i have been so absent for the best month of the year because of life things but i should mention that melissa hastings is a funky horse girl london loving lesbian

on some level was always aware of this but also would immediately push it down any time she thought about it because Absolutely Not Allowed. in the hastings family sure other people are gay and it's okay i guess but not MY daughters. and melissa very much internalized that

big association with Doing The Right Things and love. when melissa soars and accomplishes, melissa is Good and Loved. everything is Right and anyone who complicates that narrative.. Bad. melissa spent a lot of time struggling with how she DOES feel this very genuine love and affection for spencer and how it's almost. Too Real. there's too much feeling in it. it's real and gritty and she would kill for it, she DID kill for it, and that's not the narrative. she doesn't want the emotion and the messiness.

she wants the simplicity of how her parents treat her after ian dies. how it's so very simple that poor melissa has lost everything and we have to wrap around her now and frankly? that doting and affection? so nice! hastings are viciousness and clawing your way to success and achievement but melissa didn't have to do anything to earn this. she didn't have to get the top score or the best job she won their love simply because of the guilt of having accepted ian so warmly and encouraged the relationship so completely and having allowed their daughter to be disgraced in this way.

she could just exist and have compassion and that felt like a rare feeling. there's something very simple about ian and how he ~takes care of her and that's addictive to melissa. she really does love him because of the certainty there and how that made her feel safe. feeling safe is so rare, and she did feel that with ian. ian would never make her feel something she didn't want to feel, ian would never push or challenge her and would say all the right things. she did feel like spencer was trying to take it away, this special little life she'd carved out for herself where she could live in a dream land and had earned their parents' approval and she wouldn't really have to feel anything messy or complicated at all.

she resents spencer for making it hard and complicated and pushing her to feel things she didn't want to feel, especially after bethany. spencer gets the realest parts of melissa, good and ugly. no one makes melissa feel more than spencer does and she struggles with that. struggles with how she does feel this empathy for her for having grown up in their war zone of a house and does feel this protectiveness of her and how neither of those feelings bode well for melissa, who just wants to coast through life and make their parents proud and keep from feeling anything too harshly and have an easy simple life.

melissa is ugly to people who make her feel.

in my tasha pll verse she and tasha bond as teenagers who are in very similar strict rigid families with a plethora of expectations none too easy to match and they develop feelings and attraction toward each other and as soon as melissa realizes she Cuts Her Off and years and years later is still talking shit because she can't Handle it. literally cannot forgive or deal with this person who made her feel something she isn't allowed to feel, and is so resentful of tasha for getting out of her awful family and finding a way to live her truth and be proud of who she is and not carry this shame melissa feels for loving women. it feels like a betrayal, almost, that tasha could do this and she couldn't.

being away in london helps melissa immensely. being away from rosewood and her parents and finally given the space to explore who she is outside of the Perfect Melissa Persona crafted by her family helps her start to allow these parts of her she'd buried and pushed down come to fruition. i don't know if she'd ever Come Out unless she met someone she allowed herself to care for enough to embody that part of herself in any real tangible way, but she allows herself to think about women and maybe even date women.

the time away helps her see her relationship with spencer more quickly and realize how much she does truly want to remedy things and have spencer in her life, wants spencer to have the freedom she has in london too. having spencer away from rosewood is safe in a way it isn't IN rosewood, with her parents around with all of their secrets with A with all of it. she can be more vulnerable with her with that distance.

spencer is probably the first and maybe the only person she could talk to about loving women, though maybe only because @lingeringscars' spencer is bi and it's something they share

also everything she says ever sounds shady and creepy and threatening even though it usually Isn't and i don't know if that will ever change i've tried to talk to her about it but she's just Like That

i don't think she really wants to be Happy so much as she wants to not ever feel anything very hard and have a life that looks nice from the outside and her parents can approve of and feel safe. but we're working on it we're trying

and like it is absolutely ridiculous, the lengths she will go to to have this, very much at the expense of anything Real, but it is also completely a survival mechanism and that should be said. it is very much melissa's way of trying to survive in the hastings family and it can be very ugly but it's all she knows

Obligatory academic validation post to let you all know I'm still alive, just obsessing over my exam and work and allowing very little time for anything else. Getting this license and raise at work will bump me up to a nice, comfortable salary. I'm still aiming for a perfect store but any 90% will make me happy- I just have to beat L's score, he had the best in the branch. Did I mention he left? So now I'm the most senior and knowledgeable in my position and I've only been in it for 9 months but that's just because the "original" staff all left. I hate being part of adjustments and major changes. So awkward and uncomfortable (and infuriating at times).

