through different media modality, format, and form. 

People nowadays use the media to educate people with their knowledge that gives impact to people on the internet. This way, people can also be educated and be the better version of themselves as responsible media users.

 Implication to Communication and Education

Students are more engaged in their education and have a richer experience thanks to media in education. They can further see representations of what they are learning via the usage of media in lesson illustrations, smart TVs and other interactive media. In addition, the media has the ability to inform people concerning both good and awful. Because it has an impact on the mind, ears, and eyes nothing can simultaneously counteract the impact of the media. In a developed society, the media should take a laudable goal of educating people and discouraging contentious, sectarian, and communal trends. Acquiring knowledge is a process called learning which certainly requires effort. Jobs can sometimes lead to learners being irritated and getting disinterested in the class because they are bored. That is within that instance, using media in the teaching-learning process is needed to capture students' interest and make teaching and learning activities more successful. The use of media in the process of teaching and learning is not a new thing because many educators are aware of the value of media.

Overall, bringing students of all ages together to assist them with all types of media, from homework to various research projects, is one of the main benefits of each social networking platform. It is significant to note that the geotagging phenomenon has a fantastic outlook on the future of education because it may be utilized to locate pertinent information about the target and find locations that are being researched. Additionally, social media platforms can help students, as has been demonstrated by researchers in resolving their relationship crises. In fact, the absence of the primary driver of pupils' academic success is now involved. In this instance, social media brings them into direct contact with working along with their teachers to make sure the studying procedure is correctly kept up and conducive for learning.

Both sans and gaster did have to apply to work at the lab though applications back then were petitioning their individual talents to what was then the king and queen, It wasn't that hard since both of them are from a time before the underground (Having been 9 and 5 respectively) when the war came to a close and they were sealed underground. Regardless about how royalty they needed workers, Competent people who could start working towards improving the undergrounds many needs. So age was rarely a consideration.

This really applies very heavily to sans specifically but he needed some way to support his brother and as soon as possible so sans took full advantage of knowing he was smart and used it to very quickly bypass a few grades in whatever schooling monsters had back then established underground and eventually graduated when he was only fifteen (From the monster equivalent of highschool) and got the job at the lab when he was just sixteen meanwhile gaster was a year younger at fifteen (papyrus was six). All of the scientists hired had a plethora of different projects they were working on, but all of them were banded under a common goal of finding some way to break the barrier.

They had to earn their current positions, Sans would have likely become the royal scientist if not for the fact that gaster was more efficient then him in certain regards and didn't have the same obligations sans did tying him down even though both of them were equal lead contributors on the core's creation and development.

As for sans, he will hold his position as the judge until the day he dies, The powers it grants is chosen by a unknown magic that even Asgore has no control over. Nobody knows WHAT qualifies someone to be a judge as it's not limited by magic power, Position or even species, In fact as far as history goes. Sans is the first skeleton to be the judge. The judge is a position of royalty, In some ways it is even higher then the king and queen as the judge holds reign over them all. No matter your lot in life, If you commit heinous enough acts, You will be taken down. Some of which you can read about here.

The magic that makes up the judge's entire existence is considered old magic, Likely a bundle or collection of spells long before the war that while lost to time has continued to do it's duty. He has to be the judge, It is as much instinctual as it is trained, he never wanted the position, he hates the position but you don't have to like it, You don't have to want it. All it boils down to is if it thinks you are qualified. Though i will throw in a few HC's about a judge

- Judge's DO gain LV but it does not affect their soul in the same way. In fact it doesn't affect them at all.

- In sans's alt post game verse, he is the final judge of monster kind as nobody knows IF he'll ever die due to the determination active in his body

- The ability would select someone else in the monster population once Sans is dead. That is the only way for him to rid himself of it if he really wanted to.

- As a result of this, there is only ONE judge in the whole of monster society, there has only ever been one.

Life on the surface was hard.

Many humans discriminated and harrassed the monster community.

Luckily, there were good humans who supported the monsters and helped in any way they could.

Like you.

You were kind, helpful, and welcoming.

You may have been a little confused and scared at first; but after meeting your new neighbors, Sans and Payrus, you realized monsters weren't any different from Humans.

After finding out the harassment and prejudice against monsters, you started a peaceful protesting group to hep monsters get equal rights.

They shouldn't be banned from restaurants or stores because of who they are.

So you worked your ass off. Because not only were Sans and Papyrus your friends, the whole monster community became friends and then family.

