In 2015 a Russian media outlet (Izvestia I think?) accused the State Department of writing an email commissioning an activist to accuse certain Russian political figures of being homosexuals and the US Embassy in Moscow responded by marking up the supposed email with corrections because it didn't fit the necessary bureaucratic format and then asked Izvestia to send the Embassy a copy to proof-read first if they were going to make up emails

Ah yes I love when the politically neutral BBC opens their programme by telling us that the patients are paying the price for NHS strikes and the situation will only get worse, and how train drivers refusing to work overtime this week means there’ll be a lot of disruption for passengers.

Like, if you care about patients just… pay your employees good wages? Give them good working conditions? Make sure the the NHS is properly funded and maintained so patients aren’t sat on massive waiting lists?

And do they not see that if train drivers working their contracted hours and nothing more leads to significant disruption then something is wrong? You just fucking know that making all your drivers work overtime is going to be cheaper than hiring extra drivers, but god forbid the BBC actually make any meaningful coverage, gotta appease the right wing government by trying to demonise unions.

I don't think the Russian government wants Trump to win.

The Russian government is undoubtedly funding and otherwise promoting pro-Trump content.

These two statements can logically coexist, imo, for 2 reasons:

Anti-Ukraine content/propaganda by itself is a strategic goal, unrelated to a Trump presidency

Doing shit that's then found out discredits the Trump campaign. Yeah, this is a bit more complicated than bog-standard office politics, but nobody in 2024 is accusing Kremlin personnel of being new to the office lmao I think they can do some graduate studies level tomfoolery

Point 2 is probably also influenced by the fallout of 2016, which itself was likely an attempt to mitigate the impending Hillary Clinton Issue.

If you don't wanna do it for yourself, do it for your friends and loved ones who stand to suffer under another four years of 45. Voting is quite literally the only way we're gonna fix this mess.

On that note- I’ve also wrestled with the assertion that Trump is a fascist since the election. Here is my conclusion. Trump is a moral vacuum who seems, to me, incapable of the kind of hardline political ideology that drove people like Hitler and Mussolini. Many have argued that he is merely an opportunist, but being the head of a Fascist state is one big fucking opportunity. I think Fascism was in the heart of the American Right for years, if not decades, if not literally for it’s entire history. Trump happens to be a particularly sharp piece of flint, but the Right turned him into the spear they’ve wanted for a long time. Trump parrots the inane rhetoric of the Fox Conservatives and the Alt Right and gives them everything they want, and the Right responds in kind with letting him continue to feed his ego and his business empires. It’s a grotesque tangle of cross-bribery and political corruption that boggles the mind.

Trafikkregulering

Trafikkreguleringen er utarbeidet av Telenor Arena, Politiet, Bærum kommune og Statens Vegvesen.

Formålet er å hindre tilbake-blokkering på veinettet og best mulig flyt for å unngå flaskehalser.

Arenaen vil aktivt gå ut oppfordre publikum om å benytte kollektivtransport på samtlige arrangement. Både NSB og Ruter blir også varslet om våre arrangement, slik at de kan vurdere egne tiltak i henhold til sin trafikk.

Stor trafikkpakke

Tiltakene medfører:

Lyskryssene i Snarøyveien vil gå i «gul blink» med dirigering fra Politiet

Bussholdeplassene «Fornebuparken» vil bli sperret for av/påstigning i begge retninger. Utgående løp (Retning Oslo) stenger 18:00

Alle krysningspunkt i Snarøyveien vil bli sperret av fysisk noe som medfører endret kjøremønster.

Innkjøring via Widerøeveien vil bli betjent av politipost.

Innkjøring fra Snarøyveien til Odd Nansens vei er sperret.

Liten trafikkpakke

Tiltakene medfører:

Bussholdeplassene «Fornebuparken» vil bli sperret for av/påstigning i begge retninger. Utgående løp (Retning Oslo) stenger 18:00

Innkjøring via Widerøeveien vil bli betjent av politipost.

Innkjøring via Odd Nansens vei er forbeholdt shuttlebusser.