I have my next hobbies lined up after this and ready to focus on weight loss again. Much lighter and less stressful hobbies.

I've pretty much maintained my weight which is better than gaining but I've been too focused on progressing at work and moving up (which is much more exhausting than I was expecting but I also haven't been keeping up with my medications so that might be part of it also).

Anyway, hi- I'm still alive and just checking in.

Oh, speaking of A, the new PLL[OS/SS]?! really liking it so far and I've heard rumor of a few original cast showing up?? Living for it. I hope this one doesn't get cancelled. I can't wait for their fall and winter seasons/fashion.

today was the best day! i woke up to find out i got a 180 on my LSAT!!! i am so happy! i ran to tell my sister i got a perfect score of -0 and we celebrated and screamed! later we went to tjmaxx and target to look at christmas decorations, it was so cute! then got fries from mcdonald’s and snacks from 7-11 and then i came home and watched PLL 2.11 & 2.12! such cute fall vibes. we got the cutest little moosey friend from target! the best day ever, and i’m so excited! great start to the holiday season!

PLL about Ocean Fishing

LVI (12/20/2019):

- Fisher exclusive content (漁師専用コンテンツ) - Board a ship at specified times to enjoy fishing on the high seas (特定の時間に出港する船に乗って海上の釣りスポットで船釣りができる) - Receive experience and scrips based on fish caught (釣果に応じて経験値やスクリップを獲得) - Meeting certain conditions while aboard will grant all passengers the chance of a big haul (特定の条件を満たすことで全員に爆釣タイムが到来!)

Ocean Fishing will be a new content exclusive to fishers, where you can enjoy fishing on the high seas. Rather than creating a Duty Finder content that could be entered at any time, we wanted to implement something where you could sense time slowly passing by, so you’ll be able to participate by boarding a ship at specific times. We’d like to gradually add more fishing spots in the future.

LVII (2/14/2020):

This is the fisher-exclusive content that we first introduced during our previous Letter LIVE. You’ll be able to participate even as a level 1 fisher. There aren’t many activities like this in FFXIV, and quite frankly this content won’t make or break the game. However, we believe that as we continue to create the world, the existence of some of these types of activities provide a charm to it. We feel that our MMORPG has started to reach a point where we can make this sort of content. We hope it’s something that you can enjoy casually, like while waiting for your raid group.

We showed some gameplay footage, so you can take a look at what it’s like.

The ship sets sail every two hours in real time. There are two different routes, each with three fishing locations. Once you arrive at a fishing location, everyone on the ship will be able to begin fishing. The content is about 25 minutes long after boarding the ship.

When ocean fishing was first announced, we received requests to allow players to slowly sail around on the ship, like FFXI or FFXIV 1.0. While it was possible, this time we intentionally did not do so. Making it realistic like that would make the content take longer to complete, and thus not something you could do leisurely. On the other hand, we were meticulous when creating the cutscenes, which should be great for taking screenshots.

Each player can fish from wherever they’d like on the ship. The important part is fishing with other players in the same area, and it should be quite enjoyable to fish together even if you don’t hold any conversations.

There are NPCs onboard that sell bait and repair your equipment also. As shown in the gameplay, the fish you caught during the trip will be displayed in the Score Overview window. You’ll receive points depending on the type and quality of the fish you caught. Once you’ve returned to port, your score will be totaled and displayed as a ranking. You can also leave early if you’re not interested in scores or something comes up while you’re fishing.

We’re considering additional routes and random events in future updates. Since we are implementing the base system this time, we weren’t able to create many variations of random events.

A restriction will be placed on reembarking after abandoning a voyage and the requirements for spectral currents will be adjusted. These changes are intended to discourage repeatedly abandoning voyages in an effort to find routes with early spectral currents.

LXI (12/06/2020):

The conditions for spectral currents have been adjusted, making them easier to encounter while ocean fishing.

A new route towards Kugane will be added to Ocean Fishing. As you can see from the screenshots, you can look forward to seeing quite a few magnificent views on this route.

*knock knock* I have a few study tips for my fellow Humanities student :) I don't know what subjects you have so I'll leave about History, Pol. Sc and English <333

English: This is one of the most important subject because it's a compulsory one so pay it a bit extra care. Writing, writing, writing. If you practice writing well then it'd be a lot easier! Try to write short yet complete. CBSE prefers concise answers to essay ones... also one of the toughest part of this subject is that, the paper is very lengthy. Try to speed up your writing speed <3

History: Study the NCERT books thoroughly. Trust me, 99% time no question comes from outside sources. Make a timeline/chronological order for every subject. Also "comprehension-based" questions often come from the "Source" section (the purple boxes), they are very scoring.

