Today's recipe is a healthy breakfast - AVAL UPMA (POHA UPMA) which is rich in iron, calcium and fibre. I have used brown aval for this recipe. You can use this dish as a snack also. Kids will love this dish. Even diabetes patients also can eat this.

#dinnersorted #avalupma . . . ingredients aval/poha - 1 cup mixed vegetables(choice is urs) - 1/2 cup big onion - 1 no(finely chopped) green chilies - 3 nos peanuts - 2 tbsp coriander leaves - few turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp hing - 1/4 tsp salt - as required to season: oil+ ghee - 2tbsp mustard - 1/2 tsp cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp urad dal - 1 tsp channa dal - 1 tbsp curry leaves- few how to make aval upma: 1. rinse aval for 2 to 3 times in water and soak for 5 mins. drain it and keep aside. 2. in a kadai, add oil and ghee, roast peanuts and keep it seperate. 3. in the same oil, add mustard seeds,cumin seeds,urad dal, channa dal and curry leaves. 4. add chopped onions, green chillies, saute till it becomes soft. 5. add turmeric, salt and hing. mix well. 6. add vegetables , saute and cook in low flame for 3 mins. 7. add the soaked aval, mix well. keep the flame low and cook covered for about 3 mins. 8. now turn off the stove , add roasted peanuts and coriander leaves. serve hot as plain or with your favourite chutney. . . . .