You will fight for your family.

It took a long time...5 years to be exact.

But finally, laws were passed that gave the monsters citizenship and rights.

You were admired by the entire monster community and the good humans who supported the monsters.

As he watched you celebrate with the gang, your smile made him realize how much he loved you.

You loved puns as much as he did.

He loved the sound of your laughter.

You and him would have pun battles and see who can come up with the most puns without hesitation or thinking too long.

Sans was like an encyclopedia of puns...

He. Won. Every. Damn. Time.

EXCEPT that ONE TIME he DIDN'T WIN!!!

It may have been one win, but you relished in the fact that you finally defeated the pun master...and then he would point out the many times he beat you and you'd sulk In the corner...

You play a game to where who can make Papyrus laugh more.

You know he's already sick of the puns, but it's funny when he can't help but laugh.

Whoever makes him laugh first has to treat the other to Grillby's.

Papyrus hates that game...

He also hates that everytime you somehow got a smile or chuckle out of him...NYAH!!!

It was Frisk who encouraged Sans to tell you his feelings...he was a bit embarrassed that a child was the one teaching him how to make a move on you...he'd never tell you about it. (But you knew...LOL!!!)

What better way to confess than through the use of puns!!!

You had asked him to help you organize your attic.

You had a lot of boxes and clutter that you wanted to clear.

Since he wanted to spend alone time with you, he agreed to help...even though it was a lot of work.

Throughout the unpacking, repacking, organizing and etc he was through romantic puns left and right.

You had a lot of random stuff in your attic so it gave him a lot of material to work with.

Just to jot down a few examples:

He held up an easter table cloth that had ehhs scattered over it. "You are the most egg-quisite human on Earth. we will make the most egg-cellent pair."

He pulled out an old coffe cup. "you are the expresso to my coffe and i like you a latte."

He lay on a doughnut pillow. "i doughnut think that i need to glaze over the fact that i like you a hole lot."

He placed a chameleon decorative figure on your shelf. "there are a chameleon reasons why I like you."

He threw a dolphin plushie into the pile of all your other stuffed animals. "i dolpinately like you more than you know. you're my only porpoise in life."

...You know...you had a lot of random items in your attic. It actually made for a plethora of possible puns. So it was actually perfect.

Well, it would have been if you understand the hints he was throwing at you. A lot of them completely obvious.

However...you were an innocent, clueless wonderful human.

('He's probably just getting a lot of pun ideas from my things. He probably doesn't like me like that. I shouldn't get my Hope's up.")

That was the thought in your mind. So you ignored his advance thinking it was just fun and games.

Sans was a tad bit frustrated.

I mean...at least you laughed.

Maybe he should have said love instead of like, but...he didn't want to make it seem he was moving too fast. Love is a strong word and he didn't want to scare you away.

You two went downstairs into the kitchen for a snack break.

He sat at the table with a hypothetical stormy rain cloud above his head.

You hummed to yourself blissfully unaware of his advances as you cute up an apple.

Maybe you didn't like him back...maybe he should just give up.

Just at the thought hit him, Papyrus burst through the door. You were in the corner picking up the chopped up apples you spilled in surprise. You were hidden from Papyrus's sight.

"BROTHER!!! I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, KNOW YOU ARE ANXIOUS ABOUT TELLING (Y/N) ABOUT YOUR LOVE FOR THEM SO I HAVE PREPARED THIS NEW PASTA RECIPE I CREATED!!! YOU CAN BLISSFULYY EAT THE PASTA AND LET IT REJUVENATE YOUR SOUL!!! AND AS YOU CONFIDENCE GROWS FROM MY FLAVORFUL MEAL, I WILL LET YOU BORROW MY DATING MANUEL AND YOULL READ IT AS YOU EAT. IT SHOULD GIVE YOU THE PERFECT WAY TO CONFESS YOUR LOVE. ISN'T THAT GREAT BROTHER!?!?!?" He eagerly placed the book and spaghetti in front of Sans.

Silence.

Sans looked at Payrus in embarrassment and horror. With his face painted blue and his eyes completely black, he silently wished to disappear.

Ever so slowly, you poked your head from behind the counter and locked eyes with Papyrus in bewilderment.

"N-Nani!" You exclaimed as you turned your head towards Sans. Papyrus began to sweat when he saw you.