Political Science: For this one, you need to keep up with daily issues. This year around 5-7 marks question came out of syllabus from current affairs... Also the NCERT books are important too, timeline helps in this one as well!

For overall: do not repeat my mistakes T~T and complete the project work early... they don't carry much marks but a good file is the key to making a good impression on the external examiner. Also, it helps a lot in study too! <3

And lastly but most importantly, YOU matter more than your grades. Your health, both physical and mental, is the top priority. Grades don't define you. And remember to take care of yourself and do something you love! Journalling can be good stress relief! :) also... try to make studying enjoyable. It works miracles. Say you like listening to music, you can perhaps use ambient music while studying!

wait- cbse prefers concise answers? our teacher makes us write essays for even a 2 marker! we wouldn’t know since our board exams were canceled ugh. also, question from current affairs in exam; really? i thought that happened just in entrances and clat but damn. i do keep up with the news but the world is too big smh. yeah projects are weird but they’re quite scoring agreed. 

there’s so much going on rn and it’s so hard to keep up and manage. like i should study geography and complete my pending work but here i am watching pll original sin on hbomax.

Hello, very shy anon here...I am trying to understand what is going on with the concern on Tyler Blackburn's comments. I listened to the podcast and took it as he questioned his family on his background and took it as face value and relayed it to the powers that be on PLL. Then during season 1 RNM he took the DNA test which came back as not showing any Native American heritage. I'm sorry for the ask, I just want to understand it and am confused. 😔

I apologize for not having the energy to go into depth in this. If you want to know more, there are plenty of reblogs on the original post that explain the issue in the tags, or you can go into the Roswell New Mexico tag that has plenty of people discussing their completely valid problem with it all. 

Nobody cares that Tyler thought he was Native and learned he wasn’t. We care that he only sought out his ancestry when he needed to be “ethnic” for a job and once he found out he was 1/32 Native American (which we now know is likely false and part of a greater issue where white families tell false stories of having a “native relative” like some historical version of “I have a black friend”) he was like “score” and has used that card to get him cast not once, not twice, but three separate times that we know of. And the caviler attitude without any self-reflection in the podcast gives the impression that he doesn’t see a thing wrong with the actions. 

My friend explains this with more energy that I can at the moment.

Jonny Vegas, Founder of The Total Lacrosse Hall Of Fame, interviewed the 1st Woman to be inducted into the Total Lacrosse Hall Of Fame, Justine Beirne!

JV: How long have you been playing lacrosse 🥍?

JB: Since 1998.

JV: What is your most proudest memory as a player?

JB: My proudest memory as a player is scoring in Hawaii last year. *Editor’s note: Justine scored a goal 🥅 on Professional Lacrosse Player Curtis Dickson last year in the 2019 Hawaii Lacrosse Invitational! Justine was awarded the Game Ball by her Total Lacrosse Club teammates after the game & Curtis even signed the ball for her!

JV: Now that you have done what many women’s lacrosse players have never done which is play Men’s lacrosse successfully for many years, do you think more women should follow in your foot steps? If so, what are some of the hurdles you’ve had to overcome on your journey to playing Senior A box lacrosse for the Huntington Beach Screamin’ Eagles(formerly named Huntington Beach Dukes)?

JB: Yesssss. I think women should be on the field wherever sports are being played. I pray more women start playing box lacrosse 🥍 and also that there will be opportunities on the pro and national level for all womens teams to compete right against the men! There are a few of us at the senior A level right now and it would be great to make it a movement. For me my hurdles were about using my weight correctly out there and keeping up with the agility of some of the mens players. Doug Gizzi has been training me for a year and everything about my game has changed.

JV: Talk to us about playing for Total Lacrosse Club in the Hawaii Lacrosse Invitational? How was the experience playing with and against the greatest players in the world?

JB: The 2019 Hawaii tournament made it feel really real to me that I could step out on the field with anyone and hold my own. Can’t wait till next year.

JV: Also, tell us how great it felt to score a goal against PLL pro Curtis Dickson?

JB: Scoring on Curtis was one of the greatest moments of my life and his kindness and great sportsmanship and encouragement afterwards meant the world to me.

JV: You also were awarded the game ball too! Lastly, what does it mean to you to be inducted into the Total Lacrosse Hall Of Fame Class Of 2020?

JB: I’m really grateful to be in the TL Hall of fame and always grateful to be included on your rosters for tournaments. Thanks for being such a great teammate and friend Jonny
