Customized system again!!

You might be surprised to find out this is Mac OS. I love Linux so much but it just does not work well on my m1 Mac, so customization is relatively minimal. I tried my best to replicate my other computers Linux rice which was Void-I3wm-Polybar, but I think this honestly looks better than anything I ever did with that. All software used to do this are open source!

I'm running Arch! I wanted something lightweight so that seemed like the best choice, even if it's kind of a pain to download a bunch of different programs for basic things like opening up images or having access to anything besides a terminal lol.

My windows manager is bspwm and alacritty is my terminal emulator btw.

A gui tool? Nah, too normie. A .ini, .yaml, or some other form of established language used to convey information? How about no. Lets instead create an entirely new lisp-like language with an overwhelming amount of styles you can write in to create what you want to that with few modifications could probably be turing complete. Elkowar's mind is just a black box full of either dumb cat videos on loop or concepts that my puny mind is too round to comprehend

Getting my arch install looking nice and pretty. Background is a quaternion julia set, and down below we have my dragon curve code that I've been working on. Finally got polybar installed and working, and customized it lightly. Next I'm thinking a compositor so i can have transparent terminals and stuff if I want

Thinking about leaving Arch and my little assembly of i3, rofi, polybar, pywal, etc. etc. for NixOS and LXQt. I like what I've built here over the years but my confs are just so fragmented and bodged, and I'd really like an experience with fewer seams and fewer bespoke config-generator scripts. IDK we'll see.

I officially have a semi-configured arch setup that I will hopefully use as my primary computer for the next while! I tried to make it look reasonably nice while not going all in and making it amazing and perfect in every way. I'll be slowly making it better over time when I find things that annoy me.

"linux power user" but i actually just create problems for myself to solve out of laziness. i haven't configured bspwm to adjust my laptop screen brightness with the symkeys so whenever i need to i just open a terminal and run the command manually. same with checking my battery since i usually use it plugged in and haven't bothered to configure polybar with that module. it would take like 10 seconds to do it once oooooor i can spend 10 seconds opening a terminal and running cat /sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/capacity for the same effect

i3-wmのターミナル周りをいじった

ターミナルは「Terminator」だったが、Uxrvtに変更。 ついでにzshにして、「Oh-My-ZSH!」でテーマ変更。 補完関係のプラグインをいくつか入れ、「powerlevel10k」でトレインを追加。 アイコンが文字化けしてたので、Meslo Nerd Fontをインストール。 無事アイコンも表示されました。 さらにi3-wm標準のi3statusやdmenuをPolybarやRofiに入れ替え。 かなり見た目が変わっていい気分の正月です。