"...AH. (Y/N). I SEE YOU WERE HERE THE WHOLE TIME...HOW ARE YOU?...YOU DIDN'T HAPPEN TO HEAR THAT...DID YOU?"

"I-I'm fine, Papyrus...Yes...I did hear. Is that true?"

Papyrus paused before bursting out laughing in a nervous manner. "NYAH HEHE. IT SEEMS THE GREAT PAPYRUS HAS CAUGHT HIMSELF IN AN AWKWARD SITUATION! I SHALL NOW TAKE MY LEAVE TO AVOID SUCH A SPECTACLE."

Before leaving he pushed the book closer to Sans with one phalange. "USE THE BOOK!" He whispered (it wasn't really a whisper) to Sans before jumping out the window, shattering the glass.

"Sans???"

*Small Skelton does not compute. Error. Error. Reboot. Reboot. Panic. Paaaniiic.*

You had to bring him back from inside his head. As much as he loved his brother, Sans was completely embarrassed and had a small mental breakdown.

But hey!!! After he calmed down, you admitted your feelings to him.

He was thrilled and you hugged him in happiness.

It was a good day.

Underlust!Sans - oh... oh. Hm, uh, this might be a bit of a problem. Lust's number one way of showing affection is through physical touch, for a multitude of reasons. Sure, he's a hopeless romantic begging for something different to happen for once, but... completely void of physical contact? His best-case scenario is doing his absolute best to warm you up to his touch, if nothing else. Not much, just maybe hand-holding or hugging, but he can't go without. He just can't. He'll do his best to respect your boundaries as best he can, but sometimes, he's just going to need some sort of physical confirmation of affection. Oh, and this most certainly isn't going to put a stop to his flirting, either -- it's going to increase a lot to make up for lost snuggling. You can also expect a lot more impromptu dates out of no where.

Underlust!Papyrus - He'll respect your boundaries without question. Coming up with ways to show how much he loves you, though, are going to be a lot more creative. Charm will probably branch out his expertise into different varying romantic gestures, taking you out for a lot more dates than any other S/O he may have had, and flooding you with a plethora of gifts whenever he sees something you might so much sort of like. Charm's also going to perfect his cooking skill to its absolute peak, making sure you're met with the best meals every day, if not every time you're even just a bit hungry. There's plenty of ways to express love outside of just physical touch, and he's going to find every single one to express how much he loves you.

Underlust Reimagine!Sans - This is both an absolutely fantastic thing and horrible thing at the same time. For the most part, he's just relieved, because that means he can keep a fair distance from you without worry of hurting you in any way, since you won't really try to (physically) cling to him for anything. However, at the same time, this kind of... leaves him to his own devices with his current illness. Which, it's not like he's not used to this already, but... ugh, nevermind. He doesn't really want to think about it. It's selfish, anyway, to prioritize that! Even if he's sort of forced into the mindset more than anything else. But that's not important. Better to just keep it to himself, regardless, for your sake.

He'll probably be more secretive than ever with this kind of partner for fear of making them feel guilty. Ace would much rather just deal with his own problems by himself than hand it over to someone else who, as far as he's concerned, definitely doesn't need to know.

Underlust Reimagine!Papyrus - Well, that's no fun. What's the point of being close to someone if you can't be, well, y'know, close to them! But, at the same time, Duo's not really the type to try and force someone to do something they don't want to, so he'll probably just keep this complaint to himself. However, he's a bit more on the touchy side by nature, so it might take him a bit to get used to. Even his brother, who also hates physical contact, is at least tolerant of Duo's touchy nature. He definitely won't bring up any frustrations of his own about it -- it's better that he just works around your needs. He considers himself pretty adaptable, anyhow! It won't be an issue. Really. ...Really.

Error - You're joking, right? Lying, maybe, to try and win him over, and then you'll just confess that after attempting to get close to him? He's skeptical at first and doesn't trust this... which keeps a distance between you two before you even started dating. It'll take a long while for him to realize that you're definitely not lying, especially when seeing your interactions with others -- and other, more noticably cuddly people, like Ink. He'll start to make a bit more closer advances (in terms of an abstract relationship, not concrete touching) under the assumption that you're truly not the greatest with physical contact, because, frankly, he doesn't really know many people who are like this.

It gives him a lot of reassurance to have someone else who doesn't like touch by his side, even if theirs isn't necessarily a full-blown phobia to the same scale his is. Or maybe it is? He never really asked. But he's incredibly comfortated being with someone who finally doesn't need physical comfort.
